Hear Obama and Clinton for yourself, in their own words with out the filter of someone else's opinion..

Bill Clinton says Democrats failure to allow Republicans to regulate Freddie and Fannie caused economic melt down.

    so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsynspIqAoE

Obama in this video, addressing his community activist work and his work representing ACORN in litigation against the banks and relating to the Community Reinvestment Act, and addressing the failure of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae as those actions relate to the destruction of our economy by causing the current real estate and subsequent financial crisis, states that, and I quote:

"Subprime lending started out as a good idea, helping Americans buy homes who previously could not afford to. Financial institutions created new financial instruments that could securitize these loans, slice them into finer and finer risk categories, and spread them out among investors and around the country, as well as around the world. In theory, this should have allowed mortgage lending to be less risky, and more diversified."

Acknowledging the catastrophe, but as apologist for the Democrats, Obama then offers this justification.

"The original idea was a good one, which was, lets see if we can distribute risk more broadly, and make it easier to provide loans to people who otherwise might not be able to get one."

Yah, great idea. Economically unsound, but embraced by Obama. Listen for yourself. You cannot dispute the mans on words recorded live:

    ???
And here is Obama again, stating

"And I think one of the tragedies of the civil rights movement was that the civil rights movement became so court-focused, I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and organizing activities on the ground that are able to bring about the coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change, and in some ways we still suffer from that,"

    2001 Chicago Public Radio Interview.

And here is Obama again in December 2007, promising a role in formulating policy during his transition if elected, despite saying he has no ties to this organization, Acorn

And here is a link to C-SPAN video clips of the Congressional hearings at roughly the time McCains attempt at S.190. to fix Fannie and Freddie. See for yourself who said what.

Sorry to inform you but McCain was the key note speaker for Acorn in 2006 so I guess he is in the grave yard also. God see's all. People are on this sight that have lost there home to floods and fires. You all need to pray for those to get there homes restored. they were blacks and whites. God knows what he is doing. right now and the devil is on a war path

A speech is a bit different than promising a role on your transition team to formulate the administrations agenda.

Obama in this video is campaigning at a convention of Acorn and I believe two other Community Activist's organizations less than a year ago, in December 2007. Ask if he will be their ally if he becomes President and pledge to meet with leaders of Acorn and the others in his first year, Obama, who we are told has no contact to Acorn (another lie), not withstanding the $800,000 his campaign paid an Acorn group during the primaries, says, quote:

"Yes, but let me say that before I even get inaugurated, during the transition, we are going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda."

See and hear it for yourself. Obama promised that Acorn and other groups like it will setting his agenda if elected even before he is inaugurated:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vJcVgJhNaU

The link below describes how some Democrats in Congress tried to use the original version of the bailout bill to divert money eventually recovered to groups like ACORN, a group Obama has a long association with. See:

      http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122247015469280723.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

Former ACORN Employee Says Obama Provided Donor List
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports, "A fired staffer for an affiliate of" ACORN "testified Wednesday the organization was provided a 'donor list' from" Obama's campaign "in late 2007 for fundraising efforts. Anita Moncrief, a former Washington staffer for Project Vote, which she described as a sister organization of...ACORN, said her supervisor told her the list of campaign contributors came from the Obama campaign." The Philadelphia Inquirer adds Moncrief "gave a scathing, though at times vague, assessment of ACORN and its efforts to go into battleground states and help mostly minorities and the poor register to vote for the first time. The group, she said, barely trained its workers in how to register voters properly, and would fire employees if they did not meet a quota of 20 new voter applicants daily

To all of the conservatives out there who think that Obama is a flaming liberal, I would like to remind you of what he did when he was elected President of the Harvard Law Review. The Law Review President gets to name ten individuals to write articles for the Review, and these ten people get to control the content of the publication. All of the minorities and the liberals thought they finally had it made, that Obama would appoint ten left wing editors. Instead, Obama appointed three conservatives, three liberals and four moderates. That year the Law Review was critically acclaimed as the best run and best written Harvard publication in decades.

So when he wins in November, conservatives don't have to freak out. Obama is a centrist and will appoint a balanced cabinet full of active people who will really get things done. Kind of like the way our multi-cultural society is supposed to be. And exactly what we need in this time of economic crisis.

In 2001, Obama, the "community organizer" turned legislator, said in an interview:

"And I think one of the tragedies of the civil rights movement was that the civil rights movement became so court-focused, I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and organizing activities on the ground that are able to bring about the coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change, and in some ways we still suffer from that,"

It isn't yet perfect but there has been significant improvement, like now, when people see it is in there best interest to focus on reality and put the bias BS aside. In 2000, 2004 and over the last eight years we have been lied to consistently as the Bush-Cheney admin has boldly pursued their private agenda to benefit Special Interests and a select few and have given the majority of us only apathy, the costs and an abundance of subterfuge. They have done this aggressively with arrogance and without any conscience and today we can see the results in the significant and drastic problems we now have. Those few benefiting from this irresponsibility return both overt and covert support, campaign contributions and promised delayed compensation; George W Bush has even bragged he will quickly pass his father and Bill Clinton in wealth after he leaves office. We are now seeing the same dirty politics again from the McCain-Palin camp as they aggressively pursue another smear and scare campaign, without ever really addressing the issues, just depending on lies, exaggerations, far stretched accusations and guilt by association, which they offer by word-of-mouth, on websites and in their speeches. They ask us to believe their obviously twisted evaluations faulting and attacking Obama-Bidden and the Obama-Bidden solutions and then to just trust them, that they McCain and Palin know best what to do, as if everything is all about them. Common sense should convince us that tactic is simply a con and just more of the same style deception we have been misled by in the past. McCain???s history really has not been one with a lot of positive results and rather demonstrates someone who simply impulsively jumps to whatever position he feels favors him for political advantage. Palin, besides being grossly under-qualified, shows us an aggressive, self-focused, dishonest and ???cocky??? personality that lacks the diplomacy and others awareness to perform at the level required. In the mean time, Obama and Bidden have consistently, comparatively speaking, maintained a higher class presidential campaign with a concentration on the issues and in offering specifics of real solutions. Their solutions, and not McCain???s and Palin???s rationalized and critical interpretation of them, offer the needed real change to resolve the problems with a focus on the neglected middle-class, which means the economy and everyone benefits. If we don???t reject the total bull that McCain and Palin are offering and instead are once again deceived, because she is cute or he is a war hero or we lean Republican or because we have conservative concerns or whatever, then we can literally blame ourselves as being co-responsible when we end up with just ???more of the same???. In the end, it is up to us!

Don???t Burn Down Your City if McCain Steals the Election
We think McCain will steal the election and also that the Dems will not fight it very hard. If that happens, look up our website, www.matrix-evolutions for further plans to fight the freedom suppression that will surely follow. We have a solution for internal suppression and outward war. My husband wrote a newspaper article in 1986, Weapons Ban Should Be Part of Our Culture. If you want to help us work towards this idealistic goal, get it touch. Ruth
Certainly, it doesn't matter who you vote for here in Texas where McCain is a shoo-in. We're also pretty sure that no matter who actually wins, probably none of us will be able to tell who actually won. The Republican corporate supported media are telling everybody this week that McCain could win in spite of the polls, setting it up for another Florida and Ohio recount and the Supreme Court supporting the Republicans.
McCain will do anything to Steal the Election. I am demanding that Obama and the Democratic Party not sit by and let him do it as Kerry did in 2004. We personally have spent thousands of dollars and months of our time trying to get Obama elected. We and many others will feel like burning down cities if he is not.

Ruth don't worry your messiah will win the election, he has paid enough money. Hey Accorn was out at the graveyard signing up those that they could read their names on the tombstones. He has all of the money that all of is muslim brothers sent to him, the guy is a shoo in! The most bigoted people I have met are black, to be a bigot doesn't mean your skin is white. And I am sure you and your friends won't have to burn down your homes to protest.

Finally - someone tells the truth. Every time I heard those phony liberals saying how Obama's supporters were highly educated, etc., but that Clinton's were southern segregationists, I would respond by highlighting that the most segregated parts of the country are blue-state urban areas: the bluest of the blue! But for that, liberals were angered and closed down discourse. Great. So much for being progressive. All they really want is symbolic change anyway. Worse yet, they are totally willing to accept Obama's "Trail of Broken Promises": http://dissentingjustice.blogspot.com/2008/11/trail-of-broken-promises-powerful.html

  • Posted By: openvisions @ 11/02/2008 12:18:33 PM

McCain said he will win no matter what? not sure what he means by that . but I think you are right. he has the power to make his win happen like Bush did

  • Posted By: openvisions @ 11/02/2008 12:03:55 PM

If the rightwing thinks that way they are not as strong as we thought? That means they are weak people who worked with him, smiled in his face and shaked hands with him almost everyday. Now they want to die. Sounds real crazy to me. McCain even talked about some Dems. in office. How can you talk about these people and after election day you need. I do not understand.

  • Posted By: GREGPARKER77 @ 11/02/2008 12:01:28 PM

A victory by Barack Obama will prove once and for all that talent, ability, brain power, and drive are the qualities that it takes for success. There is no need whatsoever for quotas, set-asides, and race based or gender based preferences of any sort.

I have never heard of so much name calling. He did this and he did that and lets see what his greatgrand mother sister in- law did. come on people. if this was judgement day and God questioned us about what we did. who would not be the only person to have never done anything wrong or had a bad thought. The past is not always your future. FYI this comment has no color on it, it is for all people. I was a McCain supporter but if he talks about Obama like he does, what will he say about me. I changed my vote to Ralpd Nader. we do not need a President who cant respect his or her co-worker, smile in their face and cut at the end. We need hlp America, we need someone to fix the mess Bush is walking out on. It 'snot just about the war its about Health care , our seniors, our children, jobs.,housing and becoming one nation under God. We have people right now who have no place to live, killing each other.Fires everywhere, people losing their livies. We all need God more now then ever before. Just prayer for who ever becomes our next President.

What is most troubling in todays political climate is the promotion of hatred as a philosophy. The emergence of an ultraconservative dogma relies increasingly on the encouragement of mass hostility aimed at one group in particular - Americans with progressive political views. Liberals are spoken of with the kind of dripping contempt and virulent hostility that used to be associated with racism and sectarian religious strife. Liberals are viewed not fellow Americans citizens concerned with the future of their country, but as ideological enemies that need to be destroyed - and eaten if possible. This view is fundamentally anti-American.

This right-wing sect manifests a complete lack of empathy toward other Americans whom it defines as its ideological enemies. Its core beliefs are absolutely impervious to reason and are unleashing ugly and violent impulses. What makes their zeal so dangerous for our country is their willingness to do serious damage to our precious American Democracy in their quest for absolute power.

With this little diatribe, we learn much more about the hate of the writer than that of anyone on the Right.

      • Posted By: neos @ 11/01/2008 8:31:27 PM

I think that the author of this 'diatribe' was shaking his head and not his fist.

And the hatred on the right is very real. Go to a Palin rally-these are faces out of a Bosch painting.

An isolated nutjob who was equally castigated by the left and the right. If he were to show up at an Obama rally he would be denounced and not encouraged. Therein lies the difference.

            • Posted By: Nins @ 11/02/2008 11:51:34 AM

And that is a HUGE difference, Neos.

Obama always tells his crowds to stop booing. He redirects hate and anger into positive action. "Don't Boo McCain -- go out and VOTE."

Oh, do you think the poor mentaly ill girl who carved the B on her face was working alone? How about the fact that the McCain campaign put out this story to the media BEFORE the girl was even released from the police station? And they gave the police as the source of the story, hours before the police report was made public. I guess they thought the police would be stupid enough not to see that the girl was lying.

The problem with Obama is a simple one. One association does not a radical make. But in Obama???s case, the list of left-wing radical mentors and associates is seemingly endless, (Davis, Ayers, Wright, Khalidi , etc., etc.) with a new revelation practically every day. With that, a picture begins to emerge, and that picture is that Obama is as steeped, not in just left-wing political thought, but in radical left-wing and race ideology, to the same extent that Pat Robertson was steeped in the ideology of the radical Religious Right. I would not have voted for Pat Robertson for dog catcher, and for similar reasons, I will not vote for Obama.

How much worse would it be to judge them for being connected to lies and racist smears, even if they state that they disagree with their relatives?

Yes under McCain you will be required to wear the yellow star of David, if you are Jewish, some sort of feather thing if you are American Indian, a sombrero if you be Mexican, a rising sun head band if Japanese, and Male of Female medallions to signify your choice of partners.
However, under Obama, we will all hold hands each day, sing praise to our new Messiah, and if all is well all Republicans will convert to Democrats.

This is from the associated press: To all Republicans ENJOY!!

    Associated Press, today:

GOP presidential nominee John McCain has past connections to a private group that supplied aid to guerrillas seeking to overthrow the leftist government of Nicaragua in the Iran-Contra affair.

McCain's ties are facing renewed scrutiny after his campaign criticized Barack Obama for his link to a former radical who engaged in violent acts 40 years ago.

The U.S. Council for World Freedom was part of an international organization linked to former Nazi collaborators and ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America. The group was dedicated to stamping out communism around the globe.

    Daisy Cutter's diary :: ::

Back in August, I authored another diary describing McCain's ties to an assortment of shady individuals and groups. I'm glad that the story of McCain's extremist anti-communist friends is finally hitting the MSM in a big way. I think my August diary is worth a repost:

    G. Gordon Liddy: Convicted felon who helped plan the infamous Watergate break-in. He also advocated war crimes against the Vietnamese people and called for shooting ATF agents in the head. His house was the site of a McCain fundraiser in 1998 and, just recently, McCain appeared on his radio show. McCain then got a little giddy over his dear friend Liddy:

Cuba, Vietnam. Laos, Cambodia, Iran, Nicaragua, Somalia, Iraq. Let our friends, allies and the innocents die, by the millions if necessary. Just so long as they are not Americans. We are the Democratic Party, and for 50 years, from the Bay of Pigs to the Basra Highway and beyond, we have never met a fight we could not pressure our government to run away from, or friends and allies we could not abandon. It's the story of our generation. Only the French are more defeatist than we, but together America, we can change that and become number one. And its change we can believe in. Come on America, and vote Democrat. Together, we can re-live that pride we haven't felt since the 1970's. If we just blindly pull together, we really can make this like it is Jimmy Carter's lost second term. Yes we can!
