Truthfully, one of the reasons the US no longer has any credibility in the world is the support for Isreal. There is nothing democratic about what the "jewish" state is doing to its Palestinian population or the Palestinians in the occupied territories..It is just plain ethnic cleansing and I think that even Isrealis believe that to be true, but Americans have been so brainwashed by the propaganda of the Isreali lobby and the media..Now all of that is catchin up to them with a potentially nuclear armed Iran...

Wow! what about the War for Oil fiasco in Iraq, and the Bush camp who cooked up the so call Weapons of Mass Destruction excuse to invade Iraq? Now the can of worm is open and we will probably have to go to war again with Iran to stuff out their nuclear program... thanks for nothing Mr. Bush, as you really made matter much worse for our security in the world.

The problem with Obama is a simple one. One association does not a radical make. But in Obama's case, the list of left-wing radical mentors and associates is seemingly endless, (Davis, Ayers, Wright, Khalidi , etc., etc.) with a new revelation practically every day. With that trend, a picture begins to emerge, and that picture is that Obama is as steeped, not in just left-wing political thought, but in radical left-wing economic and race ideology, to the same extent that Pat Robertson was steeped in the ideology of the radical Religious Right. I would not have voted for Pat Robertson for dog catcher, and for similar reasons, I will not vote for Obama.

Hmm, first test of potential president elect Obama and he didn't connect. I thought he could simply sit down with anyone and the seas would recede and the earth would heal. There is a righteous wind at his back, but he's probably already lost one ally. Looks like Barack "Jimmy Carter" Obama.

Well, I see both Bibi and Barry have quite a lot in common. Neither of them seem to give a rat's ass about the Palestinians, and both want Jerusalem the undivided capital of Israel, regardless of what the UN and International right has to say. Obama has taken great pains to distance himself of anything vaguely resembling Muslim, has kiss the rear of AIPAC in public and now seems wary of acknowledging his relationship with the Palestinian scholar Rashid Khalidi, a moderate who could bring some balance to Obama's extremely zionist foreign affairs agenda.

I'm afraid the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and all the rest of the Middle East's related conflicts will only be resolved after American influence fades away. It doesn't seem too far away now.

By the way, none of the previous comments have anything to do with the article. The Newsweek forums look more like a propaganda board for cut-and-paste messages.

My reply has to do with this article! Netanyahu has learned how much value the Arab word has. Not necessarily because Arabs are liars but because Arab moderates who recognize that the only way to peace is a two-state solution generally don't have a long life span. As long as the Arab street has such venomous hatred toward the Jews there will be no peace. As far as your comments about AIPAC and your belief in the control of our government by the evil zionists, there will be no peace between me and dufusses like you.

      • Posted By: froy1100 @ 11/02/2008 8:56:55 PM

Netanyahu is a zealot who will provoke the 3rd Intifada if elected. The ones you call moderates are actually corrupt tyrants happy to follow the US lead regardless of the needs and wishes of their people to fill their pockets.

I didn't say AIPAC controls your government, but they have an influence way stronger than they should, and if the US doesn't resolve to put an end to the conflict with a balanced approach is in big part this sinister lobby's fault.

In any case, a pleasure to discuss about something actually related to this article with a dufuss like you.

Obama's Links To Radicals Starting To Surface!! www.newsmax.com/timmer

Obama-Farrakhan Ties Are Close, Ex-Farrakhan Aide Says

A former top deputy to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan tells Newsmax that Barack Obama???s ties to the black nationalist movement in Chicago run deep, and that for many years the two men have had ???an open line between them??? to discuss policy and strategy, either directly or through intermediaries.

???Remember that for years, if you were a politician in Chicago, you had to have some type of relationship with Louis Farrakhan. You had to. If you didn???t, you would be ostracized out of black Chicago,??? said Dr. Vibert White Jr., who spent most of his adult life as a member and ultimately top officer of the Nation of Islam.
White broke with the group in 1995 and is now a professor of African-American history at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.
White said Obama was ???part of the Chicago scene??? where Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. and radicals would go to each other???s events and support each other???s causes.
???Even though Chicago is the third-largest city in the country, within the black community, the political and militant nationalist community is very small. So it wouldn???t be uncommon for [Obama and Farrakhan] to show up at events together, or at least be there and communicate with each other,??? White told Newsmax.
The Anti-Defamation League has denounced Farrakhan and his Nation of Islam as a ???hate group.???
Farrakhan has called Jews ???bloodsuckers,??? ???satanic??? and accused them of running the slave trade. He has labeled gays as ???degenerates.??? In a 2006 speech, the ADL again condemned Farrakhan when he said: ???These false Jews promote the filth of Hollywood that is seeding the American people and the people of the world and bringing you down in moral strength. ??? It's the wicked Jews the false Jews that are promoting lesbianism, homosexuality. It's wicked Jews, false Jews that make it a crime for you to preach the word of God, then they call you homophobic!"

Sarah palin when asked about becoming vp responded

"As for that VP talk all the time, I tell you, I still can't answer that question until somebody answers for me, 'what is it exactly that the VP does every day......"

After she had been the nominee for around 2 months she was asked again and this time said

[T]hey???re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom.

WRONG THE VP IS THERE TO STEP IN IF SOMTHING HAPPENS TO THE PRESIDENT ONLY THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH POLICY AND THEY DONT RUN THE SENATE!!
If she doenst know what the vice pres or presidant does why would we give her the job

Mccain has around a 40 percent chance because of his age in not being able to

complete his term picking palin was about as smart as picking any other mrs Alaska contestant.

Its not just that we disagree with her answers in alot of cases she doesnt understand basic questions
like what is the bush doctrine, or what do you read.
    These are not gotcha questions!!!
One of advisors recently said not only was she unqualified but said mccain picked her after 1 interview of about a hour
and that even at mcdonalds you get 3 interviews.
Members of her own campaign called her a diva and a whack job.
They would know better then anyone else right now.

So mccain gambled and he lost big. He ended up with a girl that cant answer questions that most of the people reading this can answer.
at the same time mccain could never read this blog because he cant use a computer at all.
I mean his wife has 100 million dollars get him classes or something.

Am i crazy or do we want a computer literate president and a vp who can answer a least basic questions.
If you read the rest of the articles on this site you would think the world is about to end
So if thats the case these are the last 2 people you want running anything.
    let send them packing.

    ELECT OBAMA BIDEN NOW

This will obviously be a problem for Obama. Ironically, liberals have been crowing all along that we must ''regain the worlds trust''.

But the ''world'',as they know it.[Europe],is swinging rightwards. Not to the Left. The British liberal Labour Party was dealt a crushing defeat by the conservative Tories. Frances Sarkozy is no Obama Man. Italys government has moved right as has Canadas,Denmarks,Austrias, and Germanys where Merkel is being pilloried by her weakness in not effectively supporting NATO and by extention, sending more Germans to Afghanistan. Bibi, while a retread, will be confronting Obama with the perception by voters that not enough is being done by the US to either assist Israel,or deal with the Palestinian reactionaries.[Early signs by the Democrats have not helped. Kucinich whined when the IDF air forces took out a Syrian WMD plant. Pelosi truckled to Assad at the virtual moment Ki-Ban Moon of the UN busted Assad for shipping weapons to Lebanon.Sam Powers, a key Obama foreign policy adviser, was nailed for being a puppet of HAMAS even before her ''monster''comments aimed at Hillary Clinton. Biden told the Israelis that they ''will have to live with Iranian nuclear weapons''. ] Thus Obama is already working from a position of weakness with regards to this portion of the Middle East peace problem.

Maybe Mr. Peraino didn't mean to say that "neither man ran a country", because Bibi was the PM for 3 years (1996-1999). Turning over Hebron hurt him the most as well as his personal scandals and corruption. He also negotiated with Arafat (another unpopular move), resulting in the Wye River Accords, but they were really just another way to try to implement Oslo which the Arabs refused, as they have continued to refuse to implement any treaties with Israel... which is why things are the way they are.

Although our two countries are true friends, unlike the "business style friend" relationship with have with the Arabs, Israel has very different considerations because of constant war on their land. They do need a hawkish Prime Minister, and I don't think Livni is strong enough. Bibi has always remained a favorite, but we'll see if Israel is ready to give him a second shot. Israel tends to recycle the same politicians over and over, Barak, Peres, Netanyahu and others. They need some new blood.

Despite our constant support, Israel will always put its defense interests first. Even when Bush was chastising Sharon not to retaliate when the Arabs would attack, Sharon continued to stop the smuggling of weapons and terrorists into the country. It was because of those actions that Israel has seen a relative peace after the second infitada although the bombs keep dropping in the north.

McCain v. Obama? McCain will continue Bush's policies. Sharon counseled Bush NOT to invade Iraq, but he did anyway. Bush also praised the Hamas elections, before, during and after. He earmarked $80 million to the PA which Congress did not pass. He campaigned on the promise of putting our embassy in Jerusalem, marking it as Israel's capitol, but it remains in Tel Aviv. He refused to put U.S. monitors at the Philadelphi corridor and when all hell broke loose during the Arab uprising last year, the foreign monitors fled while the Arabs poured into Egypt. While Bush may have not been the worst for Israel, he was not the best. (Nixon was, ironically.)

Other than supporting Israel monetarily, and I would mention that Israel is one of very few countries that actually repays its debts and then some, any U.S. president will continue to do the same, but policy-wise, I can't tell you how Bush helped. Obama will hopefully bring some fresh ideas.

First of all, in the name of all those who are contributing to this film, I would like to
    thank you for the
interest you have shown in our project. In a way, this film is the story of the over 40 million
Kurds living in the world. My aim with this project is to leave the new generation and the
world an example of the cultural heritage of humankind, as well as telling the world our
history and culture in the language of cinema. To make such a film in Turkey is very important, particularly if one looks at the films made about Kurds up to date. Up to now no historical or cultural films have been made in this country, and as a Kurd I have been trying to make the ???Brukan??? film happen for the last two years in order to fill this gap. During this time I met with several actors and firms interested in partnerships. However, our aims always clashed. These people only approached
the project with financial gains in mind. Their attitude made me feel more protective about my project. I have been looking for partners who would embrace this project and have met with
people in several European countries. But I have to say that I have been touched most by your interest and suggestions. In addition, our shared roots have honoured me. Personally, I am not interested in how much ???profit??? I am going to make. But I wish with all my heart that my friends who support the project benefit financially and otherwise. My only stipulation is that I want to put aside 3% for educational projects. Agreeing on the rest should be very easy. I see you as a companion and together with you I would like to realise the ???Brukan??? film, which will introduce our culture and history to the world. I sincerely believe that by working together we will make a film that will target world cinema. We have written the story of the project, but of course there are shortcomings. A written scenario or story is not absolutely necessary and, working together, we can develop both. I believe that with this project we can develop an international film that becomes our culture and history. I am sure that in the following stages we will collaborate in agreement and make up the shortcomings of the project. The biggest problem of the project is its funding, but I am sure that with your collaboration and support we will overcome this
problem. I would like to reiterate that I would like to collaborate with you on the ???Brukan??? project from the bottom of my heart and I invite you to work with me on an international
project. May this film be a valuable creation to leave to the next generation.

    Yours sincerely,

    Kas??m GÜLTEK??N/Producror

    THE GREAT BUSH DEPRESSION
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
He perfectly predicted the current meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen next
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide ,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch , Fanny and Freddy Mae ,AIG
The government took them over because they are bankrupt. Even with the goverment nationalizing hundreds of billions of dollars in debt the stock market is crashing
the credit markets are frozen and all of us may suffer beyond anything seen in generations
McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand how its been broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use quantum mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.
Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He was the last to know somthing was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. Check out this link to the truth http://my.barackobama.com/keatingvideo
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a budget surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?
Mccains team just said they no longer want to talk about the economy.Instead they would like to spend time talking about obama
which means running the biggest smear campaign in history.
They think they can just tell you lies and you wont be smart enough to see through it
Let's teach him we are smarter than that
Stand up and hold them accountable
Bush isn't on the ballot this year but his policies are
    Elect Obama Biden 2008
