"what more could you ask for in a role model, Michelle Obama has the class and the genuineness," I would like a First Lady that instead of being proud of her country for the first time in a while, she was proud all the time and could disagree with people and politics. This shouldn't stop her from being proud of her country.

Atl tre- If this isn't a issue of race for many than why would Howard Stern walk into Harlem and state John McCain's policies and even his VP canindate's name and have people agreeing with him when they were voting for Obama?

Watched Fox ???News??? 11/1 for perspective. Got that and some chills.

LIVs have gotten notice lately, but the real scary ones are the Propaganda Dupes.

Paul Gigot was interviewing someone named Dorothy; didn???t get her last name.

    *********

PG: ???We???re back with a look at what???s really at stake, where each candidate really stands. Dorothy, for you what are the really big differences, the defining issues here????

Dorothy: ???The differences are attitudinal and political. Basically: how do you feel about our place in the world. We???ve seen a regular line from Mr. Obama in which he seems to indicate that the opinions of the U.S. held IN THE FASHIONABLE SALONS OF THE LEFT all over Europe, and IN ACADEMIA, and IN THE DARK CHAMBERS OF OUR ENEMIES, are something he understands too well.

???In fact, I suspect we will find a SQUISHY, as some would put it, MULTILATERALISM, AT BEST.???

PG: ???Why can???t McCain exploit that? Because in past elections that would have been a really costly position for a Democrat to take.???

Dorothy: ???He simply has not been willing to say: THIS IS HOW OUR ENEMIES SPEAK.???

PG: ???But Dorothy, if he had said that, the PRESS WOULD JUST HAVE ANNIHILATED HIM!???

Dorothy: ???He [McC] has this weakness, MORAL VANITY, SENSITIVITY. He fears what the press will think of him, instead of understanding it.???

???McCain is so clearly who is not receptive TO THE IDEAS OF OUR ENEMIES.???

???Obama said, the first thing he said was, what will you do when you go abroad: Ah, I will go abroad and make amends TO OUR ENEMIES???to others in the world. He sees us as a fallen nation.???

    **********
    ???Fair and balanced??????

I have seen other manifestations of the propaganda machine in those ubiquitous viral smear emails, but I have now a better appreciation for the vituperation we are seeing from the Propaganda Dupes.

Lord, help us all on Tuesday!

I???m going to take Bass Pro???s idea. I???m going to watch the election coverage on Fox ???News??? Tuesday.

    A 40 year republican.

Educated, real, honest, family oriented, down to earth, concerned about others,,, what more could you ask for in a role model, Michelle Obama has the class and the genuineness, In 2000, 2004 and over the last eight years we have been lied to consistently as the Bush-Cheney admin has boldly pursued their private agenda to benefit Special Interests and a select few and have given the majority of us only apathy, the costs and an abundance of subterfuge. They have done this aggressively with arrogance and without any conscience and today we can see the results in the significant and drastic problems we now have. Those few benefiting from this irresponsibility return both overt and covert support, campaign contributions and promised delayed compensation; George W Bush has even bragged he will quickly pass his father and Bill Clinton in wealth after he leaves office. We are now seeing the same dirty politics again from the McCain-Palin camp as they aggressively pursue another smear and scare campaign, without ever really addressing the issues, just depending on lies, exaggerations, far stretched accusations and guilt by association, which they offer by word-of-mouth, on websites and in their speeches. They ask us to believe their obviously twisted evaluations faulting and attacking Obama-Bidden and the Obama-Bidden solutions and then to just trust them, that they McCain and Palin know best what to do, as if everything is all about them. Common sense should convince us that tactic is simply a con and just more of the same style deception we have been misled by in the past. McCain???s history really has not been one with a lot of positive results and rather demonstrates someone who simply impulsively jumps to whatever position he feels favors him for political advantage. Palin, besides being grossly under-qualified, shows us an aggressive, self-focused, dishonest and ???cocky??? personality that lacks the diplomacy and others awareness to perform at the level required. In the mean time, Obama and Bidden have consistently, comparatively speaking, maintained a higher class presidential campaign with a concentration on the issues and in offering specifics of real solutions. Their solutions, and not McCain???s and Palin???s rationalized and critical interpretation of them, offer the needed real change to resolve the problems with a focus on the neglected middle-class, which means the economy and everyone benefits. If we don???t reject the total bull that McCain and Palin are offering and instead are once again deceived, because she is cute or he is a war hero or we lean Republican or because we have conservative concerns or whatever, then we can literally blame ourselves as being co-responsible when we end up with just ???more of the same???. In the end, it is up to us!

How will you vote America? Will you cast your vote for:

The Socialist or Communist candidate (redistribution wealth/class-warfare)

    Or

    The Capitalist Candidate

    See definitions below:

Socialism: 1. A political theory or system in which the means of production and distribution are controlled by the people and operated according to equity and fairness rather than market principles.

Socialism: 2. Stage between capitalism and communism. In Marxist theory, the stage after the proletarian revolution when a society is changing from capitalism to communism, marked by pay distributed according to work done rather than need.

Communism: The Marxist-Leninist version of a classless society in which capitalism is overthrown by a working-class revolution that gives ownership and control of wealth and property to the state

Capitalism: A free-market system. An economic system based on the private ownership of the means of production and distribution of goods, characterized by a free competitive market and motivation by profit

    PLEASE VOTE HERE:

    1.
    2.
    3.

Pretty easy choice IMHO. I'll stick to good old fashion Capitalism. Reward hardwork!
    NOT PUNISH HARDWORK!!!!

Regulated capitalism is not communism or socialism. It is in fact very practical. Look what happens when we unilaterally assume "enlightened self-interest" will guide participants in a democracy to always make the right decisions. For the most part it works, but it fails when huge amounts of power or wealth are involved. Market principles need strong watchdogs and constant forces for public transparency to avoid veering disastrously off course.

One of the reasons why I do not follow Feminism even though I am a black female is because Feminism was meant to cater to the concerns of white women. Michelle Obama has been attacked by the news media and I have not heard one Feminist group step forward they way they did with Hillary and Palin. Mrs. Obama is truly a lady, and she's classy. In addition, she dresses like a lady. PS Palin, she pays for her own outfits.

    • Posted By: summer1216 @ 11/02/2008 12:49:02 PM

The concerns of "equal pay for equal work", "no sexual harassment at work for females" and "time to attend parent-teacher conferences and attend to sick children" caters to WHITE women? How can you say that?

I do not believe any good mother would allow her children to sit in a "church" and listen to preachings of hatred toward any race.....and the country that they live in. She is a true racist....you are just being fooled. I was fortunate to have a good mother, and I am a good mother. I know what values and morals are, and so do my children. Oh yes, Michelle probably does buy her own clothing....she can afford to! Sarah had to borrow clothing...she does not get to keep it....she bargain shops. I doubt Michelle has ever had to shop in a thrift store! I am just appalled at the lies, the corruption, the shadiness of the Obamas. The over-whelming support that the media has given to Obama is sickening. To compare Michelle to Claire Huxtable, or the Obamas to the Kennedy's is just absurd! I am not blinded by all the hype in the media. I will just continue to pray for this country, and all of the people in the great USA. After all, there is really only one Lord and Master.

The two tapes that surfaced of Rev Wright are the only two tapes that surfaced because they are the only two tapes anybody, anywhere, could find. Reports about and interviews of the congregation and the church universally express shocked surprise that what is a very benign church with a strong social mission in the surrounding community was suddenly defined by these two tapes. The upshot -- sermons like this were rare, and not the steady diet of churchgoers over the years. Considerable research has been done and published on this point, so if yo want to dispute it, you need more than your personal conjecture to do it.

    • Posted By: Nins @ 11/02/2008 12:03:49 PM

Rebecca, in Sarah Palin's church they talk about gays as sinners and seek out witches who they blame for everything that goes wrong in the community, then run these innocent people out of town. Sarah's children have grown up being exposed to such hateful remarks.

Many churches in America are guilty of intolerance in all of it's ugly forms.

That does NOT mean that they individuals in the church share these views. Some of them do, but not all.

For instance, I am a Catholic and I think that gay marriage delights the heart of God. God is happy whenever two people make a commitment to love one another.

This moronic scumbag Samuel J. Wurzelbacher "Joe the Plumber" had his AZ driver license suspended

    http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/128323

Wurzelbacher, who lived in Mesa in 2000 and had an Arizona driver's license, had his driver's license suspended by the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division on May 4, 2000, following a nonpayment of a court-imposed fine for civil traffic violations, according to court records.

...owes nearly $1,200 in back taxes, according to public records, still owes more than $700 to the Mesa court system.

Records show he was cited for failure to stop at a red light and for failure to provide proof of insurance on Feb. 9, 2000, in a black Dodge truck at the intersection of Dobson and Baseline roads in Mesa.

After failing to pay his original fine of $627.50 issued in March 2000, his license was suspended and the fine was handed over to a collection agency along with a 16 percent surcharge. The now-resident of Holland, Ohio, still owes $727.90 to the Mesa Municipal Court, according to court records.

Hopefully the collection agency will break both of his legs so he'll never be able to walk nor work ever again. This typical Republican scumbag deserves it.

Not to mention, OYWC, that "Joe the Plumber" is old news. You have re-posted this one thousands of times in the past two weeks. At least write something new. We're bored out of our minds with this re-run.

Not only is Michelle Obama a great role model for Afro-American women, Barack and Michelle's relationship is a good role model for all of us. It is undeniable that these two people really like each other. They are affectionate, supportive of each other, and work together as partners.

In a country filled with broken marriages and dysfunctional families, seeing them interact together really makes my day. They are a great couple.

"Nowforthetruth" is now selling guilt by association that Obama has PLO buddies referring to Rashid Khalidi. McCain donated $440k to Khalidi.

    See for yourselves at: http://richmonddemocrat.blogspot.com/2008/10/mccain-funded-rashid-khalidi.html

"Nowforthetruth", a little more "truth" about guilt by association....

"Nowforthetruth" also said: "Nins, all you prove is that you have perpetual PMS and cannot read. If you are as careless in your practice, you are a danger to your profession." You reveal too much of yourself "Nowforthetruth".

"Nowforthetruth" continues repasting that the cause of our problem is a law decades old that encourages loans to qualified low income people. "Nowforthetruth" continues to repeat well known deceit.

Alan Greenspan stated recently that the problem was not anything like that. Rather, he stated that an entire financial system was built outside of regulation, and "we trusted" these self-interested looters to regulate themselves. Credit Default Swaps were the result.

Credit Default Swaps increased from $106 trillion in '02 to $531 trillion under the R stewardship. No regulation.

While there are several variations of a viral email that tries to blame a few thousands of political donations to some Ds, the actual, legitimate news has reported that Fannie and Freddie paid many millions to Republican lobbyists to lobby Rs, only, to PREVENT REGULATION.

McCain's campaign manager, Rick Davis, received up to $35K/mo. from Fannie and Freddie from 2000 to present, to lobby Rs,only, against regulation. Freddie paid Rick Davis while he has been McC's campaign manager. Freddie donated $250k to the R convention.

These facts are everywhere in the legitimate news: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/22/us/politics/22mccain.html and http://www.newsweek.com/id/164732/page/1 There's much more legitimate news on this.

Trillions were looted from our economy because the Rs allowed it. It is inescapable that the Rs, most prominently McC's campaign manager, were in the pockets of big money while they drove the buss off the cliff with us in it.

You can try to distract people with fears about 'those guys'. Lies, distortion, deception. 'Socialist' is only the last in a long, now desperate, list of labels you have tried to pin on 'that one'. That's all you have left.

Is your most recent reposting here directed to fears about "Socialism", or is it just innuendo, or are we trying to fold in a little racism too?

Since we have no more ideas, let's keep running our campaign on fear, smears and hypocrisy.

Keep talking "Nowforthetruth", you're really helping. You keep demonstrating that we all have to vote against lies and propaganda and attempts to hijack our political process with deceit. Your actions are the kinds of reasons that I'm voting for Obama after 40 years of never having voted for a Dem.

At least Michelle Obama is educated and understands and supports the US Constitution.

ABC Reports that in a conservative radio interview that aired in Washington, D.C. Friday morning, Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin said her First Amendment rights are threatened by reporters suggesting she is engaging in a negative campaigning against Barack Obama.

Palin told WMAL-AM that for reporters or columnists to suggest that she is going negative constitutes an attack on her free speech rights under the Constitution, saying -If the media convince enough voters that this is negative campaigning, for me to call Barack Obama out on his associations, then I don't know what the future of our country would be in terms of First Amendment rights and our ability to ask questions without fear of attacks by the mainstream media.-

If I hadnt heard her butcher the Constitution numerous times already, I might not have believed it!

One of the ways in which Michelle Obama really shines is in her role as mother. Hilary Clinton and Betty Ford also had a genuine way about them when they interacted with their children that was wonderful to see.

While it is important for America to see women as more than baby factories, for the women who choose motherhood, there is no more important role, and no harder job. Being a mother transcends race - every single one of us, regardless of race or ideology, had a mother. Some of us were fortunate enough to have good ones.

I hope MIchelle allows her obvious love for her children to continue to take center stage, regardless of any other responsibilities she may take on.

Parents - and mothers - need all the positive role models they can get.

    THE GREAT BUSH DEPRESSION
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
He perfectly predicted the current meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen next
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide ,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch , Fanny and Freddy Mae ,AIG
The government took them over because they are bankrupt. Even with the goverment nationalizing hundreds of billions of dollars in debt the stock market is crashing
the credit markets are frozen and all of us may suffer beyond anything seen in generations
McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand how its been broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use quantum mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.
Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He was the last to know somthing was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. Check out this link to the truth http://my.barackobama.com/keatingvideo
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a budget surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?
Mccains team just said they no longer want to talk about the economy.Instead they would like to spend time talking about obama
which means running the biggest smear campaign in history.
They think they can just tell you lies and you wont be smart enough to see through it
Let's teach him we are smarter than that
Stand up and hold them accountable
Bush isn't on the ballot this year but his policies are
    Elect Obama Biden 2008

Check out this video of sarah palins interview and ask your self if she understands what she is talking about.

People a have always spoken about her husband , though Michelle Obama would make a fine First Lady. She's both a business woman and a dedicated mother. t will be interesting to see her in such a capacity, as there has never been a role model of such stature for American minority women in modern times since Jackie O, Nancy Reagan, and Hillary Clinton. The role of First Lady became more of muted one during the Bush years, and would be more the same under McCain. Michelle has defintely handled herself well during this very long campaign.

People should listen to the recording of this phone call between Palin and "Sarkozy." I have to say, Palin sounds like a nice, conciliatory person, but she also sounds as dumb as a rock. It is incomprehensible that she didn't realize that it wasn't Sarkozy, especially when he referred to "Nailin' Palin" and the fact that his wife was good in bed.

But worse than her failure to recognize the prank is the fact that when Sarkozy referred to the Prime Minister of Canada using the name of a rock star, Palin didn't even get it -- apparently she does not know the name of Canada's Prime Minister -- despite the fact that you can see Canada from Alaska. (Ahem.)

Poor Sarah. She's in this way over her head.

Thank you, Allison. I wholly agree with you. I think that she needs to go to both rural AND urban areas to talk about education in this competitive world. The notion that black children (especially boys) are acting "white" because they read books is the first thing that needs to be addressed in this country. I do also think that people on the right are dangerously flirting with disaster if they continue to favor people they "can have beers with." As a whole, EDUCATION needs to be the centerpiece of this country. Real, non-grade-inflating education.
