Allison Samuels points out in critical reference to aTown & Country magazine article that the reporter is a "white female reporter", yet at the same time Samuels states the "white female reporter" had written that Michelle Obama's husband is of mixed race unlike Michelle being all black and this statement was made by this "white female reporter" "seemingly for no reason". Well the same can be said for Samuels for her statement about "the white female reporter"! Was the race of the reporter critical for the reader to understand what was said or was it mentioned "seemingly for no reason"?

With EVERYTHING you have had access to...with all the FACTS you have been given (albeit sparsely because the MSM have been suppressing MANY important issues), if you still go and vote for Obama, you are completely and totally out of touch with reality and ignorant...yes, I said gnorant. And to think you all think you are so smart...so progressive...well, thank you very much...if he wins, we ALL have to deal with the sequelae...and trust me, it won't be pretty. Thanks a lot.

Oh geez, NO OOOO is back to annoy us all. You know, big NO, you are the ignorant, bitter and desparate sore loser..... very immature, do grow up.

Just voted for Obama. A very informed decision on my part. He will be president, and I can wait to see the outcome! For the first time in a long time I am hopeful that our country is moving away from elitist policies and a middle class person like myself will be at least considered. No ignorance here. In fact I think it is a little presumpuious to call the majority of the country (because at least half of the country will vote for Obama today) ignorant.

      • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 11/04/2008 2:36:27 PM

Who is the angry person because the only person I see writing profanity is you jjorgenses. Please lets not take anything out of context, because the last time I checked B@$% meant female dog. No woman deserves to be disrespected or called out of her name. Women are the givers of life and some woman gave birth to you. Let those without sin, cast the first stone. I am more than confident that you have not always been even tempered.

She is an angry black bitch who has benefited from this Country in many ways, yet shows neither gratitude nor patriotism. Oh boy, am I not looking forward to your daughters growing up to be demanding, angry black *** like your messiah's wife.

    • Posted By: Kboogie @ 11/04/2008 2:36:34 PM

I'd take an angry, black, professional, successful, bitch OVER a drug-addicted criminal, trust-fund wielding, barbie-doll, has-been trophy-wife, w/ an addiction to Botox, ANYDAY.

      LOL!!!!!!!!

      Just my opinion......

  • Posted By: grt2hearfromu @ 11/04/2008 2:36:13 PM

Wow! I'm certainly glad THIS election has NEVER been about the color of anyone's skin...be it Democratic, Republican OR Independent! Or HAS It? Hmmmmm....why couldn't you just have written simply about the values, ideas or credibilities of a new first lady coming into the White House? WHY must you make it African-American women????? And why should there be specific programs targeting simply black youth or single mothers or fathers of African American children/youth when there are also single parents whether green, yellow, caucasian, etc. that are working their butts off to take care of their children just as much! I'm sooooo tired of this whole racial division....why can't things be even? Most all of us pay our taxes...why are some more deserving of a break than others???? We all want to see our children succeed...... I don't get it and neither do so many other Americas!

  • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 11/04/2008 2:30:39 PM

Michelle worked hard to get where she is....nothing was given to her. AND, she's NOT the one who is an angry b!tch.

  • Posted By: patbraun @ 11/03/2008 5:32:05 PM

My mother is 83. She has been a democrat all her life. She doesn't mind voting for Barry . But she told me that she is going to vote for McCain because she doesn't like his wif. Her instinct is that she doesn't want a role model that is a black activist. Right or wrong, lots of older white women feel this way.

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 11/03/2008 5:58:38 PM

Then those older white women are wrong! I do not understand why some people insist on labeling this woman as an Angry Black Woman because there is nothing about her that states this. These women have obviously never seen an Angry Black Woman!

By the way his name is Barack!

Oh waite I guess I'm an angry black woman also. LOL!

      • Posted By: Morgan2008 @ 11/04/2008 3:40:51 AM

Michelle Obama labeled herself when she made the statement that she had never been proud of her country before. Anyone that makes that statement does not deserve the privileges she has been given by living in this country. NOBAMA!!!!! NOBAMA!!!!

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 11/03/2008 6:07:33 PM

I just re read my reply. Replace Angry Black Woman with Activist which is still what Michelle is NOT! I am trying to multi..multi task!

  • Posted By: Rhan @ 11/03/2008 5:41:21 PM

Abbychleo must be a white woman!!

Until you have walked a mile in my BLACKNESS you can not begin to understand what Mrs. Obama has to the table. She is a true depiction of what a STRONG WOMAN is; never mind her color. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY AUDLT LIFE I AM PROUD OF MY COUNTRY. My 90 year old Grandmother (who passed away this Jan) was the daughter of a slave and it prides me to see that WE (Blacks, Whites, Hispanics, Asians, Muslims, Christians, and Jews) can look beyond the color of and man's skin and judge him by the content of his character!! This is what I took from her statement.

Have you ever looked to see your grandmother???s tears at the anniversary of cutting her oldest son down from a tree where he was hung less than 4 miles from her home? Or have you ever had to drink from separate water fountains because of skin color. Have you ever felt water tearing off your skin from fire hoses because you were standing up for RACIAL EQUALITY? These are some of the things Blacks have gone through and for a Barack or Michelle Obama to rise from the ashes; is REMARKABLE!!!

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 11/03/2008 5:55:28 PM

Amazing story. My mother's brother was shot for speaking to a white woman in 1949 in Alabama. There are a lot of stories. My cousin, by marriage, is white and her sister was beaten almost to death for sticking up for her friend, who happened to be black this was in 1953.

America has both a wonderful and horrific history and unfortunately there are those people who do not want us to evolve as a nation. But with every generation these groups are being left further and further behind.

      • Posted By: neos @ 11/03/2008 6:19:04 PM

You know, SJ, I can't begin to imagine the pain it must cause you when you read some of the hateful things some 'people' feel obligated to write on these sites. But you are absolutely right that their kind is running out of gas. Thank you for your forbearance and forgiveness.

        • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 11/04/2008 12:37:03 PM

          Hi neos,

I look at it this way, those and millions of other stories like them are part of our history, but there is not one person alive today who owned slaves. I treat everyone that I meat as an individual and react to them as such. My family and my circle of friends are rainbows, this is how I live my life. If this were a black country then so be it I would only deal with blacks, but it is not so why would I limit myself.

I have always been interested in different cultures because they as humans affect me and my life. I am basically a happy person surrounded by people who love me. I have a good life. Oh one more thing one of my closest friends is the decendant of the slave owner who owned my great grand parents. I do not have any racial hang ups, I do recognize that there are definite differences but beyond that I'm good. Regarding the idiots and bigots on these boards once I log off, I give them no further thought, I would never allow those types of individuals to pollute my life.

Hope you are having a wonderful day.

GET OVER IT> Abey and any other white person TODAY did nothing to your grandmother or any other grandmother or grandfather that was black. There were many indians that black people haven't treated so kind either. Move on. Obama has. He isn't all black anyway. What is your deal. He's just as much white as he is black, he just doesn't have enough self esteem to claiim it. Besides he only claimed it so fearsely to get the black vote. Are you stupid. So the grandmother that he so dearly cherished, he acted like she didn't even exist most all of the time he has been campaigning. He barely claimed his white family. Where was the black trash that left him and only seen him once in his life and where is the rest of his so called wonderful black race of a family that had nothing to do with him while he was traveling the us with his white grandmother. Such a sad mixed up man. And his wife is a sad angry and bitter black woman. doesn't matter how educated or whether they win or not they are still very very sad people. It's all a show on the surface. I guess if he wins, and doesn't follow through with all he thinks he can, you will give him another out and blame it on the previous years of bush. Anyone voting for Obama is an idiot personified.

Letting that anger come through, again.

You sound like you may have the potential to make produce some great arguments, and conduct a valuable dialogue, but you lose it w/ the nonsense.

The anger reveals how personal you have allowed this to become, which means you're biased w/o reprieve. no one listens after that.

        • Posted By: Susan25 @ 11/03/2008 6:43:10 PM

It appears you have taken a left turn down Ignorance Street and another one down Bigot Avenue. "He" certainly does not walk with you or anyone who spews out the type of malicious and vicious diatribe as you do. It sounds to me that you are jealous and unhappy and want to blame someone else for your problems. By the way, it also appears that you are uneducated because you can't even construct a cogent sentence, much less make any common sense. It will be a good thing when people who think like you all die off. The world will be a much better place. So just keep on being your own ignorant, racist self. You will have to answer to the "He" you claims walks with you. "He" would never condone your b.s. Hold onto your seat and get ready for President Obama and his First Lady.

          • Posted By: Kboogie @ 11/03/2008 7:20:23 PM

Was this meant for me? I'm on your side. I'm voting for Obama.

            What's up w/ that?!?!

    • Posted By: Hewalkswithme @ 11/03/2008 6:17:09 PM

Until you have walked in someones whiteness or someones American Indian heritage or Jewish you have no idea what anyone else has went though either. The black race have had their crosses , but they are not the only ones. Every race has had difficulties and horrible things in history happen to them. Even the appalachian people are discrimanated against to this day. So totally get over yourself and join the human race and be unified as an American Citizen and stoppppppppppp the whining. Michelle is not such a STRONG Black woman if she continues to carry the bitterness from the past, that didn't even affect her. She got her freebies to get her degree and lived a rather nice life growing up just like many of us, so what is she crying and whining about. Just shut up about it and get over it.

      • Posted By: Kboogie @ 11/03/2008 6:31:44 PM

"Freebies". Actually, she was paying back her student loans, w/ interest, until recently. Other than that, I hagree w/ some of what you say.

You're a little angry, though. You start to lose your eloquence and rationale when you let that come through.
Your facts start to become a little distorted, also.

        Just trying to help.

I'm Asian-American (Korean) and I think Michelle Obama is wonderful and is definitely someone I admire. She's not just a role model for African-American women, but for all women.

    • Posted By: Hewalkswithme @ 11/03/2008 6:06:58 PM

Well Leeky, If you are that naive, you better go back to Korea. Even that God forsaken country would be better than here if Obama wins with a wife like that. Obviously, you haven't read her thesis and many other things she has written or commented on, because she is a bitter black woman. And that's worse than than anyone clinging to their guns and religion!

I agree with you completely an Obama presidency will be a good thing for all Americans and will also definitely be a step towards putting a more human face on America as far as the rest of the world is concerned. Our international reputation has been sorely damaged.

  • Posted By: Hewalkswithme @ 11/03/2008 6:33:19 PM

personal, you obviously don't know what to respond to because you are the stupid one.
Sorry, already breeded and my 3 children have college degrees actually working for a living and contribute to this US and don't take handouts and paid for their own college! Imagine that Obama! Their parents and grandparents probably paid for his and MIchelle's. And you personal will be paying for their =daughters' :)

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 11/04/2008 12:25:16 PM

oK, I am going to assume that you are attempting to respond to a reply of mine, but unfortunately you obviously do not understand how the "REPLY" button works LOL

That alone says a lot about you, so I will not bother addressing the rest of your obtruse statement. Have a very nice day.

    • Posted By: rogerhall @ 11/03/2008 6:40:54 PM

Congratulations on a job well done (as a parent). I hope my kids do as well!

Of course it is well known that Barack and Michelle took loans to attend college and then paid them back primarily from the sales receipts of the two books Barack wrote. In fact, the right-wingers have accused him of paying back those loans based on some assumed criminal behavior in relation to a man who lives next door. That it has been debunked has had a round of publicity too.

I suppose you missed all of that though. Maybe you should do a little work of your own instead of just making things up for which to hate him.

From Sunday's Televised 'Meet the Press' Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag.

Obama Explains National Anthem Stance Sun, 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, General Bill Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked Obama
to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played. The General also stated to the
Senator that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171... During rendition of the
national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. At the very least, 'Stand and Face It'

Senator Obama Live on Sunday states, 'As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides, Obama said. 'There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.'We should consider to reinvent our National Anthem as well as to redesign our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It's my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct ourselves as the nations of Islam, whereas peace prevails. Perhaps a state or period of mutual concord between our governments. When I become President, I will seek a pact or agreement to end
hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation have placed upon the nations of Islam an unfair injustice. My wife disrespects the Flag for many personal reasons. Together she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past, many years ago. She has her views and I have mine'. Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President of the United States and I have put aside my hatred. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path of hope. My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country's First Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you heard it right. This could possibly be our next President. I, for one, am speechless.

    Dale Lindsborg,

Please check your facts before you postsuch garbage. The alleged quote is from the pen of columnist John Semmens of The Arizona Conservative. He writes what he calls "Semi-news -- A Satirical Look at Recent News." It was in that column on 10/27/07 that he wrote the text of what has been circulated in this email.

It's satire, not an actual quote from Obama.

I agree that Michelle Obama will make (has already made) a great role model for black girls everywhere. More than that, though, she makes a great role model for ALL girls and women. The more I've listened to her I realize she's a great mother and wife and cares about helping the underpriviledged. Even though the color of our skin may be different, I feel I have more in common with Michelle Obama that Cindy McCain.

  • Posted By: leonore @ 11/04/2008 5:48:48 AM

I suppose you mean the privilege of being brought as a slave and having to struggle over 100 years for equal rights. Is there such a thing as a pure black person in US. As the slave owners were very active in fathering children with their female slaves, it seems unlikely. Also why is a person of mixed race always 'black'
If you add milk to your coffee it is not black anymore is it? Why is Obama not a white man with African blood?

    • Posted By: Z3d07 @ 11/04/2008 11:19:02 AM

technically because it's the dominant gene but it also helps on college applications.

  • Posted By: Blue in AZ @ 11/04/2008 12:02:00 AM

Well, let's see how our perspective first ladies match up.
    Cindy McCain:
    born an heiress
    cheerleader
    broke up McCain's first marriage
    prescription drug addict
involvement in the Keating 5 scandal
occasional philanthropist, mostly a stay at home mom
    owns multiple residences and vehicles
has never had a "real" job
wore an outfit to the RNC that cost between $299,100 and $313,100
will not admit to having a half sister

    Michelle Obama:
born to a water plant employee and a secretary
    went to Princeton and Harvard
was a National Honor Student and student council treasurer
has held the following jobs....assistant to the Mayor of Chicago, Assistant Commissioner of Planning and Development, Executive Director for the Chicago office of Public Allies, Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago, Vice President for Community and External Affairs for the Univ. Of Chicago hospitals, serves on the board of directors of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs
    is an avid hula-hooper
was defended by Laura Bush for the "Really Proud" comment
has been constantly maligned in the press and called Obama's Baby Mama by news stations

Now really, would anyone ever call Cindy McCain John's Baby Mama?

I would much rather have my daughters growing up with Michelle Obama as a role model than Cindy McCain. I don't care how angry or "unproud" she is. I've been angry and unproud myself for the past 8 years.

    • Posted By: Morgan2008 @ 11/04/2008 2:57:25 AM

You are misleading others who don't know better. Cindy McCain has a Master's Degree and she was a teacher before she met John McCain and she did not break up his first marriage. Yes, she has had a real job unless you don't think being a teacher is a real job. Stop spreading lies. NOBAMA!!!! NOBAMA!!!!

      • Posted By: hemlock3630 @ 11/04/2008 11:14:10 AM

Still, Cindy and John got a marriage license BEFORE he was divorced from his first wife, so she's an adulteress. Where's the right-wing evangelical outrage over that?? Hypocrites.

      • Posted By: Blue in AZ @ 11/04/2008 9:11:08 AM

That's not what his first wife said. And with all the other BS being posted on this comment thread, it's funny you're screaming "stop spreading lies!" at me. Must have touched a nerve.

Michelle Obama will make a wonderful First Lady. Let her get into the White House and we will be able to see all her hidden talents. No one is perfect. We all need a chance. With the help of the many capable and kind people in their administration she will do just fine. I wish her all the luck in the world.

  • Posted By: rebeccalt6 @ 11/04/2008 10:27:09 AM

Michelle willbe a great first lady. She is an excellent role model for girls of all races. I wish her only the best and know she will bring long needed changes to our country as will her husband. I believe this truly and not because of her race, but because of who she is.
