In the exchange with "Joe the plumber" Obama unintentionally revealed that he really is as radical as his early political mentors and acquaintances, Davis, Ayers, Wright, Khalidi etc., (gee, there sure seem to be a lot of them) and that he is into the failed economic policy of wealth redistribution. Now there is absolute proof. In 2001, Obama, the "community organizer" turned legislator, said in an interview:

"And I think one of the tragedies of the civil rights movement was that the civil rights movement became so court-focused, I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and organizing activities on the ground that are able to bring about the coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change, and in some ways we still suffer from that,"

    2001 Chicago Public Radio Interview.

Obama's tax and spending plans alone would be bad enough, but add Reid and Pelosi to the mix, with the three of them controlling both houses of Congress and the executive branch without any effective restraint, and you have something that should causes concern even among moderate Democrats.
See Wall Street Journal: A Liberal Supermajority:

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122420205889842989.html

Indeed, some democrats are publically saying as much. See Barney Franks comments on the news, including face the nation last week, stating essentially that Democrats in Congress intend to greatly raise taxes and go on a spending spree.

    See http://www.taxfoundation.org/blog/show/23617.html

Obama's ill-conceived programs will require him to tax, and his health care plan alone is a substantial hidden tax on all business, large an small. In reality, it does not really matter who he taxes, those taxes are going to be passed through the economy. He has to tax, because it is they only way he can pay for his massive social engineering experiments. Any first year economics student knows that taxation is a tool used to contract an economy experiencing inflation, because it reduces demand by reducing the amount of money individuals and businesses have to spend. It is contractionary, which is exactly what you do not want to do when the problem is that the economy is contracting already into recession. Like Hoover and FDR, Obama's plans will only make it worse for longer.

The democrats failed social engineering policies in the housing market are what brought us to ruin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lr1M1T2Y314&feature=related
Even Bill Clinton says so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsynspIqAoE
Obama and a supermajority of Democrats simply is not the change we need, nor is it change we can afford.

As if "mainstream publications" often do "in depth features' about "regular" NON - African American women. No, Faith Hill, Jennifer Anniston, and Katie Couric don't count.

I am going to be sick...a ROLE MODEL!!!
I want hard working people for role models, people who do similiar things to what I do each day. Get up, sacrifice for my family, give up things for myself so my kids can have, go to bed so dead tired that I can hardly say good night to my husband...
It seems that role model is being used only for race. Gee I think Bill Cosby is a role model for telling it like it is and I am white and female!!
What a mess we are going to be in!!

If you've paid attention, you would know that Michelle Obama has go5tten up every morning and gone to work to (1 ) pay for her education and (2) help support her family. Cindy McCain has simply siphoned off inheritance money ... never for one day knowing the value of an honest day's work.

Until you have walked a mile in my BLACKNESS you can not begin to understand what Mrs. Obama has to brought to the table. She is a true depiction of what a STRONG WOMAN is; never mind her color. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY AUDLT LIFE I AM PROUD OF MY COUNTRY. My 90 year old Grandmother (who passed away this Jan) was the daughter of a slave and it prides me to see that WE (Blacks, Whites, Hispanics, Asians, Muslims, Christians, and Jews) can look beyond the color of and man's skin and judge him by the content of his character!! This is what I took from her statement.

Have you ever looked to see your grandmother???s tears at the anniversary of cutting her oldest son down from a tree where he was hung less than 4 miles from her home? Or have you ever had to drink from separate water fountains because of skin color. Have you ever felt water tearing off your skin from fire hoses because you were standing up for RACIAL EQUALITY? These are some of the things Blacks have gone through and for a Barack & Michelle Obama to rise from the ashes; is REMARKABLE!!!

I'm a white woman who really doesn't care what color Michelle Obama's skin is. My problem with her is the huge chip on her shoulder that she seems to have. I resent her comment about being proud of her country for the first time...this woman is in her forties. That's horrible. I was totally turned off when she announced early on in the campaign that Americans better elect Obama because this was our last chance to have him as President. He would never run again. Was she kidding? The arrogance of that statement totally astounded me. I don't think she's has anything special to emulate and if little African-American girls have only her to look up to...I'm really sorry for them. Michelle Obama is run of the mill...nothing special. An angry woman who needs a few lessons in being gracious.

Wow, this is nuts. I fear for your country if this article can incite this kind of racist hatred. And some of you actually have the nerve to include God in your screen names? Wow.

Well, I know it is better than it has been in the past, but I thought/hoped it was better than it appears to be given some of these comments. Anyway, don't mind me--I'm Canadian.

              I'm not going to fall for that one! The last time I jokingly suggested that Canada join the US (because then would have more "blue" states) I got chewed out for an hour by a couple of the angriest Canadians I've ever seen! :}

Hehe, I bet. No, I don't want to join up, but I do want to vote! Btw, we just voted in a conservative gov't but we're running about 80% in favour of Obama. Never said we were logical, just easy to get along with...unless you talk about making us a state, that is!

Michelle's, confidence and intellect will go a long way in changing an image that all women need.

  • Posted By: danabattle @ 11/03/2008 8:12:20 PM

Michelle is an inspiration just the way she is. She doesn't need to work hard to please anyone. It's obvious that she's black, so interjecting her race is a mute point. It appears that the writer can only see that about her. I haven't heard her pop off about anything. Other First Ladies have spoken their minds and race has never been an issue. Let's get past this!! I'm sure she has so much to give. We just need to be open to it!

I was not born in the 1960's therefore, I cannot blame white people for slavery. Besides slavery has ended over 200 year ago. I am a black woman and I cannot stand Michelle Obama. She comes accross very arrogant and very hateful. Leftists wants to compare her to Jackie O. She is no Jackie O., she truly lack the tact and the humility that made Jackie O. so so special. She come across like a mad woman, who controls her husband every moves. By the way I will not be voting for Barack Hussein Obama. He is all talk and no substance. I will vote for the candidate that I value his core belief. I do not beleive in Barack Hussein Obama's communist rhetorics (wealth distribution). I do not believet hat all white people are evil. I love my country and has always been proud of it. I do not want to vote for someone who is willing to seat down and talk to our enemies without any precondition. I do not feel safe with a Barack Hussein Obama in the White House due to his associations, from Ayers, to Jeremiah Wright, to Flegher, to convicted criminal,Syrian-born Tony Rezko, to his childhood mentor, communist writer and poet Frank Marshall Davis, to his fellow Kenyan tribesman Raila Odinga, Muslim seeking to expand Islam in Kenya and who Barack Hussein obama suported in 2007, to his Pro-Palestinian Rashid Khalidi, former member of the PLO, and co-founder of the radical and anti-Israeli, pro-Palestinian Arab American Action Network (by the tape is still a mystery, allison, please call for the release of the tape by your leftist friends from the LA Times). You see why as a proud American, who happen to be black, I have to say NOBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Posted By: Kboogie @ 11/03/2008 7:25:19 PM

You mentioned "core values". If this represents YOUR core values, then, your vision is as archaic as McCain's.

You do know that McCain voted AGAINST the Civil Rights platform in 1990, voted AGAINST the Equal Pay Act for women, voted AGAINST the removal of the Confederate flag in SC (actually called it a symbol of the South's heritage), voted against the MLK holiday? Don't you? A "true patriot"???....I think NOT.

A true patriot fights for the EQUALITY of ALL Americans.

I think McCain's vision of how he wants America to look is very clear. NO THANKS!!!!

      • Posted By: kat48315 @ 11/03/2008 7:43:33 PM

ok, did you know that the Republican party was the one that wanted to abolish slavery and it is the Democrats that fough tooth and nail to prevent that from happening. It is only when the Democrats finally realized that they could not beat the Republicans that they decided to turn the tables and use the former slaves to their advantage.
The Democrats play on the emotions of the people. Just use the examples of Biden, when he said the it is "patriotic" to pay taxes or when NoBama said those that did not want to share their wealth are "selfish" and show no "compassion".
It amazes me how the people of this country can be so blinded by a man that can talk a good talk but has nothing to back it up. I hear one reporter say something like "all fluff and no substance". Why would anyone in their right mind vote a person in that will take our hard earned money and pass it one to those that have no motivation or goals in life. I can see the people that would benefit from Nobama's policies of "sharing the wealth", but I find it hard to believe that the majority of the people would actually support to hand over to what is still the minority of this country (people that are lazy and just looking for a hand out).

        • Posted By: rogerhall @ 11/03/2008 8:09:06 PM

We also know that the racists in the Democratic Party left it and moved to the Republican Party once LBJ signed it into law, so the whole "party" thing is pretty unimportant. What's important is that Barack Obama is an intelligent centrist who has a practical approach to dealing with the significant challenges responsible for allowing the US to fall far from first in every category but killin' folk.

        • Posted By: Kboogie @ 11/03/2008 7:54:50 PM

kat, I'm fully aware of the history of the 2 party's. I'm also very aware of McCain's voting record. And, since HE is running in THIS election, I think it's very important to know what HIS vision for this country has always been.

Don't you think that the candidates who are running for this election are MORE IMPORTANT than the party nominees from 200 years ago?

          Just curious.....

I am stunned ??? positively HOODWINKED ??? at the amount of angry republicans on this site. I have many republican acquaintances, and they do not behave this way. I guess that???s why I enjoy listening to their perspectives, even when we disagree.

Actually, it kind of reminds me of someone else ??? an elderly presidential candidate with a tendency to fly off the handle and mismanage his rage. You know - the one who always looks like he???s about to blow a blood vessel during all the debates? Gosh, WHAT is his name? Help me out, guys ??? the one who makes all the rash decisions and chose his VP candidate purely for political gain rather than the interests of the country? Darrell Hammond impersonates him on SNL? Always talking about his ???friends? ???Man, it???s on the tip of my tongue???

Oh, well. It???ll come to me

This moronic scumbag Samuel J. Wurzelbacher "Joe the Plumber" had his AZ driver license suspended

    http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/128323

Wurzelbacher, who lived in Mesa in 2000 and had an Arizona driver's license, had his driver's license suspended by the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division on May 4, 2000, following a nonpayment of a court-imposed fine for civil traffic violations, according to court records.

...owes nearly $1,200 in back taxes, according to public records, still owes more than $700 to the Mesa court system.

Records show he was cited for failure to stop at a red light and for failure to provide proof of insurance on Feb. 9, 2000, in a black Dodge truck at the intersection of Dobson and Baseline roads in Mesa.

After failing to pay his original fine of $627.50 issued in March 2000, his license was suspended and the fine was handed over to a collection agency along with a 16 percent surcharge. The now-resident of Holland, Ohio, still owes $727.90 to the Mesa Municipal Court, according to court records.

Hopefully the collection agency will break both of his legs so he'll never be able to walk nor work ever again. This typical Republican scumbag deserves it.

    • Posted By: rogerhall @ 11/03/2008 7:43:03 PM

Who said "just black women"? This article is one black woman saying she is excited about another black woman as a role model for us all. Which words or phrases did you feel were exclusionary?

      • Posted By: rogerhall @ 11/03/2008 7:45:29 PM

Ah - well, maybe not. Perhaps I just include myself rather than exclude myself ... my bad.

        • Posted By: rogerhall @ 11/03/2008 7:49:17 PM

Even so - she never said Michelle couldn't be a role model for green men. But is really so bad for her to be proud? Does being a role model for "black women" actually men that you *cannot* be a role model for others?

I'm not sure any part of this article deserves outrage; besides, the editors often influence the titles. I often complain about headlines myself, but they aren't actually there to describe the article, they are there to entice a possible reader. Wish it were different, but it aint.

    • Posted By: Kboogie @ 11/03/2008 7:34:23 PM

I agree. Let's place our anger in the right direction. We should be outraged at the author's choice for this title, not the Obama's.

I strongly doubt you are who you say you are and suspect by your tone and what you say you are just one of the paid/volunteers for McCain-Palin, maybe even posting under several IDs. There are several here who as part of the candidates campaign post with the real intent to manipulate peoples thinking and affect their voting; they are obvious in the BS they consistently offer and in their persistence with garbage that is already over used and rejected. In the end it is up to each of us to do our own thinking, to be objective and rational, to put aside our biases, prejudices and emotional attachments in order to make a real common sense and logical decision on what is best for ourselves and the country without letting the BS influence us. Good luck!

In desperation the McCain-Palin camp is stepping up their negative ads and dirty politics, again totally concentrating on the disgusting scare and smear tactics. They are depending on throwing out a lot of garbage and really just hoping something sticks. Voters??? common sense should prevail and simply render the low-class efforts as recognized and rejected. There are so many clear indications of the true nature of their continuing efforts that they should simply reflect negatively on McCain and Palin, such as: the obvious desperate attempts with previously discredited attacks; attacks of a highly fictionalized nature; their own neglect to address the issues with real specific solutions; their trying to fault Obama-Bidden and then just expecting voters to trust McCain-Palin, as if they have some (unproven) creditability; John McCain???s over use of the pronoun ???I???, as if it is just all about him; Sarah Palin???s obnoxious and arrogant disregard for honesty; John McCain???s poor judgment, with examples being displayed as the financial crisis unfolded and in his selecting Sarah Palin; Sarah Palin???s displayed lack of any real qualification; their grabbing at faulting George W Bush after strongly supporting him for eight years and even recently declaring that they ???had the same philosophies???; their copying most everything Obama identifies as being a problem and a needed direction; their changing their positions frequently; their lack of class and quality throughout their campaign, especially after John McCain promised better; their really offering only more of the same covered over with the very empty promise of change; and on and on. It is all there for any objective and rational person to see and then, we really just can???t withstand more of the same!

    Why just black women?

  • Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/03/2008 7:13:54 PM

???Nowforsomethingotherthanthetruth??? exemplifies the measures employed by the McCain campaign starting with the anonymous smear emails that began when McC hired the Bush propaganda machine.

This deception campaign tries to benefit from party loyalties. It preys upon hate, prejudice and fear, and on the ???unanswered questions??? fabricated by the anonymous emails this campaign perpetrated. Links to debunks of many of those fabrications are in an earlier posting.

This is by far the greatest extreme ever in American politics. It is a fundamental threat to our political process. It would further entrench the Bush operatives who took over the McC campaign, and the republican lobbyists who represent only the megarich who looted our economy.

McC was a maverick. He promised to root out the lobbyists he said are what???s wrong with Washington. He said he would not take the low road employed by the Bush machine when it smeared him. He sold out when he got behind and subscribed to the ideology that the end justifies the means.

McC would continue the Bush tax give away to the rich that McC previously opposed and called ???irresponsible??? because ???it only benefits the rich.???

McC now wants to give more billions in tax give aways to oil companies that have just reported the largest profits in history for two consecutive quarters, while he claims that lowering taxes for everyone under $250k in after-deduction income will somehow keep businessmen from starting businesses.

???Nowfor??? has employed many of the themes in the anonymous viral emails. He recently said it was ???revealed that Obama has PLO buddies??? referring to Rashid Khalidi to whom McC donated $440k:

    http://richmonddemocrat.blogspot.com/2008/10/mccain-funded-rashid-khalidi.html Guilt by association.

"Nowfor" continues repasting that the cause of our problem is a law decades old that encourages loans to qualified low income people.

Alan Greenspan said the cause is that an entire financial system was built outside of regulation; "we trusted" these self-interested looters ???to regulate themselves???. Credit Default Swaps resulted. They increased from $106 trillion in '02 to $531 trillion under R stewardship.

The legitimate news has reported that Fannie and Freddie paid many millions to McC's campaign manager, Rick Davis, who received up to $35K/mo. from Fannie and Freddie from 2000 to while he has been McC's campaign manager.

Trillions were looted from our economy because the Rs allowed it. The Rs, including McC's campaign manager, are in the pockets of big money.

Without solutions, it is necessary to campaign with deception, misdirection, fear, smears, hypocrisy.

Attempts to hijack our political process with deceit and abuse of the trust of party loyalties are reasons I'm voting for Obama after 40 years of never voted for a Dem.
