How can you say that Clinton was the person who started this? You may want to check your facts. We had the Highest empoyment rate PLUS the USA was, after many years or Reagenomics finally in the Black under him. Georgie Boy and his Buddies have us so far in the RED we may never see a way out
You and a number of people have brought up this point... I totally agree, but some people just don't want to face the facts.
I read these and can't help but wonder if anyone loving Barry has done their homework? W's budget deficit may have something do with the fact 911 happened right after he was elected. Then Barry has been supporting homes to those to poor to have them, more handouts! Then the WMD? It took congress so long to say "let's go" is it possible they moved any Nukes that was there? They want us all dead, they don't care if we are black or white. You have allowed the media, SNL, ;you name it to influence your votes if you vote for Barry Hussein Obama. (oh that's right, he doesn't like us to use his middle name) Radical Muslims all over the world must be laughing at just how stupid American voters can be. Even Al Quida came out in favor of McCain thinking that would convince voters to choose Barry since that is who they really want. Someone who when faced with a decision making time, will try and vote PRESENT since he doesn't have an original thought of his own to make. He didn't even have a record as a Community Organizer, but he's African American and a bunch of guilty feeling whites and racist blacks will vote for him no matter what he has done.
Wow, how can you stand to live in a country where the majority is so stupid?? How awful for you! And if you had read any international publications, you would know that most nations are showing a majority of support for Obama. So it must be the whole world that's not as smart as you! Must be terrible.
Comment: THERE IS NO GOD IN GOVERNMENT !!!!!! Keep your B.S morals and values to yourself
mswgrady7 - There is a God in government - look at the money in your pocket - In God We Trust in printed on it! If you don't like that reference to God, perhaps you should live somewhere else, say Russia?
And further, you sound very angry - anger is a sign of fear. What are you afraid of?
Afraid of losing my retirement...
Ok, let me brak this down into simple math:
Obama (Democrat)
House (Democratic)
Senate (Democratic)
Equals too far left!
The last time this happened, we were in the great depression folks. Obama doenst have much to work with! I dislike Bush, but the fact remains, the economy didnt get "very" bad untill the democrats took over senate... (and I'm an independant)
CORRECTION: The last time Dems controlled all houses is when WE GOT OUT OF THE DEPRESSION. Do your homework, the Repukes got us into the Depression (kinda like now) and it was Roosevelt that got us out of it. (that's why most repukes hate Roosevelt, because he helped the little people and created a middle class. The same middle class that Bush & Co. has once again tried to CRUSH, and he was very close to doing that.
So yeah, the 3 pary rule under Dems will be a good thing. All the Repukes like to cry out how congress has done nothing the past 2 years, excuse me but.... if the Repukes would not FILLABUSTER EVERYTHING, maybe they could get some business done. Looks like now we will, sit back and watch how GOOD govmt. is done!
Yeah!!!! Lets watch how DEMOCRAT Good GOVERNMENT does in the "White House" Maybe our children can learn more about sex in the Oval Office!!!!
It took the Democrats 12 years and WWII to get us out of the great depression.... Great job! Hopefully, Obama and the dems will have us on a sound economic platform by 2020 - thats great news. Do you want to wait for 20 years? I should hope not. Do you want to pay thru the nose in taxes? Hope not? You seem educated... I am sure you own a house or two. Do you want to pay 38% capital gains when you sell your houses? Hope not! How about estate taxes if any loved ones leave you ANYTHING? Sould an excessive amount of your esteate go to the government? Hell no. Now go vote for Obama so you can give away a massive amount of what you worked for and dont save any for your kids because they wont get the majority of it anyway...
Q. What years did Democrats control both the House and the Senate? A. For 40 years up until the 1994 elections.
Let's see, that includes Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, and part of Clinton. There goes your argument.
Wow..blog is unreal...it seems like everyone here wants to put someone down....not talking to the 3% of you who actually are explaining why you are voting one way or the other...but some people posting in all bold print and using foul language..and basically acting like racist bigots and who knows what else...Is this what America stands for? It shouldnt be...post why you are voting which way and stop trying to bring everyone else down...and saying that you will pray for someone...well Im sorry but thats not going to help...thats just going to tick someother people off...vote for your own reasons dont try to push your opinion on someone else...America is about your right as an individual to choose who want to vote for...post under this if you have any comments...
Well said!
In a perfect world, race would not matter and people would vote for the candidate that they thought were best suited for the position as President of the United States. But this is not a perfect world, and race is one of the driving forces behind this election. Yes, a great majority of black people are voting for Obama, but what many of you are missing is the fact that it's not because he is a black man, but because he is a QUALIFIED black man. He is not the first black person to run for president, but he is the first that the majority believe can truly do honor to the position. The post I have read on here truly disturb me because I cannot believe in this day and age that ignorance still runs so rampant through this country. If he had natually white skin with blonde hair and blue eyes this election would already be a landslide for the democratic party. It's time America woke up, "Joe Six Pack" is not the average American.
You ARE VERY RIGHT !! There are too many still seeing color over ANYTHING else .
We had tough times in the 70's, yes but we have tougher times now. Corporations have been running this country for way to long and its time to take the country back. The most startling question is in 2004, why would the American people vote for a party that just lied this country into a war? Bald face lied this country into a war and then long term occupation. Could there be anything more disgusting, sick and pathetic as this. People so brain washed to let this happen unchallenged and without consequences for the perpetrators of this kind of Treasonous act. And then still have the gall to scream Liberal Media. We need our constitution back to how it was intended. To protect the people and country from our own Armies power hungry officials and God.
To anybody who wants to "save the middle class",try saving yourselves. I am still in school so I have negative money right now, but guess what I am going to work my ass off to provide for myself and my family. If I don't succeed it will be all on me, I'm not going to blame the government for any short comings I am guilty of. All you people who need the governments help to get ahead in life have no backbone. I have gone to school while working full time and I take out student loans to pay for my education. If you want something out of life, go and get it. Do not rely on other people to help you out. Get some motivation and go and do something else if you are not happy with where your life is. IT IS POSSIBLE, lose the excuses.
I commend you on your hard work, vision, and tenacity. However, I would venture to guess I am a bit older than you and can tell you from experience that where you are now, I've been, as many members of my family have been. So no, I/we are not looking for a handout by voting for Obama. What we are voting for is a glimmer of hope. A glimmer that he will help us to hold onto what we have worked so hard to achieve. A glimmer that he can help others achieve. A glimmer that the middle class, which are the backbone of this country, will at long last get a much needed break. For you see, not everyone who goes to college and gets a degree automatically becomes a 6-digit salary maker. So with all due respect, until you are out of school and in the real world full time, with a family to fend for, and possibly the worry of having a son go off to war, please do not speak in generalities. For if you are as educated as you claim to be, it is unbecoming.
You took out student loans. By any chance, were they government guaranteed student loans?
Your comment is insulting. I have plenty of "backbone" and need help from the government. I work, go to school, and raise my child BY MYSELF. I assure you I "work my ass" off twice as hard as you do. If that doesn't take backbone, please explain to me what does. Try walking in someone's shoes before passing judgment.
When you decide to run for President, you'll have my vote.
scraphappy writes: "I would be more than happy to vote for an African American for president if he would stand for core family and Christian values,"
What part of separation of church and state don't you morons understand, I swear you are the same people as the Taliban, just different uniforms - sickens me to see since the 70's the Repugnican moral majority, dummying down of this country - blechhh, wanna vomit, need to puke!!!
Well said! I couldn't agree with you more!
CristalleR: You just proved my point...Racist you are! Name one thing your candidate has done instead of getting nasty against whites...IF YOU CAN!
repub4america...you must be one of the milllions of lazy, uneducated, unlicensed "Joe the plumbers" You must have never spend a day in the burning sun of Iraq. You must have never spent a day of you life fighting for our country. But, if you have..then you must have never deployed... Obama will bring the troops home, or atleast out of Iraq, the place you repubs put us. Dont forget McCain agreed with Bush 92% of the time. I dont know what planet you live in, but we as a nation are in trouble...and Bush put us here. As they say...."You can take a thug off the sreets, but you cant take the streets out of the thug." If McCain was with Bush 92% of the time, he'll carry on 92% of Bush's beliefs. US Soldier for Obama!
Bush was not the problem. We Americans seem to forget so easy, do you all forget 9/11 did you not say get the punks that did this. Grow up, what were you a paper pusher over ther. for you to say what you did in regards to men and women who did not deploy. shows who you really are.. You want some one who want to take your hard earned money the YOU work for and give it to some lazy punk who does not work, lives in gov asst. housing and will not get a job. But yet you will agree with him that if you make more money then the other then you should pay moretax..WHY..if that is the case then go and give your money away now, that way you know who is getting it..
If we were going to get the punks that pulled off 9/11, we would have been in Afgahnistan; not Iraq! That's where Bin Laden was then and where we should have been!
Comment: "to rock the vote" I'm not going to knock your work ethic, but both you and your husband chose your professions. Teachers, construction workers, retail workers, etc. all know how much money is in those careers before they CHOSE to go into them. I have no sympathy for someone because the CHOSE a low paying career. In fact, more power to the people who do. But don't try and make excuses about how "tight" things are or about how the middle class needs help. If money is important to you, you and your husband should have taken different career paths. For the record, I'm not calling anyone lazy. You made your bed, time to sleep in it.
I never said anything about a "low paying job". I did say that I got pregnant at 16, had her when I was 17 instead of an abortion. So yes, I made my bed and I have laid in it for 21 years now. Never went to college, was too busy trying to survive.
The best job I ever had (as a non-college educated) was as office manager making $19.00 an hour with health care and NO RETIREMENT (Republican owner of business). That is the same job that I got fired from for being "too political", ie., I didn't agree with him.
I currently make $14.00 an hr., not what I had before for over 5 years, so things have gotten worse. Already sold my house to downsize and go cheaper. (that must be my fault too huh). I have done what I can to make it day by day.
As for my husbands work, again never mentioned money amount, just the FACT that he (mr. graphic designer) could NEVER do the work my husband does. Sitting at a desk all day working on a computer is NOT THE SAME AS PHYSICAL LABOR, and someone who is not used to it, would never be able to do it day after day, year after year.
First to Nommy please leave out your racist political intolerance from your posts. It is too bad you have not been able to find facts regarding Senator Obama's record or an accurate biography of the man. It seems odd to me that you are worried about your civil liberties as W's agenda was filled with legislation (like the patriot act) which limited our civil rights and bill of rights protections. W also used signing statements to ignore the law of the land which he swore to uphold.
, the best man is John McCain.......people are saying it's not about race, but unfortunatly yes it is, the whole world is abut race........you have "black history month" why not white history month? you have you hispanic celebrations, and so forth, and it is only going to get worse, Obama wants "CHANGE" again after he is done with his "CHANGE" that is all we will have left in our pockets.....I have voted and yes it was McCain I would rather live in a cardboard box than vote for Obama, but then again if he gets voted in that is where alot of people are go to end up
You got Columbus day. The man has a day and he didn't even discover America!! If you want a White history month, present it to your congressman. Better yet, educate yourself on why there is a Black history month, hispanic celebrations, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Day, etc. Everyone needs to know how minorities have helped shape America. Wouldn't you like to know the struggles and triumph of another ethnic group other than your own?? Why don't you take time and learn about different walks of life of other people instead of whining about what you don't have b/c in reality you've been getting it all your life.
You have white history month - the other 11 months of the year! Check your history books! Just like blacks have BET, Whites have ABC, CBS & NBC! Lord, they know not what they have. SAD!!!!!!! To hope that this election would be for ALL the people seems hopeless with all these comments.
All of you who still have faith, get out there and vote. I am signing off for the night. Let your heart guide the decision you will make. It will not only effect you, but everyone else.

I vote because I can. I vote because I live in the United States of America. Not only is it my right, it's my duty as an American. I don't want to vote for either one of the candidates. From personal experience with the elderly as one of the many American's in the "sandwich" generation, McCain is too old to be President and his running mate does not have enough experience to lead this great country if McCain should die in office. On the other hand, I do not share the opinions of Obama and do not think he has enough experience to lead our great country. I work my b&tt off and own a small business, I employ two part timers, I pay my own medical insurance, I already pay too much in taxes, and Obama tells me I make too much money and will be paying more taxes. I have not made up my mind yet and will have to make a choice between two less than acceptable candidates when I have that ballot in my hands. I will most likely vote for McCain and hope that he doesn't die in office. I feel its a no win situation.
What's wrong with bussing people from poverty areas to vote? Just because you believe they will vote for someone you wouldn't vote for doesn't discount them. I think it's fine to disagree with a candidate's stance on issues, and not to want them in office, but the point you made about the busses is off-topic. Stating that poor people have no idea what they're voting for is arrogant. And you're forgetting all the young white males who are thinking along the same lines, and voting for Obama.
Just because someone is Muslim doesn't mean that they automatically hate christianity. You don't have to agree with another religion's views, but being tolerant of other people's beliefs is one of the great ideals of this country. Name-calling does not help your point.
Wow...I find the hate, hostility, aggression and lack of empathy toward each others views unbelievable. What we need is a leader who will unite us, inspire us and motivate us to be the best "united people" not "individual people" we can be. Let's start by treating each other with the respect we each deserve.
