To: lowieh7: Bush and Palin are the ones who have been lying over and over again, constantly saying that Obama has said things that he has NEVER said. And everyone making over $250,000 really need to get a grip. You're worried about your taxes? The rest of us are worried about our homes and our children, education, affordable health care. Stop being so greedy and get your priorities straight.

Yes, but I dont want to buy your kids education or your healthcare. My wealth is my wealth. Its not greed, its hard work that has gone unseen! Ive worked my aZZ off to get here and I dont want to give it away!

Then you need to take your money and go live by yourself on an island, pal. This is a "society" - that means we're all in this together.

Check the facts and read written articles by all public syndications. McCain/Palin are in the public eye therefore scrutinized by every word they say. Not one major public syndication has called them liars. Check the facts instead of your emotions.

Making $250,000.00 wow, can't even imagine. But I work every day and pay my taxes, put food on my table and heat in my home. It is "Our" country that I am worried about. Without that we won't even need a home!!

I'm from Illinois. I haven't seen the improvements in our state from the leadership of Barack. And those who say we need a new direction, can you inteligently discuss the root of the financial crisis? McCain has said he is not the brightest on the economy, yet I have heard him make some points that really make sense to me. He must have some really good advisors. Obama's advisors? Jim Johnson who got a 'golden parachute'? The last time the Democrats held the majority in both Senate, Congress and the White House, we had some rough times (the late 70's) We are headed for that again. Obama targeted young voters, because most of them don't remember that time. The people who ran business in that time that I have talked to know exactly the bad times we can look forward to with Obama.

bellarose, you brainwashed bitch. Go out and look at it on Youtube. Not doctored one bit. Sheep! You are the sheep! Obamahood promised you "ice cream", now come get it. Just like Germany in the 30's. People are so infatuated by their smooth talking Hitler, that they fail to see that he is going to ruin all of us. Just like Nazi Germany, you are a sheep! Repression is coming my fellow McCain supporters. You better exercise your rights to free speech before Obamahood takes the oathe. I'm going to cling to my gun and my bible tonight, How bout you?

Against what many of you believe and/or saying, what this economy needs is John McCain. Obama may have the quick fix or he may have put a veil over our eyes but John McCain is in this for the long run benefits.
We will struggle for a while but that doesn't mean it is because of Bush's administration. Our economy was on the way down long before that, it just wasn't as visible. It happens people. Downturns are natural in economic situations- but the answer is not a quick fix and the answer is not in Obama.

When 43 took office almost eight years ago, the economy was doing very well, thank you very much. This financial crisis and the recession happened on 43's watch, and there's no passing the buck on that.

I love that you think an educated person would say "She sucks!" I guarantee you don't even know where she stands on most issues. The face is Palin and McCain are intelligent and experienced people who will hopefully be put into office. I know who important Israel and the war is and Obama doesn't have enough experience to know that you can't just take the troops out. It's scary to think that we could become friendly with people who bomb our country for their own religous purposes. We're all people who love, but they will not stop hating our God loving country NO MATTER WHAT!!! Hope everyone makes it out to the polls every vote counts.

    • Posted By: gnbsimps @ 11/04/2008 3:08:02 PM

I would think an educated person would know why they bombed us. I guess not. It was people like McCain voting on policy that he couldn't possibly understand, to appease his lord and master. Messing in foreign affairs, back door deals, then turning a blind eye and not speaking to the countries.. nice plan. How's that working for ya genius?

Being one of those undecided voters, I didn't make my final decision until I walked into that polling booth last week. I think both of these men have good qualities and not so good qualilties. I gave both a fair and equal shot at earning my vote. So what swayed my decision, you may ask? My reasons are simple: (1) I don't want my sons going back to Iraq/Afghanistan; (2) Healthcare, or lack thereof; (3) Sarah Palin (if I hear, "doncha know" or "you betcha" one more time, I shall scream!); (4) John McCain is too much like "W" and I fear if he is in the White House, it's four more years of the same. McCain just didn't prove to me he will do things differently and let's face it .. the status quo just isn't working!

I realize Obama may not be 100% of what I'd like to see in a president, I don't think he could be any worse than what we've endured for the last 8 years and I'm willing to give him 4 years to prove himself. Time will tell!

    • Posted By: wolverine30 @ 11/04/2008 2:59:54 PM

Obama is GUILTY OF SCREWING UP THE ECONOMY...AT LEAST THE MORTGAG PART...If you actually took some time to uncover who pressured Fannie and Freddie to loan money to un-creditworthy individuals (more than likely for the sake of change) you would find that the Junior Senator from the state of IL---Mr. Obama, is at the CENTER of the whole mess---loans were written, the fed insured them, and now we (at least those of us who work) are paying the bill. By the way, did you know that Sen. Obama took $$$ contributions from Fannie at levels higher than ANY OTHER? John Kerry has been on the "payroll" for over 20 years (to Obama's 6) and only managed 3rd in "donations" Try to read a bit more before you get all emotional and start shouting for "CHANGE"...this is clearly the change to come with an obama-biden administration!

Who was at the center of the housing crisis in the 80's...OBAMA too?? I'm sure Fannie and Freddie has been heading for disaster long before Obama came into play. SallieMae is headed that way too. But your boy McCain "the maverick" has been in the Senate a long time. Why couldn't he stop it??

  • Posted By: jargenis @ 11/04/2008 2:47:06 PM

First and formost, I would like to thank everyone, and I mean everyone is sharing your thoughts and opinions. In order for there to be equality/unity, which is something that I think everyone wants as human beings. With this being said, what is unity / equality? It all varies for everyone, there is no set way to live a life, to choose if life is or is not (abortion). We all have our reasons, excusings, popular approved facts. The thing about presidents is that whom ever is elected will not be office for ever, we are a government for the people and ran by the people. That is why we have these elections, to stand up contribute your vote, opinions, arguements, and points. But, in all my years of listening to people argue, debate, and never win is one thing. Usually one or both people make the other person wrong for having an opinion. Are they truly wrong, or does that opinion just not work for you? I would hope that it just doesn't work for you. Because it's when you make a person wrong that creates tension, feuds, arguements, and conflict. When it comes to elections there is only one thing that I'm am concerned with, and that is the truth, regardless of what color (blue, red, black, tan, what ever). I'm committed to the happiness and progession of the human race, and which ever condidate offers a better solution is the person that gets my vote.

I encourage everone to really get clear what they are commited to for yourself, family, country, and humanity. Don't focus somuch on what the other person said that you didn't like, but to just being given the right/opportunity to do so is a charished gift in itself.

So, stop bickering so much about others and just speek for yourselves. Less stress, worry, hate, anger, pain, and suffering.

I heard once some where and great man say, 'be the change you wish to see in the world.' What change do you want to be? Then go out and be the person that it will take to make that change rather than argue about something that you have no control over. Example: other's opinions, thoughts, excuses, and feelings. Be selfish and focus on yourself.

Excellent. Most folks posting on this blog are letting their selfishness shine. What makes our Country great is that we have the opportunity to express our opinions and actually have different opinions. That's what stimulates change, growth, success.

I don't want a leader who refers to a racist as his mentor...I don't want a leader who allows babies to be murdered..I don't want a leader who refers to middle class as making up to 250,000 annually,, that makes me lower than poverty level. I don't want a leader who wants me to pay for health care of those in this country illegally and yet Payhigh cost for me and my family. I don't want a leader that has no experience with military except what he heard from his grandfather...I don't want a leader who spends billions on his own cable network channel and to also purchase 30 minutes of prime time on 3 networks. I don't want a leader to tell me what is right or wrong with my religious beliefs. I don't want a leader who refuses to produce his birth certificate that would prove he is actually a natural born citizen of the United States. If you vote for this person.. GOD HELP US ALL!!!

To SarahJane, if Obama is president the first thing that he wants to do it put back the right for partial-birth abortion for women in America, which means a woman can carry a child for 9 months and then all of a sudden decide she doesn't want the child and have it killed upon birth, he called women getting pregnant that don't want to be, a mistake, if woman are not protected they shouldn't be laying down. There is to much birth control out there to be unprotected. Don't tell me he is not a baby killer. As for being a christian, he is not displaying that lifestyle with his morals and values in the toilet. People that are Christians are blessed to be because they are guided by the hand of God and thier choices they make if they allow God to lead them are good ones and it is a lifestyle led in all areas of ones life, including in the white house..

    • Posted By: looksatissues @ 11/04/2008 2:08:07 PM

Jesus would have been a Democrat. The original Christians helped the widowed, poor, and sick. There will always be people who take advantage of the system, but that doesn't mean, as good Christians, that we should turn our backs on all of them. I do not agree with abortion; however, I do believe that it is not my right to judge. I will leave that to the Allmighty, as it should be.

      • Posted By: meadord @ 11/04/2008 2:25:16 PM

Jesus would NOT have been a Democrat and have the masses mooching off government. He would be a Republican who is against abortion and he would want the poor to educate himself and not perpetuate the cycle of poverty.

        • Posted By: micountry1979 @ 11/04/2008 3:01:36 PM

Jesus would have a been an independent b/c he would do things in accordance w/his father's will. If that's voting for or against aborotion, helping folks out of poverty, or whatever. Who ever you are voting should also do the same. YOU ARE NOT TO JUDGE ANYBODY, YOU ARE NOT WITHOUT SIN.

Our society doesn't allow the president's first priority to be that of reinstating a woman's right, I'm fairly certain he'll be focusing on the economy and the war...
As far as not displaying Christian attitudes and behaviors...the Republican party doesn't act like Christians when they don't want to allow abortions, but won't support the children that are here and the many more who would be brought into the world. The numbers for women waiting until they go into labor, after 9 months of carrying a fetus, and then aborting it are probably pretty small. There are several medical problems that can't be detected until later in the pregnancy and the safest way (for the mother) to abort the baby is by partial-birth. How disgusting of you to say "if [women] are not protected they shouldn't be laying down." A man has no responsibility in preventing an unwanted pregnancy??

Obama has no respect ofr our nations flag. He refuses to place his hand over his heart during hte national anthem due to hatred of the USA from his MUSLIM brothers.

    Quotes form OSAMA BIN BARACK

From Sunday's Televised "Meet the Press" Senator Obama was asked about
his stance on the American Flag. Obama Explains National Anthem Stance

Sun, 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, General Bill Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked
Obama to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National
    Anthem is played.

The General also stated to the Senator that according to the United
    States Code,

Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171... During rendition of the national
anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform
are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand
over the heart. At the very least, "Stand and Face It"

Senator Obama Live on Sunday states, "As I've said about the flag pin, I
don't want to be perceived as taking sides, Obama said. 'There are a lot
    of people in the world
to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem
itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air
and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less
bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing.' If
that were our anthem, then I might salute it."We should consider to
reinvent our National Anthem as well as to redesign our Flag to better
offer our enemies hope and love. It's my intention, if elected, to
disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren.
If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct ourselves as the
nations of Islam, whereas peace prevails. Perhaps a state or period of
mutual concord between our governments. When I become President, I will
seek a pact or agreement to end hostilities between those who have been
at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting
oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation have placed upon the nations of
Islam an unfair injustice. My wife disrespects the Flag for many
personal reasons. Together she and I have attended several flag burning
ceremonies in the past, many years ago. She has her views and I have
mine". Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President
of the United States and I have put aside my hatred. I will use my power
to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path of hope.
My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country's First Family.
Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America.

Do your research people. Obama is NOT a Muslim, he did NOT say that the American Flag is a symbol of oppression to some people, he did NOT say that the National Anthem should be "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing", among the many other things people have accused him of doing and saying. It disheartens me to know that people will vote a certain way because they believe everything that they read. And then without a thought, continue to spread the lies, without even researching what they are passing on.

Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian, that from his mother. What those who want Mr. Obama to write history by becoming "America's first African-American president" ignore is that his father was ethnically Arabic, with only 1 relative ethnically African Negro - a maternal great-grandparent (Sen. Obama's great-great grandparent, thus the 6.25% ethnic contribution to the senator's ethnic composition.). That means that Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side. He is 43.75% Arabic, and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side. Put another way, his father could honestly claim African-American ethnic classification. He was the last generation able to do so."
The question no one wants to answer - particularly Mr. Obama and his supporters, is, "Why do you think he has an Arabic name? Why does his father have an Arabic name? Why does every ancestor on his father's side have an Arabic name?" The answer is obvious: They have Arabic names because his father's side of the family tree is Arabic. Need proof? Research the Kenyan records for yourself. You will find that his father was officially classified as "Arab African" by the Kenyan government.
