Janewhite...you realize the senate is currently made up of democrats at the moment...correct? Why should others support you, call your parents, not the government....you should be ashamed asking for handouts...as far as the job market...i see now hiring signs all over....I feel I should not be held liable & forced to take money out of my pocket & away from my families needs to support everyone else....You are also stereotyping on the whole Republican party. You want to talk about selfish, how about all those unborn children's lives you are murdering, because you think its YOUR body.....now that is selfish to me!

Measuring by some of anti Obama comments, it shows that education is still not at the level required for the average American to make an intelligent rhetoric. "Appearance over substance" still is the core life style of the average American citizen. I can only hope that Americans are willing to really look beyond their own borders, and not get their information about Europe from the myopic "celebrity style"/nationalistic American news media like CNN or FoxNoise. As for Obama being a socialist, looking at his political convictions he is not even close to being that. Notwithstanding, Social Democrat systems have worked well all over Western Europe. Having lived on both continents, I can attest that Europeans enjoy more actual freedom than Americans.

PS: For those who feel the need, now you can tell me: Love it or leave it, you piece of Euro-trash!! :)

No, that is the democrats dear - the ones who want to "Spread the Wealth" Well, lets see Obama spread some of his wealth to say.....mmmm.... well maybe his Aunt??? Yeah right, he's not about to spread his "wealth" but he sure will spread ours directly to those that plan on sitting on their rear ends for the next four years collecting paychecks from yours truly!!!

      • Posted By: BrittanyB @ 11/04/2008 12:50:37 PM

He will spread his wealth according to his plan to raise taxes on those earning $250,000 or more. He makes more than that.

Wow our country is filled with a bunch of ignorant individuals. Just when I think it's not as bad as I think. We put on a show for the entire world to see our short comings. First, Obama is half black and half white. Get over his ethnicity. By claiming to vote for him because of the color of his skin is disgusting and non of you should have the right to vote. That goes for both black and white AMERICANS. Please educate yourself on what you are voting for. Second, this just shows me how strong racism is in America. Racism is now in it's next phase. It has become ok for blacks to make racist comments without any consequence. Sooner or later white americans will get tired of it and retaliate which will just set us further back. All the work that has been done by the Dr. King's, Rosa Parks and several other quality leaders will long be forgotten. In this day and age it is time to come together and make a difference. I believe we can all live together, we just need to get to know each other. We should all be proud to say "I am an American" regardless of race. I am pleading with all of you join together as one before it is too late.

Once again, uninformed people having oppinions based on political propaganda. President Bush is not responsible for the economy crashing. The banking/mortgage industry is. The economy goes up and down with time not presidencies! McCain backed bush 95% of the time not 90%. But, how many other republicans and democrats voted the same way? Don't we need at least 50% to get something passed.

As for Obama--------143 days in the senate seat! How is he qualified. The PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES is not the type of position I would want somebody that has to have on the job training.

    • Posted By: anonymous08 @ 11/04/2008 1:41:44 PM

How can you be sure that Mccain can make the economy better and Obama can't ? That is something that has to be seen once the person is in office. My vote is for Obama because America needs a change in the wihte house. Why not Obama. All politicians promise things, but you can't be sure what a person can do until they are in office.

Sadly, it looks as if Obama is going to win (I guess the polls have got it wrong a time or two before--But nonetheless). Just get ready for a political tap dance---or obama polka, because there is no way that he can keep all of his promises---I can't wait to see this whole thing play out, what a snake-oil salesman...oh, I mean community organizer---Go US-KKK-A (quote from Rev. Wright)

well, for all that if Mccain wins go round 2 for another Bush, and by by economy! Can't do no worse than Bush did right?

If you actually took some time to uncover who pressured Fannie and Freddie to loan money to un-creditworthy individuals (more than likely for the sake of change) you would find that the Junior Senator from the state of IL---Mr. Obama, is at the CENTER of the whole mess---loans were written, the fed insured them, and now we (at least those of us who work) are paying the bill. By the way, did you know that Sen. Obama took $$$ contributions from Fannie at levels higher than ANY OTHER? John Kerry has been on the "payroll" for over 20 years (to Obama's 6) and only managed 3rd in "donations" If you hated Bush, I am sure that you will be leaving the country?????

No wonder the world views us as ignorant, self centered, racist and war mongering - judging by most of the comments on here THAT'S EXACATLY WHAT WE THINK OF EACH OTHER.
    I agree with ECARR.

I don't care if the President is black or white, what I care about is whether the President is PATRIOTIC and will be a good example of patriotism and pride for The United States of America. What I care about is whether the President will stand up for the values this country is based on, but what I'm afraid of is that people are just going to vote for Obama because they want a black President. I'm tired of being told whites are prejudice when for many years I have seen it the other way around. Today, whites are the ones being oppressed. Is there a United White College Fund? I wish there had of been when I was a kid because I didn't have the money to go to school and would have loved to have been able to. I see some (not all) minorities taking advantage of he freebies given to them because they are NOT white, and when I needed help, I was refused because I WAS white. That is not right. I just wish everyone would quit worrying about black, brown, white, or whatever and treat ALL PEOPLE FAIR!! And also, if you want to live in America, don't EXPECT us to learn YOUR language. Learn English! I would NOT go to another country and be offended if they did not know my native language in their country, I would learn theirs before I went over there!

It is amazing to see how ignorant people still are with all of the technology that there is out there today. I am a white male that is married and support Obama. There are just as many if not more white trash that use the government as a means of living than working. I have a great uncle that stated he would not vote for Senator Obama because he is black. It is truly sad that people still feel that way. Laidylittlebit, places such as Finland and Canada have universal health and they do not have a problem. Obama will have Colin Powell in his cabinet so that should ease your fears of his lack of military experience. The powers of the world such as Germany and England prefer that Obama be elected because they see in him the change that needs to take place. Laidy, if your thinking that everyone does not deserve healthcare bc of long lines at the doctors office then you need a reality check and need to be educated. Another person that lives on lies from the McCain camp. Strike fear in those who are scared of change and do not know any better. I guess that is why we live in America so that ignorant people can express their opinions.

As far as this election gos, it seems to me that alot of people are not looking at this with there eyes wide open. First i feel the most African Americans are voting for Obama because of his race. And the same goes with the Mc Cain supporters they don't want Oama in there so they are voting for his race. Nobody that I see is looking at the overall picture.
How can anybody vote for a man that well not acknowledge the American Flag and our national anthum (OBama) so I am supposed to belive this man well take care of our country. What about McCain? He has his past with Greoge Bush and has voted in favor of most of his decissions. Look where that has gone. How can I trust that.
So what am I supposed to do about this. I am vetren, a tax payer. I belive in my country and all of our servicemen and women that are out there putting there lives on the line for our country. what this country needs is someone that looks at everybody as been equal and does his best for our country first. I feel that I am beening forced into voting for someone I don't belive in just to say that I voted. i choose not to vote for either one. Everybody can stay that I can not complain about anything if I don't vote. But as long as that I am a tax payer I still have the right to voice my opinion. I voted for Greoge Bush both times and feel that I am somewhat responsible for the way this country is now. I don't want that feeling again. So give me someone that I can believe in.

miamijer, not calling McCain stupid. However, he is a priveleged son who has led a priveleged life. I know all about his sacrifices for his country, respect him highly for them, but all in all that has been his test. Obama came from nothing and made something of himself by through his own work ethic and intelligence. You don't come from a "broken", muloti-racial home in this country and just get passed up the ladder "because", he didn't get any preferential treatment because of who his daddy was or because he knew the right people growing up. As to temperment, well, for one example, his choice of running mate seems to be a less rash choice. A one-hour interview to decide who could run the country if he is not able to? Oh, yeah, it was all about bringing the votes, never mind she can't answer non-scripted questions. Talk about who you want answering the phone at 3:00 AM...

I can't believe you're that ignorant! How many people do you know that went to the high class schools Obama has attended. I have worked hard all my life, served my country in the U.S Army and The U.S.M.C and I still am not any closer to attending anything other than my state College. How does anyone that comes from meager beginnings attend Harvard or Yale and then be forthcoming about his hate of America. The only place that could have happened is the country he hates. For you people that think a vote for Obama is a vote against war you are mistaken, According to the self proclaimed messiah he wants to leave Iraq only to go to Afganistan. I believe war is necessary to ensure people from all over the world have the same Human Rights that we have here in America. How would you like to come home and find your family was hurt by an intruder and the police would not respond because because they no longer believed in the necessary force it takes to protect you. The 911 dispatcher would politely tell you that everyone should just try and get along so there is just peace and love while your family is being hurt. America is the world's 911. Get used to it.
I'd rather vote for O.J Simpson

Obama should be the next president of the United States. I think his views are strong and morals for the country are what we need right now. Mccain has great views as well, but with Palin running by his side he destroyed his chances of ever becoming the next US President. If she was to take offices her morals are as fake as she is. She has been caught in so many lies you can't belive what comes out of her mouth. Coming from a family that has money, but not to her standards she does not understand the things we need and if Mccain was to ever pass and for her to take over that would be the end of the US and your Voice of Speeh. Vote Obama!!!

You really must be kidding, right, you aren't serious about what you wrote. Have you taken a look at Joe Biden? Don't talk to me about someone who is capable of running this country. I would take Palin in a New York minute over Biden. I don't see how you think he has morals above Palin. The man made over 9 million dollars in a year and know what he gave to charity? How bout $750.00. Yea tell me how he feels about his fellow man. You are blind and would know morallity if it hit you between the eyes.

What Obama was talking about had nothing to do with stopping coal miners. He said we need to keep working on finding a clean way to burn it.And he has also said we need to save our planet and that we need to make theses rich companies oil included work to do that.Clinton had nothing to do with how bad Bush screwed things up.Bush started this war for no other reason then to make is daddy proud of him and pad their alreaddy fat pockets with oil money. As for the abortion thing, who the hell is anyone else to say what us wemon do with our bodies. And not all lower income people are on welfare.Who do you think runs the work force. It is us that make very small amounts of money that bust our a s ses to do the crap jobs we need done.I work 2 jobs to try to take care of my kid, and still can't afford insurance.Who would make your burgers at burger king to get your butts so fat if not us.

Judging by the comments posted here, it's no wonder the most of the world views us as ignorant, racist, war mongering, and self-centered---apparently that's exactly what we think of each other. Reguardles of whom you support or who wins, we as a nation are all in this together. Take a break from all the finger pointing and blame tossing and look in the mirror. What have YOU done to better your community, your workplace, yourself? Humble yourself and realize that though we may disagree, we share a collective future and need to stop focusing on "me" and "I' and work together for the benefit of us as a nation. Maybe your guy won't win, maybe he will. Reguardless of who does, tomorrow we will all get up with same problems facing us as yesterday and we had better learn to deal with these problems together instead of wasting more time assessing blame and name calling like children in a school yard.
