Blah, blah and more distorted blahs. As a loyal democrat I voted for Obama although I know McCain has a good chance of winning. One thing you can't take away from McCain is experience. He's been in the political trenches for a long time and knows the inner workings of government and what goes on from day to day. Unfortunately he's a loyal republican who had no choice but to follow the reigning powers that be.
For the long awaited black hope for Afro-americans, I sense it's time for redemption. Obama's an enigma and has the smarts to function as president. After all he's a lawyer and so is his wife. What more can you ask for. He blends with the common man. There are no hang-ups with Obama, a man who worked hard to get to where he is. We desperately need a change and if McCain wins I pray he follows his own path and not Busch's.

Obama is a elequent orator able to suck in the uneducated masses with his fine words. McCain is not skilled in such a manner. He has been forced to use his campaign in a way to try and bring Americans out from under the "thrall" of Obama's fancy words. Which is all they are. Words. He has no experience to back them up. If Obama wins today, his voters are in for a rude awakening. He will take this country down the slippery road to socialism and that's not what we really want.

By the way, ThinkingBeing, trickle down economy worked exactly how Regan predicted. The fruition of his plan came about during Clinton's administration and credit was improperly given. You might want to do a little more research on the topic.

In the finacial crisis the government should have bailed out the american people who would have in return the american people would pay this money to the coroprations and they would have money too. instead they give money striagth to the corporations and the american people have still not received any releaf.

This is in repsonse to IAMFREE29. Perhaps if you were educated on the religious views of the candidates you would know that Barack Obama is a CHRISTIAN!!! Your ignorance and generalizations are based on misleading information. His father is of African decent and his mother is white. He is not Muslim and is not going to bomb our country. I mean really that is just absolutley ridiculous. You don't want generalizations to be made about Bush or the republican party don't be a hippocrite and misrepresent the WHOLE muslim religion.

    • Posted By: kerri_star101 @ 11/04/2008 12:39:16 PM

Hey...Obama is a Christian huh? What do you think of his view that we all have an inner power...that sounds more agnostic to me...definitely not Christian...

You probably saw this in an email that's been forwarded by an Obama smearer. This was a piece of satire. It was written by John Semmens. He has a satire article called "Semi-News" and some dummy took it from his column and started forwarding it as an email of truth. Obama WAS NOT on Meet the Press on September 7th.

    • Posted By: TheTess @ 11/04/2008 12:38:47 PM

This is in reaction to the post below that purports Obama explaining his stance on the American Flag allegedly from a Meet the Press show that didn't happen.

IAMFREE29 - you were doing OK with your commentary until you got to the religious bigotry part and then you lost me. Admit it, you're a bigot. A bogot is a bigot and it comes out one way or the other.

Obama is a Christian, but even if he was a Muslim, does that automatically disqualify him from being president. There are a number of reasons why one would not want to vote for Obama, but religious bigotry is not one of them, and I am betting you're not just a religious bigot.

god have mercy on war mongering, uneducated republicans that dont realize that they have been and will be used again and again by the likes of McCain, who constantly prey on unfounded fears with calls to patriotism and anti-socialism, but what is more patriotic: Helping your fellow american, or throwing them under the bus.

Please, if you are U.S. Citizen Vote, Your Vote can be the difference. I cant tell you who to vote for, the only thing I can say is to do a research on both candidates and who ever you think is willing to help your community, vote. Hispanics can make the difference this elections only if We Vote.

It's all about the Ice Cream

The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third

grade in 2008. The presidential election was heating up and some of

the children showed an interest. I decided we would have an election

for a class president. We would choose our nominees. They would make a

campaign speech and the class would vote.

To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class

members We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students

should have. We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia

were picked to run for the top spot.

The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates

were good kids. I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got

lots of parental support. I had never seen Olivia's mother. The day

arrived when they were to make their speeches Jamie went first. He had

specific ideas about how to make our class a better place. He ended by

promising to do his very best. Every one applauded. He sat down and

Olivia came to the podium. Her speech was concise.

She said, "If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream." She sat down.

The class went wild. "Yes! Yes! We want ice cream."

She surely would say more. She did not have to. A discussion followed.

How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure.

Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it. She didn't

know. The class really didn't care. All they were thinking about was

ice cream. Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a landslide.

Every time Barack Obama opens his mouth he offers ice cream, and fifty

percent of America reacts like nine year olds. They want ice cream.

The other fifty percent know they're going to have to feed the cow.

To Coexist: ROFL, are you retarded enough to think the war in Iraq (learn to spell it right you idiots) is about oil? If so, our gas prices would be....what.....$1.07/gal. (of which $1.06 of that would be taxes your treehugging pansies put in to stop some farce like global warming) I am glad we are there and the terrorists keep sending their warped little pinheads to blow themselves up in the desert instead my downtown streets. Stay there and keep them distracted. Peace will not come to all, so stop dreaming of your candyland with Streisand singing in the background.

The mantra for "Change" has been like a senerio of seeing a great marketing campaign for a terrible movie. The advantage of reality over this senerio is that one can actually read the "script" of the movie before they buy a ticket. There is no such thing a free lunch. Success and accomplishment come at a very high price and require years of dedication and hard work...but anything is possible in this country if one truly takes ownership and responsibility for their own life. A lot is going to change under an Obama-Biden administration and the tennants of liberalism will be common place...reward mediocracy and if you can't win the game, then change the rules. Funny how most liberals want to jam Darwinism/evolution down your throat, but shy away from the whole idea of "survival of the fittest (best prepared)" There can't be one without the other! Read the plan and apply logic...truth is that it dosen't add up in America---but it does make perfect sence in a socialist republic!

Lighten up you guys. America is many things. If the rest of the world had half the morals and compassion as America the world would be a lot better place to live. Even with all the bad America has done we are still the good guys at the end of the day. And I want to say that the choices we have for this alection are far better than last time. aloha

Obama wants chande but change has to come from the people not the president, and he should be starting with his wife since she isn't proud of the United States as she said on TV. I spent 2 years in the military and I didn't always like what was goimg on but I have always been proud to be a US citizen. Obama wants change but will it be for everyone or just the black people and him. I have been alover the world and in the US people get away with everything. I don't care what color u are or who u are we as a country have to start standing up for our people. We have people with no medcial care, can't get a job , some families can't even feed themselfs.

Obama is still not telling the truth about so many things, and a dishonest President will bring many problems to our nation

    • Posted By: Wes916 @ 11/04/2008 12:33:26 PM

I'm just curious.....Have you even listened or watched McCain at all? If you think this man is a good fit for the White House, then you have serious issues.

  • Posted By: Ted in MN. @ 11/04/2008 12:33:04 PM

I have the ultimate respect for John McCain - a true American hero and who has served our great country well. That said, at this time, we don't need a warrior. We need a leader to focus on America while responsibly flexing America's world-wide might. Our world is becoming smaller and more interdependent - tolorance of others to whom disagree with our way of life; and a strong, deadly reaction to those to whom attempt to hurt our country and fellow countrymen/women. Band together my fellow citizens, we are entering a brave new world.

Obama has many issues he has not answered and has told many lies. A President that lies will cause many problems in our Nation. Wait and see! His 20 second raw raw speches will not hold up once in office And all you that vote for him will then be forced to lie yourselves

    • Posted By: Wes916 @ 11/04/2008 12:31:55 PM

What type of issues does he have? What kinds of lies has he told? I'm so glad we have an insider that knows so much about the next President of the United States.

    • Posted By: ready4change08 @ 11/04/2008 11:57:31 AM

Are you kidding me? '...a president who lies will cause many problems in our Nation.' What do you think George W. has been doing for the past 8 years?? Weapons of Mass Destruction? You need to enlighten yourself--they all lie, it's just that some lies are more significant than others.
