Stop the Bush bashing....it is a dead horse. We went to hell in a handbasket after your treehuggers gave congress back to the socialist liberals. Compare today to 2006 prices. Love the job the dems did in creating the foreclosure mess by preaching anyone and everyone should be allowed to get a mortgage. I pray for the troops, but am glad we are playing an away game. You whining liberals would be hiding under your coffee tables or telling Katie Couric how afraid you were when the bombs went off 20 miles from your commune. Don't even get me started on spending. Your best bet to curb that is hope none of them get voted in, and that the rest of the worthless lawyers you voted in before go away.

"You can fool half the people all of the time, and those are the ones you want to focus on." -- George W. Bush, March 2000, during a Georgetown constituants dinner

I was just reading a couple of comments and have been thinking about them. My thoughts about Obama are technically he is not "black". I think he can fairly represent all ethnicities and look past "colors". The world is not purely "black and white" He has been exposed to a rainbow of cultures and I believe he was raised to respect other people and other cultures. I believe he could learn a lot about these people he has surrounded himself with ,as many have mentioned, and yet you can stay true to your own inner person. I believe anyone in politics is exposed to all kinds of people and I cannot for one minute believe that McCain doesnt have a few questionable characters in his world. I have been watching tv and if you like radical "inciting to riot" politics then you probably like McCain ..he's the one with 7 houses and an heiress wife.. hes the one out of touch with the "Joe the plumbers" except when he needs one. I hope whoever said that "America will never be the same" is right. I for one will welcome a change to the last few years. America got what they voted for with the last president by hook and crook and its been more than costly in so many different ways . If anyone was never ready to be president it has been Bush. I just believe a different approach is worth a try. Someone who can do some damage control for our country, inside AND out. As far as losing our country to any other country I'd say China owns us pretty much lock stock and a barrel or two right now. I am ever hopeful we can take our country back and heal ourselves and not be so dependent on any other country like we are now. These are just my thoughts and opinions ..not directed at anyone or to antagonize anyone. Its just what I think.

Obama is our way to show the rest of the world that we are still a great nation, a nation with values and principles. He ran a beautful campaign and has once again restored hope for all of us in the middle class. The "Joe the Plumbers" that think that they will be better off with McCain had better think again. McCain will also make cuts in Social Security benefits and Medicare. Granted not all Americans need these programs, but what about the ones that have worked hard all of their lives and still find that they cannot make it alone.
John McCain is a Rich, Bitter, Old man that has run a scattered campaign and made some VERY bad choices. Do we want him to run this country? Scarier yet, do we want Palin to? Obama is a good man and we need to give him a chance to make this country something to be proud of again. I love my country and it's still the best in the world, but when we torture, lie and steal, it tells me that we need a new leader.

You should only speak for yourself -- I for one am middle class and Obama has not renewed any hope for me.

Dissedvoter - It's sad to see how angry and off-base McCain supporters such as yourself really are. You must be following his example. Calling people idiots and ignorant only makes you look desperate.

mmateo: if you want to make up quotes, fine. Just don't try to pass them off as authentic. How abour McCain talking about selling more cigarettes to Iran to "kill more of 'em"? That I have on video. If you can produce a videotape of Obama saying all the things in your "quote" then post it ande send the link. Otherwise, shut up your evil, ignorant, hate-filled mouth and crawl back under your rock with the other slugs.

Why all the furor over the presidential election. We have about 545 people that run this country. (actually it's probably a couple hundred, that line the pockets of those 545). Need to worry about cleaning house in the government and voting out the good ole boy network that has been established out of greed and egos. Let's take a hard look at the members of the house, senate, congress and supreme court and get things in order. Maybe if the lobbyists were under more scrutiny and someone kept a better eye on who is padding the pockets of our esteemed politicians they would be a little less willing to sell the people that voted for them out. Sure the president is a very important position, but it's not what is ruining this country and our way of life.

The mantra for "Change" has been like a senerio of seeing a great marketing campaign for a terrible movie. The advantage of reality over this senerio is that one can actually read the "script" of the movie before they buy a ticket. There is no such thing a free lunch. Success and accomplishment come at a very high price and require years of dedication and hard work...but anything is possible in this country if one truly takes ownership and responsibility for their own life. A lot is going to change under an Obama-Biden administration and the tennants of liberalism will be common place...reward mediocracy and if you can't win the game, then change the rules. Funny how most liberals want to jam Darwinism/evolution down your throat, but shy away from the whole idea of "survival of the fittest (best prepared)" There can't be one without the other! Read the plan and apply logic...truth is that it dosen't add up in American---but it does make perfect sence in a socialist republic!

BEING that Mr. OBAMA IS INDEED our new PRESIDENT........you may want to stop talking and start believeing!

Jri979, is time for a change. Republicans have been in the white house for eight years, more than enough, Bush proved that he did nothing but put the economy of the country in a very dangerous situation sending billions and billions to Irak to fight for his personal war. I see Obam as the next President, his ideas are new, we need a change. I am proud of being part of people that are making the difference voting for Obama. He will make history you'll see. - Wish you the best

Obama cant even present an original birth certificate, the most important question of all. What he should of said in his speeches was what color prayer mat do you want...

  • Posted By: Lefty the leftist @ 11/04/2008 12:10:31 PM

You gotta love it when Republicans whine and curse, it shows what fools they really are. But, using their reasoning, America is standing tall today and saying CLEARLY, "After eight years of Republican BS, we want to give the BLACK, MUSLIM, SOCIALIST a chance!" and I agree. Go Obama.

  • Posted By: sk47 @ 11/04/2008 12:10:05 PM

It is very disconcerting that fellow Americans have all but lost our moral compass. Why is it that we justify wrong and disdain right? Our founding fathers established this country based on truths, on values. We now call evil good and have reversed our values. No I will not vote for Obama-- Not because he is black but because he lacks a moral compass.

    • Posted By: vijaygadi @ 11/04/2008 11:50:18 AM

Be realistic...you are supporting someone who says that he is not aware of how many houses he owns...

      • Posted By: ShariMMcPherson @ 11/04/2008 12:09:14 PM

I bet McCain's wife knows how many houses they own. It is important to delegate when one has a duty to job. That statement proves to me that John has entrusted his wife with the duty of investing in real estate.

ForObama2008, you're so certain. The Bush adminstration has done things other that cause heartached and pain. Sadly, troops will continue to die regardless of who sits at 1600. Homes will continue to be foreclosed on. Do you really think there was no such thing as a foreclosure prior to 8 years ago? People will lose jobs. Do you really think that layoffs and companies going out of business is a new concept? The rich will continue to get richer and good for them. I believe if I had equal experience, equal education, made the same decisions, had the "next new product", created the EBay or whatever example you want to use then I would be there, too. Had you been in the same position you would have as well. Which article was it again where McCain or Palin are quoted as calling him a terrorist? Or was it that he consorts or consorted with known terrorists? Huh. I guess you're right.

We as humans learn through conflict. Those who have had conflict are the ones we now look to for leadership simply because they know the pitfalls and learned the lessons.
The planet has been in conflict from a very early age.Greed ,injustice, predjudice, are the three main reasons we as a human race have been in conflict. It is now time to make the choices that will bring us renewal and progression . It has to be a radical change that is all we understand because we have choosen not to change while we are comfortable or lazy or busy for whatever the reason we have not changed our way of thinking. It is time. Go Obama !!
