Wow... it's the same old GOP line. If you don't elect our guy the world will collapse. We elected Bush for two terms with a GOP congress and look at the result. Our country is at all time low in world politics and now we the public must bail out the biggest companies in the nation.... that sounds a lot like socialism to me. As for Palin seriously you've got to be kidding. When asked the role of the VP she answers to be in charge of the senate. One would think if your applying for a job you'd at least know the duties of that position.

I know it's a bit late to say, but all of you race card posters need to think of one thing. What if John McCain was African American and running against Obama. I would still vote for McCain. He is the moral fiber that we need. This election has never been a race issue with me. If you traded the candidates views and directions for our country, only then would I vote Obama. McCain has made it very clear that he has a plan to better our standing as Americans. Point of the matter is, make your decision based on where you want the country to go, not by color.

I saw a set of interviews of Obama supporters asked a range of questions on their approval of certain ideas and policies of Obama, except they twisted the questions with McCain's ideas and policies.

The result was one man being asked. "Do you agree with Obama's choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate?". The man answered yes. How funny, and disinformed some people are.

One woman was asked "How do yuou like Obama's idea of staying the coarse in Iraq?" She thought it was a great idea.

Obama's hyped crowds aren't listening to the issues at hand for the most part. They treat his word like gold, as if he is some new messiah.

Look at Adolf Hitler. He took power by promising the exact opposite policies that he later enacted. The German people were turned to him like sheep. The rest is history. My previous point is validated by this. Obama's supporters are sheep. When asked what his change is, Obama and the majority of his supporters either dodge the question or have no answer.

Honestly, I don't care who wins anymore as long as Americans live better, less way, more medicare and education for our kids, AS LONG AS USA GETS BETTER IM FINE!!! If USA gets currupted, I will go live in a different country, even if its primitive, at least I will know where I stand. This is so sad and pathetic that we cannot even count on our government.!

Take a blank map of the U.S., and a box of crayons. Shade all the states with the highest rate of high school dropouts + lowest rate of college graduates in one color. Then shade all the states with the lowest rate of high school dropouts + highest rate of college graduates in another color. Now superimpose that map over a political map. They match almost perfectly. Lack of education and exposure leads to mind-numbing fear, and with it, an irrational craving for the familiar -- even when the familiar is the actual cause of the problem.

There is a reason Obama keeps on a positive message of hope and change and McCain/Palin just focus on Obama. Obama actually has positive things to talk about. There's a reason McCain's campaign said publicly they can't win if we talk about the economy.

So, you have to ask, why will McCain lose if we talk about the economy? Because Obama's plan is far better than anything McCain has planned? Because McCain has said publicly that economics weren't his strong suit? Because McCain said the economy was fundamentally sound as it was crashing? Because McCain is advocating the same trickle-down plan that failed under Reagan, Bush I and now incredibly so under Bush II?

    All of the above.

    Obama/Biden

noparty68, as a Minnesotan I assume know the values of hard work. Most Midwesterners are also familiar with the value of teamwork. Our country is still so mired in the swamp of the "Me" generation, it's hard to remember when it wasn't so. Obama a Socialist? I guess JFK was one too, if for no other reason than his "A rising tide lifts all boats" comment. Putting only yourself ahead does nothing to better society as a whole. It's a bit like having a healthy big toe when the rest of the body has leprosy.

The time has come for real change. The kind of change that brings us together and helps us to realize that what we do here today affects our children and their quality of life for years to come. We must stand together as Americans and show the world that we are ready to lead from a position of strength, honor. It is our duty and responsibility to make the world a better place for the generations that will follow. Lets make it happen.

if obama answered clearly...how is he paying for 1trillion in new spending?

From what I know, lying is part of politics. At least Obama is a very calm person very important for a President. Unlike McCain looks like he can't handle the stress of being a President.

I'm so annoyed by the suggestion that there was a "Bradley effect" when Hillary upset Obama in the New Hampshire primaries. There was no real "upset" - everyone on the ground in New Hampshire knew Hillary was favored (and it had nothing to do with her race), but the pundits, were, quite frankly, morons, who were mis-reporting what was REALLY going on! I was there at many New Hampshire events, and I was SHOCKED at the skewed reporting by the pundits, claiming that people were wild about Obama, and cool about Hillary! They were clearly reporting their own biases, not what was actually happening, and the reality came out when the voting occured.

Obama is a Socialist. You may be able to argue weather Socialism works, but the fact that he is a socialist is undeniable. Don???t believe me? Get a copy of the Communist Manifesto and hold it next to Obama???s platform. Get a copy of Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky and compare it to Obama???s rhetoric.

And by the way; Socialism does not work. No nation ever in recorded history has ever taxed it self into prosperity. When wealth is redistributed inflation results. If everybody suddenly has ???x??? number of dollars then people who sell goods raise the prices of items because they know they can get more money due to the fact that more people have more money. This is inflation, which effectively lowers the value of the dollar, which results in people being able to buy less, which defeats the purpose of redistribution in the first place. Redistribution of wealth does not raise people up, it brings every body down.

So if Socialism does not work than why do people in the Government advocate it? Power and control, that???s why. (1) Look at the above example about inflation. This gives government an excuse to regulate commerce, set prices, and say what can be sold and where. This is what happened in Europe. It results in slowed economic growth. (2) Look at communist Russia and the personal restriction there. When a government depends so heavily on taxes and redistribution of wealth they can???t have people going outside of the country to engage in business. They will lose revenue and the system wont work (not that it works well in the first place). But the desire to leave the country is great because business and workers are taxed so heavily they can do it cheaper in other country (which is why many American businesses are going over seas). So the government restricts travel, communications, and trade (the Democrats resistance to free trade agreements).

Think I am talking out my butt? Read the suggested books. Go to the local college and take economics and world history. This is basic stuff.

Government is a cancer, its feeds on the thing that gives it life until both are dead. Never in history as it done anything else.

Don???t go and give the fox a key to the hen house by supporting socialism.

AMEN MELISSA123 I am so glad someone else has their head on straight.........how much do we want his kind of change? can we afford his kind of change? Trust me if he gets voted in that is all we will have in our pockets is change

I'd be thrilled just to get a president who, during his candidacy(?) makes/made promises to ALL American people, who would stick to those promises instead of blowing hot air. There have only been a few presidents who have carried through wil their promises (maybe not ALL of them but....) and did what they said they'd do. We, as Americans, DO desire change; change in a good way. Not just EMPTY promises. I fear for our country if a candidate, who CLAIMS he's so proud fo what our troops are doing and have done, visits our troops and then TOTALLY ignores them just to get press coverage. If not for our troops (no matter WHERE they are) fighting for our Amerian way of life, we would be just like those they are fightig against. Whether it be McCain or Obama, it doesn't matter. As long as the next president follows through with his promises that he spoke about during his candidacy. Yes, change is needed! But whose change is the best? Whose change will stick? Whose change is the right change? Both candidates have a lot of good things to say and they both have made a lot of promises. But, although their personal lives are no one's business, I think, they both have their own "hang-ups" too.

The truth is my values for myself are probably as high as anyone else sets for them self. I don't consider my opinion to be germane to decisions other people have to make. That is if a "naive" women wants to get an abortion her decision is based on many things. What those things are are A) none of my business and B) the only things that matter to that individual. People who want to marry should be allowed to make that decision based on what they feel is right. Would we lower taxes for people who want to marry a person of the same sex. It's not about religion a marriage license is a civil, town/state issued license that all people who pay taxes should have a right to obtain, who they marry is not any one's business.

The thing is that everyone that has christian values has that right but those who do not have christian values has the same rights. I don't understand why this would even be questioned. Why do people think it's any of their business what someone else does? That is especially true when it is something as intimate as sexual behavior and between a doctor and their patient. Anything that is between them and God is between them and God and again should not be interfered with by those whose "morals" don't mesh. After all it is God who will judge and all will agree that he is just.

We better stop talking and start walking to vote. Talking is all great and good but today we hope, for what you ask? We hope other people think and feel like we do at the polls, for today is the day for the "great white/black hope". No need to be angry when you never made it to the polls. You can make it up by helping Bush pack his things....
