The fight doesn't end on on Nov 5th. It begins. The uglyside of people has been brought into full view with a giant election spotlight. For those caught by a flashlight, there are issues of race, hate, financial selfishness and a strong 'me first' attitude. The number of people I spoke with who said "I don't care about all that; I'm voting for me" is appalling.
The question preceding that answer was a simple one: "How about the idea of what's best for the country?

The racist remarks don't just spot the internet, they dominate the narrative on a bad day.
One must always look at the idea of 'whats right with America?' What one has to come to grips with and take action to change for a better nation is to isolate the problem.
All one needs to do is scan a few sites and look at the posts to have an idea of what needs to be changed first. I have met the enemy of America....and he is us.

He is the liar at the office as well as the campaign trail. He is the twister of facts for his or her benefit or cause. He is the selfish driven by greed. She is the greedy driven by the 'get ahead by any means possible.'
He is the abuser of power in any form. She is the one who rationalizes the abusers' actions and doesn't put a stop to it.
He is the one sided journalist who twists the minds of millions every night. She is the one who believes him without questioning his motives. Change doesn't happen by power, might or influence.

Change happens when one can discern the truth. Change happens when one will seek only the truth and
works to minimize the influence of those who practice the art of deception

your comment proves just how ignorant you really are. africans did not ask to come to this country, they were forced to come and work the fields for the "massrs". for which their hard labor helped build this country whether you want to acknowledge it or not. it is what is is. you're probably one of those people that felt if slavery were still legal, you'd have a field full of them. America is the melting pot so why can't people like you realize it and get over it. no race of people are going anywhere to satisfy you and your thoughts.

everyone is entitled to the American dream, and guess what, that most definitely includes the black race.

The comments here amaze me. I see racism, ignorance, left, right, black, white, and everything else under the sun. "traczimm458" comments are ignorant and racist but "katyblue's" response that he must be LDS is just as sad. If voting for Obama is turning the page to a new chapter in America then his supporters should do it without trampeling on fellow citizens. We can't fight racism with racism. I feel whoever wins todays will change America for the better. Obama has worked hard to get where he is and Americans should be proud that the dream is still alive. Joe Biden has the experience to back Obama up and provide him with a wealth of information. John McCain loves America like no other and represents a generation of change and a career of service that will benifit our nation. Sarah Palin is an average American Mom who speaks to our hearts and would use that gift to speak to the world. Each canidate is not perfect, each canidate has been treated different by the media, celebrites, and even the world. There are so many people concerned about what will happen after today. The answer is simple, We will all go back to work, or look for work and focus our attention to the next story of the day. Let's just hope that the real change that we are all hoping for and talking about will start within ourselves.

CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW OBAMA'S VIEW MAKES ANY SENSE?

Are you hard of hearing or do you work 24 hours a day?

Is it true that in order to be a true humanitarian you have to give everyone what they want? Lets give the poor people a debit card loaded with money. Lets let the naive females go get abortions. Lets allow anyone to get married to each other.
I have seen in my short life that people are losing their sense of values and morals, because there are liberals out there that have convinced people that they are "haters, predjudice, and inhumane" if they dont allow people just to have the choice and to choose for themselves. What people don't see is that just by voting for this ability to do these things, it is going against all that is good and right. If people want God out of the system, and want God to go away, well, we're sure headed in that direction by allowing ungodly principles to infiltrate our society.

crazid23: What about the stupid people who have unprotected sex every year? Should we take the rights away from the baby that was not the one who made the mistake in the first place? The rights of the innocent, and helpless are all of our responsibility. The real problem with america is the move towards ignorance. "As long as I don't know about it why should I care." Don't expect all Americans to take this horribly ignorant stance. There are still those who believe in the Freedom of all that are living, and that includes the unborn child.

traczimm458 , did you pull a long nap? This isn't 1954, the schools are all integrated, people of color have (and do) hold positions of power, and (GASP!) interracial marriage is legal. In fact, in some places even GAY marriage is legal. (Sorry, I didn't mean to make your head hurt.) And yet, the Lord didn't smite our country. Close-minded, predjudiced religious fanatics did so, quite possibly in retaliation to what some of our own close-minded, predjudiced religious fanatics said and did. That doesn't mean I think America brought 9-11 on ourselves, just that the world should no be controlled and influenced by people like that, on either side. While I can't control what happens elsewhere (even thought W seems to think we can), I will do what I can to keep our society here in the USA from devolving into chaos because of people like you.

I am poor white and american, but I will still NEVER cast a vote for Barack Obama, and it has nothing to do with his race or his middle name. I have read the issuses and there are some in which I do agree with him. However, there are others, which leave a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I would rather be poor for the rest of my life than to cast a vote for someone who will not vote to protect an innocent baby. Partial birth abortion is sickening! What kind of a person would not stand up for the child, but rather stand up for the mothers who are too afraid to do the right thing. Seven months of gestation is way too late to end a pregnancy. I have no opinion on Rowe vs. Wade, but I do have an opinion about a baby that is born alive and left to die. I love my country, but where has our morality gone? To vote for someone who lets believes in murder, and who would not vote for no early release of sex offenders....Obama is Change, but not all change is good. :(

While reading up on issues, to become a more informed voter, I learned about a bill that tried to pass on informing pregnant women about the pain felt by unborn fetuses at 20 weeks. There is scientific evidence that these uborn babies FEEL PAIN when they are being killed during abortion. And I was apalled to find out that the bill did not pass. Obama stated that parents need to "turn off the tv" and be more involved with their kids, but he voted "NO" on prohibiting minors from crossing state lines to procure abortions and "NO" to notifying the parents of minors that obtained abortions in other states. What kind of message does that send parents of teenagers? That they CAN'T be involved with some of the most important issues facing their teens today. And again, that it's the responsibility of government to guide our children who are our future. Put the power back in the hands of the parent and vote McCain!

In the exchange with "Joe the plumber" Obama unintentionally revealed that he really is as radical as his early political mentors and acquaintances, Davis, Ayers, Wright, Khalidi etc., (gee, there sure seem to be a lot of them) and that he is into the failed economic policy of wealth redistribution. Now there is absolute proof. In 2001, Obama, the "community organizer" turned legislator, said in an interview:

"And I think one of the tragedies of the civil rights movement was that the civil rights movement became so court-focused, I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and organizing activities on the ground that are able to bring about the coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change, and in some ways we still suffer from that,"

    2001 Chicago Public Radio Interview.

Obama's tax and spending plans alone would be bad enough, but add Reid and Pelosi to the mix, with the three of them controlling both houses of Congress and the executive branch without any effective restraint, and you have something that should causes concern even among moderate Democrats.
See Wall Street Journal: A Liberal Supermajority:

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122420205889842989.html

Indeed, some democrats are publically saying as much. See Barney Franks comments on the news, including face the nation last week, stating essentially that Democrats in Congress intend to greatly raise taxes and go on a spending spree.

    See http://www.taxfoundation.org/blog/show/23617.html

Obama's ill-conceived programs will require him to tax, and his health care plan alone is a substantial hidden tax on all business, large an small. In reality, it does not really matter who he taxes, those taxes are going to be passed through the economy. He has to tax, because it is they only way he can pay for his massive social engineering experiments. Any first year economics student knows that taxation is a tool used to contract an economy experiencing inflation, because it reduces demand by reducing the amount of money individuals and businesses have to spend. It is contractionary, which is exactly what you do not want to do when the problem is that the economy is contracting already into recession. Like Hoover and FDR, Obama's plans will only make it worse for longer.

Even Bill Clinton says so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsynspIqAoE
Obama and a supermajority of Democrats simply is not the change we need, nor is it change we can afford.

Some of you are just awful. I can not believe that we are still living in a racially divided country. Obama will be an outstanding president, my only hope is that you people see pass his color and his name and look at how he would benefit our country.

  • Posted By: sjordan171@hotmail.com @ 11/04/2008 11:19:05 AM

Anyone who has any questions about Obama, his allegence to Africa or Racism should read his books. There are two that will help you understand more of who he is or who he is not......It should also answer your questions on his faith and beliefs.....I don't think you should call ignorance or call names until you have the facts.....It sounds to me that is the problem.....Everyone has just enough fact or knowledge to make bad choices.......hope you all voted ......

  • Posted By: crazid23 @ 11/04/2008 11:15:31 AM

It's not that Obama says "yeah let's kill babies", jesus relax.. he is just pro-choice. I agree with having the right to choose. What about the young girl that gets raped in the alley, by a guy, she ends up pregnant, and is having issues wether she wants to keep it or not, you don't think she should have a choice??? come on! see, that's the problem with america now, we can't just mind our own buisness

    • Posted By: Dissedvoter @ 11/04/2008 11:18:21 AM

like .00005 % of abortions occur because of this situation. Most are strictly for convenience.

"black and working-class voters".....this is from your article above....is there a difference between black and working class.? come on people...think about what your writing before you write it....this is the kind of thing we are trying to overcome in this election.

You are Indian, but you feel that a Black man would not be good for this country, why because of his skin color, look what white people have done over time the Native Americans. Obama is for unity between everyone of all colors, that the change we need. By the way he is only half Black.

  • Posted By: jetenreiro @ 11/04/2008 11:17:12 AM

I'd like to clarify that Proposition 8 does not seek to protect the legal status of same-sex marriage in California, but rather it seeks to undo that status, so people should vote no. You really ought to be more caerful with this sort of mistake.

For traczimm458 ... before you go spouting off about anything, you might want to finish grade school, learn to spell and consider how redneck you sound. I'm a Southern Republican too and all for gun control and other fine things in life, but you sound like nothing more than a white sheet-wearing racist idiot. Share your thoughts and feelings with your buddies during the next Nascar race or over a couple of cold Miller Lites at your next KKK meeting. You obviously haven't been paying attention to the real issues at stake.

traczimm458 you have got to be without a doubt the most ignorant person in the entire world. Tis election has very little to do with race and more about change, if all you see is a "black" man and a"white" man, you have some real issues that you need to resolve within yourself and I hope and pray that you don't have any children that you have passed your messed up way of thinking to, because if so, this country will NEVER be ready for a black, red, brown or any other color person in the whitehouse. But you know what.....get ready because change is coming either way no matter WHO wins tonight. America is tired of the current administration and it's tired of ignorance like yours. Do us all a favor and educate your mind before you speak in a public form again more hate and comments like yours is the LAST thing ANY of us need. Your comment about Joe the Plumber is wrong.....when he says "spead the wealth" he is speaking about taxing people making 250,000 a year or more. Two precent of the population own and control 80% of the wealth in this country, spreading it will help all of us(including Joe AND Jane the plumber.....again please educate
yourself before you speak in a public form again.

I agree on with traczimm when he said "America will never be the same", because Mexican- Americans and African-Americans will be on the same level as White-Americans.What can I say, it is about time. We also were born in this Country. Why have Blacks and Mexicans fighting your wars if America is only White
