It's fascinating that all your political references regarding Obama are from the television. Please get up off of your couch, out of the trailer and educate yourself.

I feel you trac... Just as soon as Obama is elected President the sky will open up and fried chicken and watermelon will rain down on us good ole', true Americans. Hell, we can barely aford the millions of white people on welfare that are there because the economy is in the tank. Just think if Obama assigns the rest of us to welfare. He'll take the billions of dollars we are dumping into our Christian cause and do something stupid with it like help Americans...wait, you know what mean. Don't you, Cuz?

OMG it's way evident that you are RACIST! Hello? Are you also LDS or on LSD? There are several Americans on welfare, and in this economy you may be as well. So shut up and listen. To say "blacks on welfare" shame on you, didn't your mom teach you manners? I will say this: there is a great website that shows Republican owned businesses. I Vote we boycott them. Yup that's my vote.

Have we forgotten that Barack Obama is as white as he is black?

First I would like to say to the person who posted the comment @ 10:41:29; you should be ashamed of yourself. We can no longer allow parents, grandparents, teachers, community leaders, or the pastors of our churces to dictate what group of people should be in charge and what group of people should be begging for a chance. I think we should all ask ourselves how we would like to be treated and treat others accordingly. If you are scared of losing your country, then I say to you, its not your country to lose, we have all different types of races in America, and its about time we try to understand each other. We can not move forward unless we stop this fear we have of acceptance regardless of race or religion. Lets pray for a fair election, and hopefully the person the PEOPLE vote for will win.

Joe the plumber is only a go for. Go for this go for that.
He doesn't even have a plumbers liscense. Typical of Republicans everything is done underhanded.

I just don't understand how the countryt got so turned upside down. Kill your babies...check, take your money to give to the less fortunate...check. Suport gay union.....check. Support banning of offshore drilling...check, No Ten Commandments...check. Supports human cloning...check. There...finally..all of the interest groups satisfied. What a job that would be!!!!!

probably when someone sitting at home who had nothing better to do than to decide that prayer should be taken out of school; that parents could no longer discipline their children except for using "time'out"; for the single sex schools/universities to be forced to admit the opposite sex; shal i go on.

this country has gone to "hell in a handbasket" over these last eight years and whoever is elected into office, should only be about bringing change for the good. people can think what they want to think and say what they want to say, but in the end it's all in God's hands. and besides can you honestly believe tyou can honestly and/or agree on everything that a politician says.

It seems that everyone is saying a black man is going to be voted into the White House. Isn't he just as white as he is black? It doesn't matter the color ,only the man and what he stands for.

Comment: what is even more funny is that 95% of the people don't pay taxes, only approx 50% do. The statistics are that the top 10% of wage earners pay 60% of the taxes already, the top 50% of wage earners pay 98% of the taxes, the bottom 50% pay only 2% of the taxes....

    ***************
I agree with your sentiment. However, the correct numbers, according to IRS statistics, are the top 5% pay 95% of the revenue collected by the IRS.
Imagine 100 people going to lunch as a group. When the meal is over and the waitress brings the bill, the total comes to $1000.00. The way the income tax system works in the U.S. today, 77 people would pool their money and come up with $50.00. 18 people would sneak out without paying, and the other 5 people would be stuck with paying the balance of $950.00.

Are you serious traczimm458? You have no idea how ignorant your comment sounds. Obama is just about as "American" as it gets.

Photonphreak -- Thank you!!! I don't think I've ever read a comment on here that I've agreed with more. My sincere hope is that there are plenty of others who agree too, they just don't frequent comment boards as much.

Each side has it's extremists, each side has it's stengths and weaknesses, neither side is without fault, and neither side is without merit. Whoever you vote for, remember that about 50% of the country disagrees with you. So let's not pretend that there's only one rational choice out there, and everyone who goes another way is evil or a moron. We'll all still be stuck with each other tomorrow, so why not go about this all with a little civility?

I must agree with aquamerican. The news media is not about news anymore... it is about entertainment just like hollywood. Sizzle sells while truth, honesty and fairness take a backseat to ratings. Whatever happenned to the responsibility of the media to simply report the news, give the facts, let the people make their own decisions instead of the bias reporting and opinionated comments that distort and corrupt the general public's view on issues. You have totally disgraced the professionalism that should be held highest for news media reporters... that is right, reporters not commentators. Tha thsould be left to those that actually know what is going on. McCain has been railroaded by the media and this whole election process as reported, and I use that term very loosely, has been a disgrace to all americans.

isit truth- its too late in this election to try and argue points with you. Go vote and we will see tonight how many people think that obama's views make any sense

  • Posted By: zxcv @ 11/04/2008 11:10:18 AM

i wish some people would quit being so predidous about obama being black everyone is entitlted to fairness based on what they do not on what their race is...how some people have their head stuck so far back in time, you would think we were voting back in the early 1900's not 2008...

Blacks are not voting for Obama because he is black. Blacks have always supported the Democrats why would election be any different. Now if Obama was running on the Republican ticket and all blacks for supporting him, I would say it was just because of his color. Voted for Obama history in the making.

Poor Nate doesn't have a clue about the dynamics of politics at the polls "could have a potential impact on California's Proposition 8, which seeks to strike down same-sex marriage. If Obama appears as though he's headed toward a landslide victory, crestfallen conservatives might not bother heading for the polls to vote for Prop 8."

In reality, a "landslide victory" for Barry in California could actually hurt the anti 8 campaign since many Democrats wouldn't bother showing up to vote if they know their guy will blowout McCain. What Mr. Silver doesn't realize is that most Prop 8 supporters will show up at the polls despite McCain's numbers in the early returns, since most Republicans already know that McCain will lose California. This is such a polarizing issue that many formerly apathetic conservatives will vote just to make sure that 8 passes!
