I was making refference to the primarily Democratic early voters. I wonder how many of them wish they could change their minds now. And yes, those last eight years did happen. The thing that I want you to see is that there may be a Republican in the white house, but there are a majority of democrats in the legislature that are making the rules we have lived with for the latter four of those eight years. We need to take government back to its roots and what the framers of our constitution had in mind. Big expensive government is not what they intended. One last thing, where has God been put in all of this. Our country was built on the principle of trusting God!

AMEN!!!!!. Governmen was NOT to suppsed to be big. And you bet these stories were withheld and that is why Mr. Obama wanted people to vote early, so that if they leaked and he lost control of the press it would be too late. He kicked off 3 newpapers from his plane because their papers endorsed McCain!!!! So what does that say about people who don't support him???

Wow all of you that are voting for McCain are just plain stupid!! How can you not see that he will ruin us...JUST LIKE BUSH HAS DONE!!!!!!!! Bush has done nothing good for this country!! Obama brings change and I know he will win and pull us out of this mess that Bush has put us in!!! Obama is a genuine person while McCain is an OLD FART stuck in his ways! Not to mention his ridiculous choice for Vice President...Palin??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! That is the DUMBEST decision McCain has made and I believe she is the reason he will not be our next president. GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Posted By: jsaros @ 11/04/2008 10:27:56 AM

how can anyone ignore the state of our country and not want change? Obama is not going to do this change all on his own- so many others he surrounds himself with are intelligent and capable people too. Who has McCain surrounded himself with? Sarah Palin? Seriously!

    • Posted By: Afro Queen @ 11/04/2008 10:48:53 AM

jsaros i very much agree with you, is full time for a black intellegent man became President of America in the sight of God we are one people he does not divide us because of the colour of our skin.

Please don't confuse intelligence with Biden

      • Posted By: wgoin @ 11/04/2008 10:40:59 AM

to Dissedvoter: Joe Biden is both intelligent and honorable - traits we are sorely lacking in the current administration and that, sadly, John McCain has forgotten. Barack Obama is not only talking change but has a solid plan on the economy, healthcare, the wars, international alliances, rebuilding our infrastructure. . . this is not just "talking" change.

    • Posted By: Dissedvoter @ 11/04/2008 10:32:10 AM

Change can mean many things with alot of them not good. TYo vote for change for the sake of change is stupid.

One thing that has concerned me while Palin has been campaigning -- who is keeping an eye on the Russians in the meantime?

      • Posted By: mikecrt @ 11/04/2008 10:36:50 AM

OMG I haven't laughed so hard this early in a long time. Probably Todd. One eye on his oil drilling and one eye on those pesky Russians.

  • Posted By: mikecrt @ 11/04/2008 9:33:05 AM

missmikkijo go back and read previous comments before bringing up that stupid line. Bush vetoed every piece of progressive Democratic legislation. You need a 2/3 vote to over ride, and there were not enough Republicans with spines to do this.

    • Posted By: kelskamp @ 11/04/2008 10:48:31 AM

he vetoed stupid legistlation full of pork belly spending, go look at the bills!!!! they are all online!

  • Posted By: mikecrt @ 11/04/2008 9:38:50 AM

jr- the Dems have been in for 2 years. Mr deregulator and his cohorts have been in charge the previous 6. This problem did not occur overnight. It goes back to Reagans famous line about the government being the problem and not the solution. Government is only a problem to the ultra wealthy when it tries to prevent them from becomming bloated pigs at the expense of the little guy.

    • Posted By: kelskamp @ 11/04/2008 10:47:32 AM

Government is a problem for EVERYBODY. this economic crisis started with the community reinvestment act under CARTER.. where someone thought it was a good idea to write bad loans for people who didn' t have the money to buy a house so they could have one (what? yes you are right that doesn't make sense) and then congress MANDATED that if you wanted to have loans covered by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae that you had to write a percentage of this bad paper. Read your history, it's all there in black and white,

  • Posted By: Bigsky007 @ 11/04/2008 9:38:58 AM

I have two problems with McCain's assertions that he is going to change things in Washington, if elected. After thirty some years of being in D.C. and having done nothing of note, his assertions are self-serving poppycock. Additionally, in that he went to Alaska and, in effect, thumbed his nose at their investigation and their ethical standards, shows that he doesn't have the correct mind set to change anything. He interfered with and impeded an ongoing investigation. The first folks he needs to change are himself and Palin, who likewise has no problem violating ethical standards. Criminality always starts with breach of ethics. Starting off, McCain and Palin will have no credibility in the eyes of those whose cooperation they will need in order to be effective leaders. Palin consorted with McCain in violating Alaska's constitutional sovereignty as a State. Good leadership starts with self!!

    • Posted By: kelskamp @ 11/04/2008 10:44:43 AM

actually McCain has done plenty of things in congress, including vote how he said he voted. Obama on the other hand has the track record of a socialst. He has been voted the MOST liberal congressman by an independent source who rates the congresspeople on their voting records. (how they voted etc) - also if you want to speak about vetting, why is it that we don't have Obama's birth certificate, his school records (for college or for law school) or his medical records, what he is hiding? The Palin thing was just handed down AGAIN (by the non dems committee and truly impartial one) and she was found to have done nothing wrong. WHat about Obama who volunteered for 10 to train ACORN supervisors? His represenatation of ACORN as an attorney. Being on a board that GAVE money to his pastor, other left wing groups and groups of Islam? That is his RECORD, all there in black and white but the liberal press has chosen to ignore it. What about his DEPORTED AUNT who lives in public housing, housing that TAXPAYERS pay for that is supposed to be for the poor CITIZENS of this country not the illegals... The man made over 4 million last year and he can't help his own family? (oh yeah why should he the government is paying for her housing!!!) - please. This man IS a Kerry, he will tell the public what they want to hear (notice that differs depending which state you are in) and we still don't really know his own agenda or than how he voted during the time he was in congress. Palin at least had to run a state.... most pathways to the presidency has been through being a governor... Carter, Regean, Clinton, Bush, were all governors first, I do believe Kennedy was too. Also Obama is nothing like Kenndey, he wanted lower taxes, more military and space spending, and asked us as citizens to do for our country, not have our coutry do for us, that doesn't match at all with what Obama wants, he wants more taxes (not just the stupid graduated tax) you are hearing about but ALL taxes if you read his plan. (50% of the people in this country DON'T PAY TAXES!!!!) yey they would benefit from people who do pay. he wants to cut the military (but yet fund Afganistan??) he wants to give people mandated health care and take our 401Ks and make them government sponsored... I look at records, how they in the past have done, if you look there it's pretty clear that Obama isn't the right guy. - And if he is elected I think this country is in for a rude awakening

    • Posted By: wcmartin @ 11/04/2008 9:51:52 AM

You need to catch up on your news. The independent investigation of Palin found she had done nothing wrong. The guy who was fired was an appointed position, so she could have fired him for the color of his socks. Instead, she fired him because there were numerous documented cases of him being insubordinate. Not to mention, he did not want to fire a State Trooper who used a taser on an 11 year old child. In the real world, that is what we call a lack of good judgment. In the real world, people who excercise significant lapses in good judgment lose their jobs. The trooper issue was just another example of Palin bringing a common sense approach to government. By the way, the legislator who was leading that investigation was on record as saying he was going to have an October surprise. He is an example of a partisan politician who was not seeking the truth, but rather to serve his democratic party's presidential candidate.

      • Posted By: Objectivisor @ 11/04/2008 9:55:58 AM

The "independent" investigation you cite was comprised of people hand-picked by Palin herself.

        • Posted By: wcmartin @ 11/04/2008 10:30:37 AM

Still does not change the facts that the investigation was supposed to look at the firing and whether it violate a law or ethical standard. In all honesty, that did not require an investigation because the position was an appointed one, there were publicly documented cases of insubordination and the official in question took no action against a trooper who tasered an 11 year old child.

          • Posted By: Objectivisor @ 11/04/2008 10:37:54 AM

One advantage of losing today is that Palin will be freed up to run for Ted Stevens now-vacant senate seat.

Are you kidding me????? Who has McCain surrounded himself by??? I can't believe how blind and closed-minded Americans are these days! Let's see - John McCain hasn't surrounded himself by Bill Ayers or Jeremiah Wright!! There is nothing intelligent and capable about Obama or the people he surrounds himself by!

  • Posted By: Think11 @ 11/04/2008 10:38:55 AM

The portion of the definition of 'valid' that I refer to is "well-founded". That's usually not that objective - one may not agree with the results, but an open mind will agree that the founding exists. By regurgitating rhetoric I refer to the soundbites that are all over the news. It would just be nice if someone were to have an original thought or make a somewhat original connection between pionts. For example, saying that Obama reminds one of a "used car salesman" makes what kind of point other than to be argumentative and try to get a reaction? How often has anyone changes their mind about any topic by being attacked for their belief or by snide comments like that? If anyone is actually here to discuss or change anyone else's mind it should be done with a bit more tact than is, I guess, the norm here. Anyone looking to make a sound decision or judgment based on a message board will turn out, more than likely, no more educated than when they went in. If anything they will assume more of the bitter, angry self-righteous attitude of the masses. Yes, I know...everyone is so entitled because they have it so much worse than the guy at the next keyboard. Yes. I know. When so many of us turned so angry, self-righteous and bitter is just kind of sad. That's all.

  • Posted By: Think11 @ 11/04/2008 10:11:53 AM

The worst thing to happen to the election process and the economy are ignorant folks on message boards like this. Very rarely does anyone want to talk about how and why their preferred candidate is better - it's all about just trashing the other guy. I think I'd be very pleased to hear someone actually make a valid point that isn't just regurgitating rhetoric.

Healthcare began the process of falling apart when the unions made the employers provide it for employees. Why don't we expect our employers to provide car insurance. Why not fire or homeowners insurance. Just pay me and let me decide what kind of insurance I need.

  • Posted By: jr1979 @ 11/04/2008 10:20:07 AM

Obama reminds me of a used car salesman. No digs intended, just the truth. He will treat the savvy buyer with caution when they point out defects and make a good talk to cover. Then comes the unsavvy buyer who will never notice that he is standing in front of the dent in the fender the whole time. Same product, different buyer. The liberal media has tried so hard to mask his flip-flops. He is only catering to what people want to hear. The savvy buyer will get "I'll take care of that problem for ya'". The unsavvy buyer will get "Yeah, this is a great car, remember there is no warranty".

think 11- Also, keep in mind a valid point is highly subjective. I might read your "valid" point and think it totally rubish, and vice versa. Also, the politicall process is really just rhetoric, untill someone is elected and you get a chance to see otherwise by what he or she actually does.

In the race to the moment of truth people are still deciding who to
vote for as the next most influential person in the world.
In order to make the decision easier, a dutch company called
Kieskompas has developed the Electoral Compass. This voting advice
application is one of a kind. All the important issues are embedded in
the application that makes it easy to see where you fit in the
political compass. To what extent are you progressive (social liberal)
or traditional (social conservative) or left or right in economical
terms. And which candidate do you relate to the most.

If you haven't decided who to vote for than take the test. Visit Electoral Compass.com
