I see reason has been replaced by pure madness tonight. I must have been mistaken because I thought the creepies came out on Halloween night.

    - Facts, have been replaced by prejudice and lies.
    - Witty comments have been replaced by all out verbal assaults.
    - Childishness and ignorance prevail.

Let's be honest here, this is a forum for comments; all of a sudden every other person here is either an economist, or economic psychic. I'd wager a strong bet that most of what is in this room is more mindless and repetitious sponge-brained political litany, rather than any reasonable output which has been thoughtfully garnered. I don't think that 9 out of 10 people here could define liberal or conservative in the political-economical reference.

No matter who is elected tomorrow, the economy isn't going to revive itself as if there is no financial crisis. Let's get real here, no one candidate is going to cause the economy to implode on itself... I am humorously reminded of the story of Chicken Little when I think of these folks... mindless followers.

By far some of the most repetitious and mind-numbing putrid garbage is coming from: REIFOSS, LUCKYLARRY, VIKING1055, and WCMARTIN. I'd be willing to bet more that none of these people have a clear and competent understanding of the complex minutiae that make up the macrocosm of the American economy. Luckily after this election, we will not have to hear from these folks for another four years. If any of them were as intelligent as they seem to think they are, we'd be voting for one of them tomorrow. Let's all pray that these people recess into some far dark corner of the internet.

Vote with your heads, or vote with your hearts. Just remember to VOTE!

      Oh yeah... OBAMA/BIDEN *2008*

I'm so excited to go vote tomorrow!!!

Thank you for the analysis Nate.
I know you prefer Obama to win but I think your analysis has been based on facts and the best knowledge and data you can gather. So thank you for that.

Does every Democrat happen to have their heads directly up their rear ends?? This country will now be positioned to finally meet its demise if Sadam Hussein Osama gets elected! The fact that he is the Democratic candidate more than speaks for itself about how twisted that party actually is!! Yes, he speaks well and looks good on stage, so lets make him president, right? Then again, Hitler spoke very well too, so I guess this all makes sense. Yes, let's vote for a man who wants to allow gay men to marry each other, who wants to terminate babies in the womb, who won't let us drill off-shore for our own oil, and who wants to take my hard-earned money and redistribute it among some *** who don't even work for a living - AND WHO WON'T EVEN IF YOU GIVE THEM WORK BECAUSE THEY ARE DOWNRIGHT LAZY!!!!! If you want socialism or communism, then move to another country!!! Don't ruin this one by voting for a man who cannot even produce a birth certificate! I'm NOT voting for a wolf in sheep's clothing. I'm voting for a man who has devoted the great majority of his life to his country........MY country.........and who sure as hell knows better how to run it than Mr "does anyone really even know about me or my past" Obama! God be with Mr McCain and family, Mrs Palin and family, and all of the intelligent, good-hearted REPUBLICANS who care enough to want this country to remain the world Superpower that it has always been. The stinking Democrats ought to just move somewhere else (like another planet) and set up their sickening liberal society there and leave the rest of us in peace!!! And by the way, make sure you take that poor excuse for a human being, Nancy Pelosi, with you when you go because we sure DON'T need her here!!!

    • Posted By: 6407 @ 11/03/2008 7:20:52 PM

Amen to that, just bought a bumper sticker as I do feel Obama will win due to so many ficticious people who will be voting. It reads, I love my country, but I fear my Government. Kind of says it all, doesn't it.?

Barack was born in Hawaii. Your attempt to call him Saddam is childish. You are ignorant of the facts. Bush was elected from fear, this won't work again. Grow up and read.

        • Posted By: viking1055 @ 11/03/2008 8:30:26 PM

Were you there in Hawaii the day he was born??? I didn't think so. I don't need to be told to "grow up and read"! Here's an idea.........have B.O. produce a birth certificate for all the world to see. This seems to have been quite a difficult task for some reason!! There are many more hidden secrets about him too, but apparently you've done all of the right "reading" and know all of the answers. I already know more than enough to vote for McCain and remain hopeful until the very end. If it goes the other way, then God help us all because we WILL need it!!!

          • Posted By: Jack Peter @ 11/03/2008 8:39:50 PM

Obama did produce a birth certificate. He is a US Senator. You are afraid because you don't know the facts. This is not junior high. Barack is smart. McCain is not, and Palin is ignorant of both the US constitution....like Dick Chaney and George Bush.

            • Posted By: viking1055 @ 11/03/2008 9:19:29 PM

Check out this comment.............he says "this is not junior high. Barack is smart. McCain is not, and Palin is ignorant...". Does this mean that we are actually talking on a grade school level???

    • Posted By: ru4eel @ 11/03/2008 7:43:32 PM

Nope, but it sounds like you do. I'm voting for change. This country is walking a tight rope and we most definitely need to get out of the "6" brain mentality. No more 6 shooters or 6 packers. Let's go to war when it is justified ... and finish it. Let's not go into other wars with the 6 shooter, gunslinging western cowboy mentality.
We have suffered enough these past 8 years. Let's try a different way for a change. We are most definitely broken and now we need some fixing.
Rather than asking those who happen to have a different opinion than you do to get out, why don't you leave? It's just as much our United States as it is yours. America, love it or leave it. We are having an election based upon all of our rights. You are the one who seems to have a problem with the "other" party. I'll even buy you a one way ticket to Iraq. Make sure you take our great leader, President Bush and his Dad with you.
We aren't going anywhere. We are here to stay; no matter which party wins the elections, we are here to stay. We will tolerate people like you though, because we realize this is America and all are entitield to their opinions. You are the one who seems hung up with it being your way or everyone else should just hit the highway. Nope. it ain't happening. Have a great evening and please go vote.

FOR VOTERS THAT 'TWICE' PULLED THE LEVER FOR "W" AND ARE THINKING ABOUT GIVING McSAME A 3RD BUSH TERM, THEN THINK ABOUT THE FOLLOWING.

George W. Bush and his sidekick John McSame who supported 90% of Bush's policies have brought you over the past 8-years the following disasters:

1.) - two unending wars (Iraq & Afghanistan) and potential for 2 more (Pakistan & Iran),
    2.) - economic meltdown,
    3.) - skyrocketing unemployment,
    4.) - disastrous energy policies,
5.) - record breaking home foreclosures,
6.) - unaffordable or no health insurance coverage,
7.) - lost investments, pensions and retirement plans,
8.) - never ending national debt,
    9.) - out-of-reach affordable education
10.) - lost of international credibility
    11.) - divisions in government,
12.) - allow jobs to go overseas,
13.) - AWOL during America???s worst hurricane disaster (Katrina)
14.) - Forcing U.S. troops into multiple year-long tours in Iraq???s kill zone,
15.) - NOT supplying our troops in Baghdad the equipment they needed and at the time they needed it,
16.) - NOT supplying Iraqi veterans the VA benefits and mental help they deserve after serving honorably in battle.

Think people!! Intelligence dictates that you don't put McSame's same failed policies from the Bush years back into office for a third McBush term. Think people!! Vote intelligently. Vote Obama-Biden leadership.

GOD Bless the United States of America!
GOD Bless the Obama-Biden Leadership Team!

How are these issues Bush's fault?

Numerous democrats supported the war, including Biden and Clinton. Their support was based on intelligence, including the intelligence from other countries who were our allies. I don't suppose you are arguing Bush influenced other countries' intelligence agencies?

Economically, I would love for someone to explain which Bush policy contributed to the current economic problems. No one was complaining about the economy in 2006, when the Democrats took control of Congress. The economic issues are rooted in the housing market, specifically Fannie and Freddie. Democrats had a huge part to play and are to blame. Janet Reno threatened to prosecute mortgage companies that did not make enough mortgages to low income (i.e. risky) borrowers. Democrats opposed increased Fannie/Freddie regulations in both 2003 and 2005. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have been run by Democratic operatives. Franklin Raines was Clinton's Budget Director, who had to pay $25 million in fines for his corruption as Fannie CEO.

Katrina response, as all natural disasters, is primarily a function of state government. Where is your prosecution of the Nagan and Blanco, both Democrats?

Oil prices are a function of global supply and demand. Tell me how opposing domestic drilling, expansion of nuclear and increased taxes on oil (all Obama positions) will help with the prices you and I pay? Tell me how throwing millions of dollars towards inefficient corn based ethanol helps the problem? Why aren't you blaming Obama for the 400% increase in corn prices since he came to Washington. His support of corn based ethanol drove up food prices and nearly starved many impoverished countries around the world.

Where is your blame for the Democratic congress, who has controlled the purse strings for the last 2 years? What do you think will happen to this economy when Obama taxes the job creators? Do you really believe Obama will give a tax cut, when he has no record of supporting reduced taxes? Do you really want to revert to Clinton's deep cuts of intelligence and defense, that partially contributed to 9/11?

You are ignorant of the Iraq war-- Bush did rely on less than truthful sources to declare war-- and it was proven. There was no yellow cake from Africa, there was no weapons.....what a fool you are.

        • Posted By: wcmartin @ 11/03/2008 8:13:05 PM

And I suppose getting rid of a dictator who killed thousands of his own people, was an ally of terrorists and was a threat to Israel is was not a worthy mission? And then you probably would have a problem with our military presence In Iraq attracting Al-Quaeda terrorists so our miltiary could battle them (per the statements of our troops and General Petraeus). You would probably then, also have a problem with having a stategic alliance in Iraq for decades going forward, so we can be positioned to deal with the threat that is Iran?

          • Posted By: Jack Peter @ 11/03/2008 8:42:44 PM

We had Saddam surrounded. We could have eliminated him without invading Iraq. He was not an imminent threat to Israel. We invaded a country that was not threatening the United States--- this created more enemies. And who killed more in Iraq than Saddam? George Bush, thats who!

Hey "time4changefla", save your ignorant brainless comments for somebody who cares!!! Do you mean to tell me that "KKK, inbred, toothless, etc" is the best you can do??? It sure sounds like YOU are the high school dropout who needs to leave this country, and we can all only hope that it's a one-way ticket!! I was class valedictorian, you moron, and I don't even know "luckylarry", but I can assure you that he is more intelligent than you could ever dream to be!!! I don't need a flipping KKK robe to fulfill your fantasy about McCain supporters, or whatever the hell you are thinking in your pea-brain. I and the others simply know who the better man for president is!! You, on the other hand, spend way too much time watching TV shows like COPS, since you need a flipping job and a life, and you can't wait for Obama to get elected to take 1/2 of what's mine and give it to your lazy ass!!!

If you were class valedictorian, you must have been homeschooled and an only child, if you have the intelligence you profess you would be smart enough not to believe the internet BS you're spreading around. That's ok, after tomorrow you can go back to blogging about UFO's and all the times you've been abducted by aliens.

You didn't hit any nerve, jerk, just made more unintelligent assumptions. I went to a private school, have a brother, and don't watch near as much TV as you do!!! And if you want to spend your time talking about internets and UFO's, then we certainly don't share the same company! Thank God for that!!

Obama Has Links to ANOTHER '60s Radical

Barack Obama has consistently sought to distance himself from former domestic terrorist Bill Ayers. But it???s a different story with another student radical from the 1960s ??? Marilyn Katz ??? who is actually on Obama???s fundraising team.

Katz, a public relations executive in Chicago, serves on Obama???s national finance committee. She is listed as a fundraising ???bundler??? on his Web site, has hosted fundraisers for the candidate, and attended the Democratic Convention as part of the Illinois delegation.

But during the violent protests of the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Katz was the security chief for the radical Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), which spawned Ayers and the Weather Underground.

Comment: What a sad day for America! Here we are all fighting with one another on which party has let us down when we all know the truth of the matter is that both the Democrats and Republicans have been letting us down for years. There is more than enough blame to go around for everyone. We have "the finest government money can buy" in the great USA - and we only have ourselves to blame. We continue to vote for the same incumbents or career politicians until a crisis or scandal breaks, but we do not hold them accountable and vote them out of office based on their "performance". We truly need a new and strong third party movement in this country that represents the majority of Americans - who are centrist and have more common sense than all members of the House and Senate put together. Ross Perot was ahead of his time and he did a service for this country at the time of that election because he told us the truth. We need more compromise between all parties and a third party could force that. Unfortunately, that takes money, and all the money goes to the Democrats or Republicans because most of them are for sale. The vast majority of the American public were vehemently against the $700 billion bail out fund idea - but they all ignored us - because they still need that money from the banks and Wall Street. This may sound simplistic, and of course it is a much more complex issue - but if we were truly a country based on the free market - we would have let those companies fail - and used the money to loan to and expand the companies that could hold their own and create more jobs. Until we can come to terms with and truly face the reality of our current corrupt two party system - nothing can change. In the meantime - vote the bums out - all of them! If they have been in office for more than two terms - it's time for them to go - because they are part of the problem - not the solution. They will never go for term limits so we have to limit their terms ourselves unless they actually perform. We must actually spend the time to pay attention to the issues, watch their voting records, and send them our opinions. We'll all have plenty of time do this in the future because so many of us will be unemployed!

The time has come for Americans to sweep away the far-right wing lunatic Christian nut jobs in the government who are hell-bent on stuffing their backwards views down our throats. We've had enough. The neo-cons have put us in a colossal mess and they need to pay by getting the hell out and staying out for good. All you cons care about is yourselves and the wealthy cronies. You don't give a hoot about your country. It's always, "Me! Me! Me!"

You far-right cons represent all that is unpleasant about human character: bigotry, ignorance, arrogance, mean-spiritedness, vindictiveness, dishonesty, lack of class, selfishness, lack of compassion, etc. Observing the way you've been running the various campaigns around the country, your true colors have shown right through. You have run this great country of ours into the ground with amazing incompetence and sown hatred across party and ideological lines. You'll be swept out and the rest of America will do whatever it can to keep you lunatics in your hole where you belong.

Oh boy, we've got a lot of doom and gloom from the republicans tonight. They just refuse to accept Obama's success on their choice of a slightly retarded man for president in 2000. Come on, the guy has been a failure/loser all of his life, did you think something would change by making him president? You hate socialism, well where has the $10 trillion gone? It has gone to coporate welfare, you think haliburton's success this past 8 years has been because they are an excellent company. The republicans gave us a piece of dog *** in 2000 and told us it was candy, and after 8 years some 20% of the population is still convinced that the dog *** they're eating is candy.

I'm sure all of you crying about Obama being a socialist are the same people that brought us Comrade Dubya and Cheney. The people responsible for warrant less wire taps, torture, imprisonment without access to a trial, and last but not least nationalizing the banking system. Forget about socialism, Dubya brought us communism. Yes, welcome to the Soviet Union of Exxon/Mobile. Thank you comrade republicans.

    • Posted By: wcmartin @ 11/03/2008 7:56:16 PM

Torture, improsonment, wire tapping....OF ENEMIES. How easily we forget the feeling of September 12, 2001. People were asking...could we have stopped it? What can we do to ensure this will never happen again? What can we do to capture and kill the people who are responsible for this act.

By the way, I don't agree with the banking bailout, but the Democrats drove the financial system into the ground with their positions on the mortgage industry and the last time I checked, they overwhelmingly supported the bailout plan and wanted to expand it by giving more government handouts (or spreading the wealth, as Obama would call it).

      • Posted By: basedrum777 @ 11/03/2008 8:06:50 PM

If you really think Obama supporters are voting for something, rather than voting against something, you are fooling yourself. Look no further than Obama's advertising and the debates. He kept telling you to vote for him, not because he has the right ideas for America, but instead because he was not a member of the same party as George Bush. You really should look a little further into who supports McCain or maybe you should have attended one of his rallies. Trust me, these people were not toothless, uneducated racists. Just the opposite. They were not like the lady who exited the Obama rally in South Florida saying that once Obama was elected, she would no longer have to worry about putting gas in her car or paying her mortgage. Apparently, she was convicned that Obama would do this for and that she could skip working hard to pay for gas and a house.

      • Posted By: ru4eel @ 11/03/2008 7:49:36 PM

oh so very typical. take everything and twist it around to make it something it is not. This is getting old and people are not buying that mentality anymore.
McCain really should have spent more time explaining his ideas instead of trying to trash his opponent. Perhaps he would have fared much better in this election.
Have you looked at Obama's website? There are a lot of great ideas there. He has explained in great detail his plan. He is so much more than just a great orator.
He also refused to get into a mud wrestling contest with his opponent. They were quick to throw the mud but he never once waivered and always took the high road ... turn the other cheek ... a true Christina.

        • Posted By: wcmartin @ 11/03/2008 8:06:27 PM

The high road? He put out commercials in Florida telling seniors that McCain would cut their medicare and social security benefits. He had a commercial of John McCain saying he voted with Bush 90% of the time, which was video from 2003. He had another commercial saying McCain opposed equal pay for equal work, when the legislation he opposed was one of taking the statute of limitations off a specific type of discrimination, while maintaining a one year statute on other types of discrimination. Obama lied about his support of infanticde. He lied about his relationship with Ayers. He lied about his commitment to public campaign financing. He lied about his campaign's financial support of ACORN. He flip flopped on domestic drilling. He flip flopped on his support of expanded nuclear. He flip flopped on his position regarding the DC gun ban and the 2nd amendment. The list goes on and on. Obama is many things, but he hardly the candidate riding the "high road."
