I would rather pay $300 for a woman to get an abortion than to have money taken from me for years for this family to be on welfare. It's crazy...but try birth control! You can't afford a child? Don't have one. Welfare is very limited anyway. You might not qualify if you have a $10/hr job. I would love to see this country take care of the children we already have. Making sure we have high standards in our schools and at least 90% graduate from college. We are so worried about creating the "unborn" that we forget about taking care of the ones which are born. That sometimes means making sure we don't over populate our society!

And keep your religious liberties out of my life as well! I have a right to my own beliefs and don't need your religious convictions shoved down my throat. Great...you wouldn't have an abortion...and you think your have better morals than me? What type of volunteer work do you have in your life to help improve the lives of others? I have been told that I dont' have morals since I am not a christian and very pro-choice. Yet, I find that I have better morals than most people. I have volunteered and worked with children since I was 10. I have changed the life of many children who went on to college because I made them believe they could do it! I run donation drives for coats, clothes, food, cell phones, toys, etc. Morals is doing what is right for society. Society is a group of people who are alive and breathing.

Now before you call me a liberal....I am conservative when it comes to guns, immigration, and welfare. I am very spirital yet not a christian. I am for the death penality and also very for abortions. But I would like to see the abortions go down and knowledge of sex and birth control go up! Education is the key...not religion. Let's stick to what's real.

How can you equate the death penalty to the murder of innocent (little) human lives? What crime have the unborn committed? A good measure of a nation is how it treats the "least" of its people. Who could be less than the unborn, unable to speak for themselves? The author trivializes the topic of abortion, I wonder if he would have trivialized the extermination of 6 million Jews in Nazi Germany if he lived back then. The attitude that abortion is a small, inconsequential, insignificant, trifling matter is mystifying to me.

You are assuming that innocent people have not been killed by capital punishment when in fact there are many documented cases where people have been executed for crimes they did not commit.

Love the Living? The unborn are living. They have heartbeats, they're own blood type, and they can feel pain. Yes, there are tons of problems in this world, but we can't ignore one just to fix another. Pro-Life people choose to fight for the un-born, just as you may choose to fight for the abused. That doesn't mean we don't support the abused, and want to help them. But many times, it seems the opposite for you. You would rather abort a perfect unborn child, than to have it born into imperfect circumstances. I'm sorry but that's not your choice. You made the choice to go on that date, you made the choice to take off your clothes, you made the choice to have sex. You had several choices and so now, this is not your choice. You made your choice, already. Don't take away a life, just to fufill your own, completely selfish, wants. Give up nine months and adopt the baby out if you must. Just don't kill that child. The complete and utter disrespect for human life on the side of the Pro-"Choice" supporters is disgusting, and wrong. If you have been raped, that is a horrible thing to go though. I have been as well. But you create two victims when you kill your child. That child is still as much a part of you as your rapist. It has been proven that having the child is a huge part of the healing process. Even if you hate the person that did that to you, how can you hate the child that is yours and show the ultimate hate by killing it. By killing that beautiful, pure, perfect, child becuase something ugly, impure, and horrible happened to you it a sure sign that you are no better than your rapist.

The abortion debate was right where it belonged. Buried in the closet!

What many people aren't realizing or what they are forgetting(if they call really do call themselves pro-life christians/catholics) is the fact that the unborn have no voice, we are the voices for them in order for them to have a life...and they say we must focus on those who are alive, please, the ones who are in the war or who are suffering have a voice and they made a decision to do what they wanted to do, nobody made it for them. Better yet all of those people who are saying we should give up already the battle to save those who are unborn, are sending the wrong message to future leaders(kids, teens etc.) I am a teenage 19 year old girl who is pregnant with two identical boys, now i know what i did was wrong, but i also know that what i have inside of me is a blessing. If i would have aborted, then i would have never known how blessed i am knowing that there are people are there trying to have a family and cant. Instead of giving out the message that "maybe it is ok to abort" because truthfully its the message one is giving, one should be telling the young ones(since now there is a higher percentage in pregnant teens) to assume responsibility and if one really cant handle the baby once it has been born then to give it up to adoption which is better then to kill a baby who didnt deserve to die.

I am a Christian who is pro-life with reservations. I will no longer support the Republican Party that has deluded the religious right into thinking they are going to outlaw abortion while in the meantime committing evil in the name of Christ. It's called distract and steal - something they learned from pick-pockets on the street. They aren't going to outlaw abortion - it's big business.

While abortion foes are often described as the ???religious right???, one need not be particularly religious nor a politically conservative to understand that Roe v. Wade was a poor decision. People may be surprised to find that the man who wrote the dissent against Roe v. Wade, Justice Byron White, was a pro-choice Democrat.
He believed the Supreme Court was very wrong to take this issue away from the states and the democratic process, and he was right. The Constitution is silent on the issue of abortion. Thus, by the Tenth Amendment, it ought to be left to the states to determine. Should abortion be legal in this country? Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe yes under certain circumstances. But that critical issue is one that according to the Constitution ought to be settled in the legislative branch not by nine unelected lawyers in Washington.
This is also a reason why conservatives and moderates are so troubled by Roe v. Wade. To get a political answer they liked, a liberal court trampled on the Constitution, the voting rights of the people, and an unborn child's right to simply have someone try to pass a law on their behalf.

If you will allow Pro-life and Pro-choice, you must allow Abortion vs. Subjugation. You are advocating the subjugation of the pregnant woman to the dictates of someone else's conscience. That is slavery. There is nothing in scripture that speaks to abortion. Nothing. Since nature is the foremost abortionist, how could there be? If the crackpot idea of calling a fertilized egg a person is considered reasonable, then I submit that any woman who asks for a pregnancy test or any test to ascertain the health of the fetus is considering abortion. No tests of any kind including pregnancy test should be given to any woman who declares herself Pro-life. There is no exception to allow abortion in the fanatic's mind, ergo no tests. In other words, let the Pro-life woman die if that is the price of preventing abortion. There is no point in saving the Pro-life mother's life whatsoever. If the baby can be saved, so be it. Otherwise, aborting the fetus is murder and the mother is the murderer. You want orthodoxy, you got it. Does the god of the old or new testament say anything proscribing abortion? Nothing, except to posit that a deity impregnated a young Jewish girl, and the husband was not allowed to put her aside.

Your attempts to justify via subjugation are ludicrous. Biblically ???Thou shalt not kill??? covers it all. Abortion ends a life, not in a natural way (natural law), but through an invasive procedure. Your argument about pregnancy tests is ludicrous too. You obviously have issues! I pray that God heals all the wounds that would cause you to lash out so irrationally. I also pray that you have no children, now or in the future, oh but how would you, you would abort them because you don???t see that as a problem.

Work to achieve justice on behalf of other, I will speak out for those who can not speak, Abortion is still murder, So those of you who don't beleave in God and his Son Jesus, you better be right, Because if you are wrong you will be Judged. For all your actions, My the unborn have mercy on you because God won't.

1truechristian1 must be really tired--all the separate and distinct issues are blending together into mush for them--or--are they just trying to turn a quick and witty response? For Iraq, can we not give the U.S. the benefit of the doubt that we nobly gave 23 million Iraqis the chance to pursue "life, liberty, and happiness" like we do? Was there something ignoble about deposing an evil dictator for once, while saying, "No More?" Also, notice that the battlefield for the past 5+ years has been in their backyard, not Manhatten. Did you--presumably a Democrat--plan on doing nothing differently in the Middle East s for years to come--or that we just continue to have to react to a USS Cole, Khobar Towers, 9/11, African Embassies, or Beirut every year or so? As for "in the name of oil," I notice that the world oil markets have continued to govern the "global" price of oil since 911 with not a lot of influence by U.S. foreign policy.

Unityfirst23, God did not grant women the right to terminate their pregnancies. The Government did. Abortion is a positive right; a positive right is a right granted by the Government and usually sustained at someone else???s expense. The right to life, liberty and property are those known as negative rights. In the case of abortion, the Government has granted a positive right to a woman at the expense of her unborn child???s life.
