I feel that by going to that school as a child has given him an advantage he has learned how to talk to other people of other an other faith with out insulting them. so just maybe he may be able to find a way to reach at least a diplomatic accord then just maybe we may have a few years of peace and compassion for our fellow humans on this planet we have to share.

American foreign policy has never been viewed with such anticipation by the global community in these modern times, as it is at this moment. Our nation's approach to terrorists and rogue dictators wil now be handled with a new vision in mind for reducing the threats these groups pose to the free world. The shot gun approach towards achieving global peace has been tried and will now be tempered by the rational use of building long-lasting coaliton forces, the advancement of cooperation within Interpol, and hopefully productive summits amongst the G-8 leaders with regards to development of a more unified approach to terrorism that employs both diplomacy , as well as counter-terrorism measures such as military force.

The free world must begin to envision a Middle East that has its place in the world as does North America, Europe, Asia, South America, Africa, and Australia. The Middle East can no longer simply be viewed as the home of OPEC, birth of modern day terrorism, or the cradle of the Muslim faith. The Middle East has governments, diverse culture, economies, and national defense systems that deserve the level of recognition that the US has bestowed upon its staunch ally, Israel. America will never forget the tragedy of 9/11, though must use reason and not emotion to formulate an effective foreign policy which will serve us well into the distant future. God Bless America

    WELL SAID BILL COSBY!!

'They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English.
I can't even talk the way these people talk:
    Why you ain't,
    Where you is,
    What he drive,
    Where he stay,
    Where he work,
    Who you be...

And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk.

And then I heard the father talk.

Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads.
You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth.

In fact you will never get any kind of job making a decent living.

People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an Education, and now
We've got these knuckleheads walking around.

The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal.

These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids.

    $500 sneakers for what?

And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics.

I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit.

Where were you when he was 2?

Where were you when he was 12?

Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol?

And where is the father? Or who is his father?

People putting their clothes on backward:
Isn't that a sign of something gone wrong?

People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something?

Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercing] going through her body?

What part of Africa did this come from??

We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa ...

I say this all of the time. It would be like white people saying they are European-American. That is totally stupid.

I was born here, and so were my parents and grandparents and, very likely my great grandparents. I don't have any connection to Africa, no more than white Americans have to Germany, Scotland, England, Ireland, or the Netherlands. The same applies to 99 percent of all the black Americans as regards to Africa. So stop, already!! !

With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap.....And all of them are in jail.

Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem.

We have got to take the neighborhood back.

People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different 'husbands' -- or men or whatever you call them now.

We have millionaire football players who cannot read.

We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs. We, as black folks have to do a better job.

Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you are hurting us.

We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.

" We cannot blame the white people any longer."
Dr. William Henry 'Bill' Cosby, Jr., Ed.D.

George Soros finally got what he wanted! I have a feeling that his influence is going to extend well beyond the campaign stage. Everybody was touting what a great campaign Obama was running. But he wasn't running it. It was running him. With enough money you can buy anything. You can buy extreme order. George Soros is going to continue coddling Obama through his presidency to make him look good. He will likely be in contact with foreign leaders, buying their cooperation and easing their fears. The Democratic take over of congress was probably engineered long in advance. This also makes Obama's job easier and insulates him from the tough issues that presidents have to deal with in terms of senate battles between Republicans and Democrats. George Soros likely bought Obama an Army of advisors to answer any and all questions. Remember Soros is the financial genious that made his money off of the securities markets. He may have even had a hand in crashing the stock market to favor the Democrats just before the election. There is no way that the most unqualified presidential candidate in history got to where he did without such massive help. Some have speculated that after Obama won the Presidency, the media would turn on him and the honeymoon would be over but there is a broader agenda. Soros is buying up all of these newspapers that are endorsing Obama which is an attempt at a Socialist propaganda state. He will likely retain his control over the large media networks as well. What is the price Obama pays for having his ego stoked? An agenda that makes George Soros the grand puppet master of planet Earth!esidency that the media would turn on him and the honeymoon would be over but there is a broader agenda. I agree mostly. We should get out of Iraq and Afghanistan, slowly but sure ly and help them from out side, not necessarily militarily, but by providing assistance in health care, education road building etc. Encourage neighbor Arabs to help them more. Keep weapons from all sides, Train policemen,, send in Social workers if they can be protected by local police.Leave the arrogance and superiority complex . STOP taking sides favoring Israele. Press them to stop aggression, ask them to compensate for their taking land and propw

Obama inherited a mess from the Bush administration, it will take time for him to repositione himself and find new ways how to deal with the Middle East issues such us the the palestinian / israeli conflict going on now for 60 years, the Iraq and Afghan wars, Iran, Guantanamo.......
I believe that Obama and it's new administration need some courage and gutts to distance it self little bit
from Israel and the pro-israeli lobbies in the U.S, Obama administration need to retrieve the role of "honest
broker" to solve the Mid-East problems especially the Israeli / Palestinian conflict.
I'm hopeful that Obama will think seriously about getting a peace agreement between the Palestinians and the Israelis, end the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan and close Guantanamo.
I know it's his first term in office, taking a courageous decision like Carter did when he brought peace
between Egypt and Israel will put in jeopordy he's second term, he might not be reelected for a second term
but at least he will show the world that the U.S. is a sovereign nation not ruled by the Israelis like under Bush
administration when the New-Cons were playing the masters and Bush the executioner.

Iraq was attacked for "no valid reason"? It's precisely that kind of nonsense that keeps the Middle East in the middle ages. Iraq, following its failed conquest of its Muslim neighbor, consistently and flagrantly violated its cease-fire agreement with the U.S., firing at U.S. military planes repeatedly. It ignored numerous U.S. Security Council resolutions demanding it open its doors to prove it had dismantled its chemical weapons and nuclear plans. From a humanitarian standpoint, Iraq's dictator killed and tortured a ridiculously higher number of people - many of them Shi'ite Muslims - than Serbia, where Bill Clinton somehow invoked NATO's self-defense charter to stop "genocide." Do you argue that the Middle East was better off with Saddam Hussein in power? Do you argue that Iraqis, Shi'ites, Sunnis, Christians, and Kurds alike, are not better off voting without the Ba'ath gun to their heads? That Kuwait is less secure now? The real threat to your "friends" over there, the little tyrants who are petrified of a strong America, is that we might infect the region with democracy and freedom, and that the people do what people all over the world do, and throw off their oppressors and end them. That's why they hate us. If Obama compromises on that goal, they will be victorious.

    • Posted By: MBrando @ 11/10/2008 3:56:46 PM

You wanna know why Irak was attacked and occupied, I'll give you some reasons:
1- For it's oil, Irak is the second largest reserve of oil in the world after Saudi-Arabia.
2- For Israel, destroying the Iraqui military capabilities was one of the goals that Israel wanted to achieve, The problem this time is that the New-Cons who are supporting Israel made a grave mistake, by destroying Irak they empowered Iran which is a far more dangerous country for Israel.
In respect to the tyrants, all the arab rulers are tyrants, I have question for you, why your beloved
administration did not attack the tyrants in Saudi Arabia or in Jordan?, and I'm not gonna wait for your response because I know why, the response is that Saudi government and Jordanian government are
pupet to the current administration and friends to Israel.

America is a rogue nation, America sponsor terrorism, commit torture, threaten the use weapons of mass destruction, break UN resolutions every day, attack and invade other nations, secret prison camps, overthrow other governments, interfere in other countries elections++

With that logic other countries have a right to invade America.

    Mr. Benchemsi,

As an American, I'm sorry for the conflict that has come between us and the people of the Middle East. Now that Obama has won, I hope we are able to work together to put all that behind us. Tonight in his speech, speaking to the people of the USA, he spoke of reuniting our country, but he also said,

"And to all those watching tonight from beyond our shores, from parliaments and palaces, to those who are huddled around radios in the forgotten corners of the world, our stories are singular, but our destiny is shared, and a new dawn of American leadership is at hand."

"To those -- to those who would tear the world down: We will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security: We support you. And to all those who have wondered if America's beacon still burns as bright: Tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity and unyielding hope."

"That's the true genius of America: that America can change. "

Mr. Benchemsi, I join you in the hope that my country truly has changed, and that we can go forward hand in hand with our brothers of all religions, in all parts of the world, to bring peace to all people. One day, one election, won't change all Americans. Many will still hold their hatred and fear of Muslims, just as many Muslims will hold their hatred and fear of America. But I feel like today we've elected the right man to help us all work together to overcome that hatred and fear and finally become friends.

    Insha'Allah

Reading some of these posts, I must say that their are a lot of angry and ignorant people out there! President Obama is a smart and educated man (along with his wife and vice president Biden!) I have never felt so comfortable to be an american! I am just shocked more people don't see that! He is a calm and cool guy! I'm sure he will do us all good on all levels and all issues that have come about because of a twice elected Bush! I have NEVER in all my years voting seen so many people glad to be a part of Americal! It seems to me President Obama will bring out the best of everybody!! Of all races!! So everyone else get a grip and prepare for a better America, because it is finally here!!

Here is one more who agrees with you. When POTUS-elect Obama, showed respect to and for McCain and McCain could only show his distaste for Obama. I knew right there, Obama would be the only one to help regain the respect of the World for the USA.

  • Posted By: cal-reb @ 11/05/2008 11:46:23 AM

Now that BHO is POTUS elect I do hope he is more than a talking point and said whatever needed to be said to be elected.I read that a poll deyermined thar 95% of blacks voted for him. Was it because of skin color or were they believed his in his ideology? As for keeping god or as some have put it religion out of politics, if you ventured to study what the founding fathers believed and had to say about this you would find that they would dissagree with you. Lets not forget that in 7 years we have been saved from home attacks under the Bush admin. but England and Spain can't say that! I believe it is us the the every day American that can make a difference can do more harm than good. I can't help what others think of us when we try to help others in our quest for a free safe life or when we as a country of people send money to help in disasters more than any other nation. Not govt. money but personal donations. I don't why other countries can't grasp our democracy (if you will) feel that we are butting when we would like basic human rights for all and to live a warm house vs. dirt forfloor cave. As for following French advice, if not for us butting in thier best thinking would have them speaking German!

Yeah, I wonder how many people read that e-mail. We do need to butt in at the right time in the right place to be respected. Iraq, wrong time.

Obama has a muslim name and was born a muslim (though he claims he never was a muslim). This means that he converted from Islam to Christianity. Last time I checked in the Muslim world when a Muslim converts to Christianity it is a huge abomination! The converts get shunned, thrown in jail and/or killed! The fact that Obama has a Muslim name or was a Muslim at birth won't mean anything positive to those animals. Once Obama is elected the terrorist won't stop and the Muslim world will still be ass backwards and the rest of the world will understand how whack they really are.

This author makes the same amnestic mistake so many others do when saying there was no valid reason for invading Iraq. The facts:
    1) After he was expelled from Kuwait, the majority of the world (including much of the Middle East) agreed that Saddam Hussein should not have weapons of mass destruction, either nuclear or chemical. This was expressed as a U.N. resolution with little disagreement.
    2) U.N. resolutions required regular, rigorous weapons inspections, but Saddam Hussein used the same brinksmanship tactics employed by North Korea and Iran: sometimes cooperate with inspectors, sometimes restrict their activities, then finally invoke ???national sovereignty??? and refuse entry to the inspectors.
    3) It was only when a large U.S. invasion force had accumulated at his borders that Saddam Hussein finally agreed to let in weapons inspectors.
    4) At this point, some foreign leaders claimed that the inspections were working and that invasion was unnecessary, but this ignores the fact that the inspections were only allowed by Hussein under the threat of imminent invasion, and that the U.S. could neither maintain a large invasion force in neighboring countries, nor repeatedly deploy one. Does anyone doubt that Hussein would have started playing the same games of brinksmanship once the invasion force had left? Who then would have enforced subsequent inspections with the threat of invasion? The U.S., again?
    5) While searches after the invasion failed to locate nuclear or chemical weapons in Iraq, the best intelligence prior to invasion could not exclude the possibility of weapons programs in Iraq. No one, neither the U.S. government nor the other countries of the world, was certain that Hussein did not have a secret weapons program hidden somewhere in Iraq???s large territory. To use the absence of nuclear/chemical weapons in Iraq as indication that the invasion was invalid or unnecessary ignores the central concepts: that Saddam Hussein had refused to cooperate with inspections until invasion was imminent, that he would continue to defy inspections once the threat of immediate invasion had ended, and that there was no practical way to maintain a continuous threat of immediate invasion. Simply because Saddam Hussein had not yet developed nuclear/chemical weapons does not mean that he did not want them nor that he did not plan on eventually acquiring them, else why did he resist the inspections?

All along I thought the hatred from the middle east is because we were the infidels made worse because we supported Israel. Now you say the hatred emanates from our presence in Iraq. Somebody in the Islamofacist camp is confused. If I recall correctly, the attacks on us started before we were in Iraq or even Afghanistan so your position does not make sense. So your position that if Obama wins the Islamofacists will love us doesn't make sense either because we are still infidels and we still support Isreal, at least today we do. Tomorrow who knows? We can't really tell because he has not been clear on that. Maybe if we leave Iraq AND abandon Israel, then we would just be in the regular "infidel" group like the rest of non muslims and be subject to a little less hatred.

    • Posted By: forte88 @ 11/04/2008 6:22:01 PM

First of all, Iraq did NOT attack us. The country of Afghanistan did not attack us, but the Taliban who were in charge of Afghanistan were harboring Bin Laden who DID attack us. I don't think many Americans are against the attack on Afghanistan. According to the article, most muslims welcome Bin Laden's capture. Bush the Republicans did not do their job. They promised us they would capture Bin Laden. They didn't! In fact, they didn't even go to his cave. Instead, they went after oil rich Iraq, and let Bin Laden escape. This is inexcusable. Complete incompetance. This is the end of the Bush adminitration, and the end of the Republican party as we have known it since the Reagan years. Good Riddance!

Bush/Cheney catch Bin Laden? If those two had Bin Laden cornered and unarmed, Cheney would accidentally shoot Bush in the face with his shotgun, and in the confusion Bin Laden would escape and go hide in a cave somewhere.

Not all terrorists are muslim. Timothy McVeigh was a right wing fundamentalist Christian and certainly the people shooting and bombing each other in Ireland were also all Christians. Every so often those cross buring Klan belonging Christians cross the line and use violence. Terrorists acts aren't limited to one religion or one ideology but appeal to any one who chooses to use violence to implement their own agenda.
