Come on everbody, let's stop blaming Sarah Palin for losing the election for McCain...after all, McCain picked her as 'running mate.'
Where does she go from here? Back to Alaska, hopefully for the rest of this lifetime. This whole talk of her becoming a player in the party is a joke. She was thrust onto America. Its not as if she went through the Republican primary field to get there. If she does decide to try her hand on the national stage, she will get chewed up and spat out at the feet of the party, many of whom blame her for the outcome of this election. She should either disappear, or become a mouthpiece for the far-right. Either way, she will never sniff the air of 1600 Penn. Ave.
Alaksa will elect her to another term...with open arms...She is a smart women...strong in her beliefs..and get things done ..I'm sure her father (CHUCK) as he is called..is very proud of his daughter..as well he should be..I'm sure she will be back for another run..She'll have my vote...It is amazing that a women can carry..load..and shoot a rifle ...kill the moose ..dress the animal..all with out the help of a man...guess that scares the hell out of you all...Oh..they do eat the meat...which I know is pretty darn good...
Sounds like Sara Palin scares you to death! Does a strong women scare you? Or does just a good looking strong women scare you? Sounds to me like you have some issues you need to deal with. How did you get along with your mother?
I'm not afraid of a strong woman! I gotta go my wife's calling me!
As long as you know your place, you've been trained well I see LOL!
Does a strong woman scare me? Not at all, I was a Hillary Clinton supporter. How does this election taste? Bitter? Little hard to swallow? Oh thats gotta sting.
Why is every person who speaks the truth about Palin accused of misogyny? Because unfounded ridicule is the only defense left when the truth becomes obvious. Just keep digging that hole. The deeper you go the funnier it is. I would vote for Hillary Clinton in a heartbeat.
I can???t imagine that the repugs would even consider dragging that tired laughing stock out one more time for 2012. But then again, I would never have believed that it could have happened the first time if I had not seen it for myself. Wake up Republicans, the day of the dunce is over.

So long Sarah, glad to see you go. Please keep your massive ego in the Klondike and avoid destroying any further elections.
Hey mizroid: Talk about egos' how 'bout your boy newly elected "Bareass Insane Osama!'? With his self-absorbed speeches and facy rhetoric, but that's OK, because your tongue is long & strong enough to lick his asscrack daily anyway. (You'll have at least four years to do it too !)
sarah Palin / 2012
My point was that yes education is important. Yet, just because someone has it doesn't mean that they do well or speak well or even communicate well. Sarah Palin is from a place where "if Russia comes- you need to fend for yourself" so I feel that she just needs time and more experience. Being laid back and using the accent that is from the part toof the country you are from doesn't imply that you are unedccated, which is what other people have said about her.
I am not trying to argue with you, but i find it odd for a teacher to post comments and not check for spelling errors.
Sarah who?
P L E A S E !!! Enough of SP. Send her home to Alaska, never to re-appear again. Better still place her back in the Genie bottle and throw the bottle into the ocean. She is hostile, divisive, inciteful of rebellion and racism, hypocritical of her opponent and yet she does exactly if not more of what she spew out of her mouth. We don't need any of the above as a leader. She is a disgrace to the party, period.
She is a disaster if ever she returns to
Doubt Ms. Palin will be a viable contender for the presidency in 2012. She lacks what it takes to be President, and it mat take many years for her to have the knowledge and leadership of Joe Biden, let alone President -elect Obama .
BTW, esq1991, seriously doubt all the rednecks in the McCain states understand the problems our country in incurring at this moment. Quit stereotyping African-Americans and Latino-Americans, they have a better of the issues than you give them credit for...God Bless America
All great advise that assumes that Palin acutally has the raw materials necessary that after studying and preparing herself, would convince a nation to change their mind regarding their first impression.
She is most likely a perfect representative for the state of Alaska which has a population of 650,000. But their may not be enough polish in america to shine up the rough edges or address a simple lack of the necessary inherent raw materials required to truly show up in 2012.
There is a theory that most overly ambitous people will aspire to a position of incomptency. In this case the big chair in 2012 would be Palin's aspiration to incomptency and I am not sure the country is ready to take that risk, now or 4 years from now.
This country took a chance on a guy who had essentially no experience either. He began his run for president when he was elected Senator and every step he took was for political expediency not to hurt his run. The only major thing he ran was Woods Foundation and the result of the Annenberg Challenge that he ran was a failure; $50,000,000 or $100,000,000 down the drain (except for the money funneled to ACORN, of course, as we have seen yesterday). I also have to question Dems who talk about the small size of Alaska. Does anyone remember a frontrunner for President by the name of Howard Dean? That state in terms of population, I beleive, is the same if not maybe smaller than Alaska. And, it actually holds less significance than Alaska with it's energy resources. Howard Dean's biggest resource he had to govern? Bed & Breakfasts and tourism, and he didn't even have to make sure the trees changed color at the right time. They did that on their own.
A gracious concession speech by McCain, the true McCain - too bad the true McCain has been missing for the past several months. Alas, it was not his time, his time was in 2000. FINALLY, a positive future, something to look forward to! Now we can walk with our heads held high. Leadership we can trust and be proud of, something we have not been able to do for 8 long years. A good legacy to leave our children and grandchildren and generations to come. A legacy of promise, hope, and good-will is the story left behind from this election, not like the nightmare from the corrupt and idiotic Cheney/Bush Administration. Thank Goodness - what a glorious, happy, encouraging, and hopeful time! I only hope the Lord watches over and protects Obama for his safety. Unlike the 2004 election where the electoral vote put Bush in office, the results of this election is the PEOPLE'S choice. A positive feel in attitudes and a true breath of fresh air. The fact that most of the world agrees with the PEOPLE'S choice of this election should tell us something - the MAJORITY of us know what that is.
We need to get along with our neighbors in the world, but frankly, I don't care if other countries agree with OUR choice of our leader. I live in the USA and love the freedoms, the capitalism, the opportunities. If I wanted to live in a socialist country with high taxes and high unemployment, I would move to France or some other European country. And to think the majority voted FOR his policies is naive. This is a repeat of Carter in 1976. They voted against Republicans, like they did in 1976 after Watergate. You will find out if the majority like his policies when it comes time for a second term, because when people realized they didn't like the change Carter brought (double-digit mortgages, gas shortages, etc.), they quickly voted him out of office.
He took losing far to easy. That is why the mainstream media picked him to run. They knew he would try to play the game they like to play. Very nice man and a great American but a very poor national canidate. The ball is in Obama's court now. We will get to second guess every move he makes and Monday morning QB every thing he does. Should be lots of fun!
First of all, not many people could or would run for this office with little or no preparation. She did and I wouldn't even want to. Second, is conservative so terrible? We look back in history and see that holding on to some basic values isn't always bad. Aren't those values what our country was founded on? Simple and laid back isn't always negitive. Some of our favorite presidents didn't even have what we call "Real schooling". Maybe we should all just relax and enjoy the positive way the world is finally viewing us which is where we really want to be.
Teacher2008--you make a good point, but all of the recent presidents HAVE had "proper schooling", something that is absolutely REQUIRED of anyone in such a high office these days--running the country as the world economic systems, in addition to our own, become increasingly more complex, necessitates a sophisticated understanding of the current geo/socio/political environment in which we exist. Surely you as a teacher can appreciate the value of knowledge, when properly put to use?
Obama did, and won!
It's amazing the flaws that great campaign management can mask...
Tip for Palin. if one day you decide to run for president, speak on unity ,instead of trying to divide america. that is was your biggest mistake. if you only target one set of ppl and x out the rest like you did for the past 2 months. then your chance of being the president is shot. also stop using religion as tool to manipulate to following you, it only works on small minded ppl.
I agree about the religion. I am not saying that she should ignore her faith but that is a quick way to turn off people. I really never understand why the abortion issue is the deciding issue for people, because I really do not see that it will ever be abolished (with the exception of late-term, which should be).
It's CHOICE, people, CHOICE, not ABORTION rights. Please, can everyone get that right? Literally? What we want is the RIGHT TO CHOOSE, which in these times requires a law to protect that right.
We don't need laws that prevent us from making personal choices about the health and well-being of our own bodies, regardless of our personal beliefs. We don't WANT people who have no business judging others telling us we're going to hell if we don't agree with them, telling us we're un-American if we don't agree with them, telling us we're "not like them" and making it seem like a bad thing...when in reality it's truly American to be diverse and different.
Shame on the ugly Americans who've been doing this throughout the presidential campaign.
I understand it is a "choice" but let's face it, from a legal standpoint,: the issues really go hand and hand. That is why I may have used the term. If abortion were illegal, then there is nothing to "choose," now is there? I know that the fact you are "pro-choice" does not mean you advocate women go out and have abortions; that it is their right to choose. But if you outlaw "choice," then are you not essentiallyoutlawing abortion, now aren't you? I; however, using the terminology I did really makes no difference.
Let me clarify the end of my comment; accident sent too soon - I understand it is a "choice" but let's face it, from a legal standpoint,: the issues really go hand and hand. That is why I may have used the term. If abortion were illegal, then there is nothing to "choose," now is there? I know that the fact you are "pro-choice" does not mean you advocate women go out and have abortions; that it is their right to choose. But if you outlaw "choice," then are you not essentially outlawing abortion, too? From a legal standpoint, both issues have essentially the same meaning so using the terms interchangeably is not really inconsistent. I understand the arguments but with medical technology, are we not approaching inconsistency? For example, we are now at a point where we can save premature babies at an earlier age than ever before. These are also points in a pregnancy where a woman could abort. A doctor has a duty to save the life of that premature baby who is born but can kill a baby at the same point if the mother wants a late-term or partial-birth abortion - whatever term you want me to use. If that premature baby is a "life" that deserves to be saved when it is born prematurely, why is a baby at the same point in the pregnancy not a life when the mother wants a late-term abortion? I know you are not going to like my use of the word "kill" because it affects your sensibilities and shocks into the truth of what is being done; but anytime you stop the life of something or someone that could live, then that is called killing. You talk about "ugly Americans." Have you ever seen what a partial-birth abortion (or late-term or whatever term assuages your guilt) is? THAT is ugly. But you are entitled to your opinion just like those who disagree with you. Funny how when anyone disagrees with pro-choice people in whole or in part they are called names, but take offense when the other side calls them a name. So much for free speech, I guess.
McCain lost because people hate Bush. It was all about bad timing for him. If Bush had done well, McCain would have one. Simple. Now he is too old, and will never have another chance. Palin has good speaking skills, but lacks the ability to deliver effective rhetoric. If she can master this skill, as Obama has, and ride in on his demise, (it will be impossible for him to deliver on all of his promises) she has just as good a chance as anybody else will in 2012. If however, Obama has a productive term, it will be hard for any challenge from the GOP until 2016. By then she will 52, and will have an even better chance, if she keeps her nose clean.
It could be that all too soon Alaska would become independent with the big oil a new "arab'
This might be a quicker way to satisfy the Palins' ambition
.....................................Palin has reached her Zenith and will have a hard time in acheiving the Big Time as V.P. or President in the future. She will be far "Out Of The Loop" back in Alaska which only has 3 electoral votes and the GOP will need quality candidates in Mainland Regions rich in electoral votes . She will at her desk there away from the National Limelight and she will find the pace and competition severe among aspiring GOP personalities in 2012. Palin will loose some of her major asset (Cuteness) when she is 48 in that year. Plus Palin will always be associated with the GOP Chaos after the Convention in 2008 and the GOP Wipeout Loss to Obama, people now view her as a looser and know about alot of negatives now plus the Media will be ontop of Palin's political activities in Alaska.......she will not be coming back as "new stuff" when her glitz fades away and new personalities arise.......................Palin has just Missed The Boat for National Office!!!!
It is as if the author was in a time capsule over the last two months. Do you realize that Ms. Palin is incapable of any of what you suggest. Writing a book? Let's start with putting together a coherent sentence.
The day of the dunce is over? Have you followed the news in the last 18 hours? That republican majority which was to last a generation in congress was given its final blow. And please, don't compare Palin to Hillary Clinton, Clinton is head and shoulders above the best of them, let along know-little-about-anything Palin.
There is no way in hell that Palin could ever compare to Hillary Clinton. I am the financial manager for one extremely wealthy 90 yr. old life long Republican who voted for Obama. I asked what had turned him from the dark side he folded his arms and mumbled "That Woman" he couldn't bring himself to even say her name. He was definitely a McCain supporter until Palin came on board.
I do hope that Obama includes Sen. Clinton in his administration, I didn't vote for her but I have always thought the Clintons were great.
Until Republicans stop putting into leadership people like Bush, Rove and Boehner they'll continue to lose support nationally. Not only are they nasty and unstatesmanlike, they don't seem to acknowledge reality or their mistakes, they just spin them.
The Republican party has become a Southern, white, pro-rich party and the electoral map reflects just that. Until they get it together and run on a platform that appeals to a wider electorate, they'll continue to lose. As a Hispanic male, I didn't hear a single thing from McCain (or saw a single McCain staff) that spoke to my concerns, needs or beliefs, I only heard things that frankly, scared the hell out of me. In a country with just two main parties, no one can afford to have only one party that can lead.
But hey, Boehner, Sarah Palin, Giuliani, Romney and Huckabee, if these are the people they want to put forward, have at it. See you in 50 years.
I disagree with her not being a senator. She should take a page out of Obama's book. Write books - what it was like to be the first Repub VP candidate; the joys and challenges of being a special-needs child. And get into the senate if Stevens is forced out. If she is in there for a few years and does some of the other things you suggest, how could she be accused of being "too green." After all, Obama began his Pres. run after being elected Senator. Even his own party was not sure of his qualifications; see the MSM articles in early 2007. She at least would have governor under her belt, too. And think how interesting it would be for her and John McCain to still be able to try to accomplish what they wanted to do, albeit in the Senate.
Honestly I would really be surprised if Palin wins a 2nd term as Governor.
