While I could definitely add to your list regarding Pailn's obvious deficiencies for the position of vice president (frankly, even governor of Alaska), you did an excellent job of sizing up Ms. Palin, I found her an effrontery to intelligent women everywhere. And while not necessary for or against Hillary, I feel nominating Palin was a complete insult to her. After all, while you might not agree with her agenda, at the very least she is highly intelligent and far, far, far more capable of being our president that Ms. Palin EVER will be.

Wow kirstencoy! Bitter much? morals? experience with running a family? are you kiding me?!?! she has such a strong sense of morality that she spent $150,000 of the Republicans money to pay for designer clothes and has the nerve to try to connect with middle america. She's doing such a FINE job of running her family that her underage teenage daughter is pregnant. You're right about one thing, she is not like most women. Most women don't shoot moose from helicopters or participate in beauty pagents or attend 4 colleges for a Bachelors Degree. Honorable? I dont' think it was very honorable for her to get on an airplane as far along as she was when she knows it could hurt the baby. We needed some kind of hope in this country. The last 8 years have been nothing but an embarassment. We are fighting a war on oil, not on terror, we shouldn't be fighting, our economy is bottoming out, despite the bailout package, and we have lost the respect of the rest of the world. I'd say we do need some hope. I am disgusted at the GOP for having the NERVE to bring someone as unprepared and delusional as Sarah Palin on the Vice Presidential ticket. Don't blame Obama for taking away our freedom, Bush did that with the Patriot Act. While Clinton had a part to play in the collapse of our economy encouraging Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to give sub-prime mortgages to people who couldn't afford them, the trillion-dollar-never-ending war on oil made it what it is today. I see you must be one of those uneducated white women who don't think so much. And keep in mind i didn't call you that, Sarah Palin did. Her exact quote was "people with out education don't tend to think so much, so it's easier for them to support me." I'm truly sorry for you to be walking around, uneducated and full of religious bigotry.

    IN REPLY TO IZME:
    "Brutal the media is"????????????
Woman, how about how brutal our COUNTRY is????
At least Palin doesn't support BABY MURDER like Hussein!

I beg to disagree. If you look at the statistics issued today, the independent voters voted overwhelmingly for Obama and their main concern was economic. So they, in fact, were NOT voting against Bush ?McCain but for economic relief. A more logical approach, don't you think?? Than fearmongering???

Let's all hope that when the Republican's meet this week they will realize that it takes more than 22% of the population to elect a president. Given that that is the higher end of Sarah Palin's "base" it would seem an impossible task to change her image and widen her appeal enough to stand a chance of winning any election in the forseeable future. So we all should be thankful for our president-elect and simply forget Sarah Palin for the time being. Let's savor what we have acheived!

I am terrified to have Sarah Palin any closer to DC than Anchorage. She is not only unfit for the job of president, she is incapable of it. She cannot become president, and would be more than dangerous if elected. She would anger many other countries, and further devide this country.

You can't be serious! Sarah Palin will never be ready to be leader of the United States of America in four years or in eight. If you really believe she can be President, then you???re more WHACKY! then her.

Some advice for the Alaska governor should she seek her party's nomination in four years.
    ______________________________

As a Moderate Republican, please STOP with this nonsense! With all due respect, Palin is not, and will not be ready in four years. Maybe in 8 - 12 years---but definitely not in 4!

Congrats to all the Obama supporters out there! I was an avid McCain supporter, but Obama won the election hands down. He secured the Electoral Vote early on and the truth is it was an uphill battle for John from day one he announced his presidential candidacy.

Time to move on! Let's give Obama all the support he deserves! I just hope he comes through on all his promises for helping out the Middle-Class. And that Joe Biden gives him good advice on Foreign Policy matters. Unfortunately, it's still a scary world out there.

Does Obama got what it takes to turn this country around? Only time will tell folks!

    GOD BLESS AMERICA!

OMG!! Winchester, I wholeheartedly agree with you...Ha! Ha! The Govenor of the state of Alaska doesn't even know the countries that make up NORTH AMERICA or that Africa was a continent! Does she even know where she is right now???? If she runs for anything outside of Alaska, Washington AND the media will rip her a new one 4 sure! What an ignoramus...and to think THAT almost became the VP of the entire United States of America! Whew, that was close. Oh...that's right...it wasn't EVEN close!!! LOL HAAAAAAAAAAA!

Is she on the Bimbo or Hillbilly ticket ? Her chances of winning the white house are slim to none and with that I say sure, let the republiPUKES put her on the ticket. Lipstick on a pig my ass. More like perfume on a pig.

  • Posted By: engine40 @ 11/06/2008 6:30:59 PM

Hmm...I'd vote for her in 2012.

2012 Playbook? I didn't realize she knew how to read.

Here is my worry. Ted Stevens looks like he will get re-elected despite 7 felony convictions. There is a strong possibility that the senate will vote to cast him out. All they need is 2/3rds majority. If they don't vote to evict a felon, it will look bad on their records. Then Palin can resign her position as governor, appoint a deputy governor with a deal that she gets appointed to the Senate by the new Alaska Governor. It's been done before. That stink from Alaska isn't a rotting gutted moose. It's the republican party.

Kirstencoy, That is one of the most ridiculous posts I've seen (and that's saying something) Palin seems like a decent person, but she will never be ready for the big leagues. She played a very big role in having Mr. Muslim? Obama get elected. The people have spoken loud & clear. It's exactly this us against them mentality you spew that hinders our great country from making the necessary changes we need to make. It is a time for all of us to work together for America so that it doesn't "come to an end" as you say.

I strongly agree that Palin's morals must be questioned. Revelations of her $20,000 in airline bills flying her family around on Alaska's nickel and her $150,000+ shopping spree courtesy of the RNC raise in my mind very serious questions as to whether Ms. Palin can be trusted with public funds. The last thing America needs is a President who pads expense accounts and becomes embezzler-in-chief.

I feel so blessed that I do not have to hear the irritating voice again for a long time.

"After studying the issues (really, really hard) show up on a Sunday morning show."

This sentence -- and much of the rest of this article -- presumes that Gov. Palin has the curiosity and intellectual wherewithal to acquire a real understanding of the issues. I'm not so sure. She must have received more than adequate preparation for the Katie Couric interviews from the McCain campaign, who guarded her and coached her for weeks before ???releasing??? her to the press, and yet it became painfully obvious that Gov. Palin didn???t understand the economic crisis or the bailout. Instead, she strung together phrases in a way that rendered them meaningless.

Gov. Palin excels in front of a teleprompter (which involves reading someone else???s words), and she can perform adequately (but no better) in a debate format in which she is not asked follow-up questions. But sitting down face-to-face with a probing reporter who is interested in understanding Ms. Palin???s analysis of complex issues is an entirely different matter. She would implode on Meet The Press or George Stephanopoulos, much as she did with Ms. Couric. Let???s face it: Gov. Palin may not have the brains required for higher office, even if she has the political ambition and savvy.
