    Good afternoon all!!

    Congrats to ALL Americans!! The best man, w/ the best policies, that 53% of Americans feel they'll benefit from, has won!!

    The last 10 months has been, both, exciting and fun. It has gotten ugly at times, and I DO APOLOGIZE TO THOSE THAT I MAY HAVE OFFENDED. It seems that evolution hasn't caught up w/ that aspect of our animalistic nature, yet.

    Although the election of Obama has been historic in EVERY sense of the word, it will not cure the divisiveness that exists in America. ONLY healthy dialogue between the parties, between cultures, between financial classes, and between our races will free us from the obvious disconnect we all have between each other.

    Again.........HEALTHY DIALOGUE!!!!

    Now, time to gloat!!! I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!

    GOBAMA!!!

      You forgot to put Mr President in front of that!! America has moved on, ou are a thing of the past, brushed aside by the greatness of this nation. And as your kind become fewer and fewer, America become greater and greater. So scream out in your death bed as the power you once held over this nation leaves FOREVER. Thank you for showing us what not to do. We will always remember what you have done to this nation, and we will never go back towards the place where people like you tried to take us. America is on ots way to being the symbol for the rest of the world once more. I have never been prouder to call myself an American citizen. Why don't you wait and see what Obama is capable of if you havent been paying attention in the last 20 months. People like you in this debate forum are just bitter today but remember, one day when your medical bills are paid by the Obama admnistration and your children are better educaated thanks to Obama and after your brain surgery, you will realize whata great day it truly is.                     I not crying over the election, i really could care less. I'm not dependent on the government and i don't really pay taxes (loopholes set up by the Clinton Administration in 1998) and i'm not having money problems because i remebered my Econ 101. Maybe things wouldn't be so bad if the Democrats would have fought Bush harder. Hasn't Congress been controlled by the Democrats for two years now? You probably don't have an answer for that, do you?

    Dear Omaar -

    First, I don't plan on moving to another country. I plan on staying in the one that I adore and the one that 3 generations of my family have spent defending.


    Secondly, I'm aware that some of those on your list of countries are "socialist" ( I know my history). They believe that wealth should be evenly distributed and should not be shared among a small segment of society (capitalism). I did not vote for Obama and totally disagree with his views on many things - the most important is his "distribution of wealth". Where you got your argument that Republicans love Socialist countries is beyond me, but the Republicans are not the individuals who voted Obama into office.


    Next, I have a comment and then a question for you - I have been struck by one overwhelming thing today - everyone is talking about Obama's race. I thought we were suppose to be moving away from race? I thought we were suppose to become a country that is colorblind and looks at the candidate's qualifications, not his color? I believe this election shows the white electorate has accomplished this. If you look at who voted for Obama - there was a strong white vote (which is really the only way he could win), and to me - that is very telling. Obviously these white voters weren't voting "race". The only place you really saw racism in this election is in the overwhelming majority of the black vote for Obama. A fact that is also very telling. I agree racism in this country isn't dead and I think as of today we can safely start redefining it. If this same man, with the same qualifications, experience and associations had been white, do you think he would have won? I personally don't think so. I don't think the black electorate would have cared one way or the other. We will see.



    Dear vmjee-

    I don't know where to start with you other than to say, I have no resentment - it's more like caution to believe that the things he says will get done...actually will. I hope and pray that they will, but I believe that his bar is now set so high, that things will come crushing down around him. This election was to unite everyone, but unfortunately, I think it might accomplish just the opposite. Stay tuned - we shall see.

    While I did not vote for President elect Obama, I will treat him with far more respect and civility than the far left wing of the Democratic party has treated President Bush over the past 8 years. As a person who served in the military, I find this kind of hateful rhetoric referring to a US President of either political party appalling. I used to tell liberals that between President Bush and Saddam Hussein, President Bush is the one who is on your side. Just a reminder to my fellow conservatives, between Obama and Iranian leaders or Obama and Putin, President elect Obama is the good guy!!!

    I will support President elect Obama's policies where I believe he is right and oppose them where I think he is wrong, particularly with respect to taxes. If President elect Obama passes his proposed income tax increases, as a highly compensated employee of a large consulting firm, I will have less financial incentive to be more productive and work longer hours so I will likely work fewer hours. This is especially true if the Democrats succeed in repealing the cap on social security taxes because it becomes more expensive to hire workers.

    For those who hold even a modicum of respect for the Bush Administration read Bob Woodward's book, The War Within"...and this is a book done with Bush and others in the White House so its not without their permission. But it also tells you how much of a bubble they lived in....a world where Rumsfeld's memos on the war were called "snowflakes"...reading this is so scary that people so incompetent could be running this country...but elfillp and his ilk on this forum...hug your resentment close ...it is your type that would drive this country into the ditch rather than listen to reason...you should understand the pure meanness that you all send out into the world defeated you and it will again and again.

    I am appalled by the over-joyous citizens of this country that think a man, with little knowledge and experience, like Obama can do anything that will change our country. As I heard on the radio this morning, the USA will soon be changed to the USO because he "WANTS CHANGE and WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN". Just think, the United States of Obama?!?!?!
    I call BS on all of it. Everything that we have worked for will be flushed away. I am disappointed to know that our children will have to deal with this country far longer than we will, and they will have to deal with the horrible changes that he makes for our country.
    I remember Obama slipping up and saying that ???I???ve now been in 57 states. One left to go???..??? Are you kidding me? How many more states is he going to add to the US???? Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia??????.
    And the change I am afraid of??????A completely Democratically run Nation.
    The one thing that no one has brought up???..analysts say that any governmental change made takes anywhere from 4 to 8 years to start having any sort of affect on our country???.so the Clinton administration should be getting the blame for the sorry state that our country is in???.and he was a Democrat too!

    Obama as President - a sad day for the world, this is said with no hatred or animosity for the president elect nor is there the slightest tint of racism in contrast. Obama as president of the United States tells me two things, that one does not have to know anything much to become president & secondly, that once you are ''likeable'' automatically you become electable. The Americans have once again demonstrated on the borders of insanity, that they have no fear to discard the virtues of experience that gives irreplacable value to political wisdom & intellect & service to country over their thirst for CHANGE. Let me remind the world what Socrates said '' if the winds of change blows hard enough, the most trivial of things could become deadly projectiles.''       McCain had a great chance, especially if he had chosen a more "seasoned" VP-candidate. He lost respect from non-Republicans in how he ran his campaign. He just blew it. New cards are dealt and as a nation we move on to make things better.

    I think it's time for another Civil War!!! At least the Confederate States (except Fla.) still hold true to their family values, which is what this country was founded on and fought for.         Funny stuff, I have to admit. I think I'll go build my bomb shelter now and live in fear beacause that is obviously the solution. The substance (or lack thereof) in the half breed comment is a nice touch.

        Glad to hear we still have people we can all laugh at together. Reminds me of the episode of South Park where everyone literally buried their heads in the sand so terrorists would not attack.

          Since he is not your leader, maybe you should move out of the country. You can't continue with this issue for too long. You can change with times or stay put.
