They all fail. We as Americans need to push for election reforms. Cap the total dollars allowed to be spent on campaigns. We should also investigate the Associated Press' -- including their hiring process and the AP's other major flaws.

I scanned the news stations and CNN kept me most interested because 1) the new interactive technology was impressive and entertaining, 2) the viewpoints from the the liberal and conservative pundits on the panel were refreshing and 3) it looked great in high definition! MSNBC, Fox and the network's offerings looked like last century.

If the fairness doctrine is imposed on talk radio is it also aplicable to these programs? I would think so as the bias leans so far in one direction it is unbelievable.

Maybe America's perspective will change when Obama swears in with his hand on the Koran and wont say the Pledge? No, it wont, because America has a short memory. It has already forgotten that it was terrorists, not an organized army, that took down the Trade Center Towers. It has already forgotten that we went into Afghanistan and Iraq because the terrorists were hiding out there, not because of WMD (WMD was a convenient cover for going after a rag-tag mob of terrorists). The only reason we havent gone into Pakistan to get bin ladin et al is because Pakistan has nukes and we want to keep our ally.

are you really that stupid! you do know that he is NOT a Muslim but he is a Christian. and you do know that Al Quida was NOT in Iran until after we went there. Wow. I would hope that only the ignorant would be people who don't have access to the truth, but you have the whole internet. You have the ability to seek out the truth and yet you choose to only read what you want to be your truth. Open up you mind and maybe your heart will open up to and you won't be so ingnorant.

What about his aunt who is in this country illegally? How about spending $1 Billion (yes, a billion) on campaigning. Is that demonstrating fiscal responsibility? Thats called BUYING/FIXING the election. Not only was the media calling states with 0% in, but they were calling E coast states when the polls were still open in the whole midwest and west. As if voters in western states arent influenced by misrepresented results reported in E coast states. There needs to be a ban on reporting results prior to actual ballot counting and reporting. The Obama campaign and the media together have succeeded in defrauding the American people. Shame on Americans for being duped by flowery speeches with no substance. BTW - black, white,purple...I dont care what your skin color is. What matters is your integrity and values. Shame on Jessie Jackson and those saying "we can now put the Civil War behind us". America put the civil war behind them 150 years ago. The fact that they said that just means that they themselves are the harbingers.

Many whites in the south--and no doubt the North--have not put the Civil war behind them. You only need to ride through some enclaves and see the Confederate flags and Dixie caps displayed on cars and in front yards. I think everyone is entitled to hold onto parts of their culture as they see fit--but too many people think all blacks are bad/stupid/evil--because of the acts of a few.

This is true. The only qustion I have is why do many blacks riot after hearing news that doesn't favor them? I haven't seen too many other groups in this country do the same. Hopefully, this will all stop on both sides over the next four years. That would truly be a time happiness in this country.

Tyli - Thank you for showing that there is great intelligence among the younger (college) generation, able to see through the hype.

They all fail. The only network even close to real information versus editorial and disrespectful comments is FOX. I am sorry to say that according to the other two news organizations they were so into themselves during this cycle they forgot what journalism really is. The Hardball nut tells off color jokes and they all feed on it. amazing examples of professionalism.

Oh, pardon me. $640 M Obama to $360 M McCain. Again, who bought the media and election?

    • Posted By: JWelhaus @ 11/05/2008 2:50:31 PM

Actually, Sen. Obama spent four times more money than Sen. McCain. that truly is a travesty.

    • Posted By: MeNYou @ 11/05/2008 2:29:52 PM

...and here I thought you Compassionate Conservatives believed in the free market? How's that $10 TRILLION federal deficit, record trade deficit, record unemployemnt, record mortgage foreclosure, record federal budget thigh coming along anyway...?

  • Posted By: mrghanta @ 11/05/2008 2:50:08 PM

CNN and MSNBC were so obviously pro Obama, they literally campaigned for him free on the networks. Obama is very lucky and survived several obstacles, these networks simply brushed them off and heavily defended Obama. It is nothing oyher than blatant bias and unfair unprofessional reporting and journalism.
Hopefully Obama will do good for our great copuntry's sake. God bless America.

I really don't know why anyone West of the Mississippi votes. the election was called before our polls were even closed. I know everyone is in a hurry to find out the winner, but it would be nice to actually think our votes count.

  • Posted By: dinnerforiraq @ 11/05/2008 2:48:47 PM

    Mmmmmm. koolaid.......what the &^#$???? It's camel pee.

What I would like to know is how the new President Elect is going to try to breach the gulf between the two parties? When you have that many Red States, you need to address the fact that most of the center of the Country did not want you as President. Does he care or is it like always that the small, rural states are patted on the head and considered the "poor, mentally changled people who need big population states to tell them what to do with their state"?

  • Posted By: bmoffatt011 @ 11/05/2008 2:26:25 PM

    MMMMMMM Kool-aid...Tastes like victory.

    • Posted By: JWelhaus @ 11/05/2008 2:46:34 PM

Hopefully not the bitter taste of victory.

It's amazing how many people speak before really knowing the facts. CNN gives you the facts so we have watched their coverage throughout the entire election process! Great job CNN!!!

To the media: Your job is to REPORT the news, Not MAKE the news. You have become bloated with power, technology and competition. You have a duty to fairly report BOTH sides of all news -- that means 50/50. Your unsolicited opinions before, during and after reporting your biased news reports have reduced free speech, evaluation of facts, and credibility of the media so badly, its doubtful if you started to act as professional journalists TODAY, it would still take you a decade to recover your credibility.

Hello. My name is JWelhaus. I spend my whole day reading other people's thoughts because I have no original ones of my own. I get very upset when someone whose patriotism I do not share makes a typo. The End.

Relax. It was only a joke. It was just ironic that you wrote about IQ and made your own mistake in the same statement. If you do not want to be criticized, then don't make any comments in that regard.
