Not the worst, per se. The sleaziest in a good long while though. Not a touch of class until his concession speech.
I'm not sure what is meant by the quote from the Constitution...is someone still trying that baloney about Obama not being a citizen? McCain was born in Panama. Come on. Give it up. You're swinging at empty air.

As a citizen of USA I personally pray that God gives wisdom and disernment to our new President Barak Obama. I also pray for this nation and everyone in it that as citizens we all turn from back bitting and hate and inmorality that plages our nation. I pray that we turn back to GOD our Lord and Savior and put Him first in our lives. I believe that if we do this that God will protect us and Bless as a nation.

I really liked the sign that read "Bush Your Fired" however, McCain did it to himself. With all outright lies and misleading comments I could not believe how disrespectful the Republican party has become.

The Republican party may have delt themselves the "death blow" they may never recover from.

    • Posted By: Mudcat007 @ 11/05/2008 5:04:00 PM

Approximately a 4% differential in popular vote? I don't see this as a death blow. Definitely a wake up call, but not a death blow.

  • Posted By: Lorax18 @ 11/05/2008 4:50:53 PM

How can people blame the Republicans for the financial crisis?? It is not the republicans fault for this - it is the banks who created loans which set people up to fail by giving the 100% loan with a lower interest rate for a few years or interest only loans for a few years then expect homeowners to refinance with their house worth less than they purchased it for. I was raised to live within my means not buy something I knew I could not afford. Society has created the financial crisis as well as the banks not the Republican Party. To blame President Bush is ludicrous and it is too bad John McCain was also blamed simply because he is a republican.
The campaigns of both candidates made me sick. They were so negative, where did the campaigning of the past go where each candidate told what they would do not smash their opponent? That is what I want to hear what are you going to do not what your opponent can't do or what your opponent's record is. While those things may be important, it is more important to make a name for yourself not slander someone else's name.

    • Posted By: karma623 @ 11/05/2008 4:58:19 PM

Um, yea, do your homework. "Campaigns of the past" were rought with calling one another's mother "whore" and most recently (as in Bush) calling an opponent's Indian born adopted daughter his "illigitimate black baby". Get your facts straight.

      • Posted By: karma623 @ 11/05/2008 5:03:31 PM

By the way, the only "negativity" the Obama campaign displayed were facts brought to the table in defense of the lies spewed/exaggerated by the other side. Let's not throw out the baby with the bath water when trying to make a point.

  • Posted By: michael.mack @ 11/05/2008 12:28:30 PM

The reason he lost was not because of the black vote, most of the WHITE PEOPLE who voted for Bush before saw right through John Mc Cain's bullsh*t and he was not going to do a damn thing but stay staus quo, so they got tired of everything and wanted change from someone who will really do something. 70% of WHITE america lost money in the stock market and 401K's because of Bush not Obama, when Clinton was in office gas was 1.67 per gallon, Bush 4.00 per gallon do the math.

    • Posted By: cmsuwec04@hotmail.com @ 11/05/2008 12:31:15 PM

I just paid $1.98 for gas. When adjusting for inflation, this is cheaper than when Clinton was in office. Will you now proclaim Bush the greatest ever?? Point is that the Pres in usually not directly responsible for anything - including the economy and gas prices. Nice try though.

      • Posted By: SavethisCountry @ 11/05/2008 12:40:48 PM

Did you calculate in the fact that you have $2000 less in your pocket because of Bush.

        • Posted By: cmsuwec04@hotmail.com @ 11/05/2008 12:49:07 PM

LOL - you just reinforced my point. If I did infact have $2000 less in my pocket - please explain to me how this would directly result from something George Bush did. It's funny how the libs put direct blame on Bush for EVERYTHING bad that happens, but don't know who to give credit to for good things that happen (lower gas prices). Who has controlled congress for the last 2 years when s***t has really hit the fan?? Not the GOP my friend. Back to the drawing board.

          • Posted By: Really?08 @ 11/05/2008 5:03:30 PM

The low gas prices have nothing to do with Bush other than that the economy is in the toilet and even the gas prices could not hold up. Get a clue or is ignorance truly bliss.

Interesting point desertbutterfly; that is something I didn't hear too much about. Was Obama born on a US installation in Kenya or to parents who were at the time, US citizens? If neither or one or the other, then legally, he cannot be president without being a naturalized citizen.

    • Posted By: Dorian1955 @ 11/05/2008 5:01:02 PM

quorted from the Constitution of the United States:

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

Mr Baraka was born in Kenya where his father was a high government official in this country's violent and atrocious times. That's the legacy of his father besides coming from a wealthy family. His mother flew to Hawaii right after his birth and found someone to issue a birth certificate indicating his birth in America. Both his mother and sister attest to this fact and your president, who has been a Muslim and only joined a Christian church at his wife's behest, so he could run for office.

I'm the same age as Senator McCain and I have watched campaigns since the the early 50s. Mcain's effort can only be discribed by myself as the poorest designed and exicuted I have ever witnessed. I personally believe his lies and other associaded slanders bordered on being criminal. His shame here will always be his legacy. The seniors of Arizona could do much better than to continue backing this loser.

  • Posted By: Mudcat007 @ 11/05/2008 4:57:46 PM

McCain lost because the media was in the bag for Obama from the start and also because of the timing of the economic blow-up. There was nothing his campaign could do to overcome these two obstacles.

Thankfully God prevailed and the dangerous fundamentalist Palin was rejected!!!!

    • Posted By: landslideclothing @ 11/05/2008 4:56:33 PM

Sounds like Democrats to me. "Christians are evil... Gay people should have the freedom to desecrate the Christian tradition of Marriage.... If you don't vote for a Black man, even if he's not qualified, you are a racist...." Fundamentalist alright.
In life there are things that are ABSOLUTE right and wrong, take for instance, 2 + 2 = 4; what goes up, must come down. The aging process = death.
There are things that are true even if you deny them. You could deny the existence of oxygen, but you are still breathing it regardless. In that way, Christ walked this earth, and He is God, even if you don't believe it.
Democrats want everyone to be able to do anything they want even if it means break moral boundaries. This is Anarchy, and without rules, there is Chaos.
Conservatives want this Country to stay the way it was, because if it isn't broken, why try to fix it. Liberals want to go the way of Sodom and Gamorrah, where it would be a Godless society.
      Who did you choose again?

    • Posted By: landslideclothing @ 11/05/2008 4:46:50 PM

I'm wondering who your god is... is it Satan? because if it is? then you're right, your god Satan did prevail on deceiving the public and covering up the lies that were soiled on Obama. I just pray that God (Jesus Christ) comes before Obama introduces his "Change" named the Anti-Christ.

I feel so sad for a lot of people today regardless if Prop 8 Passes or Not.
I have lost faith in the Priest/Pastors of any church/religion.
I have no Religion or believe in the god you see. My god is nothing to the corruption your church???s have. I can't understand how the Church can sit there and tell people to vote Yes on 8. Corruption of the world is what they have done. So much money wasted to try to protect the faith. How can you protect something that has already been damaged / broken by millions and millions of you ???Straight People???! Divorces filed everyday good way to save tradition when so many choose to escape and file for a divorce so quickly. It is easier to run then to work on it. Good one hypocrite???s!
I nod my head in disappointment. Shame on you!
Fight they said take the rights away they said while dozens of families sit at mass listening to this and the preachers not realizing how many of them have been hurt by the words that were said. I thought god had his doors open for everyone? I guess not! I guess they believe that god only has its doors open for a few of us not carrying who gets hurt in between. My heart goes out to these families and I respect them for being strong.
Why couldn???t the church donate the money to the poor to the sick to the ones that need medicine or healthcare or even the homeless who can???t afford to eat or have warm clothes or a bed to sleep in? Is this the good lord???s work? Where were you when Millions of families needed you? Instead of you spending millions of dollars on a cause not fighting for and taking away happiness from millions you decided to prove a point?
Money WASTED! Million???s down the drain! Instead you used it to discriminate a certain group of people and show hate. I only speak what I sow from the supporter???s of Yes on Prop 8. In downtown L.A. after Sunday Mass a lot of you rallied and referred Gays to Pedophiles ???Child Molesters??? I heard Women/Men screaming to grab your children or else they will molest them??? MOLEST THEM! Way to show good ???tradition???. PEOPLE Talk about your worries of your children???s education. None of you have Morals. Way to go from a group of saints. HATERS! Also how dare you compare gays to HITLER! HITLER!! of all the people in the world . Thank you so much for calling gays Hitler & Pedophiles. Is this what the pasture/priest told you to call them after you walked out of Mass?
Only hatred and loss of power can make a kingdom show its weakness something you all have shown the world.
I forgive you all for you hatred and ignorance.
My God loves all Color/Race/Gender he has no preference we are all his creation.
Don???t preach his name with hatred/discrimination RESPECT HIM and don???t twist his LAWS.

While everybody was busy celebrating, do you realize the House rejected a bill for another stimulus package? CNN mentioned it for all of two seconds. They did this because they think we don't notice. We should all be super pissed. PLEASE write or email officials and tell them we need a stimulus check.
You can email Nancy Pelosi at http://speaker.house.gov/contact/
    Governor Janet Napolitano: http://www.governor.state.az.us/Contact.asp
    CA Congressman George Radanovich http://radanovich.house.gov/Contact/email.htm
    Hillary Clinton: http://www.hillaryclinton.com/help/contact/
By the way I wrote to John Shadegg (AZ) complaining about the bailout bill and I got an email from him "assuring" me it was the right thing to do.

McCain lost because the main stream media was inthe bag for Obama from the start and the timing of the financial crisis. It didn't matter what kind of campaign he ran.

  • Posted By: goldmine @ 11/05/2008 4:56:07 PM

There should be no problem for President-elect Obama to keep his campaign promises since he has the Democrat-controlled congress and senate on his side.

  • Posted By: The Rayman @ 11/05/2008 1:14:06 PM

Barak Huessein Obama is a mulatto.See the dictionary.BHO will start his political career with a lie and the news media will feed it to the public. This is meant as a slap in the face to white America.Obama's mother was white. So was grandma.Tiger Woods is a mulatto, having a oriental mom.(we love Tiger)

    • Posted By: NLite823 @ 11/05/2008 4:55:44 PM

Yes, Obama's is half white, but when you see him...what do you really see...a Black Man. He looks as Black as me and I'm not. The "One Drop Rule" is still followed in this country. But that's neither here nor there. He's our President whether he's Black, White, Blue, Green, Purple...so whatever to this Racial genetic determination thing, which is boring.

    • Posted By: Dragonj_h @ 11/05/2008 1:39:47 PM

To The Ray Man, Note :There are no Mullato Boxes When one has to disclose their race on an application. Sure being even 1% African America was good enough to be "Black" during times of inequality but some how isn't in current times (sounds a little poor sportsman like). Look for way to begin unifying the country instead of trying to discredit historic moments in your life.I guarantee your happyness if you spread positivity. J.H.

It is time to wake up, and come together as a "United States", the ignorance has to stop black white red yellow green, it doesn't matter what color you are, we all breathe eat and bleed just like everyone else. now is the time to come together. this isn't 50 years ago. we should have grown by now. but it isn't too late yet. we have a chance to prove to the world we are a great, kind and loving society. not long ago, other people in other countries looked up to us, but for the past 8 years they have been looking down. we need to restore theirs and our faith, back into this country.

    • Posted By: rapidron @ 11/05/2008 4:55:30 PM

RIGHT ON! It's time to prove that our country is great. The world is watching, eyes wide open. Why keep hating people?! There's work to be done!!

politicsgirl: You're kidding, right? #1. Instead of jumping at the chance to be in the limelight, when asked to be VP she should've thought long and hard about what she was getting into...you know, the enormity of it all. #2. Because she didn't do #1 (see above) she was in WAY over her head and either didn't or couldn't grasp the issues (see the debate?). #3. Because she didn't do #1 and #2 (see above) she looked like the opprtunistic fake she really is. And please don't give me the refreshing, maverick schtick. That kind of person in any walk of life is scary, but VP of the US?

    • Posted By: joe_mama @ 11/05/2008 4:53:08 PM

No disrespect lacey, but that's like saying a corporate CEO should not accept the "golden parachute" in his contract. It's not her fault they made such a catastrophic blunder...there's no way she could have said, "no". That they would place her in that position raised SERIOUS questions about McCain's judgment.

The economy a factor. That's a laugh. This is the same country that spends BILLIONS of dollars on pet food and Multi-Billions of dollars on sports and entertainment. What economic crisis are you talking about? I don't see any starving politians, athletes, entertainers, or dogs for that matter.
