    Hey Sarah Palin when you pack your bags and head back to Alaska, take George Bush and Mmateo with you and that way you guys can look out your back window and keep an eye on Russia and inform us when you think that they are about to strike.

    Wow, this article is a teensy bit slanted. Palin was a great pick by McCain, one of the few decisions I agree with his campaign. She brought in new life at a time when he was sagging in the polls, it showed he was his own candidate and not a Bush clone (remember that Bush needed an older more experienced VP with Cheney while McCain was looking to fill the role of VP with exactly what the role is meant for), it also helped strengthen his ties to conservatives (though other decisions he made weakened it). Sure people's opinion of her dropped, anyone who had to take the kind of media barrage she did would show a similar drop in popularity.

    Look at the hatchet job the media began to work on an ordinary citizen, Joe "the plumber" - so many resources to destroy someone who simply asked a question and got an answer from Barack that proved to be the wrong thing to say. What's it going to be like for all of us once he changes from candidate to President?

    McCain made mistakes during the campaign but it is fairly clear that he had the deck stacked against him with the mainstream media. How many gaffes, mistakes, poor decisions, past associations, etc of Obama's that were hilighted by the media? You remember any past a passing mention or in the context about how racist and unfair the questions were? The media overall were clearly looking to elect Obama, that's a major handicap to overcome.

    Let's also be clear that Obama had to paint himself as a centrist in order to get as many votes as he did, many don't even know his true views on a great deal of important subjects. His speeches were a lot of insubstantial air, the imagination of many of his voters filled that empty suit with what they wanted to hear. When he begins veering back to the far left where he's comfortable and we see the real Obama, I don't think it's going to take the catastrophe that Biden promised us in order for his favorability to drop like a stone.

      Unfortunately, the pick for Palin was NOT McCain's choice. It was at that point that McCain handed his campaign to the devil (Republican Party) and many educated people who researched the campaign knew that.

    For those of you that want to critique my spelling, you can blame it on brain surgery a year ago, I have trouble with that but I do know what morals are and you wanting to pick on how I spelled things just make me realize how correct I am. You couldn't defend your beliefs so you worried and picked on my spelling. And to those of you that want to slam Sarah, get your facts straight. I guess I should just keep my thought to myself, because everyone wants to downgrade anyone with morals these days, I hope and pray this country comes back. If we don't have morals nothing else matters. So post your ignorant comments I'm going to worry about teaching my children what is right and wrong.

        Palin has morals, NOT. She helped bid rig a natural gas/oil pipeline in Alaska. She committed numerous ethical and legal violations getting her ex-brother-in-law's superior fired. She illegally billed the citizens of Alaska for her children's flights and hotel stays. Yup she is a good Republican and as corrupt as 90% of the Republican's are

    in spite of all those the Catholic church have slaughtered over the years, not to mention the millions is has sent to hell for believing that they are the true church, all the time allowing basic Christ centered Christianity to take the blame and suffer for the sins they have committed, still, at any given time that old fart they praise and glorify can walk out onto that balconey, wave his hands and people literally faith from devotion, admiration, and allegiance to him and his church. I think of that horrible story of those who followed jim jones to gyana when had proven over and over and over that he was nothing but a lunatic while here in the states. And yet almost 1000 people still followed that pied piper to his dream and their reward was a cup of kool aid laced with cyanide. Those who refused to drink it were shot. And yet he is not the only one like that who mesmerized so many people as they agreed to do whatever he told them to and you can laugh, you can say "oh Warren that is so stupid", but if Barack Hussein Obama got up before his followers and said, "the threat to this country is nothing less than the conservatives, those who profess to be Christians and are not because they have proven they are not when they voted against me, and when they voted against me they voted against you. AS YOUR LEADER I, BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA WILL GIVE YOU THE THINGS YOU NEED AND WANT IN LIFE, I WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU. WE WILL NOT (and he will emphasize that) WE WILL NOT ALLOW THESE PEOPLE TELL US WE CANNOT ABORT, THAT 2 PEOPLE WHO LOVE ONE ANOTHER CANNOT MARRY, EVEN IF THEY ARE OF THE SAME SEX". And at the end of this speech, the drones that will follow Obama will seek to destroy in whatever way they can those who call themselves conservatives and or Republicans. Barack Hussein Obama has the ability to do just this, there is no doubt in my mind.

    What the hell is all of this "Christians Rock" and "Christians make up the overwhelming majority in this country, so therefore we are the voice of all" bullshit? I am so sick and tired of hearing from Christians how everyone else is supposed to live their lives. Get it through your bible-thumping, brainwashed minds . . .

    Believe what you want . . . but don't try and make me live YOUR discrimination. The passing of PROP 8 was a total violation of human rights and you Christians and your backing by the Mormom Church is heinous ignorance. For a religion which was formed not but 200 years ago, and practiced Polygomy . . . how are they a viable source of what is "morally" correct in a family setting!?!?
    All of that aside . . . a homosexual's life has nothing to do with yours. You still get to believe what you want, you still get to practice what you want, you still can even continue to teach your own children how to discriminate and teach them that homosexuality is wrong . . . but the bottom line is, that it is NOT your place to tell me what to teach my future children, and whom it is OK for ME to marry. It's none of your "goddamn" business! Stay the hell out of everyone else's life, and focus on your own. Passing PROP 8 will not get rid of homosexuals . . . I think in your holy-rolling minds, that you think this Proposition will extinguish gays . . . but you know what? It WON'T. This struggle isn't over, and it won't be over until you hate-loving Christians take off your blinders, and educate yourselves. Stop using your "interpreted" word of God (which is all it is) to perpetuate this pointless "hegemonic" dominance over a group of people who could care less about your beliefs . . . we don't tell you that you cannot be a Christian, so do NOT tell us we cannot have the same rights that you have!
    Thank God (yes, because my God is not intolerant . . . but just, and tolerant, and loving of every damn person on this earth) for Newsweek's stance. Republican Christians have done enough damage to last a lifetime. Long live Obama, the first Black President, burdened with the past 8 years of the Bush Administration . . . but full of gumption and the clear-sightedness to get us out of this mess!

    Sad to say but this USA is on its way down unless we return to God. If you recall, we've had succession of US presidents from bill clinton (smoke dope but did not inhale?); GWB, (DUI in 1974?) and now a self proclaimed druggist and experimented with drugs in his youth and yet all of them became US presidents? What a pity. That is what I meant when I said, this generation X has NO VALUES. They are the ones who loudly proclaims that they have no values. Not all but most. No one else has any more solid fortitude in america? All we've had are draft dodgers, drunks and drug users all sat in the oval office?. No wonder our country is in turmoil both economically and everything else. What a freaking shame?

      Hey what you see. Ya really think this has to do with God? Which one should we pray to , Yours?
      It's not that Gen X has no values, they just value things that matter a little more than going to church with a hangover from the night before on sunday morning. There are things called issues, and religion separates people unlike spirituality, and should not be a part of the government. Hell we shouldn't even know what religion our president elect is, let alone getting propaganda pics showing them coming out of church after a sunday service!!
      There's a reason we don't mix religion with polatics, that's because we have the freedom to believe what we want to believe. And that's a freedom that could get you killed in other countries.
      Obama may have fooled with drugs when he was in his teens or early adulthood, but that don't mean he's doing it now, or even at all during his political career. And you may have been a perfect child when growing up(wich I doubt), but the majority of Americans have at least experamented in their youth, rather it be illegal drugs , or alchohol, tobbacco, or caffine, their all behavior modifying drugs.
      And seens how you are the one who mentioned his experamentation, I don't mind saying that he's probably more in touch with the majority than any candidate that I've witnessed so far.
      I'll leave it alone after one more rant.......... Leave the powers to be out of the government, because everybody thinks that their lifestyle and their God, is the right way to be. I say when it comes to Gen. X we decided to each their own, and we settle for Genuine " goodness" in people.

    I noticed the comments of the blacks on this thread. They think it's pay back time. How ignorant can you get. It just goes to show who the racists are. They will vote for a black person just because they are black. They don't care about the good of the country, just as long as they get their welfare checks. Unfortunately it will probably be more of that kind of ignorance with what's his name for the next 4 years and then working people will have to clean up more of the mess black have made in the USA.

        I have seen no real proof of respect from the world. I have seen a lot of people in other countries thrilled with the election - but that can come from many reasons. Let's not bury our heads in the sand and never see the wave that takes us out to sea... Time will tell if we truly have respect .

    After reading so many of the comments on this thread I am utterly shocked and disgusted that the American people seem to be determined to tear this country to shreds. Most, but not all, (there were some thoughtful comments), on this thread are detrimental and demeaning to America and our way of life. We have a process, a new President has been elected. Regardless of who you voted for, It is time to remember that. We need to support Mr. Obama now, that is our duty as Americans. "In God We Trust" may be on the money, but the original Motto of The UNITED STATES was "E PLURIBUS UNUM" - Out of Many, One - I believe that is what we need to remember now and how we should behave.

    I am so excited for our nation! History has been and will continue to be made! NOTHING can be worse than what we have right now!!!!!!!! Without Obama being elected we wouldn't be able to keep our jobs or get a new house loan! CHANGE is what we need! Yes, McCain was a POW but that isn't reason enough to elect him. They either don't know enough about the the candidates so they just guess as they vote or they vote for the candidate that promises them things like money, prosperity, and loans!
