Our esteemed writer left out one key factor- THE MEDIA is not reporting equally!!- where in recent life has a man just spouted off we need a civilian army, funded and as strong as the military-Ask how Obama got his house or if Rev Wright was an anti-semite- this is an affirmative action candidate.. How can he have all this money when everyone is broke?? where did it come from and lastly-Why would he a Harvard Graduate say Iran is just a small country? His buddy Bill Ayers wished 9-11 has been more severe- Why shut down the coal industry in this economy-Jesse Jackson just said the zionist will not have as much power when Obama is in.

Michelle Obama called Amercia a mean country??? don???t you see the anger in her face-

If you want to see hypocrites look at how Obama they live in their million dollars house and how the people of IL are struggling- no one will talk about this guy- his papers, his law clients, his state voting record- He also said he wanted an Afircan American to take his Senate seat
Shouldn't we want the best candidate , chinese, black , brown purple-??

I have never seen someone say so much with out saying anything--Look at how he lives
and then you might better understand. The economy tanked case closed-
Now socialist are being quoted and Mark Levin has a tape whereby Obama states we are living with some Nazi doctrines here..

    It does not add up

One person is going to decide that we become socialists with suppresses freedom. Europe is getting away from socialism as it is a slow moving system and why in the world woud we want
government deciding on how we live-this is the last thing you should want

If you want to be a socialist, live like one- DO you know Castro and his brother live in palaces, have 300 cars and the people starve.

By the way Karl Marx did not even have a job, he was lazy, no work ethic and lived off of someone else- sounds like a politician to me. In America you help everyone when you yourself do well- it spreads automatically better than any government could do- freedom is contagious.

To those who believe Oama is the ONE, please write down the ten things you expect to get from Mr. Obama.

Put that paper aside, dig it out in four years and if he has done it, re-elect him. If not, don't.

If he raises your taxes, he broke his promise. If we are still in Iraq, he broke his promise.

If you are honest, you will not vote for him if he merely used you to get the keys to the kingdom.

    • Posted By: chase127 @ 11/05/2008 1:11:08 PM

did you write down anything four years ago? What did you write down and did it happen for you? No, but you still voted for the republican that voted with your president 90% of the time. Practise what you preach or just be another republican, but in the mean time sit down and shut up until you come with something intelligent!

      • Posted By: goindy @ 11/05/2008 1:37:29 PM

Seriously? "Just be another republican"? Nothing like generalizing a whole group, huh?

If you actually believe McCain and Bush are the same person, even close, you have been brain washed by a very effected Obama campaign. This person's point was to hold this new president(and politicians in general) to the campaign promises they make. A good number of people honestly feel Obama cannot live up to the lofty goals he set for himself, they do not need you chastising them for it.

Grow up and abandon your partisan ways.

I expect he will restore our credibility in the world
I expect he will make decisions thoroughly
I expect he will try to consider all sides of any issue
I expect he will be able to lead wihout excluding half the country
I expect he will be capable of improving the economic life of majority
I expect he will have a bi-partisan cabinet.

I believe that the media was the determining factor in John McCain's defeat. Their portrayal of him in an always negative light along with playing the race card, eveyrone was afraid of what would happen if Barack HUSSEIN Obama didn't win. That is a ludicrous method of electing a president! Sarah Palin had more experience in her little finger than Barack HUSSEIN Obama does... period. The media also blasted her as well. The McCain team couldn't win because of the negativism created by the media and hollywood!

    • Posted By: samson0473 @ 11/05/2008 3:38:49 PM

Karobeooo7, enough with the Hussein crap already, that was not his choice of name. He had a mom and dad to name him, not a Hospital for Fetal alchohol, and crack babies. I'm sure you have a much better name that is warm and fuzzy like your brain. And how much have you accomplished with such a fine family name that you must have?

The long campaign is actually a job interview. McCain ran a sloppy campaign that cracked under pressure. Do you want that kind of failure in the White House?

Now we should be all right as long as Obama runs the country even half as well as he managed his campaign.

I think that people don't like Palin just because she's a woman!
Though I am glad that Obama won. Obama's daughters are so adorable. And they looked so happy when their father won.
I do think that the media was biased against McCain/Palin.

    • Posted By: heyjamieboy @ 11/05/2008 3:36:03 PM

I think you are way off base about Sarah...she is well liked and maybe does lack some experience but she does have more then Obama..and he is now president of our country...Pray for us...why not let the people know of his ties with racial and terroriest. I hope we will not be sorry for this choice...I voted for McCain...he is a true American and would have protected our country..God help us

    • Posted By: leepdx @ 11/05/2008 12:54:24 PM

I will always vote for intelligence over experience. Maybe if she understood the constitution at all I'd give her some slack but she is terribly ignorant.

      • Posted By: kshortSD @ 11/05/2008 1:08:38 PM

She is ignorant, and that is inexcusable for a woman in her position. For God's sake, read something, woman! One of the things I admire most about Obama is his intellectual curiousity, a thing that should NOT be taken lightly. We've seen how a lack of this quality in a leader hurts our nation.

        • Posted By: 4carol @ 11/05/2008 3:34:36 PM

  • Posted By: wbonora @ 11/05/2008 3:17:56 PM

The other problem with the REpublicans today is their insane ties to the CHnriostian right, and I think hopefully, Obama's election will bring an end, or at the very least, drastically reduce their influences. They are not people to take lightly and as such should be kept out of our public life. Had McCain not caved into far Christian right, and perhaps picked a moderate like Giuliani, this could have been a much tighter race. It's time for the evangelists to go back to the caves from where they came. And its time for the Republicans to give their moderate voice a larger stage. WB

So much for God Bless America. In a country that is suppose to be tolerant and cries for the rights of all, only Christians are not allowed to express their beliefs. Where are our equal rights? By the way do you know what Christians beleive? Try reading the book of John.

  • Posted By: qwicwted @ 11/05/2008 3:33:06 PM

I don't think the choice of Palin as a VP was a mistake, if anything I think she energized the base and brought in more voters that were disenchanted with McCain as the top of the ticket. I know for my spouse and myself - we weren't pleased with any of the choices offered and it wasn't until we heard Palin that we decided to vote for McCain - so that was a pickup of two votes. Funny thing is - we are registered democrates and just couldn't bring ourselves to vote the far left of the party.

  • Posted By: DixieDawg @ 11/05/2008 10:44:50 AM

FINALLY, the mud-slinging, hate-mongering garbage truck that was the McCain/Palin campaign has come to a screeching halt. Now, the moron that has been destroying this country for the past 8 years must be locked in a room so he cannot inflict any more damage to this country before he slithers out of office on January 20 2009.
Let us give PRESIDENT Obama an opportunity to clean up the mess left behind.
Let the healing and recovery begin...

    • Posted By: archmsu @ 11/05/2008 10:57:01 AM

Your talking about the Obama campaign, right? When i think of hate-filled people....I think of liberals, you know the types "I hate Americ." But i'll give this new socialist moron a chance, heck, i even give his militant ugly wife the benefit of the doubt. But what i can't belive, is all you suckers who actually believe in the federal governement, screw them.
PS government hand-puts still equals government cheese

      • Posted By: gigglinggirl @ 11/05/2008 3:32:48 PM

Hey archmsu - Have you heard of a dictionary? It's this great book with words in it, where you can look up word definitions. You should try looking up "socialism". We're not anywhere near socialism. (In fact, yesterday I heard the head of the American Socialist Party, and he was angry that people were calling Obama a socialist, since as he eloquently argued, Obama isn't anything like a socialist). ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!! Try looking up words before you use them. Oh wait...you just hear McCain/Palin say it, so you figured it was right, without bothering to see if THEY knew what they were talking about. Oh well. Not surprising, I guess.

      • Posted By: MTR1973 @ 11/05/2008 11:07:51 AM

        Oh, ArchMSU. You lost.

        • Posted By: lefsaboy @ 11/05/2008 2:11:13 PM

no, america lost. Get ready for the great american socialist experiment and remember, when electricity rates quadruple and taxes double and terrorists are hitting us with impunity because we have been so weakened, you voted for barak, not me.

          • Posted By: gigglinggirl @ 11/05/2008 3:29:42 PM

Hey lefsaboy - I know facts interfere with your rant, but if we were socialist, the government would TAKE OVER THE BANKS and redistribute the wealth to the workers! Oh wait....isn't that what the BUSH administration just did! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!! Seriously, the banks haven't been taken over, and no one's wealth has been confiscated. Even if he was a total Big "G" government liberal, even Obama couldn't be called a socialist by anyone who's actually looked the word up in the dictionary. Oh wait...you guys think being educated is "elitist", so you're probably against the dictionary. Sorry...I forgot that for a minute.

    • Posted By: politicianslie @ 11/05/2008 11:43:36 AM

Really? All the hate and mudslinging is over? Tell me this, how many years did Obama sit at church and listen to his preacher spew on and on about hating whites? That was McCain's biggest mistake- not bringing that up. Sure, Obama distanced himself from his church AFTER it came out that the preacher was a white hater.. but don't tell me that he isn't even a little bit racist after listening to that drivel for YEARS!

      • Posted By: tjohn017 @ 11/05/2008 12:31:00 PM

I have heard preachers speak ignorant things before, but I can think for myself, as I am sure a Harvard professor can do. Not all of us get educations from religious facists.

  • Posted By: mmateo @ 11/05/2008 3:12:16 PM

I dont root for McCain i just root for a president that is qualified to be president under our constitution which Obama is not. Kenya born Hawaii registered but not live birth registered big difference. Obama refuses to pledge his allegence to our flag and disrespects all members of the armed forces dead or alive by not placing his hand over his heart during the national anthem. How childish is that

    • Posted By: KarenAmerican @ 11/05/2008 3:32:31 PM

You have a lot of nerve calling anyone childish. What about your comment that all "white" people have go now report to cotton fields because Obama is now in office? Yeah, that's really mature and intelligent. Do us all a favor, either grow up and start speaking intelligently or go away. No one wants to listen to your rediculous rantings.

  • Posted By: lumpy1 @ 11/05/2008 12:58:28 PM

I'm really sorry to see Newsweek prepeptuating the rumor that someone yelled "kill him" at a Palin rally. This has proven to be untrue, it was made up by a reporter at the event. It's lies like this that will make it hard for the country to move forward. The best thing conservatives can do is to learn from our mistakes and retake the house and senate in two years. Hopefully, then none of the misguided plans Obama has will be able to be passed.

    • Posted By: jus2fas @ 11/05/2008 2:28:48 PM

It certainly was not a rumor. Someone did yell "kill him" as Palin was giving her speach. That footage has been played over and over. There was a photojournalist and others who heard that dispicable comment at the time it was made. It is sad when some Americans would rather hear a lie than to embrace the truth!

      • Posted By: DWPitts @ 11/05/2008 3:29:50 PM

Besides, I must have heard 20 different people say this fall: "If the coon wins, the KKK is going to assasinate him." I also heard several people say: "The White House is no place for *** or women. I don't know who I'm goinna vote for". In spite of so many claims that it's a thing of the past, it's still alive and kicking.

Does it even matter what was or wasn't heard on a video tape (even though I heard it with my own ears), when people out and about at large were expressing the very sentiment? Some on this board today have done it in a more roundabout way by talking about assasination in general. It doesn't fool anybody, we know exactly what you're saying.

In spite of that, noise, I'm so proud of the state of my birth today. It doesn't matter which one, now does it? Many states shook off the dark past last night and stood up. I'm proud of all of them, and quite irrespective of whether Mr.Obama succeeds or fails. Which I hope with everything I have, he succeeds. I would have extended the same hope for Mr. McCain today if he had won. This is no longer a game. We ARE in trouble now. Wishing for failure is both stupid and wrong.

    • Posted By: kshortSD @ 11/05/2008 1:06:28 PM

It wasn't made up. You can hear it on the video.

The ignorance exhibited in some of these postings are hurtful not only to us as individuals, but to the country you so profess to love. If you really love this great country of ours, you would put this election behind you and get on with the business of doing everything you can to help unite us. Barack is no more a muslim than John M is part of the KKK. (YOU would probably like it if he was!) Neither man is perfect, and either way we all would have had to hunker down and help to put this country back to rights. Geez, with your hateful and spiteful blather, maybe YOU should move out and let the rest us who are willing to work together, get on with it.
