The media bias and the fact that too many are worried about what would happen if the black guy ( oh, I forget, he is only 1/2 black) didn't win. Oh my, we wouldn't want to step on any black peoples toes now would we? This has now become the United States of the offended ( as well as the entitled).

TO: AN AMERICAN NIGHTMARE - Well said. Congratulations..... Nothing could be closer to the truth than what you said. Besides, they all can relate to the fact that their new US President is also a dope head.....lol..... much like them and along came their suppliers, the people from south of the border or south america which is the largest producing dope countries per capita in the world. Now, what we need to investigate is where did obama get the $millions of dollars he had spend and his surplus? From Hezbollah, Medellin Cartels, Hamas, PLO, (Big AL) ALmadinejad? Putin? his cousin osama bin laden and alqueda?

Nice observation on where the dope comes from, but as we know the demand by users (you sound familiar to this) is what makes them rich. So who is the real idiot, the suppliers or the users. As for your blanket unfounded statements, whether you like it or not, the winners all donated to Obama because we were glad to 'give' our money to win, instead of seeing BUSH and his party suck out more.

      • Posted By: watuseeiswatuget @ 11/05/2008 1:54:37 PM

hey bubba, the suppliers are almost always smarter than the users. You know that, so stay in business.

"Welcome to America Sarah Palin", "NOW GO HOME"!

  • Posted By: Bigsky007 @ 11/05/2008 10:51:39 AM

McCain would probably have made a pretty good President. However, he needed to either overhaul or get that albatross, which is the GOP, from around his neck. He didn???t do this and thus showed that he is not the maverick he portrayed himself to be. His party, as it exists today, dripping divisiveness and permeated with assorted biases, hatred and a thuggish, dirty tricks, mentality, is not the party of Lincoln. Too many GOP members listen to the microphone thugs, who play 24/7 to their most base fears and biases. These MicThugs bank (BOA) on the naivete, gullibility and inability of their listeners to think for themselves. We???ll tell you what to think is the part of the daily diatribe of the thugs.

Sarah Palin, might have been a breath of fresh air; however, she, after the convention, immediately destroyed her maverick image, in deed if she ever had such, when she began using the same old divisive and thuggish, ???we and they??? and ???good Americans??? lines in her stump speeches. These lines are taken directly from the microphone thugs, who mainline this godless garbage into the brains of their listeners on a daily basis. This is not unlike the pushers, who provide their clients with daily fixes.

Approximately twenty-five years ago the Democrats placed a woman on its presidential ticket and twenty-five years ago apartheid South Africa changed its stark and evil features. Today, twenty-five years later, the GOP primary debates, conventions and rallies look like South Africa???s twenty-five years ago. What???s wrong with the GOP, this being the eighth year into the new century? Richard Nixon changed the GOP into an embarrassing anachronism, which can't be explained to our foreign friends or to ourselves, especially in view of the assorted strange bedfellows we see in that bed as opposed to those, who are not. As it exists today, it is the perfect recruiting tool for our enemies because the stark, anti-democratic, picture it presents doesn't reflect this country, its touted values or its tenets. For example, starting with Nixon, virtually all the third world thuggish political activities (dirty tricks) have had their origin in the GOP and its sympathizers. Lincoln would have nothing to do with today???s GOP. There is little within the GOP that an enlightened person would find inviting. The key here is: Enlightened.

The GOP is in critical need of a makeover. A first step would be to kick out all the thugs (or require that the thugs repent), which it has invited in over the years since Nixon. It needs to reexamine its understanding of economic matters. Why is it that the worse economic downturns have occurred under GOP administrations? The final question is: Is the GOP willing to undergo the necessary makeover in order to present to the world a picture that???s more reflective of the hallowed tenet: ???We the people???????

Here here gigglinggirl! If every single African American voted for Obama, it STILL wouldn't be enough to get him elected. Everyone needs to face it, other people voted for him too. For the rest of everyone who keeps picking apart Obama's campaign AFTER he has won, its obvious you have nothing else better to do. He is our president now. Either face it or move.

      • Posted By: politicianslie @ 11/05/2008 2:34:11 PM

Actually we are far from the bottom, but this will surely put us there. This man has no experience. Yes, a lot of people voted for him, but they were easily swayed by his smooth talking (another sign if the beginning of the end). I don't think that one person here can honestly tell me how Obama plans to change things around. (not WHAT he is going to do but HOW)

        • Posted By: klebrun @ 11/05/2008 2:58:57 PM

    • Posted By: kshortSD @ 11/05/2008 1:49:38 PM

Interesting. At the end of Bush's "presidency", we are stuck with two wars (one which NEVER should have been started), an economic crisis of epic proportions, and a decimated international reputation. How on earth do think a president who is the complete opposite of Bush will make things WORSE? I think we dodged a bullet by not electing McBush yesterday.

  • Posted By: texnewmex @ 11/05/2008 2:28:45 PM

As far as I am aware, Bush is not related to McCain. Additionally, contrary to Obama's lying advertising and statements, McCain didn't always vote with Bush or the party. What Obama fails to mention (of course), is that he voted the same way as McCain on many things that he was so eager to point fingers at McCain about during the campaign.

And by the way, Bush was only one man. For the past 2 years, the Democrats have controlled the Congress. So when you are looking at who to blame for the current economic situation, be honest with yourself and have enough intelligence to know who to really blame. The other voters for Obama were young, typically first time voters, who have had liberal educators teaching them from 1st grade through college and so by the time they can vote, they are like robots...no mind of their own. All they know how to do is regurgitate what their liberal teachers have told them to do. None of them has had to sacrifice one thing for the lifestyle or freedoms they enjoy in this country which is why they mindlessly voted for a radical, unexperienced guy who doesn't know the first thing about running a business much less about running an entire country. You won't have to wait long to see this great country of ours head towards socialism and go straight down the toilet. I hope all you Obama supporters are ready for that. Don't come crying to those of us who voted for the best man to run the country when ALL of the things Obama "promised" never, ever come to pass.

    • Posted By: byebyebushie @ 11/05/2008 2:57:59 PM

Just because McCain was a war hero, which obviously is deeply respected, doesnt qualify him to be president. His decision making skills were evident when he wanted to stop the election and the debate to "save" the stock market, and of course, his ever so qualified choice for VP. You are really going to blame democrats in the congress that was elected 2 years ago for an economic disaster caused mainly by deregulation that was 8 years in making? gimme a break.

  • Posted By: trent208 @ 11/05/2008 12:08:30 PM

I cried when John MC Cain lost. I 'am very concerned that Obama is not concerned with GOD. Americans that are aetheists wake up from greed ...its all about economy and realize GOD is more important than money. I will pray for Obama that he will be true to GOD in running this country but, if he shows complacency towards GOD than I will still have to pray but, will be very saddened. If life is truly precious than why has Obama voted for times to rip up 7 months old or any age for that matter and toss the remains away?? We need to ask ourselves is our love for money more important than our love for GOD!!!!

I am a christian and an evangelical one; it bothers me sometimes when some of those who call themselves christian evangelical are not thinking right or do not study the Word of God. they intend to hate those who do not agree with their beliefs. Obama is far more godly than most of those who said they are evangelical christian. They seem not to understand the Word of God. The Word of God said " I have given you life and death, do good and live, do evil and die. God has given everyone the freedom to choose between good and evil. is our choice. if you want to die then do evil, and if you want to live do the right thing. God will not judge us as a state, community, society or country, God can only judge everyone individually and not collectively. Pls study the Word and do not try to pose your beliefs on others when they disagree with you. Jeshua said to the people of Israel "choose whom this day who you will serve and as for me and my family we shall serve the Lord. Study the Word of God and understand; ask for his wisdom for you to understand the scripture. Abortion is not right somehow but at the same time it's right somehow depends on the condition like rape, or if the mother's health is at risk. there are reasons for everything. As a christian I strongly believe everything depends on individual's choices. God will only judge us based on our ignorance. Obama is more chirstlike than Mccain. In fact, I see Mccain as an atheist. Sorry you did not see that. If you call yourself a christian, and then demonizing other person you don't agree with. It seems you dont understand the true meaning of christianity. Once again study the Word of God carefully.

"We the People" should be ashamed of ourselves for letting an unproven, untested, man with only 3-4 years of US public service experience (where he voted 97% of the ime along party lines) to be elected over someone far more proven, tested and experienced who even sacrificed himself for the cause of this country. We let Obama buy the election on a 4-1 scale (despite prior promise to follow campaign spending rules) using more $$ smear ads alone than McCain's total spending.

    • Posted By: Brooklyn Gurl @ 11/05/2008 2:56:25 PM

WOW USAF-vet1 - It sounded like you were talking about George W Bush to me.

    • Posted By: kshortSD @ 11/05/2008 2:56:24 PM

It's silly that you accuse Obama of "buying the election". Hello? It's not like he was wealthy and used his own money. He used contributions from his passionate supporters. If not for the support of voters, he wouldn't have had the money to spend. What a ridiculous accusation...

    • Posted By: TJ21 @ 11/05/2008 2:55:54 PM

"Buy the election"? You realize we donated the money to him. And in terms of negative ads, Obama's negative ads dealt with policy differences and voting records and how they compared to Bush. McCain's negative ads basically said that Obama was a terrorist, socialist, communist, Arab, unAmerican. The problem is there are so many people out there that hear these words and repeat them. And eventually believe it. Now I don't think McCain is a bad guy by any means. I think he is a great guy, but his campaign message and some of his supporters have completely lost it. I like most of them because they can agree to disagree on things, but this other nonsense did nothing but try and seperate us

    • Posted By: Brooklyn Gurl @ 11/05/2008 2:55:37 PM

You the People should be ashamed for voting for George Bush as the President 4 years ago as well as 8 years ago. You saw the destruction that he threw us into the first 4 years and you allowed him to sock it to us again for the next 4 years. When I go to sleep at night my conscience is clear. How about yours?

And Cheney honorably shot his best friend while Cheney was stone drunk.
These are the kind of men I admire as a vet.
And they did nore damage to this country then A.Q. ever dreamed of.

But they were able to make it happen with the support of hard working AMERICANS from all political parties and points of veiw.

That is exactly what we need now. I am a willing Republican.... willing to give my support, keep and open mind, and give the man a chance. We have to have hope....what choice do we have?

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. But then again...we currently have a "military man" as President. He got us into an unnecessary war, ignored a necessary war, and has basically screwed our reputation around the world. But - he's a "military man", so I guess you'll give him - what? an A????????????????

You gotta remember Independant , that GWB would not sighn any of the democrats origional Bills because they wouldn't say in them " George W, Dic tator Bush " has full authority to do what the hell he wants.... That statement might be a little untrue, because if I remember correctly, Bush has done what ever he has wanted for the past 8 yrs, rather he had support from the people , congress, or any other country who didn't agree with him.
I think it is time for Obama, Not as a Black Man or a White Man, but as just a person who through the presidency, canmake a change for the better in this world.

Its amazing to me to see even after the two gracious speeches last night from both candidates to see the stupid statements and claims of reverse racisim. However, I do think there is stil alot of hope out there. I am a graduate from Harvard Law,I also have Masters Degress in Business and Public Administration from Columbia University so I am far from ignorant or a liberal. In fact I am a Republican Major in the Marines, who has served this country for the past for the last ten years and many of my colleagues who are also Republican also voted for Obama as he clearly is the best man for the job. I was a big McCain supporter but he lost my vote and many others when he picked the likes of Sarah Palin an uneducated hockey-mom who barely graduated college. This country is more than Hockey-moms and Joe The Plumbers ...in fact who cares about Joe??? I too believe that people should be self-reliant but if you were paying attention to listen you would have heard that he is not promising " a chicken in every pot." Those of you who would assume that the white Americans who voted for Obama are just idiot liberals are cleary people who dont understand anything about American politics. The exit polls clearly shows that college-educated white Americans from all age groups helped elect Obama. Why? because he is clearly the best man for the job. To say that blacks just voted for him because he is black is another stupid contention, if you had no way of knowing the color of either candidate people would still vote for Obama because he is clearly the best man for the job. If you dont agree, fine...but dont you dare tell me that Sarah Palin was a smart-choice for VP. She had NO CLUE....and as a proud Republican I hope and pray that is the last we see of her uneducated self. Lastly, he does not bring hope to our enemies they actually fear him more than they did McCain and a Palin ticket. If you looked at the celebrations last night it was all races, all ages celebrating a brilliant campaign of a man who was the best man for the job. To try to call Pres. Elect Obama names at this point clearly shows your own ignorance and insecurity issues. It was the illegals that put him in or the stupid blacks ...it was the educated Americans that finally came out and supported a man who has the education and leadership we need to bring about the change we need. He brings the hope we need to get this country moviing in the right direction.

Semper Fi, Major, and well written. I spent 20 years in our Corps (retired, 1985), and although not a Republican (I belong to no party) I am a conservative would have voted for Senator McCain, until he picked Governor Palin as his running mate. In my view , by that choice he sold out to party hacks to appeal (pander) to an ignorant rabble (party "base") for whom I feel no philosophical (and certainly no intellectual) connection. If that's name-calling, I think it fits. God Bless the United States and our President-elect, and success to the Marines.

      Well said.
What people need to realize is that Black people did not vote for just any ole black man nor did the white poeple or hispanic people. I being a black woman voted for him because he is a qualified black man.
He makes me very proud everytime he speaks. He has such class and grace. He is not negative and yes very very smart and just a class act. Someone we can all look up to.
My God Bless America and we all need to keep President Obama and his family in our daily prayers.

...whereas I, a white woman, who has four beautiful, and, incidentally, biracial children, am married to a Native American man, and I voted for the man, not the party. As did my newly-registered-voter darling hubby. :) I am quite pleased that Mr Obama won the election. I hope and pray that he will do even one THIRD of the stuff he indicated plans for in his campaign. Even accomplishing a quarter of them will make him three times the POTUS that The Shrub was. Barack Obama is, literally, a beacon of hope. I told my sons, "Look, see what he's accomplished? Any of you can now aspire to the same thing." Maybe in 30 or so years, one of my boys will be sitting their Irish/Apache/Cherokee/Penobscot/German/Scots/French/Dutch/English butt in the Big Chair. ^_^

As a "smart" educated person as yourself..you made a bad choice I fear...Obama background with racials, he would have never passed an FBI background...facts are facts..I disagree about Sarah...Alaska loves her and she has done an excellent job there...lack of experience is Obama..who is now our president..he scares me...I always hoped that Colin Powel would have been president someday..

      • Posted By: sirchase @ 11/05/2008 1:32:48 PM

Background check....wow you actually went there. Lets speak facts...Do you know that when you look at the associations of our current President Bush who was good friends with Sadam Hussein and had great relationships with Bin Ladens family..by your standards he also should not be able to pass a background check. Fear of truth is one thing. He also associates with the likes of Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Prof. Charles Ogeltree, Mayor Daley doesnt that count for anything. If you think I made a bad choice fine...I respect your opinion but if you think Sarah Palin was more fit for this job then I question your basic sense of logic. All of Alaska does not support her like you say, and her husband was very much involved in the Alaska Separatist Party up until last year and Sarah herself went to their annual meeting in March of this year. Besides she is not the most-well liked Governor in the Nation that is the slogan the Republicans try to pin on her. She has done some good things for her state, but she has done some pretty stupid things also. They went out of there way to appeal to Joe the Plumbers and Hockey-moms...well America is much more than that....that may work in Alaska but it didnt fly here. If they bring her back on National Stage she will be rejected again.

By the numbers of voters it wasnt that big of a win, money "bought" this election and reverse racism. Say what you want when a whole race of people vote 90% that smacks of racism. He has had very little experience as a senator, and now we are letting him run a whole country? Now maybe congress will get the lead out of their collective butts and have real campaign reform, where each candidate gets equal amounts of money and air time, then and only then will we elect a president by the people .

    • Posted By: republady @ 11/05/2008 2:31:26 PM

I agree 110% with you, we have let a VERY expensive campaign come in and swoop ignornant people off their feet. And now we are stuck with a very inexperienced Senator to lead our nation into what could the most devistating financial crisis ever.......oh and I am the one who pays my taxes and my mortgage that is going to be suffering bc I will bailing out those who have choosen to let the hard workers bail them out.

Nobody complained in last elections cycle, when special interest money was used to "buy" the presidency. It can easily be stated, that money purchased votes from the ignorant in previous elections as well...ex..(swift boat ads). Can you imagine a country where we cared enough about our future that we offered free and equal air time to all viable candidates? Eliminate the electoral college, thereby requiring all candidates to compete in all fifty states.....not just winning from a strategy....

    • Posted By: rickdv @ 11/05/2008 2:51:09 PM

If McCain had not run a negative campaign, picked a loser for a running mate things could have been different but when you are eratic and make bad choices you lose!! Obama won the election, didn't buy it and popular vote, as evident by the last two elections, means nothing. He was very strategic in his campiagning and knew what he had to do, no one said it was going to be a landslide but a win is a win is a win. Now stop bellyaching and pull together behind the President-elect and move on or move over.
