I just hope that Wallace and Steve Schmidt never works for another campaign. They were the ones with their hands on the knives that struck Sarah Palin in the back.
I just hope that Wallace and Steve Schmidt never works for another campaign. They were the ones with their hands on the knives that struck Sarah Palin in the back.
I just hope that Wallace and Steve Schmidt never works on anyone's campaign as long as they live. I don't agree with your thoughts on Sarah Palin. The above two did their best to take her down from the start.
McCain had two problems: Sarah Palin and Rick Davis. Palin was just plain stupid, and Davis well he was plain stupid also.
If you're an Obama supporter, then I'm sure he wouldn't want you to be referring to people as stupid. Aren't we supposed to be uniting, coming together and respecting each other's differences?
Palin had a fair chance to showcase herself as a woman ready for high office. Instead, she trotted onto the national stage as a 'pitbull with lipstick.'
Beautiful designer clothes, hairdos and makeup did not hide her nasty character and personality. Good riddance.
Republicans do not have a monopoly on running the country poorly. I think Jimmy Carter proved that to us all.
I think it's fair to say that McCain had the best chance for any Republican during this election. Given that, Kerry's campaign was far more ineffective in that he ran during an extremely unpopular war and against an extremely unpopular president. I think it's much sadder for the D's to lose that one, than the R's to lose this one. Although Kerry's Evri profile shows that maybe he'll get in the White House one way or another before McCain - http://www.evri.com/person/john-kerry-0x19ec1.html
The media has missed their opportunity to report on the historical fact that TWO women campaigned for the two highest positions in the US. Senator Hillary Clinton and Govennor Sarah Palin placed themselves at the mercy of the American public and asked America to consider them for President and Vice President of the United States of America. To my disappointment, the entertainment media and news media chose to violate these wonderful role models' human rights and instead of placing a veil over their faces to humiliate, silence and intimidate, theychose the method of broadcasting their faces on tv and insulting them, humilitating them, and abusing them both mentally and emotionally for all to see. Our nation may have come a long way in electing a black MALE president, but we missed a great opportunity to "walk the walk" of displaying women's human rights to the world.
Politics is a dirty business and if one, whoever they may be, wants to wollow in the dirt of politics they have to expect to come out soiled. Harry Truman used to say "If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen".
While I admire Hillary Clinton, a woman of talent, intelect and savvy I don't adminre Sarah Palin a woman who is opportunistic, crass, who has no scruples what so ever. Hillary fought a hard campaign and probably could have beaten most men who went against her. Unfortunately Barack Obama was a better man than she was. The primarys were close but he prevailed. Had Hillary done a few things differently she might have been the president elect today. To blame the media is just a lame excuse. If one looks at a variety of media one would see some slanted left others slanted right and a few in the middle. When the same story or incident is reported by all with pretty much the same words, same sound bites and same images it is the candidate not the media that screws up their respective campaigns.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda, the armchair quarterbacking has begun. The finger pointing will go on for some time by the losers no matter who they are. It is tough to lose and most people find it hard to believe it was their own fault.
It was a terribly run campaign by McCain and his people. They need to do some soul searching and a analysis of what went wrong and teach others who will campaign on their side in the future. If the lesson is learned well and quickly they could be formidable in 2012 if they don't they will not succeed until 2016 or beyond.
If it wasn't the WORST CAMPAIGN EVER, it will do until the the WORST shows up!
VERY WELL SPOKEN MY FRIEND!
well then, let's try again. To you Arganosh, you damn fool, you have the audacity to speak of honesty when this godless individual won through dishonesty? To think that it was reported that probably more than half of the men and women who are fighting for this country, their vote probably would not even reach us or be counted. To think that your boy gave ACORN over $800,000 to enlist Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Paris Hilton's Chihuahua and you speak of honesty. And in your post you continue showing just how stupid you are with you discussion of religious freedom. Religion should be free to express as long as you are not a threat to this country and anyone who doesn't realize that Muslims are a threat as they serve a false prophet and follow his manifesto of death that commands them to kill all infidels, then there is a problem just like KKK should not be allowed to exist even though the fools talk about Jesus Christ as they're burning a cross in your yard or hanging someone. You are the embodiment of ignorance and rebellion that put Obama into office.
reading this reminds why i didn't support mccain
Yep..we all know that candidates have 100% control over what their voters post on silly internet threads..right? Oh wait...that technology is not extant?...never mind.
You have been mislead. Try reading all the facts about all you have spoken of and then discuss--you've only heard the side of the story that you are pleading to hear.
You need an ENEMA , bud!!!
you sir are an imbecile, and have been swept into the dustbin of history. adios.
I told my students that the finger pointing at palinw would start immediately. She is probably the worst qualified candidate in modern history, and all this jabber about her running in 2012 is funny. Can you imagine if she were top of the ticket and had to answer real questions on a regular basis? SNL would not need a writing staff. However, McCain had nearly zero support from the gop base prior to picking her. He could not even give away the tickets to his convention night speech, and it was only a 10,000 seat venue! Along came palin and the hard right kool aid soaked faithful had their messiah. WWhen McCain did appearances by himself he got crowds of 1,500. When she was there is was 10,000. So - she was a drag among the sane, but for McCain he had to run a campaign for sane America, and he had to runa campaign for the republicon conservative base at the same time. If Obama were exactly the same candidate and white, McCain would have lost by 20%. If McCain had not sort of walked that line between the conservative base and sane America he would have lost by 20%. He needed the faithful fortheir energy and their money, he needed the sane for their votes. No one with half a brain could possibly still buy that hard right ideology any more given the stark and damning evidence of the abject failure of conservatism.
You've made some excellent points. McCain needed Palin desperately to convince the right wing nutjobs to support him, but she was like a boulder attached to his foot when it came to anyone outside of the wackjob bubble. It was a lose / lose proposition. It really is amazing that it was even as close as it was in terms of the popular vote. There are still too many people in this country who are unable to think for themselves. I'm not sure what else the Republicans would have to do to convince the right wing cooks that they really, really suck at running a country. I thought the Bush administration did all they could in that regard.
Don't forget about Dan Quayle from the 1st Bush Presidency. Very Dumb. He couldn't spell worth a lick, but like Sarah...was very attractive-looking. But he was right about the morality of our society going down the tubes. We need to turn this around.
Mike. I believe that McCain would have run his administration the same way he led his campaign.
I believe that he would have run his administration the same way.
Mike
What went wrong for McCain???!!! The racist black vote is what went wrong for him. They turned out in droves much much higher than four years ago only to elect "one of their own". I know black traditionally go Dem...but Im talking here about those that came out of the woodwork to vote on racial pride!!! Racism is alive and well in America!!!
Robert2009, if you're going to make accusations, you should be sure you're using the correct terms. It's impossible for black people to be racist. By definition, you have to be an "oppressor" to be racist. Blacks have "been oppressed" in history. Prejudice may be the word that you're looking for. I find it interesting that you're offended by racial pride, when white males in America have always never been the most proud and it hasn't been viewed negatively in the past. The reality is, there are some Americans that are Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, etc, that made their chose based on character and the candidate whose views were closest to theirs. There are good Democrats and there are good Repulicans in America. Unfortunately, we have to make up for the ignorant ones like yourself. YOU are the one that is racist or you wouldn't even make that type of comment. No one in America raised hell when a white man ran the country for all of these years-find it interesting that it's so offensive that a black man is in charge now. Don't worry, they won't paint the White House black!! You are amusing......just deal with it Barack Obama is YOUR president whether you like it or not!!
By your goofy, politically correct reasoning I guess that's true. I could make the argument that the sky is not really blue and it might be technically correct.
HEY, ROCKET SCIENTIST...
THE BLACK COMMUNITY, IS AT BEST, AT BEST, 15 - 18% OF THE POPULATION...
I WON'T EVEN SAY MORE...
GO CHECK THE U.S. CENSUS THAT, MY TAX DOLLARS PAID FOR...
MAYBE THE RACIST, LAZY, MORONIC RED-NECKS, COULDN'T FIND THE POLLS :)
... must've been tooooooooooo many 6-PACKS with "JOE THE PLUNGER" :)
... BUT YOU NEVER KNOW, WITH THE GOOD LORD... MAY BE HE WOULD ALLOW SOME ENLIGHTENMENT TO, PERMEATE THE DARK AND DENSE SPACES OF YOUR MIND...
GOD BLESS AMERICA, GOOD BLESS "PRESIDENT-ELECT" BARACK H. OBAMA...
and GOD BLESS you, my misguided, fellow AMERICAN
:)
Spread LOVE and not LIES... The Election is over...
... now HOW WILL YOU HELP TO, MOVE AMERICA FORWARD... (rhetorical:)
You are so right. I wonder where these same black voters were during all of the other presidential elections? I suppose they never cared before?
Hey rocket-scientist-yourself, that isn't the percentage of racial minorities in the eastern states where he got the most votes...
Hey rocket-scientist-yourself, that isn't the percentage of racial minorities in the eastern states where he got the most votes...
Way to go Roberto2009..........You are a "shining" example that racism is still alive and well...You should be really proud of your statements....By the way....you are the minority....The majority (including myself) have spoken by our vote..We don't care about race....we only cared about THE RACE...and the best man won.
Thanks to God and the American people who put President Barack Obama in office.
You believed in your skewed view of 'what went wrong' so much that you felt the need to post it twice, eh? Well, I'll rebut it twice - Obama also won the white vote.
He won some of the white vote- but not all and certainly not mine. Besides we'll see how happy the working white class voters who did vote for Obama are once they realize that he will only help the poor. His own tax cut facts website told me that there was a difference of $33 dollars between the two candidates plans. WHOO HOOO! $33 DOLLARS!! Now I am RICH!!! Give me a break. Maybe my husband should just quit his job so we can get more money and buy a house we can't afford. I don't trust him and I think he is very sneaky and cunning.
You are so right! We will pay for this for a long time to come.
You lazy Republicans sat back and nomainated a candidate that was older than my grandmother. Most of you did not even bother to vote in the primaries. Big mistake. Seriously if Omaba would have been seventy years old and a black man I would have stayed at home rather than vote for someone that old. Palin did not lose the race for McCain. The race was won by the better candidate Omaba. Stop crying. The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands at times of chanllaenge and controversy. MLK. Peace
I don't think it was the worst campaign ever, although there were two major blunders - (1) suspending his campaign for a couple of days to deal with the economic crisis (2) picking Sarah Palin as his running mate. But plenty of other candidates over the years have made similar mistakes, and as they say, hind sight is always 20/20.
Besides, who cares? The race is over. I thought McCain gave a very gracious concession speech and Obama gave a very humble acceptance speech. Let's try to build on that instead of looking back at things that no longer make a difference.
Folks, it's just time for the Dems to run things. McCain had too many things fighting against him... Bush, the economy, the War in Iraq, Sarah Palin as a VP, Obama had a lot of money, negative campaigning, bad advisors, old age, the media for Obama...just too much. The Republicans had their time and we're in such a mess. The culmination of these things were insurmountable for McCain to overcome.
I like cool-aid.Try some-might do you good.Drink a mug full, and you will be as smart as the Democrats.
Are you trying to be "smart"??? That joke is so played. We use to say that back in the 80's. Come up with something original would you please. NEXT!
No it was not the worst campaign ever. Get over it. Your guy won...move on!
AMEN
sad day
Michael Savage was right about the turds running John "Moderate Loser"McCain's camaign..SAVAGE WAS THE ONLY RADIO/MEDIA PERSON TO SAY IT,AND HE SAID IT MONTHS AGO!...AND NOW WE KNOW IT'S A MATTER OF FACT!
We went from Karl Rove's smash their skulls to the Three Blind Mice, the Republican party is over!
Joe_Mama:
Your supposed arguments are easily undermined. The only reason you should be laughing is that you realized how stupid you look.
1) Obama won by 6, not 7 % points.
2) Ayers and Hussein? Try economic policy, national security, inability to make a decision for fear of voter alienation...
3) Obama won more votes than any in history because this is the most recent election; there are simply more voters now, and the election excitement turned out quite a respectable percentage.
4) Wrong. Clinton won by 8.53% in 1996. I'm not math genius, but the last time I checked, 8.53% > 6%. I'd love to see how you came to a different conclusion, though.
Advice? Before you go laughing at others, reflect a bit.. .and perhaps... think? Let it be known that I am a hater, not of Obama, or Democrats, but of willful stupidity.
1) i meant million not points, my bad
2) i thought you lost on the bs....you're telling me you lost on the issues? thanks.
3) i'm glad you agree with me
4) In 1996 Bill Clinton won 49.23% of the popular vote (source: http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/) vs Obama's 52.34%. The way I figure (as does most of the educated world) 52 is greater 49....but that's just me.
Any more questions?
Love,
JM
whiterock, are you serious? Obama won by a landslide, and you're saying "he should have done much better"?
I agree with Whiterock totally. Obama won because the black and young voters played a big role this year. he won 40% of white, among that, I would think 20% are college kids (and plus high school 18 years kids)
Actually, Obama won every age group except 65 and older.
He also won at least 2/3 of all minorities...not just the African Americans.
He also won people making under $50k/year and tied on people making over $50k/year.
He won among all education levels.
He also won independents and 20% OF THE CONSERVATIVE VOTE!!!!
When you pull your head out of your--err...I mean "the sand", you can join the rest of us in the real world.

Likewise Einstein. Read his post. Why does he need to pull his head out of "you know where"?
Are you truly this dense or do you have a reading comprehension issue?
His "landslide was with the electoral vote not in the popular vote. The actual vote of the people had only a 6% difference between the 2 candidates. Remember the electoral vote issue with Bush/Gore? Bush won the electoral votes and Gore won the popular votes and people were upset because Bush became the president when the people really wanted Gore...remember? Well, Obama didn't get the love from the people that he was expecting.
6% is a very respectable win in the popular vote in our very divided country. Presidents have won with less.
