Perhaps Barnes & Nobles should think about selling clothes. That way, Palin could get some history and political science while she tries on those pumps.

    Designer suits: $150,000
    Personal Stylist: $30,000

I still think the best comment I have heard about Palin's spending spree was by Paula Poundstone on "Wait! Wait! Don't Tell Me!" last weekend: "If you can't dress yourself for less than $1,000 per day, I don't want you anywhere near the federal budget." And now it sounds as if Palin knew they were going to lose, and decided to loot the campaign for what she could get.

It is interesting to me that people on the Palin express will not admit to the fact that this woman was one of the many mistakes that John McCain made. She was great at the convention and recited a perfect speech, BUT when she had to speak on her own it was OVER. This whole clothes thing is just the icing on the cake. She tried to portray herself as this "hockey mom" from butt-crack Alaska who was supposed to be a "regular" person. As soon as she had to opportunity to prove that, she went on a shopping spree to deck out her whole family. The McCain campaign may not have liked her much and there may be a sense of bitterness but, these people are not telling a lie. What reason do they have to make it up? They already lost the campain. And poor McCain, he did not even know. Well that tells me how clueless and uninvolvd he was with the campaign. Maybe that is why he loss. Please people let us stop drinking the Palin kool-aid and see the light. If she runs in 2012 I will make sure that I head a campaign to derail her efforts for anyone who runs against her. OBAMA 2012!!!!!

This isn't "nitpicking", nor is it about anyone else's behavior, this is about the hypocritical behavior of a candidate running on the promise of cutting the pork out of government spending. The fact that she went on a spree (and the article does say there is a paper trail which will come out in the audits) to buy pretty things for herself and her family displays a fundemental difference between her words and her actions.

What is this, the National Enquirer? There are not facts to back up any of these!

Newsweek is nothing but a gossip rag.

They need to put Palin and McCain in one of those credit card commercials............................"Oh johhhhhhn"!!!!!.............. "I want to build my own credit card"........."I'll start by putting a picture of the bridge to nowhere on it!..........."I'll buy Todd a new snowmobile".........(McCain after being thrown under the bus)................"What's in your wallet"?

In response to the claims of bias about the issue of Palin not speaking--the issue is not that she was not allowed to speak. The issue is that she tried to speak in a venue where vice-pesidential candidates are usually silent.

I hope that this election is an end to the perceived effectiveness of hate ads and hate speeches that do nothing to deal with issues. Both Dole and McCain/Palin campaigns fell using them.

The old saying, you have to crawl before you can walk, has been turned on it's head. We had to walk first, to take the big step towards the eradication of the Party of hate. In 4 short years we will add to our swelling majorities in the House and Senate. My advise to Morris, Limbaugh, Hannoty, Matelin, Robertson, Dobson, Bennett, Pat and Babe Buchanon and the rest of the puppeteers that lead the GOP party of hate. Cash in your chips and get out of town. I would implore everyone to boycott the sponsors of hate radio and hate TV. Force Fox to rid themselves of the low lifes they employee or suffer loss of revenue.

In the next few weeks an attempt to censor hate radio will be made. I don't agree that they should be deprived of their right to free speech and I'm sure this attempt will fail.

We will benefit by the attempt though. The spotlight will expose the hate and the haters, Video tapes of the worst statements and attacks will be displayed for all to see. Wittnesses will come forth like the rats they are to reveal the plots to distort and lie. I'm looking forward to it. the ties to Violent Extremist Groups will be uncovered and the Republican party in their attempt to defend themselves will dig a deeper hole instead. please email Senator Shummer and encourage him to go after them. the result will not infringe on the first ammendment but it will show these extreme haters for what they are.

Now that we're standing up, why sit down before the job's done.

The commenters on the Newsweek Blogs have answered every bottom dwelling Republican attack and then some. Most of the cowards deserted the ship in the last few weeks. This on it's own should show us they're not up to the fight.

Let's take a few days to enjoy this victory over hate and then let us not let one negative hateful comment by these hatemongers go unanswered. Keep on Blogging !

Well, Bass Pro, I confess that I was wrong about Obama winning Georgia. But, life ain't perfect. No hard feelings, Georgia. You are a wonderful state and you voted your best the same as everybody else. It really is time for all of us to quit bickering and heal this country. I really appreciated all that Senator John Mc Cain said in his concession speech. He really is a truly great American and a great man who did his damnedest to win. It is time for the positive life to return to our country. I pledge to do my part. Good luck to all.

10-4 olderwiser. My daughter in Savannah is happy Ga. went McCain and my Son in Hotlanta is celebrating Obama's win.

Ga. is growing in the same direction as N.C. Atlanta's borders are more or less defined by Macon to the South and N.C. to the North. No matter where you roam in that neck of the woods, there are large populations springing up. I doubt it will be very long before Atlanta will be to Ga. like Philly is to Pa. Atlanta has about 3 times the population of the next largest city and several cities abutting are in the top 15 in population. Ga. was a toss up this year. I think that says it all.

I really do echo your call for serendipity but I don't include any best wishes for those that used fear and smear tactics. i'll be on their butts forever.

Heading up to Lake Istokpoga tomorrow for 4 days of fishing. Be good.,

I'm looking forward to continuing the battlet. I know i come a across as radical to some and I'd have a hard time denying that but I hate hate and will confront it whenever i get the opportunity. Anyone fro Green Peace to Environmentalist to Right to Lifers to Antiwar activists to help for the homeless activists are all radical. Who would listen if you were fervent about your cause. The haters learned that long ago.

The election's over. Yesterday's emotions have been reduced to raw numbers which speak for themselves. The past is over. Long live the future. Let's try to live it right this time. We have rejoined the world. Long live the whole damned world. I am so glad that I lived long enough to see this.
