WOW!!! Newsweek does another article trashing Palin???surprise, surprise, surprise. I wonder if people still but their magazine. If I read National Inquirer, I???d get news that was more balanced!

"Trashing"? How is it trashing to report that she spent tens of thousands of dollars on clothes? Great move for someone who claims to be "frugal". It's an indication of the kind of person she is, period. I'm curious of what your reaction would be if the democrat VP had done the same thing. $95 for baby Trig?! Don't even get me started on the "First Dude"....
Far righties can't stand the truth, hadn't you noticed this after this long awful campaign? It's only fair and truthful when it comes from them, no body on the other side EVER says anything truthful.
Everyone just relax. You Republicans are so alarmist! Funny that you're so worried about the President who wants to spare troops from further combat. Can you just try to support the president-elect instead of this incessant whining? And Mr. (or Ms.) Truth_Be_Told, I somehow have a feeling that you have probably achieved slightly less in your lifetime than the man you're referring to as a sniveling ignoramus, so get a grip. If he's a loser, you're lower than dirt.
Pow! Nice one Grateful and Glad!
I am not sure anybody here is grasping the true meaning of this. I was a McCain supporter and now that Obama is elected I support him. He is the head of the country...he is our future and that is fact. Let's get down to fixing the problems. Does no good bashing Palin. Does no good bashing Biden. We all voted for what we believe and I can (almost) guarantee that there were parts of both Republican and Democrat platforms that you either agreed with or disagreed with but voted for the one you agreed with more. Let's hope McCain can rebound and continue his fight against pork. What we need now is for Obama to stand up and direct the attention away from the historic fact that an African American is President and redirect the attention back to the crisis we are in. Time to act, time to lead, and he will consolidate the whole country behind a strong personality with even stronger advisers and staff.
Nicely said salv. I believe he's gotten a good start, had a CIA briefing this morning and a big meeting with economic advisors, after 2 days and not even sworn in. He means business. Let's give the guy a chance!
God bless your son and husband and God's speed to them both.
PS - some people can't get over race and deep seated hate and anger.
Palin is shallow, not stupid. People need to keep an eye on her.
Honestly, I think she's evil incarnate. Its all wrapped in this pretty package that lies, and lies and lies. She'll be serving that kool-aide in 2012.
This shopaholic and her high school dropout husband spebt
more money on clothes than me or my husband have spent
in the last 5 years, and I am a low paid Public Defender with
a law degree, and my husband is a Dentist.
When the shoping news came out, what Palin said was she didn't know much about it and she just got clothes bought by some staffer. She seemed surprised that the clothes were that expensive. Now we are finding out that she knew it all along. Talk about chutzpah!!!
I just can't understand why some many people keep believing these lies that come out of her mouth. What does it take to see her for who she is folks? The whole accent folksy thing was a fake too, watch her debates for governor on youtube, suckers.
We Republicans can never recover as a party until we come to the realization that all woes that have befallen us have been imposed on us by Democrats and their rad-lib media minions.
We must only believe the true facts supplied to us by anonymous emails.
We have to kick out all pseudo-Rs who feign to be moderates, and only admit right wing true believer ???good people???.
Until we commit to these truths, we are doomed as a party.
A 40 year republican
No, apparently we need to get all you extremeists to move to Alaska so you can suceed and let the rest of rebuild the party and the country. We don't need radicals from either side running this country, so go off with Caribou ding dong and let the rest of us get on with reparing this country in peace.
"lexi97701", What is it you have against anonymous smear emails? Don't you know that the rad-lib press oppresses us all, and the only solution is to anonymously destroy the character of all who oppose us?
Right, how silly of me, I forgot the only balanced news is FAUX, that's what my 84 y.o. racist father told me, God love him, he can't change now. I forgive him.
Hammer + Head = Pain
Rinse + Repeat = Concussion
FYI I spent 20 years in the US Navy. Great career but now I cannot get a decent paying job for no experience in the real world...That is Pittiful
I am truly sorry too hear that. They always say they give you tools to have a career in the service. Many people can't find decent work these days, so maybe that isn't the real issue.
I'm looking forward to the "change" in administration that Obama promised. I will, however, hope that McCain remains actively involved, I like that guy. Peace.
Yes, I had had the utmost respect for him before the campaign really got into swing. I was so glad to hear him seem to be himself again in his concession speech. I do beleive he has a good heart deep down and is honorable, I wish the far right hadn't screwed up the GOP.
I hope the best for Obama but I am fearful as well. Our local news had a press release this morning and my company advised us to close out our 401k and sell all stock . It was also said by wall street journal
Our country will never come together as you say because we fight within our country dems against reps and that is set in history.
I was raised not to bear hate against any one for it is a sin. Don't stare at someone crippled but my country is now crippled and I can't help but stare in shock what this country has done to all of us.
Fearful for the future for my grand children
Judgin from your posts I'd have to say you didn't listen very well.
Congress passes or denies laws by a single vote. You don't hear them saying it was too close to call
Wow, the guy hasn't even been sworn in and 2 days after elected your saying some of you are saying you can see where his presidency is going?
Some of you are so pitifully sad and truly pathetic. People from all races , ages, and parties came together to give a new bi-partisan effort a try. Our children now old enough to vote, that are quite obviously more color blind than many of their elders and less educated fellow Americans put their trust in an extremely intelligent African American man to try and do something about our situation rather than continue the terrible political movement that got us here and you've already nailed the coffin on the administration. You make me sick. Stop whining, stop hating and come together and try to be Americans. Many of us put a stop to that party this election because of the awful campaign they produced. My white middle aged professional independent vote went over to teh party that didn't choose a Veep based on their legs and evangeliscal twist. One party choose wisely. I would strongly prefer our Veep to have a serious knowledge of important things like Africa being a continent and other rather critical things instead of thinking its more important to run around and spend tons of some poor donors money to cloth her family in designer threads. What a selfish hate monger witch. Pardon the heck out of the rest of us that put our countries safety and families first! Get over it and come together of get the f_ck out! I don't need some witch doctor to lay hands on me to tell me God didn't choose her. Talk about being scared of the future, why do you think so many people breathed a sigh of relief to have the GOP ticket defeated? When the GOP gets it together, maybe some of us will come back, but until then, give the Dems a chance. IT's time to stop the Partisan crapola and be the UNITED STAES OF AMERICA.
I am a (R) but I did not vote for bush either time. We are one country undivided (joke) Its not just the R's because others voted too. Our government dictated who we had to choose from by electorial votes not one on one votes. They can change their minds and make us choose who they want us to. Just as they did. I did not want either of them. But they had the MONEY(ours) moreso than the other runners early so now we have to settle for less than we as a country deserve.
"justavoice4u": It is remarkable that you scold folks for "whining" while you commence whining about a future that has not occured.
I, for one, will stop talking about the past when republicans stop trying to blame the last 8 years on the Dems and to blame the rad-lib press for an election lost that was a rejection of that past and the propaganda machine employed in a effort to further entrench the Bush operatives who took over the McC campaign.
A 40 year republican
Well said.
It won't be long before the wheels start coming off Mr. Obama's little red wagon. Mr. Obama's "presidency" is a put-up job. Mr. Obama is a clever liar and his election is the bitter fruit borne from 50 years' public indoctrination called "education" by the unionized teachers. Old Chinese curse says, "May you live in interesting times." Take a big whiff because it's all about to get very, very interesting indeed.
Wow Jordanx3, you are possibly the most bitter and angry person on here. Perhaps you should move to another country because we're trying to put things back together here and we don't need any more bitter hate mongers here. The new face of America has spoken and much of it is the NEXT generation, they've made it clear that they have more trust in a well educated man that wants to truly put his country first, not himself and his cronies. God forbid we give him a chance before we condemn him. You're probably a just another angry racist. My upper middle aged white minister sister had people like you paste hateful racist proaganda all over her front door and porch along with her garbage in Missouri because tshe had the gall to support the person she thought the better candidate. Thats what your staright talk hate express did to this country. Why don't you just move on up to Alaska and suceed with them and let us get on with repairing our country?
It is only a true continuation from where we have been the past eight years (and in the decades before) except this time, it will be time to bring the economy of the country down. The people need to get along because it is in our hands to make sure that government does its job for us. If we continue to allow such gross oversight, then yes, you are right that it won't be pretty. The only blame we can take for this is when we look in the mirror if we don't act now.
Of couse the next several years are going to become increasingly worse. The wheels have already come off the wagon, and we are now in the first inning of an economic depression. I can think of 700 bllion reasons why our taxes are going up, regardless of who got elected. But now, we have competence at the top, and thereby have a shot at eventual recovery.
"We can't solve problems with the same kind of thinking we used when we created them." -- Albert Einstein
you need to stop whining over the past 8 years. Look what is happening now and in the future. If you think that was bad just wait...You will see...
Nice that Clinton and McCain had such a friendly chat. I wonder if McCain repeated his joke about Chelsea Clinton to her and they had a good laugh? God, you really can't beat a Clinton for pure politico-ness, can ya?
The only division Obama creates (and not on purpose) is the division between educated and uneducated. Uneducated has come to equal Republicans, and Educated has come to equal Democrat. It used to not be that way. Even in Nixon's time, educated people were the backbone of the Republican party. It wasn't unitl the neocon revolution of 1994, let by Rush, Newt, and the radical radio network (part of the MSM, mind you) where the Republican party began to appeal to the uneducated. This culminated in them electing the worst president in US history, twice. And, as you know, nearly destroying our country in the meantime. The only solution to this is for our republican brethren to begin reading again. Take some classes at the local community college. Get a clue people! You are acting as stupid as you are. Try to better yourselves, and come back in 4 years.
I beg to differ on the education of the people who voted for Obama vs. other candidates. Republicans are no different than Liberal Democrats four years ago. Liberal Democrats have had four years to fester the hate, and use this victory to show more claws. I think this is a very grave mistake. It isn???t education that plays in politics here. This would be a gross stereotype. This is history repeating itself to the tenfold. Nothing has changed. Republicans made a mistake in the 2000 primaries when McCain lost to Bush. Now that election is over this year, McCain has held a lot of sound economic principles that we could have used. I agree the McCain economics did not cater to the rhetoric the liberals have rightfully craved. I understand the support for Obama based on the same reasons that Republicans supported Bush in 2000. And irony is that Bush won that year due to a lot of ???peace??? rhetoric on ending Clinton???s war. Four years later, we are divided again & in a new war. Liberals are mad. The constitution is being infringed upon in the days of fright and terror lurking in every corner. Liberals cried against Bush, moved to Canada (and apparently returned here to vote Obama?), and shouted that Bush would never be their president. I saw exactly why liberals were concerned. And I felt that Bush was doing all he could to keep this country safe but he took 9/11 so personally that his logic and management was over ridden by emotion. I didn???t think it wise to put him in office two terms for this reason primarily. And so the problems escalated. It isn???t over. The Democrats have put Bush in office for a third term in the guise of Obama. There is no difference except for what I can only say is a continued dramatic departure from the constitution of our country. It isn???t education at play here. It is clear as day that it is the same mistake people make --- repeating history over and over. That???s all. I hope Obama is a success. But I don???t see him doing anything but enhancing the Bush policies that liberals cried against. It will be slow, gradual, and then a slap in the face that Republicans have been dealt. Democrats are going to be slapped next. It is to your advantage that you stop shoving the dirt in the Republicans face. Your differences are thin at best.
Yes, why is this:
Take a blank map of the U.S., and a box of crayons. Shade the states with the highest rate of high-school dropouts + lowest rate of college graduates in one color. Then shade the converse states, those with the lowest rate of high-school dropouts + highest rate of college graduates, and another color. Now superimpose that map over a political map. They match up almost perfectly. (Notable exception: North Carolina. The times they are a-changin.)
"Jordan": I tried to "take a big whiff", but the stench of what has happened over the last 8 years was overwhelming. Can you help me with that?
