Mr. Obama's presidency is a put-up job and the bitter fruit borne by 50 years of public indoctrination called "education" by the unions. The sort of corruption that put Mr. Obama where he is cannot stand in the light of day for long. It ain't gonna be pretty watchin' the wheels come off Mr. Obama's little red wagon.

Grant_X you are just brilliant. Sorry we are so stupid for not believing all your Liberal ideas. We will see Obama has not done anything yet. But by some of these posts I know where this Presidency is going. Let just hope I am wrong for the Countries sake.

For all you righties screaming about Newsweek being biased - go over to Fox News and see the same story posted on their site.
As many here have said, you folks need to at least try to become acquainted with reality.

Right, and I think they were among the first to report some of the back biting stories including Palin having absolutely no knowledge of geography!

ATTN: REPUBLICANS --- I am challenging you to see the media for what it is. In the wake of the change in the nation???s party to the democratic side, our media have continued to unleash hostility on you that is making you turn on your own party. DO NOT BOW DOWN TO THE LEVEL THAT LIBERALS HAVE because of what you see happening. Liberals are accusing you of being racist. You are not. You are above this. Liberals have bashed President Bush and cried out against him. They had the right to do this for many reasons, but none of the reasons are true to the Republicans. They have turned around and called you racist because you cry about Obama now. The hypocrisy is astounding. Our two party system has many of the same values. There is a great failure to see this. We don???t like war. We enjoy our freedom. Republicans saw the Patriot Act and defended it, quite possibly because their president put it in play. Liberals cried out. The downfall that happened to us in the wake of 9/11 has allowed the next party to come in. No party takes blame. It is not time for you to point fingers. It is a time for Republicans to regroup and come together and also hope the next administration, yes, the Obama administration, is successful FOR THIS COUNTRY! Sarah Palin is a decent woman. Do NOT fall prey to criticizing her because I can assure you criticizing the governor of Alaska is a ploy the liberals have made to manipulate you and further bring you down. She is an easy target for media and liberals who do not engage in thinking about consequences. Do not under estimate the power of educating yourselves right now. I CHALLENGE the DEMOCRATS and REPUBLICANS to learn the constitution of this country. I challenge you to make sure your Congress and President do no further injustice to what this country has stood for through centuries before now. If you fall short of educating yourself & continue to be manipulated you will have a harder climb to make. The Democratic Party is only beginning what the Republicans have just gone through. Now, it is your turn to watch the Democrats put a man into office who is only going to enhance the very Bush Policies they cried against. When they see the next president as human, the best thing is for the two parties to shake hands and remember that American government is supposed to be government OF the people, FOR the PEOPLE, BY the PEOPLE! Don???t forget this. This country has just elected Obama into the presidency. I love that he is ethnic. But I can assure you that it is no different than Bush running for a third term and we will see an enhancing of the policies that have been spoken against. The president will not make change. The people will. Both parties will learn & see what I see. I know this because I have been in both parties.

It???s surprising that folks haven???t commented more regarding the quote that one of Palin???s handlers made while actually defending her rogue nature, i.e., that she???s ???not good at process questions???. Just another example of how the ???not ready for prime time??? (to use a SNL term) so-called journalism major, who should be able to deal with those questions if not for the fact that she had to attend numerous colleges over many years to eke out a degree, simply doesn???t have the intellectual capacity, ethics, or tools to lead this nation, not now, not ever. The fact that those radio idiots were able to use up all their ???Sarkozy??? material punking her with lines such as ???my wife is hot in bed??? and referencing a porn film points to her incredible stupidity ??? she makes Bush look like the leader of Mensa! That total lack of awareness and hasty vetting on McCain???s part in choosing such a vapid, ethically challenged potential leader for this country was his biggest error.

The inconsistencies of Palin???s messages when it suits her are astounding ??? ???reformer??? vs. violator of ethics laws (Troopergate ??? don???t think for a minute that the personnel board probe was independent in any way, when she could fire the lot of them if she didn???t like the conclusion), potentially of tax code (reimbursement for staying at home and for modifying forms for children???s travel) and of improper pipeline bidding (to a Canadian company no less, wait until that one runs its course!) - wanting to make Obama's pastor a campaign issue when she was exorcised from witches by a nutjob pastor - making anti-American claims when her husband is a member of a secessionist party and has used her Oval Office (to what end?), anti-socialist vs. distributor of checks to all Alaskans, ???plain-values purveyor of transparency??? when she cleaned out high end stores above and beyond guidelined purchases and had staffers place them on their credit cards, etc, etc.

Glad she???s going back home where she belongs, to a place where dirty politics is king, and population doesn???t really care about the ethics of their leaders ??? she and Ted Stevens can hire Joe the Plumber and stuff ballot boxes.

    • Posted By: lexi97701 @ 11/06/2008 1:50:40 PM

Why do you think that State Personnel Board report came out on the eve before election night, the polls were'nt looking so good and they needed to save their jobs! It only would've been safe to go against her if they had gotten rid of her. They were trying to keep their jobs in the face of teh Barracuda's possible revenge!

Posting all this gossip is very unbecoming of Newsweek. For the last 3 issues, I looked in vain for anything positive about McCain-Palin. Before that it was rare.

    Why pile on now,for Heaven's sake?They lost!!!!!

Well Stated, Janet. These quasi-socialist euro-wanna-be liberals see Sarah Palin for what she is, and that's a person who speaks directly to the people. They know that she is a severe threat in 2012. What scares them the most is that she is a God fearing Christian who still believes in the power of prayer. You may note that none of these whiners are mentioning that Hillary had nine $6000 pants suits bought, so that she could choose one for the convention. How hypocritical.

      • Posted By: roooth @ 11/06/2008 1:27:42 PM

Palin a severe threat in 2012?? Not to Neiman Marcus!

      • Posted By: gosioux @ 11/06/2008 10:14:16 AM

The only threat she presents is to the ability of the Republicans to win the WH in 2012 with her on the ticket. As far as the clothing is concerned, Hilary, unlike Sarah, pays for her clothes not Democratic donors. As a Christian, I do believe that God was listening during this campaign. The proof to me is that fact that Obama won, rather than a ticket that seeks to use God as a wedge issue.

    • Posted By: Truth_Be_Told @ 11/06/2008 12:54:47 AM

It's simple...they are the media...and their hearts are filled with hatred for Sarah Palin. They still see her as a threat in 2012 and are doing everything within their power to tear her down. See the media for what they are, and everything will make sense.

        Hatred? No.

        Fear and loathing? Yes.

She is another spend and borrow Republican, or, in Palin's case, a spend on someone else's credit card Republican. Here's the deal, Palin voters. You're also Bush voters. You voted for this country's worst president: twice. Your judgment is clearly impaired.

come on hojohojo.. I am a former Marine.. what was Bush these last 8 years?? Oh he was in the National Guard... did you have a problem with that.. hmmm he was absent for six months and had no answer when asked... here is the article... http://www.hereinreality.com/commander.html there was even a reward offered to prove he served in the state of Alabama which he claimed.. has never been claimed.. Get the facts man... and God Bless your daughter! It isn't black or white you idiot!! it is what the NATION thought was right!

  • Posted By: LarryRiedman @ 11/06/2008 12:07:14 PM

So that's the reason no staffer name has been put forward to blame for this debacle. It makes senses that the person wearing the clothes is the one who took the initiative to buy them. There are other reasons to suspect Palin herself ??? she has an inflated view of her importance, has a sense of entitlement, is ethically casual, and (as a former beauty contestant) probably is overly concerned about her appearance. Plus, she probably expected to win the election and thereby avoid accountability.

vwracer, "These quasi-socialist euro-wanna-be liberals see Sarah Palin for what she is, and that's a person who speaks directly to the people" Yeah, right - and what she's saying is, "Give me your credit card, do I look better in this or in this? Or should I just go with the towel?"

Maybe us "quasi-socialist euro-wanna-be liberals" just caught on to what Palin was a lot quicker than the Bible-thumping, gun-toting hypocrites who tried to sell the poodle as a pit bull.

McCain and Palin didn't lose because they couldn't get their anti-American, anti-Constitution, anti-intellectual message to the people, they lost because the majority of Americans completely rejected it - because we saw it for exactly what it was: racist idiocracy in action.

Some people like to watch her walk away because they like the look of her ass, I'd just like to see her go away.

By 2012, Palin will have long since imploded under the weight of her massive and unjustified high opinion of herself. She will be relegated to the trivia dustheap of history, and that is exactly where she should be.

Remember; looks fade, stupid is forever.

To "Truth_Be_Told" - You should have been fearful 4 and 8 years ago when Bush was elected. His (and Cheney's) policies have done more to weaken America at home and abroad than anything Barack has proposed. Remember that Paul O'Neill was railroaded out of town when he dared to tell the Bushies that their tax cut plan was irresponsible. Perhaps you just haven't been paying attention.

    • Posted By: Truth_Be_Told @ 11/06/2008 1:57:11 AM

At least Pres Bust has gone after our enemies, while Barack wants to invite them to the White House for tea and a talk. If Barack talks about change enough, or enemies might stop sponsoring terrorism. (Yea Right) Thanks to President Bush???s leadership, Sadam is gone and that Taliban has been kept at bay. Barack???s policies have been tried in the past and they failed miserably???Clinton did nothing when the Cole was attacked, our embassy was bombed, and the World Trade center was attacked (1st time). Last night Barack eloquently said nothing, and I suspect that Barak???s legacy will be that he the first black president???and not much else.

      • Posted By: roooth @ 11/06/2008 1:15:50 PM

NO, Bush did NOT go "after our enemies! Do you not pay ANY attention to facts?

Bush gave Osama Bin Laden everything he demanded after 9/11. War in Iraq has been one big gift to both the oil corporatists and Osama.

Bush let the Saudi's go free after financing 9/11 and has let the Saudis, the worst Muslim theocratic dictatorship in the entire world, continue to use the money we pay them for oil to finance terrorists throughout the world - and Bush sucks up to them at every turn.

Bush has allowed Osama to remain alive and free instead of dedicating our resources on bringing the people who attacked us to justice. First he said, "Osama, dead or alive.", Then he said, "Osama doesn't matter anymore.

You do NOT get to pretend that Bush did anything to get those who attacked us without having the truth thrown back at you.

Bush ignored the warnings that Osama was preparing to attack. Bush let him attack and did nothing to get him. Instead, Bush went to war in Iraq for his corporate buddies and their lust for oil and power.

Over 4500 Americans are now dead because of Bush's decisions. Bush is no heroic leader.

      • Posted By: toni2akb @ 11/06/2008 8:54:42 AM

Bush and Cheney went to war with Iraq to take over the Oil. They thought it would be easy. We have lost so many livies over greed. McCain thought that the women of America were stupid and would voted for any woman because she was one. Thank goodness for our intelligents that we saw through Palin "The Socker Mom."

  • Posted By: lexi97701 @ 11/06/2008 1:09:50 PM

    TO HOJOHOJO:
Quite a few of our Commanders in Chief have never served, that's hardly a reason to pick the best person for teh job. A lot os us lost a lot of faith and respect for McCain, this article brings me back a degree of that, but certainly the GOP has lost the faith of many in forcing him to choose Palin, good Lord, the woman has very little intellect, doesn't know that Africa is a Continent and they have the nerve to even consider her running for President? There isn't a person in the US that should vote for her after all that's happened and her ruining McCain's chances. Let's all try to repair our country together and hope teh GOP has the good snese to think very hard before chosing the standard bearer for the next race. No more egomaniacal, selfish ,me first Joe-6 packs that don't have the first clue about the world, please.

The Obama administration was brought to you by Operation Chaos! Great job..be sure to thank your leader.

HECKUVA JOB, RUSHIE! Your Operation Chaos plan was brilliant....the GOP owes you a great debt of gratitude for it. Even you knew that the real Chaos was within the McCain-Palin campaign :)

Newsweek just confirmed that the GOP is turning on itself -- particularly within the McCain-Palin campaign. And now comedian Rush Limbaugh is joining in and aiming his verbal bullets at McCain for setting poor Sarah up as a target. McCain should have known that she was out of her league.

    It's all pure comedy...

  • Posted By: vstillwell @ 11/06/2008 12:25:49 PM

McCain's problem is he's a Republican. Plain and simple. He had to pander to a lunatic, extreme, fanatical, uninformed GOP base. When the informal leader of your base is Rush Limbaugh, you've got issues.

  • Posted By: samysamy @ 11/05/2008 11:43:16 AM

And...you are trying to report in an unbiased manner? Let's begin please to nit-pick all of the male presidential candidates' expenses of the past...I am sure you will find many unfavorable surprises. This kind of reporting is frankly sad, especially when you try to somehow make an issue about Palin not speaking at Mccain's concession speech...how many vice-presidential nominees have spoken at concession speeches in the past? And at acceptance speeches?...Because Joe Biden didn't seem to have been invited to utter a word... Give it a rest already!

Oh, no....let the Kaiser keep talking. That's what I love about the election this year; finally...FINALLY...just saying something a million times has stopped working. And incessantly repeating it in the face of evidence to the contrary only makes the comments more ludicrous. Let's let these xenophobes (I promise you, the Kaiser is still looking up the definition) keep talking. Flush 'em all out in the open once and for all so we can know them for who they are,.
