    i think it's stupid because most people voted for him because he is black they seem to think that their children & grandchildren will have a better life because he is in office but each everyone of them had a chance anyway to make a good life on before its just sad that so many only cared about it making history then whats best for this country he is muslim ! so many of you wanted him to get it because he says he is gonna stop the war have you people forgotten what happened on september the 11? because if our men and women the military hadn't made the sacrifices that they have they could have made other attacks on our country that is why they joined and the one that have died have died for our freedom god bless them ... and you think that it is good for him to stop our war ? as unfortanate as it is this who most of the our country for president i hope yall are happy with yourselfs cause you will regret it just give him time to screw up everything !

        I am a southeran male who has served one tour in Iraq and am going back I did not vote for PRESIDENT BARRACK OBAMA Buy being as the people spoke and he won I will support him 100 percent and pray for him and his family, it should not be a race game but a what will he do for this country I hope for the best, and remember the soldiers like me help you keep your freedom and the freedom of speech is in there. A very wise man said once that if you truly belive in the right of freedom of speech that it means that no matter how much you disagree with what someone says that you have to be willing to fight for their right to say it no matter how stupid or wrong it is.

    Legally, In most of America if your mother is white that is what they put on your birth certificate!!! We are Americans here not asian,mexican,or african.       Not so true. My great great grandma was native american and my great great grandfather was 70% black and 30% white. Based on the skin color of the children they are labeled that color! many slave masters raped black women but do to the color of some of the children they were considered black! If a white women has a child by a black man they child is labeled black because of the father. if this was not true the why was Bob Marley considered black when his father was white and his mom Jamacian?? Alicia Keys is consider black! Mariah Carie is considered black also. There is no real label for bi-racial children. So they have to chose where they fit in because some whites would consider them one race based on skin color! Some bi-raical people can past for being hispanic! So it's not a label blacks or bi-racial have a choice of though considered sellingout though!

    There have been some interesting comments after the election of the election of Sen.Obama. Senator Obama has done nothing more than to bridge the divide of racial inequality that has existed and separated this country for so long. It's sad that carmenincali would see the comments as she did. I'd be very curious to have seen the comments had Sen.McCain won the election. I truly believe the next administration will serve all of America well. Thankfully, most of the majority who elected Sen.Obama do not share these myopic beliefs of carmenincali. You should never seek to build up yourself at the expense of tearing someone else down. And at the same time I will not serve as the doormat to anyone's success.

Some elected Presidents tell the people what they want to hear and then do what they want to do. I quess time will tell !!!!     These are truly some interesting comments that come a day after Sen. Obama won the election by a landslide. Sen.McCain said it best at the end of his concession speech, "The American people have spoken and they have spoken clearly". It's hard to fathom that the majority of people who voted for Sen. Obama would share the same sentiments as carmenincali. Thankfully, I choose to believe that you can never build yourself up by tearing someone else down. However, I will not be a doormat to anyone's success.

    I think it is very disheartening that so many are rejoicing over the election of a "black man" as President. Shouldn't his supporters be placing more focus on the fact that a "good man" was voted into office? Black or white, they say, what is the difference? Once again, it's all about race...

      Obviously you aren't a black person. Neither am I. I can't begin to understand the pain and sorrow they've endured for years, and I can't begin to understand the joy they feel at FINALLY being vindicated. I voted for the man. Some may have voted for his color but I, and many many others, did not. Still, I can't ignore the fact that any president other than the standard WASP of the past speaks volumes as to how far this country has come. Hillary would have done the same.

      First off know the meaning! To be a racist is what??? It's to be against one's race. So since blacks voted for Obama they are racist??? How do you know there reason for voting for Obama anyway?? Though the turn out of many African American was large so was it for JFK,Bill Clinton,Al Gore, and John Kerry! These people are white with a better cause that not only help one group of people but all!

      You say this as if there wasn't so many whites that was voting against Obama because he was black??? As if it was 100% because he was inexperience though he is well educated and have good ideals and represent people of all colors! So many people like this man and that's why he won! Not just because blacks voted when they are a monority! Everybody voted who supported him. So this can be tow sided! Blacks could say the same for McCain by seeing some of the south votes where racial tention still exist! So your point is?? African Americans are proud because of change. I can tell you the personal feelings! It's the feeling that now you can see you are not judged based on color alone and see people are better than you may of thought before. If this wasn't true Obama would of lose by a landslide and only had the votes from minorities. So think of that! This is the feeling women would have if it was Hillary or palin who won! To see that finally a women has a chance to do somehting that high. So would there votes for these women be sexist?? I would say unfair if they had no real ideals but can understand there reason also. Also African Americans or anybody would not vote for who would not represent them just because! Come on now!

    As a Vietnam vet, a Democrat and a liberal, I am again proud to be an American, something I have not had much reason to say during the past eight years. I believe the Obama and Biden will put our nation back on course and restore it to its rightful place in the eyes of the world. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, will go down in U.S. history as the day the nation redeemed itself and was retrieved from the right-wing forces of darkness. I served my country so that intelligent, thoughtful, honest fellow citizens like Barack Obama and Joe Biden could run it in the best interests of all of us. The the nearly millions of people who voted for the Dynamic Dem Duo, all i can say is thank you. You helped restore my faith in the nation and out electoral system.

      I find it interesting that as a vietnam vet - you voted for the very party that created the debacle that was Vietnam. It was the democratic party along with the leftist media who created a sensationalistic and very distorted view. For the party that is "change" - isn't it interested that every place Barack held a victory party was in a place that had historic signifigance to racial issues. This man can't get past the color of his own skin but expects the country to work together. Interesting to see how he pulls this one out of his butt. For those of you who believe he is a man of ideas and change - look up his speeches - they are taken from other speechwriters from previous candidates and figures. The man can't even express himself on his own.

The tax structure proposed by Obama is not socialist and is less burdensom on the wealthy than that which existed throughout the 60s and 70s.
