    yeah and think about FDR, he wasnt in the military yet he helped revive the economy with acts such as social security and the new deal. And was a great strategist in WWII. and he was elected for 4 terms

    I'm a sixty-one year old military veteran. I served three tours in Vietnam and grew up during that time. I know from my life's experience that the people who elected Obama never served anyone or anything except themselves. I mourn for the country and countrymen I used to know and am consoled only by the hope that I don't live long enough to see the final fall of this once great country to the maw of socialism. The electorate apparently doesn't remember the horrors of Soviet Union type socialism. Obama represents exactly that ideology. The next four years are going to be very difficult and dangerous. We have elected a man with NO experience to run our country. Keep that in mind as screw-up follows screw-up. Also remember that these people never take responsibility for their errant actions. Expect massive blame to be cast on George Bush whenever they screw up.

      Sir: I tried to type this before. I am sorry for you. My father served in Korea, and Vietnam. My sister in Iraq as a Lt. Col., my oldest boy has also served three tours in Iraq, and all of them voted for Obama. My 78 year old mother did as well. I may be a single mom but sounds to me like you are a woman hating masogistic individual if you think emotions had anything to do with my vote, my fathers vote, my son's vote or the rest of my family's vote. And apparently you didnt read the post completely. I am a former Republican, out of a Democratic family, who decided enough was enough. Sorry if I didn't make my point.

My father, aged 77 voted for Obama, my sister, a LT Col. voted for Obama, my son, a Gunny in the Corps, voted for Obama, and my dear 78 your old mother, voted for Obama. I'm sorry, Sir, but you have lost your argument in my eyes. The people in my life that matter to me voted for change and all but my mom have served their country. I'm sorry you are bitter and angry.       Whoa, don't make those sweeping statements. My dad served in Vietnam in 1969 and voted for Obama, my brother served 8 years in the Navy and voted for Obama. They are both wonderful, honorable, corageous men I admire. I've never served in the military but I've done many many hours of community service...my friends are nurses and social workers...we all voted Obama. I just want to give people like you a hug and tell you it's all gonna be ok. It will! Just watch.

    This was an interesting article. I don't think that I will agree with most of President Obama's policies, but I think he will hold the office with the dignity it deserves. Perhaps I am picking up on his detached nature, which this article talks about. Even though I didn't vote for him, I am proud of Obama as a fellow American. He had the guts to do what noone thought was possible. I'd like to think that is very American.

    One of the biggest secrets to his win was the media influence on our young people. Almost an American Idol frenzy. Why is Obama touted as an African American when he is bi-racial? His he ashamed of his heritage or was this race really about race?

      Funny you say this! Some whites label him balck based on his skin color. How is Obama asshamed when he mentions his mother and grandparents who are white?? How can he forget them?? The media is the one's who don't mentioned them but gose on about Obama's father who he got his name from! So what you say is not all truth! African American are proud not because he was black only but feel now they have someone that represent them. This is no different than women backing Hillary or Palin because they are female. this is the first time a Minority is president. The same is for women being a VP. This year has open doors for many many not just blacks or women but everyone! This is an example of fair choice because everyone voted for Obama. black white etc!

    Senator Barack Obama won the presidential election because "God" felt the pain of his people???s suffering and heard their prayers for "CHANGE" and no one or anything could stop what has taken place. How I know because I prayed and He ???God??? heard me. Read Psalm 91:1-16. This is a divine appointment and has nothing to do with the color of skin but the sincerity of Barack Obama???s heart.

To preach what it is to be american or christian and feel that way make these people or groups hyprocrates and and GOD Bless them and us all! The world is not just black and white people! Face it!     It's all a matter of time. This is a Historic event that finally happened and should be celebrated but society has gone on too long with dealing with certain issues and not once a direct or solid reprimandation. Now, since our society is so lax, I can almost guarantee a lot of people are going to make it really tough. Many are going to announce their disappointments and it will not be pretty. Lets face it, it is the beginning of the end. Riots, tragedy, you name it. The vote results are going to set off some major disasters and the excuses will be waived. All we can do now is wait. The match has been lit to destruction. Just keep your television on the news channel.

    Since when does BEING IN THE MILITARY been a mandatory MUST to become the President of the United States. Is it not safe to say that Conservatives are obsessed with fixating Military service to Patriotism. People VOTED for Obama because he is intelligent, brave and has tremendous leadership skills. Who's to say that only because McCain was in the military he's up for the challenge of being the leader of this country. it's been PROVEN that McCain is NOT equiped for Presidency since this isn't his first time running and not his first time LOOSING. Liberalism has the great asset of ACCEPTANCE...progressivism. The only reason there are those radicals who are FAR left is because they are simply tired of all the crappy, narrow-minded, Religious blood sucking views and ways that have been placed in the Republican Party. J.F. Kennedy was YOUNG, and didn't have much experience...and when put up to the challenge he SUCCEEDED. Way better than George W. Bush did and better than McCain will ever think he can do.
    Truth is that for some reason Republicans vote for Republicans only because of the party and its conservative ways. I commend those Reps. who pushed their differences aside and chose Obama because they truley felt that he is the right choice. the reason EUROPE does so well is because of their LIBERALISM.
    I only hope that Conservatism dies out with the old and a new beginning will come with the YOUNG!!!!

        Something for you to ponder...FDR was never in the military, yet he is widely considered one of the best presidents of this country. He led us through WWII, one of the darkest, most trying times in history.

We have shown the world that we can be united in our need to bring America back to her Ideals. thank you all who helped bring our hope and Ideals back. I am a 62 year old white woman and never been prouder than today. America you have given me back my faith and hope in this great country. Those who voted for McCain ,He is a great man I truely respect. This is a time to work together to make our hope s come true . Obama just was Elected please lets give him a chance . Can we already be spreading negativity. Please watch c-span not retoric and commentaris be sure of your facts .lets spend this year growing together in purpose for our great country not tooting our partys horns . where have you been the last sixteen years surely you can see putting party instead of country first has caused many of our present problems
