This is a great day for all Americans! Regardless of your party - this is historic. The election is over now - the insults need to stop - and we all need to work together now. The American people have spoken - and democracy works!

Barry Obama is a crazy man. I can't believe he's gonna try to lead the county. I can see him getting in trouble for having too many people at the house partying, Or maybe P Diddy breaking something.

Obama elected. Stock market plummets on the news. Jews and Arabs start lobbing missiles at each other. And nothing in the press but more puff pieces. Cant wait for the press to turn. You know they will. Too bad the country already will be in ruins.

Some expose. What B****S***. In your effort to deify Obama you did inadvertantly point to something that I had always suspected. That black preacher cadence is as PHONEY and PUT ON as the rest of his campaign. Come on, he's from hawaii.

He did it because he was the better candidate and now he's our President elect.

Money, pure and simple. How else could someone win a presidential election with out ever going into real specifics about their plans? Compounded that with the fact that most Americas have a dislike for Bush (ignoring the fact that Congress is just as responsible, if not more), and you have formula for succes. Money rules elections, always has.......... Plus, promising the "simpletons" of our country the moon and shining some big bright lights in their eyes, always helps too.

This story was so intriguing, I wouldn't believe it, if I hadn't just lived through it. Just when I thought I couldn't admire Barack and Michelle Obama more, this glimpse into their personalities made them loveable. Even Hillary Clinton, who became a caricature of herself during the primaries, at least in my eyes, suddenly comes across as human, even relatable I can't wait to read the rest. It reads like ficton!

A gracious concession speech by McCain, the true McCain - too bad the true McCain has been missing for the past several months. Alas, it was not his time, his time was in 2000. McCain's problem - BUSH! Bush worst and dumbest EVER! He was never president over ALL the people of this fine country. If you want to be president of a country, you HAVE to be leader of ALL the people, not just the rich ones, not just the ones that look like you, and not just the ones of your political party. Personal goals were more important to Bush rather than being honest and good and moral. At any cost and using any corrupt means would that thick-skulled idiot use to reach HIS and Cheney's goals.

FINALLY, a positive future, something to look forward to! Now we can walk with our heads held high. Leadership we can trust and be proud of, something we have not been able to do for 8 long years. A good legacy to leave our children and grandchildren and generations to come. A legacy of promise, hope, and good-will is the story left behind from this election, not like the nightmare from the corrupt and idiotic Cheney/Bush Administration. Thank Goodness - what a glorious, happy, encouraging, and hopeful time! I only hope the Lord watches over and protects Obama for his safety. Unlike the 2004 election where the electoral vote put Bush in office, the results of this election is the PEOPLE'S choice. A positive feel in attitudes and a true breath of fresh air. The fact that most of the world agrees with the PEOPLE'S choice of this election should tell us something - the MAJORITY of us know what that is.

Obama is smooth talking and confident. It is obvious that is an intellectual. Being able to solve problems AND being able to communicate effectively are essential qualities of the President. I am glad he is able to transcend race, gender, age and party. This will make him an effective leader. He is already respected around the world. Unfortunately our current administration has lost that respect. I know Obama had a tough road ahead of him, but I think he's up to the job

If obama would have been a white man no one would have been aginst him being president, im a high school student and today at school so many african americans and whites had problems getting along because they dnt approve of a half black president and thats so wrong....at one point blacks were abused and mistreated in so many ways and now ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE and a change is what we got.

Obama simply MUST not allow the elixir of power and celebrity dim his vision of his purpose and the people he serves. A long talk with people like Billy Graham or Desmond Tutu might help him understand how important humility is as personal importance grows. Lincoln is another model; someone who took his rseponsibility very seriously and took himself much less so. I am 70 yo but my hopes for this young man and what he can do for the country are boundless. I could not go to bed last night until I had seen it all, then dreamed about it, then woke up only to review it again. Astonishing.

Great article! It is such a great day today in America being an American. The whole world was watching and they are now impressed that we Americans have found our way back from the dark times of the past 8 years.

I sensed 4 years ago a greatness in Barack that I had seen in John Kennedy when I was 8 and his brother Robert 8 years later. After his great convention speech I wondered why couldn't his guy be our candidate even though I was a Kerry supporter from the moment he declared his candidacy. Now 4 years later I am so gratified that I was not the only one to see the greatness in this incredible intelligent thoughtful caring man who is now our president elect. I anticipate great things for our country now as Barack Obama will work hard to fulfill his campaign promises.

    Yes We Did!

Will you actually report news when Obama and Biden screw up? Doubt it.
