Hi Pia, I dislike him for several reasons, I'll mention one. Though Sen. Reid voted to go to Iraq, he made the statement that "the war is lost in Iraq" while troops were there trying to do their jobs. Iraq Mishandled by Rumsfeld? Yes. Lost, no. In addition to being the most divisive statement Reid could have made, it was disheartening for the troops, and probably the worst is that is statements like that clearly emboldens the enemy. Irresponsible at best, IMO.

Not at all... when not flying charter, I like doing things most people do. Movies, theater, dinner, time with friends. I also have part interest in a martial arts studio, but no longer teach. I fly a light plane on weekends... when the weather is reasonable!

You do lead an excting life, Vypurr. Of course, you are a pilot...I like flying too....I once hired a Cessna to fly above my property so I could take photos before I had my home built. The pilot let me fly the plane for about ten minutes. I had a blast! In conclusion, I love to fly...in more ways than one. Martial arts= very interesting-my 15 year old nephew in martial arts. Not all that exciting... though I guess some would think so. I didn't feel that way when I was furloughed from a major airline for months... anyway, I'm where I belong now. There's nothing quite like flying, as you have experienced! You should take lessons!
Our studio mainly teaches Taekwondo. It's the most popular form of martial arts. I no longer teach as my joints complain more than I'd like. lol! Like your nephew, I started when I was young... unfortuanately, most kids will not stay with it. I may have spoke a little out of turn about my "fluent Italian." My grandmother was Italian and all but forced me to learn the language. I can speak Italian, but have trouble writing it as I don't get to do so very often. I especially have trouble with the diacritics and accents.
I know this hasn't been political... so, how about I say I don't like Harry Reid and Joe Biden is right about his "six month prediction" lol-

My Grandmother was from the Siena area of Tuscany. Taekwando is much like any other extreme exercise, it can be hard on the joints of people in their 40's and 50's. My sitting in long periods of time in airplanes don't help....

However I'm very ashamed at the American People that they chose a man who isn't a Christian, who doesn't stand for God which let me remind you is what this country was found on. Ok all you naysayers...the reason Obama won is because AMERICA wanted it. Not because of ACORN, voter fraud (like in Bush's two elections), the color of his skin, private contributions from "terrorists" (guess I'm a terrorist), fancy speeches, or whatever else you guys are trying to claim. He won because America is tired of fear, oppression, and hate. That is not America. America is about working together for a common goal, enjoying the best opportunities, and being the land of the free and brave. I find this insight into the campaigns delightful. It is almost like being there -- the ups and downs, the hesitation and the growth of the candidates as they battle with theirselves. I don't see Barack in a battle with others so much as with his own personality. It is a calling that you have to give everything too and then some. I could not do it. You have to be some kind of super human or ego to put up with the gruelling work of it all. You either really want power or you really want to serve and make a difference.

I'll have to say that I did think about your conspiracy theory during this last part of the election. What if the Democratic Party talked AIG into folding, knowing that they would bail them out, so that they could swing this election around?
What if, in 1976, the Republicans arranged to have the captives in the Middle East held captive until Reagan was in office?
What if Biden, who said that Obama was not experienced enough to lead, joined forces because he thought that some white supremacist group would assassinate Obama, making Biden the President?
What if we put all of this behind us, wish out new leader well (regardless of who we voted for - I voted McCain), and try to work together. What if we cut out all the talk about race and learn to overlook skin color? What if we learn to respect each other and stop trying to erase Christainity from our country and it's history?
What if the nasty words, gloating, bemoaning and general complaining from both sides in eliminated. It's what Obama says he wants.How about his followers? -

Fascinating... It's not possible to compare Obama to anything previous. Speculation like that is the hobgoblin of small minds. These are fresh times and new days. I understand Republican anger. Conservatism has been delivered a fatal blow. All the arguments from the right are just white noise. It's like trying to win a war on jealousy. None of them can believe it because of the sense of entitlement conservative god fearing Republicans have. Now they'll have more fish to fry in the form of verbally assaulting everything Barack does. First of all Conservatism has not been delivered a fatal blow. The nation as a whole spoke out against George Bush, not the Republican Party of conservatism as a whole. And then you throw in the race card. Where does this come from? Many white Republicans, Democrats and Independents voted for a black man without regard to his skin color. And, many blacks voted for Obama simply because he was black. That's more in line with being racist. Those of us that voted for McCain did it because we believe in the man and his policies, maybe not completely, but more than we did in Obamas.

Now ask yourself this, is the economy better off now under a republican administration than it was under Clinton's? So since Obama started backing off on his promises on election night, how am I "contorting" his views. All of sudden he says that it is going to be too tough to do all the things he was promising just days before the election. Things in America got that bad on election day? No, It was when he got the job and realized he had promised the world to everyone that he started to dumb down the expectations for his administration. Why don't you try that at your next job interview. Tell the boss how great you are and then when they offer you the job say "Psych!" I'm not really going to be able to do what I have been telling you. I didn't vote for him because he is a snake-oil salesman. He broke his word on campaign finance so he could get 600 million dollars from who? If you say it was from americans then America is not in a recession if they have that much to give to one person. The economy is the worst it has been in 70 years because we took the bait from the Muslim extremists and initiated a war that had nothing to do with 9/11, it was all about the Bush family's pride, We are broke, the laughing stock of the world and desperately in need of reform. Can Obama provide that reform. He was certainly the best candidate that stood and he has already improved our world standing by garnering support from most world leaders, but only time will really tell. He was and is our best option to pick this country up and put it back on its feet.
