    40YearR or NEOS

Get your facts straight. Nc Cain wanted re-reugulation in 2005 as did all but 17 republicans that dem lobbyists rallied to their side to squash re-regulation. Dodd Kerry, Frank and Obama led the democratic charge and by the way received the most money from Fannie and Freddie. In 2002, Bush wanted re-regulation but could not muster enogh votes to get anywhere As far as donations don't kid me or yourself that Obama didn't get a lot of money from lobbyists, George Soros, Warren Buffett and a host of other wealthy people he will beholdong to once in office. He is not a savior or a knight come to save the day he is a liberal tax and spend democrat and that should become apparent very soon..,

Very old debunk of your much older Obama birth certificate lie:

Where Obama was born and his birth certificate: http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html

You changed that smear many times along the way. It's not sealed. Photos of it are posted for all to see.

You're going to have to come up with a more believable lie.

America is the real winner. Young white people really helped the world. Our government will be strong in the future. We must all do our best for our great nation.

  • Posted By: John Dough @ 11/05/2008 9:20:54 PM

I did not say he wasn't born in the USA but if you are born here and list another country for citizenship then you cannot be president. Why seal it for 25 years if it is on the up and up produce it.

    Ro in Reno:

I don't know where you got your phony numbers the poverty level is about where it always has been since johnson saddled us with the welfare state it is 9% not 28% percent.
Our health care is number ONE in the world we may rank lower in coverage but no one has better care then we have here. Our 27th ranking in newborn survival has a lot to do with our smoking, drug and alcohol use and underage/under developed girls getting pregnant not on lack of pre-natal care. Many women who had previous abortions also suffer complications when they decide to have a baby. The war costs you quote are misleading too since the soldiers would still be in the military getting paid, eating , being housed health care etc.. Beyond the human cost re-supply is the main cost of the wars and it is far less then the numbers you quote.

John Dough: Folks donated money to Obama, rather than those who were trying to buy influence, like the Rs did by giving those millions in lobbyist fees to Rick Davis.

No money left in 401k's because the lobbyist paid to McC's campaign manager kept the capital funds from being regulated.

Impatience with Bush? Feeling like a victim? What was that second term about while $10 billion/mo. is being spent on Iraq, when Bush and his neocon friends told us all it would be a short war and "pay for itself".

Form of denial: Compulsion to blame others for one's own failures.

  • Posted By: John Dough @ 11/05/2008 9:03:06 PM

Why is Obama's birth certificate sealed for twenty-fvie years. It is a public record and should be available for all to see. He claims to be an open transparent candidate then un-seal it and produce it. It is quite likely if he was born in Hawaii his citizenship is not listed as an U.S. Citizen making him unable to run or serve as president. The US Supreme Court should intervene. If he violated the constitution he should be removed and Biden put in his place - that is even scarier!!!

    ObamaGirl#15:

You must be under twenty. Mc Cain was in the house when Obama was a junior in college. The level of experience isn't even close. Mc Cain has that hands down. Although he was successful in winning the election he had 5 times the money to spend on his broken promise to use public money like Mc Cain promised and did yet he nly won by 1.5% of the vote. That certainly is no mandate and he better control this liberal wild ispending congress. You may want to take your money out of your 401K's too the dems want to make them federal accounts like SSI and pay three percent on them and pocket the rest of your interest for the lowly. That way when you retire the lifetime poor and non-working will have what you have - nothing. Pelosi also wants to tax Roth IRA's too. That would result in double taxation of this money. (Roth's are after tax dollars and are not to be taxed upon drawing the funds)They have never seen a dollar of someone else's they don't want to take and spend on their constituents.

  • Posted By: John Dough @ 11/05/2008 8:44:04 PM

Why should we be patient with Obama no one showed any patience for Bush. If he doesn't deliver as promised then media should blitz him just like they did Bush. Yeah right llike that is going to happen. If he breaks his promises and raises taxes spending and fails to deliver the media better go after him or their bias will be showing again. If he lies breaks his promises then he should be sent packing next election

  • Posted By: ObamaGirl#15 @ 11/05/2008 7:40:09 PM

obama is more successfual and has more experience than McCain

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 11/05/2008 8:38:41 PM

Yes! And he proved it last night by winning in a landslide!

  • Posted By: TalkSoup @ 11/05/2008 6:02:44 PM

No need to worry. I'm sure Obama will keep all his promises. At least he'll do as well as bush did or McCain would have.

    • Posted By: mrzoid @ 11/05/2008 6:07:45 PM

This isnt a freaking utopia man, no president will ever keep all their campaign promises. Obama will do some of the stuff he said he would try to do, but not a majority. That said, i'm very satisfied with the election result.

      • Posted By: wilsan @ 11/05/2008 6:13:45 PM

mrzoid, I will leave it to you as to whether or not you should be 'satisfied' with Obama. I think politicians (I am one) should be held accountable for "Saying what they will do, and then doing what they say".

Elsewise, you are just believing spin.

        • Posted By: Kboogie @ 11/05/2008 6:35:55 PM

I agree. McCain should be held accountable for voting against the Civil Rights Act of 1990. He should be held accountable for voting AGAINST the Equal Pay Act for Women. He should be held accountable for being the only head of state that voted AGAINST the MLK holiday. He should be held accountable for saying that the Confederate flag is a "symbol of heritage", just to appease South Carolinians.

          I totally agree w/ you.

              Are you serious?

Weighing McCain's actual legislative record on the equality of Americans, w/ questionable associations that have nothing to do w/ Obama's voting record........?

Please tell me you gest.............!!!!! And you're a politician?!?! For what.....your local HOA. Gimme a break, kiddo.

I'll take those "questionable" associations over McCain's obvious view for the people of this country, ANYDAY!!

OMG!!!! Please say you're not serious.........oh god...... Thank goodness your breed is no longer the majority.

              No offense!!!

J....H. C......... "wilsan"! I've been sitting here scatching my head about how delusional some of the bloggers here are.

Now you tell us YOU'RE A POLITICIAN?!?!?!?!?!

No wonder you're so suspicious of deceit, distortion and misrepresentation.

          The condition is called: projection.

          Or, delusions of grandure.....

Anybody wanna lay a few bets?

How'd you do in the election, by the way?.....

          • Posted By: wilsan @ 11/05/2008 6:31:07 PM

            Quite well, thank you.

I have a problem though; I worked for over 30+ years in the Corporate world. i believe in honesty, ethics, principles, and hard work. And I'll say it again:

'Say what you are going to do, the do what you say". That got me re-elected yesterday.

But that is not my point. If you let it be known that you can be lied to, then you WILL be lied to... Be it by politicians like Obama, or be it by the Tank Media like Newsweek.

            Your choice, folks.

        • Posted By: mrzoid @ 11/05/2008 6:20:35 PM

Quick origin of the word politician; it is derived from the latin words polis and tician, polis translating into "full of sh*t" and tician translating into "man who is full of". Ok, thats not true, but it might as well be, cause it's valid.

          • Posted By: wilsan @ 11/05/2008 6:24:47 PM

            Thank you.

That added immeasurably to the quality of the conversation.

Hey obamacons congrats your man has won so whats next? On the stump obama repeated his montra lets go change the nation and the world again and again, ok he's got a good change if he plays his cards right to change a few things in this country, but the world? I think a billion Chinese, a resurgent Russia, another billion or so in India, hostile muslims, and an arrogant europe, though throwing around praise now might have somthing to say about that, no man not even an American President can change this world the best he can hope to do is keep it from being to stupid and only out of fear of reprisal not empty rhetoric.

  • Posted By: wilsan @ 11/05/2008 5:32:15 PM

Geez... Here goes Newsweek ALREADY spinning falsehoods for Obama.

Can Newsweek do ANYTHING that is not "In the Tank for Obama"? Can these people tell ANYTHING that is not a lie?

Time for Newsweek to go out of business - make room for some REAL journalistic magazines, not propaganda for a politician.

    • Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/05/2008 5:46:33 PM

Gee "wilsan", after all those anonymous viral smear emails, you're upset with the legitimate media? That's the biggest problem that's been going on???

Since you're certain that he's going to f'up, why not just sit back and let him do it, rather than try to be the cause?

Er, ah, if you do, I promise not to remind you what's been going on the last 8 years...

      • Posted By: wilsan @ 11/05/2008 5:55:53 PM

You mean that you think Newsweek is 'legitimate' media? Well, each to their own opinion. You must be a Democrat.

A "Legitimate" media would be aware of the need for balance in reporting in a Presidential election. A "legitimate" media would approximate the number of articles to be equal about each major candidate. A "Legitimate " media would balance out the negative & the positive. A "Legitimate" media would focus on ISSUES in a Vice President, not go looking for a back alley 'story' of dirt. Newsweek did none of this. Newsweek is not even ashamed of their lack of journalistic ethics.

I am posting on Newsweek only because my favorite site has a link to this article. I would not spend a penny on this rag, and I routinely encourage others to spend their money on news sources with ethics.

        • Posted By: mrzoid @ 11/05/2008 5:58:40 PM

Honest question: what publication would that be? I mean, which one is your publication?

          • Posted By: wilsan @ 11/05/2008 7:07:01 PM

mrzoid... I am not sure if I understand your question. Most of my news sources are online, website based. As stated above, RCP is my most favored but far from only source.

I would guess that you stick with Newsweek... Bad mistake, mrzoid. This rag is in financial trouble, and it's reporting is slanted and biased so much as to be useless. Try the WaPo site - at least, they get SOME balance. I think WaPo owns Newsweek, so you'll keep some flavor of this rag.

        • Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/05/2008 6:06:25 PM

We all want to get squared away just like you.

C'mon "wilsan" we shared with you. Besides, you have the same obligation to make the world a better places as everyone else. Plus, you're a politician, so you're professionally obligated too....

              Sure 40yearD

Try Real Clear politics. But, can YOU handle the Truth?

RCP presents BOTH sides of issues. And, they focus on Issues. For every Newsweek there is a US & News Report article... And a number of other sites...

There ya go. And, err, um... I doubt that you are a 40 year Republican. You are too arrogant & condescending... you gotta be a Obama democrat.

              LOL !

The Republican party of hate just can't deal with a President elect that is intellegent. They were unable to deal with the cool collected, look before you leap Obama campaign and can't cope with it now.

Not to worry, your puppeteers are working hard to bring you the next set of marching orders.

Hannity and Morris to the rescue. They will pump you up with the only thing that comforts one of you mouth-breathers, HATE.

They will tell you not to blame hate, hate didn't lose us this election, hate is good, hate will work.

Say it with me, HATE! HATE! HATE!. Louder, HATE! HATE! HATE!. That's it HIEL oops, I meanT HATE! HATE! HATE!tthat's it! Don't you feel better now?

    • Posted By: Pocolodi @ 11/05/2008 11:14:31 AM

I see you have no trouble spewing your part of promoting discord and hatred. The only thing missing from your diatribe is your disgusting and often used "mouth breather" label.

You make us all feel so much better.

      • Posted By: Bass Pro @ 11/05/2008 12:31:55 PM

You would suggest that the hate go unanswered, ala Al Gore and John Kerry? Not now not ever again. The Republicans are out and on the decline, as it should be. if you are offended by the insults I heap on Limbaugh, Hannity and Morris and those who buy into it, what does that say about you?

        • Posted By: Kboogie @ 11/05/2008 1:15:32 PM

I can't wait to watch the next edition of Hannity & Colmes!! I wonder if he has any new material...

          Should be interesting.......

            I like Alan Colmes.

            • Posted By: Kboogie @ 11/05/2008 5:34:54 PM

Me too. But his voice/presence isn't strong enough to counter Hannity's. We needed a stronger liberal voice to cool the fire which was spewing from Hannity's hate-filled lips.

I couldn't believe the anger and divisiveness that he was trying to create. It kept me watching, though. I guess it appealed to the lowest common denominator of the human spirit...like Jerry Springer!! HAHAHA!

              • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 11/05/2008 7:03:53 PM

I know, Alan is too nice. I wish just once, he'd deck Hannity the racist!

          • Posted By: Bass Pro @ 11/05/2008 2:04:39 PM

            I think it's called Colmes & hannity now !

          • Posted By: Hannah B @ 11/05/2008 1:24:24 PM

Actually, probably not. Someone as hatefilled as Hannity will never change. He will never see the world like we do because he doesn't want to. There are none so blind as those who will not/refuse to see.

        • Posted By: Pocolodi @ 11/05/2008 4:39:19 PM

It might just be time to quit adding to the dissonance, and to give a tug at the yoke that we all need to start pushing against as a team.

      Think about it anyway.

      • Posted By: Bass Pro @ 11/05/2008 11:17:15 AM

Nothing to think about Charlie. I appreciate what you're saying but if you think the Republican Hate machine is going to shut down, just tune into Fox news this evening or read a Hannity, Greta, Limbaugh or Morris blog. I'm not railing against those that have legitimate policy difference with the Democrats. hell' I'm a right to lifer, but i am directing my ire against those who preach the hate and those who join in the refrain. A constant pressure on those hate purveyors is the only way to defeat them.

"51 year republican",My image of attending a protestant parochial school in the late 50s is being told over and over and over that: Behind every bush there is the Devil, a Communist, or a Catholic, wanting to leap out and grab me!!!

The ideology hasn???t changed, the practice hasn???t changed. Just the targets that we are obliged to fear???and hate???and revile.

Don???t live in a closet of horribles and fear, and don???t want to. This paranoid hate and fear has got to go. The neocon fantasies ought to go, or be kept on the margin where they are and belong.

Perhaps the moderates in the Republican party will no longer stand aside and allow ourselves to be shouted down by those who are supposed to be in the same party; the party I joined 40 years ago but which got hijacked somewhere along the way.

We???ll all do better to think about ???how to???.

      • Posted By: wilsan @ 11/05/2008 5:39:53 PM

That's the trouble with liberals; They confuse propaganda with 'truth'. Of course, in January that will be accurate...

But, err, um, is that "Journalism".

        • Posted By: mrzoid @ 11/05/2008 5:45:52 PM

There really isn't any journalism anymore. Journalism is the unbiased, unemotional, portraial of raw facts; "news" in the contemporary sense, is simply commentary. This is the case on both sides. Sean Hannity, not a journalist. Keith O, not a journalist. Rush, not a journalist. Lou Dobbs, not a journalist. Accept it man, the era of Cronchite is dead and gone. We're left to go out and find the commentary we prefer; go find yours.

          • Posted By: wilsan @ 11/05/2008 6:38:25 PM

If that is the case, and you may be on to something, then these organizations should be tagged as 527's and regulated as such. I have no problem with 'opinion' - i don have a problem with the CNN's of the world passing opinion off as news.
