      Good afternoon neos

    • Posted By: Hannah B @ 11/05/2008 1:27:27 PM

Oh, you again. I am soooooo glad that we are in this place today ... the day you so righteously deserve.

  • Posted By: ariziowa @ 11/05/2008 3:54:10 PM

I'm not worried - now newsweak will, well probably not, knowing that magazine - really has to analyze osama's presidency. I assume, as always, they will give him a free pass.

    • Posted By: Hannah B @ 11/05/2008 4:15:21 PM

Oh my, do I detect a hint of bitterness? Well, get over it ... we've endured your nightmare of a president now we can try ours on for, let's say, the next 8 years.

      • Posted By: ariziowa @ 11/05/2008 4:37:14 PM

I didn't vote Bush, Jr. I certainly didn't vote for Gore, either! I trust John McCain, do not trust osama! Yes, you won, get over it - hope you have an endzone that you are doing dances in. You are a very poor winner - have you heard of Karma?

        • Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/05/2008 4:46:27 PM

"ariziowa", Stop messin' with my girl!

  • Posted By: forte88 @ 11/05/2008 11:40:18 AM

So where's LoriW? Her quote "Indiana will never vote Obama" I'd love to hear her comment for once. But she may go on another "baby killer" rant.
And no spam from "nowforthetruth"? It is a glorious day indeed!

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 11/05/2008 4:46:08 PM

I haven't seen loriw in a while I know she was pissed because Newsweek deleted her posts but that was a week or two ago.

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 11/05/2008 12:23:24 PM

Even Indiana wouldn't have helped McCain. I hope loriw will be able to move on and accept Obama as her president. She voted for him in the primaries.

Things seem to be on right road to Bipartism. Today, newly Elected Democratic Senators and Congresspersons have vowed to "CROSS THE ISLE". Actually they can't avoid it. The seats they won from the Republicans are located there.

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 11/05/2008 4:34:39 PM

      Good One Bass LOL!

    • Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/05/2008 3:35:02 PM

"Bipartism"....good word Bass Pro, good word...

      • Posted By: Bass Pro @ 11/05/2008 3:42:49 PM

Now be good, one never ever wants to point out typos or misspelled words here. You know there's alway a chance that I've stumbled onto a seldom used word here.

        • Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/05/2008 4:06:47 PM

Bass Pro, I???ve always subscribed to the notion that if Shakespeare could invent 800 words, we???re all entitled to a few ourselves. I think I???m observing false modesty, and your earlier posts support that. Bipartism is an excellent word. I will use it.

          • Posted By: Bass Pro @ 11/05/2008 4:09:53 PM

Please, not until i'm finished with it.

Deal, PB. I hope the Oxford English Dictionary gives you credit. I will.

  • Posted By: Bass Pro @ 11/05/2008 4:18:27 PM

40 YearR, Who were the ones who hijacked your party?

    • Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/05/2008 4:36:05 PM

Golly Bass Pro, I've been reveling in all (relatively) the positive (relatively) discourse, and would prefer not to ignite more gargoylian retorts, but yours is a good question.

I saw the repub party primarily as moderate, practical thinkers. William F. Buckley had chased out the extremists or had marginalized them. Since then, religiofascism, the neocons, and those who managed to push Reagan minimalist governmental regulation to the point of no effective regulation, is a good start. Nixon had his own operatives, but the moderates chased him out once he was exposed. The party "loyalists" seem to have lost their willingness to apply skeptical objectivity to what was done and what is. Then, who \ever has bought into the propaganda practice, and there seem to be many, have gone waaaay too far for anyone who wants to be a moderate. Just think, without them in control, would we have had a Sarah Palin?

  • Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/05/2008 4:13:37 PM

"arizowa": A guy can dream, can't he? Ya know, from a few glimmers in some of your posts, I'm thinkin' that you might be open minded enough to get aboard (maintaining vigilence all the way, 'course) and see if you can help us all along and yourself too. Jes' thinkin'...

  • Posted By: varacefan @ 11/05/2008 3:57:57 PM

Is there any truth to the rumor that Obama's 2012 team is wanting the voting to start next Tuesday?

  • Posted By: ariziowa @ 11/05/2008 3:56:09 PM

My goodness, 40YearR - are you just here to meet chicks?

  • Posted By: ariziowa @ 11/05/2008 3:48:43 PM

Well, being a poor winner is worse than being a poor looser. Gloat all you wish to "Kboobie"?? Now it on you - produce!

    • Posted By: Kboogie @ 11/05/2008 3:54:31 PM

Lighten up, kiddo. The main point was to encourage HEALTHY DIALOGUE. The rest was playful.

BTW, production has never been a stranger.

Don't forget....HEALTHY DIALOGUE. It only works if you get over your anger first, though, just trying to help.

    • Posted By: Hannah B @ 11/05/2008 3:54:27 PM

Since the bar has been set soooooo loooooow by the current administration, it shouldn't be that difficult to do. Just about anything and everything will be a BIG improvement.

  • Posted By: Jaray24 @ 11/05/2008 2:36:30 PM

I hope one of the things Obama's Presidentcy won't be like as with his campaign, is the deep pockets and the money that was spent. As the President that is our (American Peoples) money.

Pay off the Nations debt with the military supplies from Iraq and Afganistan as we leave. Of course take out senstive technology

    • Posted By: Hannah B @ 11/05/2008 3:46:02 PM

Jaray, his campaign $ was donated by people like me who believed in his vision for the future. We freely donated it to him to use the best way he could to win his campaign FOR US. Obviously he knew what he was doing. I also think he knows the difference between that $ and the country's $ that should be spent prudently.

    • Posted By: sledet @ 11/05/2008 3:45:22 PM

The money Obama spent on the campaign was the earmarked fund his supporters have trusted him to use to win the nomination. I doubt he would use American people money to win support. as a president (beside, who spent hundreds of thousands on vanities?). There is no more luxury, he needs to work hard to fix the shabby economy.

With thanks to Nins, I'm pasting one of his:

Gosh, just think, life without Lori and NowforthePoop!

HolyRoller, however, is an American fixture. Shrinking in size, but still present in all his/her evil ignorance. That's okay. Let's give the devil it's due, and say a big THANK YOU to Holy Roller for those nasty hate-filled posts. That probably swayed more people to vote for Obama than I did with my well research blogs. Hey, whatever works.

    God bless HolyRoller and Lori.

Penance, though, for NowfortheTruth, who knowingly lied thorough his teeth without one shred of belief in what he wrote. At least Lori brainwashedly believed what she said.

MANY REAL THANKS to Pia, KBoogie, Neos, 40YearR, Summer, VoteNow, NewsWkDick, SJPersonal and all the regular bloggers for Obama, with a special shout out to the former Hillary supporters:

    Yes, WE DID.

Aw thanks for the compliment! Last night was a truly great moment in this country...for the first time in my adult life, I was proud of America. (I can actually say this in context because I'm 26...my entire "adult life" has been spent under Bush and his terrible policies!!) I get goosebumps and smile every time I think of what this means...Americans can always be counted on to rise to the occasion when the chips are down.

"summer", You're way ahead of the rest of us. You seem to break the rule: wise too late...

Ya got a good 'un, summer. Pass it on...

      • Posted By: Bass Pro @ 11/05/2008 3:37:52 PM

Your last sentence shows you were already proud of your country.. Your proudness just jumped up a few notches.

  • Posted By: Kboogie @ 11/05/2008 3:38:26 PM

    Good afternoon all!!

Congrats to ALL Americans!! The best man, w/ the best policies, that 53% of Americans feel they'll benefit from, has won!!

The last 10 months has been, both, exciting and fun. It has gotten ugly at times, and I DO APOLOGIZE TO THOSE THAT I MAY HAVE OFFENDED. It seems that evolution hasn't caught up w/ that aspect of our animalistic nature, yet.

Although the election of Obama has been historic in EVERY sense of the word, it will not cure the divisiveness that exists in America. ONLY healthy dialogue between the parties, between cultures, between financial classes, and between our races will free us from the obvious disconnect we all have between each other.

    Again.........HEALTHY DIALOGUE!!!!

Now, time to gloat!!! I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!

    GOBAMA!!!

  • Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/05/2008 2:07:23 PM

Succeeding through the gauntlet of the election, is one indication that Obama has the capacity to get through most.

My impression is that Obama will prove to be a pragmatist, with vision.

If we should have learned nothing else, we must have observed that things haven't been going well lately, nor have things gone as we were told they would. I'm ready to move forward.

I just hope we don't shoot ourselves in our own foot by narrow minded self-defeating opposition.

How do you cry when u see Rev Jackson cry?? Was he found not guilty again of a acrime he committed!! What a stupid comment.. The guy is a crook and a shake down artist!!! Nice to see people put alot of thought into there comments!!

    • Posted By: Enigma2008 @ 11/05/2008 12:17:29 PM

On this day only, let's give Jesse Jackson a break. I can assume that the drama and impact of the moment took him, maybe against his current embodiment, back to his days as Rev. King's deputy in all of their struggles before he became THE Jesse Jackson. Wouldn't this occasion bring the memories flooding back, wishing that King couild have seen this end to his dream for his country? Even old misdirected warriors can be overcome by memories of the battles and glory of youth.

I didn't imagine that I would be affected emotionally and after 10 I knew that the win was certain, but at 11 when the election was called, before I knew it I was in tears that I couldn't stop. How much more does Jackson deserve to enjoy his tears for his years in the trenches?

      Have a heart.

      • Posted By: Mike0677 @ 11/05/2008 12:54:52 PM

Have a heart !! The guy is a criminal and has done nothing but shake people down and undermine the way people think about Revs in this countrty! He should be in jail with his other shake down artist Sharpton!! Jessie want to "chop off Obama's nuts if you remember now hes crying?? Come on this guys a Fraud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        • Posted By: summer4077 @ 11/05/2008 1:58:34 PM

Hey, I'm a white woman and I was definitely elated and tearing up last night. I can't even imagine what it must feel like for an older black man who has went through desegregation, racism, hatred, etc to see this finally happen. It's a special moment for all of us, black and white, but I'm not going to pretend it doesn't hit closer to home with blacks, rightfully so.

        • Posted By: Hannah B @ 11/05/2008 1:16:39 PM

Speaking of criminals, I can't wait to see the Bush/Cheney clan swept out of OUR country's capital. Now that will be a "GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!"

  • Posted By: TalkSoup @ 11/05/2008 1:32:04 PM

I can't belive the hatred and racism spewed here.
Obama is NOT a terrorist, Not a muslim (shouldn't matter if he were), He is NOT a communist.

His middle name doesn't make him a Muslim extremist. Do you assume every man named Charles will act the same as Charles Manson? Will every man named Jeffery act like Dalmer?

The lies and fear mongering have to stop already.

    Grow up people!

Will the economy be in trouble for a while ?- Yes.
If you haven't notioced, it's already i a major hole (not his fault) and it will take time to fix this, no matter who is leading the country.

    • Posted By: Hannah B @ 11/05/2008 1:41:17 PM

You are sooooo right. It took GWB 8 years to get us into this mess ... fixing it sure won't happen over night. Especially once the wingnuts start raggin' on him every minute of every day. They lost BIG TIME. Get over it already!!!!!!!!

Sing Along to the Music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkZdoPaBdG4&feature=related

The odds were a hundred to one against him
The world thought the heights were too high to climb
But people from Missouri never incensed him
Oh, he wasn't a bit concerned
For from hist'ry we have learned
How many, many times the world had turned

They all laughed at Christopher Columbus
When he said the world was round
They all laughed when Edison recorded sound
They all laughed at Wilbur and his brother
When they said that man could fly

    They told Obama
his ideas of change were phony
    It's the same old cry
They laughed at him wanting our votes
Said he was reaching for the moon
But oh, how we came through
Now they'll have to change their tune

They all said his base was just too scrappy
They laughed at us and how!
    But ho, ho, ho!
Who's got the last laugh now?

Those of us who put a little of our money into Barack's campaign have known for several weeks that Rahm Emanuel would likely be President Obama's Chief of Staff. That appointment will assure the Jewish vote in 2012. in 2012 and iff Vice President Biden doesn't run again, you can bet Rahm will take the job. He is already the 4th anking Democrat in Congress and only 48 years old. For my money, literaly speaking, I put him right there with Barack. His main interest is in families just as Barack's is. The campaign let it out of the bag early to counter the claim by McCain supporters like Joe the Plumber that Barack would e bad for Israel. No elected representative rivals Rahm's reputation as a protector of Israel.

Rahm is a very "green fellow" to and has a high regard of T. Boone Pickens and his natural gas proposals.

If you love Barack, you'll also love Rahm. In 2016 Rahm will only be 56 and don't be suprised if he succeeds Barack as President. The country is now in such good hands and has finally been rescued from a regime and a party only interested in ruling not governing.
