"Comment: SexiGelRox - You blame Obama for alleged comments you heard in your town? Who are you trying to fool? Your a a biggot who does a lousy job at hiding it. How can you deny the positive impact this may have in fostering better race relations? Have you been living in a hole your entire life? (PS - No I am not even remotely African American)."

Actually I'm not a biggot at all, nor am I racist. I'm just stating that this country is what it is. They are not alleged comments either, they are comments spoken to me right after someone said "mccain can take his white ass back to where he came from". This country is not as progressive as we think we are, b/c if we were the color of someone's skin wouldn't have mattered. There is a reason that 96% of african-americans voted for him, and you can't tell me they all believed in his opinions, because there's a lot of people that I talk to still don't know what he stands for even though they voted for him!

There are actually welled informed African Americans that voted for Obama because of his policies, not his skin color. Did the black vote come through for Clinton because of his skin color? How about the bloc of black voters that voted for Reagan? Get your facts straight or at least do some research before spewing stereotypes.

FYI clinton and reagen didn't get 96% of the african american vote!

        • Posted By: Doc Howl @ 11/06/2008 2:14:04 PM

Okay, what percentages did they get? Be prepared to back up your answer.

          • Posted By: SexiGelRox @ 11/06/2008 3:39:32 PM

Well only 8% of blacks voted for Reagan, and 81% voted for Clinton. Like I said not 96%!

Niether Clinton or Reagan was running the term after GWB and his administration failed so many blacks in New Orleans. If it had been Hillary instead of Obama, it would have been the same result.

              • Posted By: SexiGelRox @ 11/06/2008 8:16:30 PM

Bush failed those of New Orleans? I think it had more to do with the moron running the town not listening to the people telling him the levees were going to break. And then the looting had little to do with Bush, and more to do with the moral fabric of those that were left there. The national guard was there to do the best that they could.

                • Posted By: live.laugh.love. @ 11/06/2008 11:49:16 PM

Mayor Nagen was left to take the blame for what happened in New Orleans. It was actually the governor, Blanco, who is a Democrat and has since stepped down, who waited until too late to start evacuating people. Because the people of New Orleans had a "boy how cried wolf" syndrome (the previous hurricane alerts that turned out not to even hit NO), many people decided to wait it out. She put the blame on Nagen for not making the call and bowed out, when it was actually her responsibility. Bush was also in the mix, he traveled there and met with the two. Nagen wasn't a moron, and I'm inclined to say that Blanco should have had much better judgment as a leader of the state. You should watch Spike Lee's documentary, "When the Levees Broke" if you haven't seen it yet. It was excellent. Also you should travel down there and talk to people who went through it all. They will tell exactly what happened to them and why black people don't blindly blame Bush and his administration for the aftermath of Katrina.

I went to New Orleans to find out the truth about what went on there, a research tour so to say. Those "looters" you are talking about were the unsung heroes of victims left behind. They were drug dealers and felons and the hoodlums you would see out on the corners at night. The same scum of the earth took a stand and got themselves together to help their neighbors and the elderly. They got boats and searched flooded homes for people left in their homes to die. They took them to safer areas, higher ground. And then they went to the store to get food and water for the people they just saved. They got food and water because no one else was going to bring it. Had they not "looted," dozens of people would have died. (And its a shame that the media called blacks "looters" and whites "victims" and "salvagers" when they were doing the same exact thing in photos - and I don't even want to get on the term "refugee." The last I checked all those people were citizens of this country). Just wondering... Did you go and see for yourself and ask for yourself and learn for yourself? Or did you just eat up what news reports tell you? Yeah, you won't hear a true story like that on Fox or CNN. The media only lets you see what they want you to. Ha, looters.

I also need to add that there were also far fewer african-americans voting in those two elections than this one.

        • Posted By: live.laugh.love. @ 11/06/2008 2:20:22 PM

That is true, but they did get surprisingly overwhelming support from them. You can't deny that. I don't dispute the fact that there are some blacks that have no idea who Obama is and what his policies are. There are some blacks who think he is just going to give handouts or something ridiculous like that. But there are educated blacks, like me, who actually researched his policies, Clinton's policies, and McCain's policies before exercising my right to vote for the candidate I think will do the best job. I voted for Obama because I believe in his policy proposals, and he just happens to be black.

      • Posted By: SexiGelRox @ 11/06/2008 2:04:13 PM

I agree there probably were a group of well informed African-American voters who voted for Obama because of his plans. Unfortunately I'm sure a lot of the plans were the free things being given away. That is also why a lot of white American's voted for him! This country wasn't built on entitlement it was built on hard work and dedication and delayed gratification, and until people start realizing that we will be screwed as a nation. The Constitution says you have the right to "life, liberty, and PURSUIT of happiness". It does not say that you are guaranteed happiness!

Wait. You don't approve of education?

              • Posted By: SexiGelRox @ 11/06/2008 4:30:07 PM

I don't approve of free college education beyond what's already being offered. College is already starting to be a joke. It's a party and a cake walk, and a way to delay people from growing up. Less and less people are going to college to actually pursue something, they just go because everyone else is doing it and then they get the simple degrees that get them no where except now they have an expensive piece of paper. People who actually want to go to college and LEARN something to better their careers also are willing to pay the price for it. There are many many states that offer some sort of incentive to stay in school. Over in Nevada and California if you graduate from a state high school you can go to college for free (at least you could when I started college), and in Florida they offer a scholarship to pay tuition for those who make a certain gpa and certain test score.

I think we are already educating too many people in this country. I think we need to make people take a test, at a set age, and those that don't make the cut go to trade school or learn how to do something. Those who pass get to continue on until the next year when they take the test again. This would elimnate the people sitting and wasting the teachers' energy when they don't want to be there. It's ridiculous how much time the teachers have to spend calming the rowdy teenagers that don't want to be there and would rather be out doing drugs, selling drugs, or having sex!

People should go to school because they want to go to school, not b/c the school and governemnt tell them they have to, maybe making people actually earn something for a change would make them take responsibility!!!!!

What's wrong with me? Nothing! We have the worst educational system in the world so obviously what we are doing doesn't work! Maybe you don't remember what it is like to be in school, maybe it's been too long, or you went to a school where everyone worked their butts off. But where I went to school and where my younger siblings are starting school now people go to school b/c they are being forced to go and not because they want to. Those that are being forced to go are disruptive and cause trouble. They take time away from the actual teaching the subjects.

Look at how Japan and China educate their children! Those from Asian countries come over here and wipe the floor with us because they are that much smarter! Why? Because they only educate those that want to be educated or that test well. I'm not telling anyone they can't be educated, but prove it then. Hold yourself accountable. If you are a 13 year old and want to keep going to school rather than learning a trade and taking that route then learn something enough so you pass the test. That's all I'm saying. It's a different way of teaching but the way we do it just doesn't work!

Obama isn't make free college education, but he does want to lower the costs, whch in turn makes it easier for people to afford it. Which in essence would be great, however if you've been to college campuses and actually spoken with recent high school graduates, many of them are going to college because they don't want to go to work and grow up. They want to prolong the "not responsible for anything" phase of their lives. It's sad.

There are more than enough scholarships and grants out there if you work for it to pay the tuition, but people don't want to work, they want what's easy. When it all boils down I think that's what I am most upset about, with every issue and stance I take the root cause is people don't work hard enough! Everyone wants something for free...

What are the policies, specifically, that drove you to vote Obama? B/c while I agree with your statement...I have been inundated, when I've posed the question in the past, with vaguelly rhetorical hopes of change...I have found it difficult to hear specifics. There are always specific reason I vote the way I do. I didn't vote McCain in the primaries for several of them (immigration, energy, etc). But I did vote McCain in the gen election b/c of proposed cuts by Pres Obama in defense, taxing of upper middle class business owners (those making $200K/yr has doubled in the last 4 years), the thought of redistribution of wealth, and the fact the he has voted twice to remove the ban on PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION, and once to fund it with gov't money (CNN). So specifically, why?

"What are the policies, specifically, that drove you to vote Obama?"

          I can answer that.

          1. Progressive taxation.

          2. We didn't need another 4 years of failed republican leadership.

          • Posted By: tyger44 @ 11/06/2008 1:54:11 PM

            Here are the particulars:

In 2004, 8 percent of the electorate earned $15k or less; that dropped to 6 percent in 2008, a 25 percent decline
In 2004, 15 percent made between $15k-$30K; that dropped to 12 percent in 2008, a 20 percent decline
In 2004, 23 percent made $30k or less; that dropped to 18 percent in 2008, a 22 percent decline
            In 2004, 11 percent made $100k-$150k; that rose to 14 percent in 2008, a 27 percent increase
            In 2004, 4 percent made $150k-$200k; that rose to 6 percent in 2008, a 50 percent increase
In 2004, 3 percent made $200k or more; that rose to 6 percent in 2008, a 100 percent increase
In 2004, 18 percent made $100k or more; that rose to 26 percent in 2008, a 44 percent increase.

            Failed Republican policies?
And why is progressive taxation the fairest plan? Why should I pay no taxes b/c I make <$50/yr...but my boss pay 43% b/c he makes $200K/yr...haven't they earned the right to keep their money? I'm using government as much as they are? More...b/c I have kids possibly needing social programs? Thoughts?

            • Posted By: Doc Howl @ 11/06/2008 2:01:32 PM

"And why is progressive taxation the fairest plan?"

There are 2 reasons progressive taxation is the best plan:

              1. The rich have benefitted from the system more (no matter how they got rich). Ergo, they should pay more into the system. Can you name a single rich person that went broke because they paid the taxes they owed? Ever? Even with a higher tax rate, they still bring in far more than the mode wage earners, and thus still benefit more from the system.

              2. That's where the money is. The bills have to be paid, eventually. Do you expect the fund the government off the backs of the mode wage earners (at a whacking $19,500/year)? Even if you took everything they made, you wouldn't come close to what is needed.

              • Posted By: SexiGelRox @ 11/06/2008 2:15:49 PM

Just because they have more money does not make it right to take more of their money. There is no difference between that and the mentality of theives! They feel that they need what the other person has more than the person who has it, so they take it!

                • Posted By: Doc Howl @ 11/06/2008 2:34:03 PM

So it is your opinion that the bills DON'T have to be paid? I mean, we don't need to fund the military, for example (the number one single expense we have)?

                  • Posted By: SexiGelRox @ 11/06/2008 3:44:14 PM

No the bills need to be paid, but they need to be paid by everyone! I'm sorry to say that I don't support the bailout bill. Why should I a responsible lender pay for all of the people who got loans and couldn't pay them off? It's not my problem they did that! Where's the incentives to those people who are actually paying their bills? People got loans for houses worth 300k when there's no way they could even afford a $100k house!

True...just don't increase it! If you own a business fledgling business employing 10 people at a 6% profit margin, and your taxes are increased 7%...who loses their job? The business owner, or one of the mode wage earners?

Google the FAIR TAX PLAN...I'd like to know what you think?! Brief synopsis: sales tax (like tobacco, oil, etc) no income tax. progressively rated to what the product is (food, clothing v. luxury items). BTW, the oil companies make a 4% profit as a whole on their commodity...the gov't makes 18% on the oil company's commodity. Just a thought!

Hmmm...so you're saying that, by returning to the same tax levels we had under Reagan, we will bankrupt companies all over America?

It's a system designed to create a permanent aristocracy. I'll pass.

they'll rely on the government to give them things, however the government will have even less money because they aren't giving the governemnt money anymore! Somehow taxing the wealthy seems to me like it puts a lot more people out of a job and creates a need for more government money when there won't be enough to go around! And that helps our economy how????

But they won't. The fact is, Obama's proposed tax rate is the same as Reagan's tax rate, and business did just fine under Reagan.

                • Posted By: fattdaddy19 @ 11/06/2008 2:37:33 PM

Guys. First off the United States has had a progressive tax since 1916 so this is nothing new. Secondly, the 'Bush' tax cuts of 2002 lowered the tax brackets for most Americans. Senator McCain originally opposed these cuts because they favored the wealthy too much. The top rate was lowered about 6%. Obama's plan calls for the top two rates to go back to where they were prior to the cuts in 2002. It seems to me that the wealthy did well enough under Clinton under the original rates so I'm sure that they will survive the return to these rates as well.
P.S. Theodore Roosevelt, a fairly wealthy man, supported the progressive tax when it was created.

            • Posted By: SexiGelRox @ 11/06/2008 2:07:14 PM

I personally agree with you and I make less than $50k. I'm not wealthy, nor did I come from a wealthy family, but I don't think it's fair that the majority of people using governmental programs in this country are also the ones that aren't being taxed! Why should I pay the taxes for the people who aren't paying taxes reep the benefit? I am going back to school to better myself, and when I do I will jump a tax bracket, but still not more than $100k. So I'm not preaching b/c I'm rich and want my taxes lower. I think everyone should pay the same percent accross the board, that way we can all have the opportunity to use the tax money equally! Now however that's not what's happening!

        • Posted By: live.laugh.love. @ 11/06/2008 2:12:04 PM

          1. I loved McCain back in 2000, but he is not the same maverick that he used to be. I couldn't vote for him.
          2. Obama does not support partial birth abortions. He did not vote them down because the measure failed to include a stipulation for the mother's health.
          3. Education reform: No Child Left Behind is statistically leaving millions of students behind, and he wants to help make college affordable for students.
          4. Iraq = Vietnam, Korea. It's time to learn from our mistakes. We were wrong on the war, and it is time to go in the most responsible and safe way possible.
          5. I think the benefits his tax proposals outweigh those of McCain, and my parents make well above $250,000.
          6. I believe that his proposals for combating the economy and those for energy reform will bring the country out of this mess.
          7. Bi-partisanship
          8. His support ranges from Democrats to Independents and Republicans. He's not a polarizing figure, and that could work to his advantage during his term.

Those are just to name a few, and I could go on if I have time. I wouldn't say I voted for Obama because he is black. I voted for the Democrat, whose policies I believe in, that jut happens to be black.

To Missouri Christian- Let me just say God doesn't need defending he is God Alone and all by himself! Secondly you came across on the website being very judgmental and that's why all the people are commenting against you! You say that you are a christian and so be it! However, you have to realize that GOD appointed this man PRES OBAMA to be in this position if not it would've happen. Now people that are true christians would know this. (I'm not saying that you are not). What I'm saying is that, I don't agree with abortion BUT when I voted I weighed alot of options on both candidates. There were some things I agreed and disagreed on both of them. If though I don't agree with abortion it's not going to stop women from having them. people will find ways to do what they want to do. We have to as Christians pray that the heart of man change and that can only be done through Christ and not man! So there is no need to judge Pres Obama for what you disagree. If you are a Christian then you klnow to pray and not judge.

    • Posted By: tyger44 @ 11/06/2008 1:59:38 PM

Well said...I still wouldn't vote Obama...but I appreciate your argument. Besides I don't agree economically, or socially with him, I can't vote for someone who votes to removed Partial Birth Abortion Bans...and in a very liberal move, vote to fund abortions with gov't funds (CNN).

      • Posted By: live.laugh.love. @ 11/06/2008 3:05:05 PM

Obama does not support partial birth abortions. He held out because the measure fails to include a stipulation for the mother's health. There are two lives at stake in a pregnancy. He wanted to make sure the mother was not forgotten, which tends to happen quite often with abortion issues.

I, for one, hope for government funding for abortions. Take Sweden, for example. The government pays for
all abortions. Statistics show that overall their abortion rates are quite low compared to cross-national standards. Government funding allows women the choice to choose what they want to do in event of an unintended pregnancy (although, because I am a Christian, I pray they do not resort to abortion). With government funding, women who can't afford abortions won't have to resort to measures that endanger her own health. Abortions would be performed by physicians in a safe and sterile environment. In Sweden, this proved to be a way to lower abortion rates. The U.S. should follow suit.

Please, check your facts, even those provided by reputable news sources (CNN).

        • Posted By: SexiGelRox @ 11/06/2008 3:36:54 PM

I actually did my college thesis on this, so...I'm sure the reason Sweden has a low abortion rate probably has more to do with the fact that they have Comprehensive Sex-Ed as opposed to our Abstinence-Only Sex-Ed. Numerous studies have shown when you teach teenagers about sex in appropriate manner and explain how and why to use contraceptives and you make it readily available, the incidence of teenage/unwanted pregnancy drops way down, as does the abortion rates.

Not only well said, but this is the side of Christians that needs to get more attention. It's the more outrageous, fringe elements who make the most noise and get the most coverage. It's believers who conduct themselves as you have who can bring more to the flock. I my opinion it is you who more accurately reflects the teachings of Christ than those who use religion to spread hate and distrust and try to further their earthly agenda. "Judge not lest ye be judged" is something that seems to have been lost in many church sermons today where a social agenda is passed off as religion.

mcortinas: You are right in what you say. But it seems if someone who states to be a Christian has an opinion they are "hatemongers" or "racists" or worse. I think this is why most people who call themselves Christians have remained quiet for so long. "FEAR" of what they may be called. As i said God knows my heart so if i have said something wrong or out of line i will apologize to you. And pray to him to forgive me. And I hope I can count on your prayers as well. I will try to be more careful But I still feel very strongly about what i Believe. I am a new Christian (11 Months) and I am very excited about that and I love the lord and all he has created even the people who have turned away from his way. I do not like some of things they do or believe in, but i do still love them.

You should never be afraid to say you're a Christian. Again Jesus was called names, beaten and bruised! I believe it just was the way you came across not the people where bashing you because you are a christian. Congrats for become a christian. You have a right to stand for what you believe in. President does not believe in abortion! Please get the FACTS! I believe sometimes people hear somethings and not all and take it and run with it! No apologies necessary for me. Just be careful about judging people and not getting the fact! Hooray to you for your love of God.

Great job at becoming the first African-American president. But has it changed our country? You bet. Every moment since election day we are being reminded that he is the first African-American president. I don't recall them saying "Congrats Bush becomes the 43rd White President". I'm sorry to say it, but because of your win I can say without a doubt this country is more racist today then they were on Monday. Race is now all over the newspaper and is being brought up with every discussion. If this country was so progressive and above the race of people, then it wouldn't even be an issue. We would all be saying "Congrats to Mr. Obama, the 44th president!" But the sad truth is we're not. And if the african-american people in my city are any indication of how the rest of the country is acting, I'm terrified. I have been prevue to hearing "this is now Black America, say goodbye to White America!". Thank Mr. Obama for taking this country back in history a few years, and making this country perfectly aware of race!!!!

    • Posted By: TalkSoup @ 11/06/2008 11:35:29 AM

If you hadn't noticed, race has been an issue in teh US for a long time. It didn't happen this week.

By teh way, I haven't heard anyone say anything about "this is now Blakc America" other than a few insults thrown out by a few who oppose a black president.

      • Posted By: jlgjrg @ 11/06/2008 12:23:33 PM

That is exactly what the blacks are saying!!!!! The BLACKS are now all thinking its free ride time, we've got a BROTHER in office now and he'll takes care of all of us.. He's going to "SPREAD THE WEALTH". SOUNDS LIKE YOUR BROTHER WILL DO YOU RICGHT. ALL YOU PEOPLE THAT THINK OBAMA IS THIS CURE ALL, WHAT PLANET ARE YOU ON, HE IS ONLY GOING TO HELP ONE COLOR SKIN AND THE COLOR AINT WHITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        • Posted By: MCortinas @ 11/06/2008 12:38:24 PM

This is getting out of hand. No, you are wrong and as long as you live DO NOT ever say or speak on behalf of Black people because we do not believe that we are getting a free ride nor do we believe that we got a brother in office and it will be a free ride. WE along with whites, asian, hispanics and other races believe in Barack Obama for change. Yes, he has made a way for ANYONE to become president!!

          • Posted By: SexiGelRox @ 11/06/2008 7:54:42 PM

This is exactly my point. The civil rights movement and Martin Luther King, Jr. did nothing??? The way has been paved for a long time. Look at Powell and Rice they did nothing? Last time I checked Obama being president-elect didn't all of a sudden make the blacks free! You've been free and even better you've had affirmative action on your side for years!!!!

    • Posted By: Magdollyn @ 11/06/2008 12:18:18 PM

I think your view is the same as many white americans who think that ignoring a persons race keeps you from being racist. Or that just "not seeing" a persons skin is the best way to show your tolerance. Ask any black, hispanic/latino,or asian person and they will tell you that ignoring our skin color is a slap in the face. As if it's something wrong, a pimple that you want to keep from staring at. Believe me, t's ok. Go ahead and acknowledge the color of their skin and all that's associated with it, just dont' hate me for it. Embrace it. Respect it. Find things about it that you like. That's tolerance.

      • Posted By: SexiGelRox @ 11/06/2008 7:49:47 PM

I don't ignore people's skin color nor do I hate someone because of it. I respect that everyone has a history that comes with either their race or religion, and I respect that, just as I would have them do for me. I listen to what people have to say before I ever judge anything.

All I am saying is that if we were as indifferent to a person's "color" then it wouldn't be an issue in every headline. The color of his skin wouldn't be plastered all over. People would've voted because they always did and felt it was right to practice that civil liberty! There would be racial slurs coming out of both whites and blacks and people being fired from jobs because of it. We are not above racism in this country!! And until people realize that then we'll continue to take steps backwards!

      • Posted By: AverageGuy08 @ 11/06/2008 1:23:05 PM

Martin Luther King , though glad to see this barrier broken, would be horrified by the current discourse here and in the media. What happened to the dream of a colorblind society? I don't care what color the president is as long as he or she does right for our country. Unfortunately, I see a lurch to the extreme left which bodes quite negative for our country. I hope Obama proves me wrong and governs from the center, but all I have to go by at this time is his previous record which about as left-wing as it gets. And with a Congress controlled by the same party there are no checks and balances. God help us!

    • Posted By: MCortinas @ 11/06/2008 11:19:39 AM

Obama has shown and proven that this country can be run by anyone deemed fit no matter what race, religion, gender, ect. This is one of the many changes that he is bringing to the table. You are just gonna have to accept it!

Why can't everyone stop whining and realize it is time to dig in and help out instead of crying about this and that and things you know nothing about. Give him a chance and work by his side to make this a proud nation once again.
I truly believe that this man is going to be the Greatest President we have ever had in our history.

Ahhh ... the sweet taste of victory. I thought McCain's concession speech was very heart-felt and sincere - he showed a lot of class. Although from some of the posts below, I can see some of his supporters are sore losers (although not all - thank you sharenews).

Hate and fearmongering did not work during the election and it is certianly not going to work now. Our country has a lot of problems, but Obama is up to the challenge - but it is going to take more than just his leadership to turn this country around.

So you can be part of the solution or you can be part of the problem, your choice.

  • Posted By: Vivi @ 11/06/2008 2:21:59 PM

I'm kind of surprised to read the same "(president-elect) Barack "Hussein" (no relation) Obama is a socialist messiah and elitist terrorist and secret Muslim with no birth certificate and no lame emblematic metal flag pin in his lapel" nonsense being posted here. I didn't think the posters even believed that silliness, but now that Obama has won and the irrational smear and fear tactics serve no purpose, so I can't imagine why the soapboxes are still out.

The election is over. Maybe you're thrilled with the results, maybe not so much, but either way Americans have participated in the democratic process and decided that Obama will be the new face of the US. Maybe you didn't vote for him, but understand: your American brothers and sisters did. The endorsement from Republican Gen.Colin Powell, wondrous as it was, fades to nothing compared with this: His endorsement by the United States of America.

You may be disappointed that McCain didn't win, but your country is rejoicing. This kind of hope and widespread unity is all too rare. It is yours, too, by right. You don't have to be happy with the election to be happy for your American brethren as they celebrate their moment in the sun.

But people will ignore the fact that he went to school in indonesia, which means he had to be a citizen there, and they don't accept dual citizenships. That means he did relinquish his American citizenship, when did he get it back?

If your family does not make more than 250,000, your taxes won't go up, and they may go down; if you're an individual, you can only make 200,000 before they go up -- but the amount it goes up is 3$ of the amount OVER that amount. It is in the best interest of the entire country if all of its people are healthy, not tying up the emergency room with non-emergencies, and more able to work.; if these people you malign so much have access to a decent education, they can help themselves out of poverty. The drain on the system diminishes over time. The people who are out of work because they lost their job through no fault of their own would not fall into your "beer drinking tv-watchers"; If you folks could try and look at what is right with your world rather than what is wrong, you may find yourself feeling a little happier.

I hope and wish that the president elect Barack Obama does not become a proxy or a crony of American Zionist Jewish lobby and dictated and surrounded by them in the Oval office. by them. It will be a recipe for disaster and will alienate him from the Muslim world. As long as he shows equality of justice both for the Palestinians and Israeli Jews, he would be welcomed with open arms in the Middle East. He must demonstrate responsibility and good judgement in dealing with the two-state solution for the Palestinians and Israelis and should accomplish this goal in his first term. A lot of evil, injustices and barbarities have been inflicted by Zionist Israel on the innocent men, women and children in Palestine during G W Bush???s eight years in the Oval Office. Barack Obama must not show green light to the Israelis to bomb their way as they wish in future and instead start negotiating with the oppressed people of Palestine who just want to live in peace as free people of an independent state.

Zionist Israelis and Palestinians must understand that for the two ancient peoples to survive, it is better to love each other than hate each other for ever. Israel is the most powerful military power of the Middle East and the eight most powerful country in the world with nuclear bombs, WMDS and most advanced conventional weapons and could wipe out the entire region in one day if seriously or foolishly threatened by any of its neighbours or by Iran but she is always shouting, " Wolves are going to eat me" when it is not true. Peace can only be achieved if all sides are sincere, honest and determined to live in peace and harmony with each other.

If President Obama could achieve this historical milestone, he would be remembered throughout the history as an honourable man of peace and justice and loved by billions of people on earth. American totally partial policy has caused a lot of violence and terrorism around the world and it is about time that a long lasting peace based on fairness and justice is established in the Middle East and all side live in peace and harmony.

Im no fan of the way Isreal conducts it's regional policy in either diplomatic or military decisions, but I understand the difficulty of their existence in the region. I believe the point of the post above was to encourage a philisophical shift away from the complete acceptance of all Isreali interaction with their neighboors, and instead take a hard line against all ethnic conflict between the opposing sides, and demand that the rivals finally come to the table to work out an acceptable situation that will squelch the ongoing bloodshed.

But how about rather than quitting your job, and forcing me to pay for your kids, you go out there and get a 2nd and 3rd job? or find one job that pays more money? My biggest gripe is that quite a few of the people who are struggling to make ends meet have 2+ children. Why would you do that to yourself? I'm not trying to insult anyone, I just wonder why more people don't think before bringing kids into this world if they can't afford food, insurance etc. for them.

That said, let's not pretend that Obama's election is going to miraculously eliminate the issues we face as a nation. Obama has an incredibly difficult path ahead of him to attempt to get the nation back on track. Not to rain on the parade, getting elected will have been by far the easiest part of Obama's presidency.

I doubt the Lord is too proud of you lately.

You claimed that Obama is a Muslim. Do you klnow that for a fact? Do you have proof?

No? Then it's a lie and you are a liar.

You know if that is what you want to believe you do have that right. I'm not here to argue. The facts I heard are the same ones you have heard you just refuse to believe like so many others.

I believe you aren't here to argue. In fact, I believe you're here to parrot the same tired lies expounded by wingnut bloggers all over the world.

            You, sir, are no Christian.

What the HELL! Its so hilarious how insane and blind people can truly be when they only look through the rose colored glasses handed to them for a race they couldn't pick! For all the nutjobs who believe that the little pennies they delve out to the poor through taxes for the welfare they receive has really hurt their pockets, I feel sorry for you truly. Obama got elected because he is new and fresh and primed ready to really prepare America for not only change but true unity that can only be defined by all Americans getting a fair shake not just Catholic White Anglo-Saxons who came over here on a boat just like the rest of our ancestors. The fact that some were forced to do so is so beyond the point that its ridiculous, because they are here damn it so get over yourselves! I really want to know what the hell has the last 5 presidents done that is so fabulous that would warrant us choosing yet another pompous idiot who is out of touch with the common man! I' m sorry, but the last time I checked the average American was not born with a silver spoon in his/her mouth or loads of experience that guaranteed success, if they were gutsy enough to run and win! Hillary got what she deserved because she could not keep her story straight and if you call that smart, well ok! Oh by the way, if you think most folks are depending on the government to take care of them than you are more ignorant than usual. And also, Obama is not racist by any means, I voted for him because I know he includes everybody including Whites. All the college kids who voted for him would not have done so if he were any other way unlike some jerks I see. READ IT AND WEEP, THE POLLS DON'T LIE. A LOT OF WHITES LOVE OBAMA AND WE ARE GLAD THAT HE IS OUR PRESIDENT!!!!

Yes, he is a very big fresh breath of air that our country needs right now. Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, Native, Mid-Eastern, we all decided together we prefer President-elect Obama!
