All Republicans and Bigots are angry and can only post negativity instead of supporting our next President and wishing him well. So for all of you HATERS out there please Cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it. Congratulations Mr. Obama!!!

Republicans and Bigots are just angry, and can only post negativity. Barack is the President so just Cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it.

How can anyone of normal intelligence listen to the plans of Barack Obama and the promises he makes and conclude that he will govern from middle? Are you deaf or are you so giddy with your liberal kool aid that you can not think reasonably? Everything he proposes is straight out of the far left, George Soros, Moveon.org playbook. Please make an attempt at intellectual honesty and be accurate in who you are and what you
stand for. We ignorant conservatives may be a little smarter than you think. Enjoy the next two years, (if we
survive as a nation), because the next midterm election will bring a wholesale house cleaning in Congress.

Congrat to Obama, Yes!!!He made history, and will always be remembered for that. His name will be known not only to US but to the World as a man who made history. But lets not forget that I find it very hard for what he stands for and what he will do for this country. When one run for a senate seat, he ran for his state, for what he can do, for his states and what changes he can make to a state that needs help that they desperately need. And what did Obama did during his short term as a Senator. Hit the button 92 times present, present, present. Signed a paper promising that he will not accept public funding, what he did was broke his promise. Can he delivered what he promised the American People all accross American on his trail to his journey of becoming the next president. Or was it just to put a his name in history of becoming the first colored president . One must remembered it takes two to make a child. His father was black, his mother white. That doesn't make him a black or white president, but it makes him a colored president.

    Congratulations, America!

You have just elected a vainglorious demagogue to be the 44th President of the United States!
A vainglorious demagogue whose leadership consists of voting ???present??? 130 times in the Illinois State Senate!
A vainglorious demagogue whose experience and qualifications are as pathetic as they are dangerous!

A vainglorious demagogue who will bankrupt the futures of the children and grandchildren of all those who blindly worship him!

A vainglorious demagogue who has already stifled and ruined anyone who has dared to question or oppose him!

A vainglorious demagogue who uses his mixed-race heritage to brand those who criticize him as racists!

A vainglorious demagogue who proved his character by defiling the reputation of the woman who raised him in the name of the heinous excuse of a human being he calls his ???spiritual mentor???!

A vainglorious demagogue who has deceived and lied time and time again about his past and his associations!

A vainglorious demagogue who has utter contempt for our traditions and values to the point where his children are not allowed to celebrate Christmas or their birthdays!

A vainglorious demagogue who has all but promised to trash the Constitution - the document he calls ???flawed??? - that he will swear to preserve, protect and defend!

A vainglorious demagogue who will bring our troops home in defeat and disgrace, and allow the Middle East to be plunged into bloodshed!

A vainglorious demagogue who hates America every bit as much as our enemies do!

    Congratulations, America! Well done!

I have learned that all of us have the potential for evil. None of us are free from this. We try our best to draw upon the "better angels of our nature" as Lincoln said. I fear the leader who has little need for self-reflection/ I fear the leader is either unwilling or incapable of listening to those who disagree with him but surrounds himself with "loyal yes men."
We all have some unresolved issues from our past that blind us and keep us from seeing ourselves and others as they are. If we remain unconscious to them, we will project our worst fears, our worst prejudices, the worst intentions on others. We will see the world in terms of "good people" and "evil people" and persons who are "either with us or against us."
We will polarize; we will divide; we will sow suspicion and mistrust. We will see the world as a dark and scary place filled with enemies "out to get us." Yes, there are real dangers in our world. There are leaders who commit evil acts. We must not be naive to the reality of evil in the world. But, we must be careful that looking for evil and looking for our worst fears come true does not dominate our world view. If it does, we could see and hear everyone who does not agree with us, as one more feared enemy. I see a lot of angry back biting posts here from all sides. I think it is time to stop the name calling and start listening. Otherwise, we are just spitting in the wind. McCain gave a gracious concession speech and pledge to work with President elect Obama. I think it is time to end the campaign, too.

who believes he has it all figured out and leads from his "gut" after prayers to God.

Guess what, this vainglorious demagogue as you call him, has as much experience as Abraham Lincoln when he took the office as our 16th President. Look what he did with his inexperience!!!!!

      • Posted By: mrzoid @ 11/05/2008 5:38:54 PM

Not to be caustic, but i get a little nervous when people keep making these parallels to Lincoln, Kennedy and King...... I'm just saying.

"IamYourWorstNightmare": You appear to be your own worst nightmare. A little feedback going on inside there? Don't think we're going to find the cure for you, but "we" just elected a President in spite of your widely spread symptoms.

Don???t live in a closet of horribles and fear, and don???t want to. This paranoid hate and fear has got to go. The neocon fantasies ought to go, or be kept on the margin where they are and belong.

Great article. And yeah, we will understand if President Obama makes compromises to reach the real goals...Lincoln, FDR, Truman, Washington all did what had to be done but in the end did achieve the essentials.

For example, I for one would love to see the President go to the NRA convention and settle that one with one speech, agreeing they have the right to bear arms, sensibily noting we all want safe neighborhoods and to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and challenging them as the people who know and appreciate the right to bear arms to come up with sensible legislation to handle the matter.

Ah, FBHO...You've gotta stop watching Fox-Lord Murdock's pap rots the brain and he only wants power and your money. We have a great centralist president who with luck and our help could do great things. Show you have some real guts and give him a fair chance.

Not so fast! I have met small business owners practically in tears, many nervous soldiers, and anyone else who is older and pays bills and taxes who are very unhappy about this election! Obama needs to remeber that he won by a norrower margin than Bush did over Kerry in the last electiion. So the country is not behind him 100%, far from it and he should do some things that he failed to do before the election to clear his name.
The reason that the "Socialist" label didn't stick is because immigrants and the young don't know what socialism is! They don't know American history. Even many of our middled aged peopled were not properly taught history so most folks didn't understand the ramifications of Obama being a socialist and how that effects them, but they will!
Obama needs to call a 9/11 investigation of non-partisan officials to look into the causes of the Wall street crash. He needs to move to protect and reassure our soldiers of his good intentions and his loyalty to America. He needs denounce and completely distance himself from the likes of Bill Ayers and ACORN! He needs to shed all those radical leftist associations and show himself to be an ADULT capable of running this country for other adults!

    • Posted By: pmagruder @ 11/06/2008 8:46:03 AM

      Midwest Mom,
Do you reaize how much you sound like McCain and Palin? This is why the Republicans lost because they continued to spout untruths about Obama and ran the most negative campaign I have ever witnessed. Your party had the chance to make positive changes for this country and instead put us in the worst position this country has ever been in. Obama or any other Democrat that won the Presidency, can't make things any worse than they are. Get a life and try to stand and work together as one country. This is supposed to be the United States of America.

      • Posted By: Peter Blooms @ 11/06/2008 10:02:44 AM

McCain supporters give it a rest. Take a deep breath. You have spent the last couple of years to yourselves and stoking fears and anxities with each other. Think about it. There have been some long time Republicans who endored President elect Obama before his elections. Just one: Christopher Buckley son of William F. Buckley. You will do yourselves a world of good if you stop repeating the same fears over and over. Pick up some alternatives to Fox News and read other opinions. Take some time to reflect on alternative opinions. Think about them. You may discover like many of us that neither you nor I have the lock on truth. We can learn from each other if we stop the name calling and just listen. We all have experiences which inform the way we see ourselves and our world. Some of those experiences have wounded us and produced 'blind spots.' That is why we need to look carefully at who we 'hate' and who we call 'the enemy' as those persons may well reveal the blindspots we hold about ourselves and others. There is a lot of self-hate reveal in our projections on others. President elect Obama is not your feared 'enemy'; he loves this country as much as any of us, maybe more, as he was willing to endure a long hard fought campaign to make a difference. Shalom! Peace~

    CAN MUSLIMS BE GOOD AMERICANS?

This is very interesting and we all need to read it from start to Finish and send it on to anyone who will read it. Maybe this is why our American Muslims are so quiet and not speaking out about any atrocities. Can a good Muslim be a good American? This question was forwarded to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.. The following is his reply:

Theologically - no. . . . Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon God of Arabia

Religiously - no. . . Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)(Koran)

Scripturally - no. . Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran.

Geographically - no . Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. . . Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews ...

Politically - no. . . Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America , the great Satan.

Domestically - no. . Because he is instructed to marry four Women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34)

Intellectually - no. . Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically - no. . . Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran does not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually - no. . . Because when we declare 'one nation under God,' the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names.

Therefore, after much study and deliberation.... Perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. - - - They obviously cannot be both 'good' Muslims and good Americans.

Call it what you wish it's still the truth. You had better believe it. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future. The religious war is bigger than we know or understand. .. ....

And Barack Hussein Obama, a Muslim, wants to be our President? You h ave GOT to be kidding! Wake up America !

Obama even says if he wins the election, he will be sworn in on the Quran---not a Bible!

Footnote: He was sworn in on the Quran for his current office and he refuses to pledge allegiance to the United States or put his hand over his heart when the National Anthem is played! The Muslims have said they will destroy us from within. Hello! Having a Muslim president would seem to fit the bill! Will you trust this man with our national secrets?

    SO FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.

I think people need to remember back to 1980 when the country was in an uproar over a liberal actor being elected! while I am a democrat, I still believe Ronald Reagan was one of our countries best Presidents. Give Obama a chance, he most definately surprise you as he turns this country around for all colors.

Intelligence,, ability, and dedication PLUS the power of inspiration. Supporters have already received "thank you; I'll let you know what's next" emails from Obama. The people can and will help him achieve great things.

One of the BIGGEST things Obama cshould do for poor people and inner city people (actually everyone) Is let them send their children to the schools of thier choice.
Now please all of you who like to just talk< I grew up in inner city schools in poor neighborhoods. You want to give equality to all? Let them choose the education of thier kids That's equality! It worked for Obama!

Perhaps, though he has also spent more than any other president since L:BJ, how do you suppose we pay for this war?

Again: Please do not miscontrue me as some sort of demoicrat partisan, I am not. When people were whining that Bush stole the election i advised them to lose with dignity, as well.

THough, I have to say I hjave been blogging quite a bit these last few months and I can honestly say the swill spewed by the vast majority of GOP supporters was the most shameful display I have seen amid any election, the namecalliung, the accusations, the scare tactics, followed by the hissy fits; this is why you guys lost this one.... I must question myself for taking the time to responmd to a man who thinks Obama's birth certificate is false, you know they never chefck those dman things when running for office.
