One other thing, Clinton himself addmitted that he loosened the regulations during his tenure to let people in the lower income brackets get home loans, BUT it was supposed to sunset. When Bush and others tried to "sunset" that particular program it was blocked! We need to look into the causes of this Wall Street mess and not just throw taxpayer money at a bunch of Rich cats in Washington! Tom Latham stood against the Bailout as did Steve King because they didn't think that the American taxpayer should have to bail out a bunch of rich banks because of their corrupt practices! I say we get behind Congressman King and demand an investigation! What do you say Obama?

Believe it or not, a countries "religious" beliefs are the foundation of their laws. Look at Sharia law in Muslim countries or laws in Hindu and Bhuddist countries, that's why it matters. Do you have rights? What rights do you have? All are based on religious/moral views of the law writers and legislators (including what is ethical for the use of money and people) That's why it matters what a leaders religious convictions are.
Speaking of messes, Obama won by a norrower margin of the popular vote than Bush won over Kerry in the last election! We said it was a divided country then so lets not try to pretend that we are not deeply divided !
Obama needs to do a couple of things that would show his goodwill to everyone but especially his many enemies. 1. Set up a 9/11 type comission of non-partisan investigators to completely examine the Wall Street bail-out debaucle and it's causes. 2. Move to protect our military men and women from any backlash from his election and assure them and the country of his loyalty to America. 3. Make the Bush tax breaks for families PERMANENT! 4. Denounce Bill Ayers and all his associations with ACORN and other radical leftist groups, let his record be fully vetted.
All of this would go a long way to helping the other half of America trust him as their president and show honesty and good will on his part towards his enemies.

People! Please! Obama is not a non-christian. He is not scary. Obama is an American Christian Man that has as much desire as you or I, to improve this country. If you look deep into yourself and your thoughts and try to understand why you feel the way you do. You will see that it's not because of Obama's actions, but it's your own inner thinking and negative messages that you have received.
Obama is a well educated, bible read, family man that is seeking the same basic things that everyone wants. Peace and happiness as in Pursuit of Happiness for all. As FDR said, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." Not Obama, just give him a chance and he will be one of the Greatest all-time Presidents in our great country's history.

.I am concerned at what I see coming from fellow believers in Christ. It seems you have all forgotten the scriptures that tell us that no one moves into leadership unless God says so as well as the ones that instruct us to pray for our leaders, no matter who they are. Unity is what God is seeking; Division, backbiting, slander and ridicule are not words that come from God but out of a sinful, unrepentant, angry heart. The Words of God promote healing, mercy, kindness and most of all love towards one another despite our differences. As Believers in God the creator, our Father in Heaven, we have an obligation to obey His Word, if we are truly His, that is. I personally do not agree with many things that happen in this country, the leaders and those who govern but I support the men and women that are in those positions because of the favor they have received from God the Father to be where they are for His purposes and His purposes alone. I am not qualified to judge others who are outside the Church and limited in judgment upon those within. Judgment is Gods and His alone as is vengeance. I trust Him. He will bring justice where justice is due and He will be Glorified. He has promised us that "If My people will humble themselves and pray then I will hear and I will heal their land." Perhaps we need to spend a lot more time seeking His ways and will, doing as He instructs, preferring one another above ourselves and exhibiting His love toward others and less time with foolish controversies. Just a thought for us all to consider, myself included.

Who cares if he is a Christian or not - whatever happened to the separation between church and state? If the separation was real, we wouldn't have such hurdles with aboriton, gay marriage, etc. When religious views color civic duty and social responsibility it turns into a huge mess and the real issues are not addressed. I can't believe all the money that was raised for and against Prop 8. Give that money to supplement teachers' salaries or help out the folks with mortgage woes. I think Obama will be the catalyst to help us get real about what is important and what is worth fighting for.

I am so sick and tired of hearing, the first african american persident!! NOOO, he's the first bi racial president!!!! How come the fact that he is half white NEVER gets mentioned!! If this mans skin color was all white, we would have a different president right now!!!!
