Hey, Mr. President-Elect, Got a Minute ... or 10?

Do you think Obama might consider Gov.Bill Richardson for Secretary of State? He has a pretty good track record with his international interventions on behalf of hostages and those americans in foriegn prisons.

Deborah: I think it's pretty pathetic that there are still people in this country that believe that "sharing the wealth" is a bad thing. While it should be applauded that 100% of your employees are African American the fact still remains that there are people of all races, ethnicities, and ages living in poverty because of failed economic policies. All Obama is asking is that Americans put their greed and hunger for profit aside (for once) to help a fellow American that is hungry, homeless, or suffering some other social or economic ill. Is there something wrong with that? Surely if you were poor and weren't provided the opportunity (and no America hasn't always been the land of equal opportunity) to lift yourself up economically you still wouldn't expect to starve. Sometimes the invisible hand can't fix all of our problems....sometimes we need a visible, helping hand.

I have not read one word on the status of the senate seats now held by Obama and Biden. How will these seats be filled after Jan 20, 2009?

We all owe a profound debt of gratitude for the wonderful job Sarah Palin did in bringing about Obama''s win. One of the most important things she did was to demonstrate what an imbecile we would have in the Oval Office should McCain have won. Concerned Canadian...or shall I say racist undercover...Canada...the one place I as a black woman plan to NEVER go back to visit again...you people treated me like an alien. Anyhow...back to Barack...how dare you call this man stupid but give credit to Palin...go and crawl back under the rock in which you came from...or go hang out by the pool and drink beer, in your two-piece bathing suit, hold up your gun and enjoy Daffy Duck Palin for a pool party. I feel that Obama has many great ideas. However, his inexperience in government may not allow him to implement them. But what does bug me is how this whole campaign has become a "race" cause. I keep hearing about "the first African American male" versus the "best man" who will run our country. I also didn't appreciate after he won how the televisions zoomed in on all the faces of black Americans celebrating. He is everyone's president, not only the black Americans. I hope black America voted for him because they truly believe he is the right man and not to fight a racial cause. It is an American cause. I don't see color, I see a great man who can make change.

About the preacher, where do you get the idea he didn't hear him say those things? It is my understanding that this was this preacher's normal rhetoric and behavior. I can only speak for myself, but I don't even sit through a meeting if I hear garbage like that coming from the speaker! I can't imagine sitting through 20 years of it. And, on the unlikely possibility that you are right.....do you want someone leading the country who has his head stuck in the sand (or as my parents would have said - stuck where the sun don't shine!) about what his beliefs are?

Yes, Wright scares me. His willingness to meet with the heads of countries that would love nothing more than to feign comradery whilst sticking the perverbial stake between the shoulder blades SCARES me!

I will wait and see if he can keep all his promises.

I recently read posted comments on this site by hepworthkeith on 11/05/08. The comments made are evidence that ignorant people need to learn to exercise their right to remain silent. Not only are there numerous grammatical errors in the contents, but the content of the comments are clearly from and uneducated individual who has nothing better to do than to try to attack the character of President Barack Obama-elect. This low level IQ individual does not speak for the majority of the American people. Fortunately, we live in a society where we are free to vote for candidates whom we feel can best serve the people. On election day, the American people spoke loud and clear as to whom we believe to be the best candidate to lead this nation. I am glad to know that intelligence is not based on color, and love for all shows no boundaries. Obama represents America and the hope for a better future for this generation and the next.
As for such negative comments made by anyone who chooses not to support Obama's efforts only shows lack of intellect and substance. An empty wagon makes a lot of noise.

I am sure that Dr. King meant this for any color of skin, no matter if it be white black, yellow, brown, red...... . The news coverage that has been shown today tells me that this election was based purely on color. If content of character was a consideration, McCain would have won in a land slide.

I guess it isn't Obama's fault, if there was any real journalism left in this country, all the facts would have been presented to the American people before election day. Now that Obama is the most powerful man in the world, I wish him all the best, and hope he can deliver on his expectations. God Bless America.

The tone of many of these comments are the primary reason that we have been the laughing stock of the rest of the world. So what if we now have a mixed race President. I am an older caucasian of hispanic descent who voted for President-elect Obama, and am proud of it. I hope he is successful in straightening out the mess the previous administration has left us in. As for those who feel they can no longer tolerate being an American I would suggest you emigrate somewhere else in the world, and leave us to fix the mess you helped create. This has always been a nation of immigrants; there are no natives except the American Indians.
