But, I have to admit, the thing I will enjoy the most is when my husband and I go out to dinner and the bellhops are actually Black Panthers carrying batons to secure the joint!! Now that's what I call good livin'.

WOW! Actually, I wonder what Rap, Stokley, Bobby, and some of the other Chicago guys are thinking...wherever they are.

I have 5 year old twin bi-racial grandson's, they were so happy to hear Mr. Obama won!! It is amazing how he has touched the very young. This country will now be a better place for my grandson's. Hopefully people will not stop looking down on them for the color of their skin. They have hope today!!! This is a great country.

there goes our country- time to give it all away to the people with no experience.
    So gather up your arms-

NO ... there goes YOUR country. And good riddance. What happened to this country during the past 8 years was not MY COUNTRY! Unfortunately, mine was hijacked by the extreme rightwing neocons who have brought us to our knees and you to the yellowbrick road out of town. And it you hate it sooooo much, why don't commiserate with Concerned Canadian in person.

Yeh, cuz the past 8 years of rightwing neocon occupation have been so wonderful. So I don't mind if I do. It can only be miles better.

When any organization calls asking for money, I am going to tell them to call Obama. He is now in charge of redistributing my wealth!

Can we just relax and take a deep breath before we go off half -cocked and start writing things that are hateful and make us sound like fools. I think that one of our problems is that we Americans tend to speak first and think later. I was fooled by Bush- I didn't think he would be such a bad President but I was wrong. If you look back over history- I guess we have to blame Richard Nixon for some of things happening today. After all he is the one who opened up China and started the deregulation in this country. Can't we just bond together and work to do the right thing for all Americans. I finally got up enough courage to check my 401K. I've lost 1/3 of its value. I really don't care what color or sex the person is who will fix this. I wish I could have 10 minutes with Mr. Obama - I think that the first thing we need to do is justify every item that we spend money on in this country. I truly believe that if we can cut out wasteful spending we can find enough money to fund those things that give us life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness which is really what this country is about.

I'm guessing ICEYEYES, Career, HR and all them others changed their names. Good to start fresh convo.

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 11/05/2008 4:57:12 PM

Cloud, they're keeping a low profile.... esp. HR...remember how namy times HR posted that Obama would win only ten states.

How long will it take for Obama to start back-tracking on his campaign promises? Tax cuts for the middle class? Out of Iraq? Will he dig a deeper hole in Afghanistan? I did not vote for the guy, but I support the President-elect now that the nation has decided. I am just bracing for the letdown afetr the euphoria wears off.

    • Posted By: Hannah B @ 11/05/2008 4:56:38 PM

Oh sure, the last 8 years were such a picnic. No letdown there.

Like I said two weeks ago, Obama wins the stock market loses. watch out for the Obama child healthcare plan. READ IT BEFORE YOU SIGN your home is at stake.

Where are the rednecks? I just spent the last half hour in Wal-Mart in Jackson, Tennessee with my Obama shirt on..... The looks of blacks was kind, the white people still look a little confused. We lost a bunch of Democratic campaigns in Tennessee because we have a bunch of backward white people here. But some of us good ol boys would sure like a chance to help to begin to transform this UT (Not Utah), part of the world. Tennessee should be less red. President-Elect Obama, will you please help us cross the Jordan?

  • Posted By: ceocomp @ 11/05/2008 3:32:37 PM

Very well done to Obama and the American people for the historic change in viewpoint!

As a practical matter however, real change will only come when we bring to justice the professional criminals who create wars in order to keep us in debt and under control.

That would include people like Rockefeller, Kissinger, Brzezinski - the guys that control both sides in this latest entertainment event. Similar to the coliseum in the latter days of Rome.

Hopefully Obama will have guts enough to do something about the real international criminals.

lets not forget Richard perle, Wolfowitz and Elderman

      • Posted By: Hannah B @ 11/05/2008 4:50:37 PM

Lest we forget Cheney, Scooter, Rumsfeld, Rove, Myers, Gonzolez,, (and the rest of those who eviscerated the Constitution) on and on ad nauseum. Let them all burn, but I think a little justice here on earth is appropriate too.

watch out for the Obama child health care plan it will be the extension of the 1996 clinton medicaid estate recovery program. dhfs.wisconsin.gov/medicaid1/recpubs/erp/phc13032.htm
bush tried to allow the heirs to keep more but the democratis majority in congress blocked the rright to keep your property.ammendment to this law.

It's gonna be all about t'em black folks now, baby ... give me t'at, I'm entitled!!

  • Posted By: KPillsbury @ 11/05/2008 4:26:30 PM

As a McCain supporter, I must say that I am very hopeful that some real issues are addressed and fixed by our leaders. Democracy is a beautiful thing, even if your candidate is not the winner, the country did stand up and have their collective voices heard.

My one hope as a veteran of Iraq: Don???t cut and run, don???t place ridged timetables on success. Let???s finish that one out in a way that provides dignity to Iraq and the American fighting forces that gave so much over the past 6 years.

Try 8 years of left wing democratic loony bend philosophy. What a pack of air heads.

  • Posted By: gohlkus @ 11/05/2008 4:18:29 PM

Spree and tom, why continue spoiling for a fight?

Give it up and trust that the majority of the American people elected someone who is what he seems to be: A smart, caring leader.

all the little scared people who can only find hateful things to say...

  • Posted By: Rahein @ 11/05/2008 4:15:35 PM

I think that Obama should choose Ray Kurzweil for the CTO position he said he will create. Obama and Kuzweil both talk about change a lot. Kuzweil's change is on the technology side.

I would recommend anyone to read Kuzweil's latest book The Singularity Is Near. I think it is being made into a movie which will be released soon.
