For Jon Meacham - I generally like your reporting but I must bring something to your attention - I have heard & seen you everywhere lately - promoting your book on Andrew Jackson - so why not tell the whole story about Jackson & the Trail of Tears for Indian people and how he banished thousands of Indian people from their homelands - before you glorify the man too much - let's be truthful about EVERYTHING he was responsible for - please!!

From the moment I took the current issue of Newsweek out of my mailbox (44 is my new favorite number), I was totally engaged with what you dubbed "The Project". For the first time ever, I read a magazine cover-to-cover--all 124 pages. Thank you for your in-depth behind the scenes coverage of this historic election cycle. This will be an issue I keep forever.

I just recieved my subscription renewal today, but will not be sending it in. I have had it with the unvarnished bias your publication provides, and there are far too many other sources of objective as well as slanted views available that don't hit me in the wallet. I recall one time I was navigating your web site to respond to one of your columns, with the observation that your magazine seemed as biased as CNBC, when I discovered it was all the same outlet (joke on me). It is a true shame that so many once objective outlets for real news have gone the way of appealing to a selected readership in order to compete for profit share. Now it's just a collection of talking heads spouting and frothing, while the american public can only stand in the middle with their hands over their ears, or like me...choose to turn to turn it off.

Barack Obama graduated from Harvard Law School in 1991. He was most likely selected as President of the Law Review in the spring or summer of 1990. He was not at Harvard in the mid-eighties as stated in the second sentence of your lead article in the current, special issue on the election. It surprises me that no one caught such a basic mistake in such a significant article.

When does Mr Meacham offer his apology to the public and President Elect Obama? I remember seeing Mr. Meacham on Charlie Rose as part of a round table during the early days of presidential primaries. Mr. Meacham explained President Elect Obama would never win the primaries because he was too "exotic". The new code word for the white, southern male and i would hear that word over and over again in North Carolina. I think you owe everyone an spology.

In 35 years of reading Newsweek, I have never, ever, been so drawn in that I sat and read the entire issue from cover to cover. Your coverage of the political campaign is outstanding. It covered parts that I was totally unaware of, and gave me insight into just what a campaign is all about. Thank you for producing such a fascinating issue - again, cover to cover.
