Chem Kim States: ??? I look at the conditions in which nonwhite people live all over the world and see nothing but proof ???

    Mr or Ms Chem kim-
This answer alone proves you are not opening your eyes, you live in a world of denial.. Every one, regardless of skin color in this world has accomplished great feats of athleticism, educational issues and other wonderful challenges. No one race of people have any particular ???advantage??? over any other, those who honestly feel that way are racist???s in every sense of the word. It???s what that race does with what it has that separates that particular race. We all have the same opportunities but we all don???t take advantage of them as we should. It???s a pity for you really, the longer you subject yourself to this form of self pity, fictional racism and fictional alter reality the longer you take to catch up to the real world.

i agree with you .as other has said the biggest enmy in the world is yourself.self pity ruins yourself in the future.

"C's" and got into Yale. Hmmmm Maybe I should have gone there instead of Amarillo College.

Beautiful, Raina, just beautiful.. I'm a 55 year old white man who works as a painter in Florida. About a month before the election, a wealthy man I was doing a job for said to me "I can't believe that a white person would ever go into a closed booth and vote for a f*****g n*****". What he didn't know is that I've been married to a black woman for the past 20 years. That day after work I went and registered to vote. A couple of weeks later I cast my ballot along with millions of others who have just simply had enough. God bless you and our newly elected President.

    • Posted By: bwiley62 @ 11/06/2008 3:21:49 PM

So you only voted for him because he is a black man. That is pathetic. His color has nothing to do with what he will or will not do as a president. Shame on you for not being registered to vote to begin with. This wasn't a race of black against white. This was a race put before the Americans to choose the best man for the job.

      • Posted By: msyvonnemichelle @ 11/23/2008 1:57:59 AM

Obama is black????? Why didnt anyone tell us??? Your leap to the conclusion that this gentleman voted ofr Obama because he is black is a big leap indeed. Personally, I took a fifty fifty chance on him being white since he is half black and half white, and listed all the pros and cons for voting for him. Then I did the same, except this time I regarded him as black. Guess what - thepros and cons were exactly the same. Whew..... and people try to tell me that race matters. Ha! This election proved that the only race that is important is the human race. May God Bless us all and our beloved country.

And what letter did you write to you daughter?

    • Posted By: msyvonnemichelle @ 11/23/2008 1:50:49 AM

Cute - except some women only have one child. I only have a son. I would have also wanted a daughter and was not able to. Perhaps a knee jerk reaction to write a "combeack" should be tempered with sensitivity, just in case the author of this ourstanding article experienced the pain and anguish of not having a daughter, or not having another child. We all face many disappointments in life, but the challenge is to rise above them, and never let them affect you in a bitter, angry, or cynical way, for our child our children learn from their environment. For the future of all of our children, we should create an evnironment of caring and sensitivity, and most of all, the ability to appreciate and undertand the truth and an outstanding article when we read one. I hope all of the young women in this country and across the world will be able to read this article, and read it with the insight that one can only write to a letter to one's own child that exists, but in reality, this letter was written to every child in America. God Bless You.

Chem Kim- When you want to have an actual discussion we can do so. The rants you text (or copy) are without context, validity and truth, they are merely a rant about ideology and all full of nothing more than rhetoric.. (blah, blah, blah.. yada yada yada).. If you want to have a serious conversation with some one I may add, try utilizing fact, writing your own words and making a point.. Not some fairy tale rant.

It is important for non-white people to realize that Racism (White Supremacy) runs on percentages just like any profitable business. So, non-white people should not be mislead by the small percentage of non-white people who have lots of things nor by the small percentage of ???white casualties??? who seem to be lacking the basic things. Both of these phenomena are showcased to confuse the victims of Racism (White Supremacy)---all non-white people---- so that non-white people do not even know that they are subject to this supreme system. This is the most refined and dangerous stage of the system. However, it has the disadvantage for the racists (white supremacists) in that it requires more work to keep victims form seeing the Oz behind the curtain. I suspect that as the cost of doing business goes up, practicing racism (white supremacy) is getting to be less and less fun for the white people who engage in it.

  • Posted By: Chem-Kim @ 11/14/2008 10:12:46 AM

Logically, the definition of -racism- must follow from the definition of ???race-. Persons who self-organize as the white race decide who is and is not a member of that MASTER organization. This master organization, the white race, TOLD AND DEMONSTRATED to people who formerly classified themselves by their tribes that they were NOT white and that their tribe was of no significant importance.

Definitions should not promote confusion but should reveal truth. The basic tools that hold white supremacy together are: 1) the deceitful use of words, and 2) violence. Racists (white supremacists) do not take kindly to their victims tampering with their preferred tool: words. Violence is messy and expensive.

There are three basic categories of people under the system of white supremacy: 1) non-white people; 2) white people, and; 3) racists (white supremacists).

The only FUNCTIONAL form of racism in the known universe is white supremacy. [There is not and there should never be any system of black, yellow, red, etc. supremacy] Further, in reality, non-white people are not self-organized anymore than are cell blocks in a prison. Prisoners are permitted and/or encouraged to take pride in their place in the prison rather than to focus on the uncomfortable fact that they are being held in prison.

-Race- is a construct. A construct serves a purpose. The construct of race ,(-racialism- as it is called in so-called South Africa) ,has served no advantageous purpose for persons who are not classified as white. The construct of ???race- has no other functional purpose than the practice of white supremacy. Promoting the idea that there is more than one race promotes the falsehood that anyone can practice ???racism- and that everyone, and not just the White Supremacists, is responsible for the disastrous relationship between white and non-white people.

Many black/non-white people have blood relatives and friends who could pass for white but who are classified as non-white. Many black people/non-white people have close associates and church members who ARE white. Black/nonwhite people, generally do not have animosity toward any person because he/she appears to be "white." The animosity, when held, is caused by a well founded suspicion that such persons are Racists (White Supremacists). It is interesting that advocating for a system of justice is called, by some persons who classify themselves as white, ???hate mongering-.

    Chem Kim-
You have been to one to many "pass the blame" and "let???s blame whitey" seminars. Your entire argument is fictitious and absurd and borders on insanity. Obviously you have been a student of black theology where they place their failures on the backs of fellow races. Why not as a race of people (the blacks) embrace their country that has given them every opportunity to succeed? Why would you continue to lambaste the country your from (if in fact your an American?) Be proud of the fact that we as a nation have allowed a person of color to be the president, take that open hand offered you by the 76% majority (that being the white population) and join in to combat the problems that lie ahead..to solve the black problems troubling this country. Not fabricating problems with twisted, illogical ideology that you got from the mouths of hate mongers and counter racists bent on black supremacy.

  • Posted By: Chem-Kim @ 11/13/2008 11:04:22 AM

slamdunkt asked me, -Are you saying you think ???Racism- is to blame for the lack of a solid education for many blacks?- If by ???solid- you mean ???correct-, the answer is, -yes.- The prison makers and prison guardians are responsible for EVERYTHING that their prisoners experience including everything that the prisoners do or do not do to themselves. The system of Racism (white supremacy), in its present refined state, is an open-air prison much like a game preserve or a very well done animal park. The system of racism (white supremacy) operates in every area of people activity including economics, education, entertainment, labor, law, politics, religion, sex, and war. Slamdunkt, you say that the system does not exist. You ask for proof that it does. I look at the conditions in which nonwhite people live all over the world and see nothing but proof (and that is exactly what I think any life form that is at least as intelligent as homosapiens would see when orbiting this planet). Yet, I am aware that a prisoner???s proof has only as much functional validity as the prison makers/ guardians determine.

The system of Racism (white supremacy) has not yet been replaced by a system of justice exists because the people who have the ability to accomplish this do not yet have the will AND because the people who have the will to accomplish it do not yet have the ability. Slamdunkt, you called my definition of ???justice- -utopian-. If by ???utopian- you mean impossible, I say that the fact that something has not yet been done is not evidence that it cannot be done.

  • Posted By: slamdunkt @ 11/13/2008 10:12:33 AM

    Chem-Kim-
Are you saying you think "Racism" is to blame for the lack of a solid education for many blacks? What data do you have to prove that theory? I taught inner city and I am white and don???t have a racist bone in my body and I can tell you from what I have seen (And I have been in the trenches as Obama says) the problem isn???t racism at all, its parental involvement and expected failure from blacks within the system. Your utopian explanation of "justice" is irrational as is your personal beliefs about racism (which is also expected by black Americans but is actually not even there). Fact is there is little to no racism in this country, the black plight was brought on by their own decisions and their own judgment calls.. Every time this topic surfaces we blame racism and don???t point the finger where it actually belongs and that is right back to the black populace. Take responsibility for your own actions and stop attempting to blame every "whoa" that the race has on perceived "racism".. Playing the race card has become so easy that the American populace no longer seriously even considers it. It???s like the boy calling wolf to often.. No one believes it anymore.

Slamdunkt: I agree that there is a small percentage of black students who both want AND get a good education. I agree that most of the black students who get good grades are getting them at inferior schools and, hence, the grades do not indicate the same level of achievement that they would at school where most of the students are white. And, if one looks at the global picture and not just the showcasing of the small number of ???Asians??? who reside in areas of the world where most of the people are white, what can be said of ???black??? people???s education can be said of all nonwhite peoples education. We do not know what we need to know.

The smartest people could fix the problem. These people are the smartest of those who practice the global system of racism (white supremacy). Since these people believe that racism (white supremacy) is better than justice, they have, of course, chosen not to fix the problem.

Justice = a system encompassing the known universe in which no one is mistreated and in which, if any help is given, it is always given to the persons who need the most help.

Justice and the system of racism (white supremacy) cannot simultaneously exist.

As the mother of a bi-racial child this article really hits home for me. As I said on election night - Tonight the future is a better place for my son. As for some of the comments that were made about Obama's "heritage on either side" until you have been the parent of a biracial child you really cannot understand what obstacles they face. No one is saying that anyone who did not vote for Obama is racist but do not take away from the fact that whether you understand it or not, the world IS a better place for minority children who dream of one day ascending the heights of Barack Obama.

    • Posted By: slamdunkt @ 11/06/2008 4:40:05 PM

Interesting comment, but why? As Americans we have all had the same opportunities. The last 40 years have been nothing but remarkable for minorities in this country. The Caucasians in this country gave back and allowed minorities to enter their schools, read their books and work along side them. I don???t see where Obama can change much, we have already more than paid the debt of slavery by our actions of intertwining minorities into our society. As a matter of fact we don???t hear allot of thank you by the way.... But good for Obama, he used the system we gave him and now he???s president... now hopefully the minorities can get a handle on their crime ratios and violence and drop out rates.. Minorities really have to step it up in the US and help us all solve the crime, especially the inner city crime that they are entwined in 100% (Realize without minorities our crime rates would be the lowest in the world).. Anyway, it???s hard to hear the truth for some, its tough love I guess??? not racism but realism actually. We have to band together now and get the country patched up??? Maybe the election of Obama will give the minorities some pride? I don???t know, they have already received about everything imaginable to help them.. We have all but handed them a life on a platter. When it comes to pampering and privilege they have been given a blank check.. Maybe we can even the keel with Obama and get people off welfare and return the foreigners? Here???s to hoping anyway.. God Bless.

Ending an injustice does not equal "paying the debt".

Funny how you have such strong opionions on blacks and what they have been "given", even though you haven't experienced life from their view point.

Why not judge less and help more? Or at least walk a mile in their shoes before you do teh judging?

Slamdunkt, here's hoping that the national dialogue about race we anticipate will continue to unfold will open your eyes to the racism, classism and hateful ignorance of your statement. America belongs to minorities just as much as it does to whites--it's not "our society", as you say--and furthermore, your suggestion that "privilege" has ever belonged to anyone but whites simply reveals how much you stand to learn. I am hopeful for your enlightenment and pray you will open your mind and heart to see the real "realism" you fail to understand today--and better yet, to watch as that reality continues to change for the better for Americans of all colors in the years to come.

My parents raised me to "know my place" too, and I am white. My dad spent 30 years working for the city park department, much like Michelle Obama's dad worked for the water department. As a child, I mentioned at supper one night that I wanted to grow up to be president. My parents laughed and said, "Do you have any idea how much that costs? There's no way you will ever run for president. Look at President Reagan--you have to be a movie star to be able to afford to run for president."

Then when I was considering where to go to college, I wanted to apply to Princeton. My parents couldn't even afford the application fee, and weren't savvy enough to know that you could apply to have that waived. They also brought up transportation costs, not realizing that those could also be covered by financial aid. So I didn't even apply. Instead, I went to a state school, and even that was with scholarships and loans--they couldn't afford a dime. I dropped out of college to get married and have babies, which brought me much more parental approval than my studies in the liberal arts ever could.

As my kids got older, I went back to work, and after several entry-level office jobs, each one paying a few cents more an hour than the last, I am finally in the running for a professional-level job. If a guy who went to college on a scholarship can move to the White House, then this girl from the trailer park can move into the world of laptops, Blackberries, and business trips. Yes we can!!!

No offense but a lib arts degree isn't worth the paper it's printed on. You cant even be a teacher with that degree... NO you can't!!!!
But I do respect your hard work, just saying that degree wouldnt have done as much as your hard work has.

" You cant even be a teacher with that degree... NO you can't!!!!"

Nonsense. Of course you can, if you have a teaching certificate...which is necessary no matter what you major in.

I have 2 liberal arts degrees and am working on a third My husband has a few as well and works for the government. You know not what you speak. Maybe YOU can't do anything with it, but I doubt that YOU represent the majority of educated Americans.
