Obama is up against a very difficult next four years. When he was still a senator Obama was a large part of passing the Global Poverty Act, which is an act that would end severe poverty by 2025. The Borgen Project is also working to pass the Global Poverty Act. According to The Borgen Project:
$30 billion: Annual shortfall to end world hunger.
$540 billion: Annual U.S. Defense Budget.

Are bitter McCain supporters still trying to accuse voters of making a stupid mistake by electing Obama? The entire world is celebrating in a way we've never seen before. Ever. Are you so arrogant that you will still insist this was a mistake and that billions of people are stupid, or can you now admit that Obama was the right choice?

I was raised too use my brain and not to follow the thunderous herd. Many times in history "the world" has made errors in judgment. I am more concerned with this country making correct judgments rather than being popular. That's so middle schoolish.

Exactly, that is why I voted for Obama. Sarah Palin was not going to get nowhere near leading this country. She would have been even more of a puppet than Bush was and we saw what happened there. I didn't do it becuase of others, I make judgements on many things. I happen toagree with the herd this time, and find that most are making reasonable judgements. People are much more in tune with what is going on now. The old used up rhetoric will not work anymore, and for good reason. This country is finally maturing and I for one am glad to see it!

How can you not include China in this article?

    • Posted By: ZappoDaClown @ 11/06/2008 2:57:21 AM

Because China is NOT happy with the 'country's choice' and CNN is so OWNED by the liberal agenda they can't report negative ANYTHING about Obama.

my bad...I mean NEWSWEEK...however...they are so much the same, it probably doesn't matter. I listened to Obama's speech last night, and I so wanted to be excited about this presidency--I mean after all, he's over come so many boundaries, so fast--what a cool thing. The thing is, when he speaks, he says NOTHING. He says it very well, even contradicts himself from one speech to the next, but says it so nicely that no one says anything. He's a true motivational speaker. But all he said last night was that he was for change (didn't say to WHAT), he was for hope, didn't say IN what, and how we are a great nation and would keep us that way, and didn't say HOW he would do it. But he says it all really nice, and exciting...he can hold a crowd. The thing is, they don't know what he's holding them to.

You are insulting people's intelligence here son. It took six years for Bush to finally realize what he should have been doing from day one! Obama is already light years ahead of that, and people with intelligence support that. You really should understand that while you have an opinion, you will get flamed becuase you appear to talk down to people as if they are just stupid sheep. That insults me and I am sure many people that are very intellectual, own businesses, raise their kids, fight in wars, and have pride in thier country.

You are deaf in your own bias.

He talked about building the economy through the middle class (tax cuts for the middle class), dealing withe energy crisis by building a new energy industry thus also dealing with the climate change and creating new jobs, alliances to be rebuilt.

Acceptance speech are never detailed policy speeches. They are meant to point in a direction and he did. The debates, several prior speeches, coming policy speeches, and his website is ABUNDANTLY DETAILED with the change policies. In fewer keystrokes than it would take your hateful hands to type your false message, you could have found the information you lament for, if you really wanted to know.
