OH BOY HERE WE GO AGAIN WITH THE RACE CARD OH MY IT'S OK TO POKE FUN AT SARAH PALIN AND CALL HER A DUMB REDNECK IF YOU CAN'T TAKE IT DON'T DISH IT OUT LOSER
OH BOY HERE WE GO AGAIN WITH THE RACE CARD OH MY IT'S OK TO POKE FUN AT SARAH PALIN AND CALL HER A DUMB REDNECK IF YOU CAN'T TAKE IT DON'T DISH IT OUT LOSER
I agree. We should all refrain from the prejudice, racist, stereotypical commentary.
Well "Briteiz and "KIMETRa24" everyone doesn't feel the same way we do. And that's okay. But blatant ignorance that refuses to assist or learn just isn't tolerated around these parts (Johnny44). See he doesn't have a job and wouldn't know what it meant to work a 9 to 5 a day in his life. SOooo back to our regularly scheduled program,
......
HOOORRRAAAAAY to the OBAMA's
WHOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
The entire system of race was created to separate and divide. This is why we ahve fill out forms noting our race, which is unjut, uneithical and unreasonable
We know the country is at a turning point, but it says alot when all everyone says is "Obama is black". Obama is as much white as he is black, so conisstantly identifying him as only "black" says alot.
This is how HE was successful and WHY HE chooses not to make race and issue...BUT EVERYONE ELSE IS MAKING IT AN ISSUE. Don't hold me accountable for that. Put the blame where it belongs.
It is funny how the younger one is, the more color is irrelavant. The older we get, the more ignorant we become and are jaded by the experiences of life (or lack thereof).
Take of a lesson for the millions that voted for Obama. HIS CHARACTER, HIS INTELLIGENCE, HIS POISE AND DEMEANOR, HIS COMMITMENT TO HIS FAMILY AND HIS LOVE FOR THIS COUNTRY IS WHY HE WON THE ELECTION.
And for the ignorant, blacks may have voted for him 98%, but he could not have won the election with just the black vote. Mathematically, that would be impossible. White, black, asian, hispanice and others voted for him. NOW THAT IS WHAT I CALL A MELTING POT!!!!
Thank You
Thank you for saying it so well. I couldn't agree more.
His "love" for this country. If he loves this country so much then he should support his troops who are in a other countries defending outs and making sure that what happenen on 9/11 doesn't happen again. Instead he is against the war and in turn does not support our troops who are over there working to save our lives and his.
War should always be a last resort. Our troops are being overextended and not getting the care they need when they come home--and THAT is because this war was entered into rashly and without proper planning. Obama is cautious and rational--good qualities in a leader, I think.
Okay crazy one. I was in that war in Iraq. I don't recall Iraq doing anything to us. I will always be a Soldier and am proud to fight for my country, but still dont remeber Iraq doing anything to us. I see someone got into your head to.
If you're FOR the troops, then you are AGAINST the Iraq war.
Sending troops off to die for Halliburton's bottom line is NOT "supporting the troops".
You are a role model to the youth of today, especially our Black children. I'm 60 years old and you are my role model. You have an air of secured values. You know who you are and don't need to lend an ear to the "Doubters".... because "Yes, We Can Do It"!!!!!!! I'm a Social Worker from the Bronx, New York. I'm ready, willing and able to be one of your ambassadors to assist anyway I can with your expansion of "Americorps"
May God Bless Barack, You and your Children ...... T. Quider
Michelle,
You guys will do just fine! I just want to say this Your family is a loving family, keep it that way! You're going in a well balanced family, come out a well balanced family!
Obama,
You do all you got to do to keep that spark in Michelle's eyes that beams forth when she looks at you!
Don't be so ignorant....The President and First Lady will need help raising their children and I can't think of anyone better than Grandma. So we pay for her room and board or we pay for a nanny -- I pick Grandma over nanny anyday!
Well we should bill them for it then...I didn't see George Sr. or Barbara living there on our dime. Ridiculous.
DapperDame:
So, are you telling me that you were behind Bush when he won over Kerry??? I doubt it! And what did you do to support him???
I have not agreed with everything he has done the last 4 years but the treatment of him by liberals has been disgusting!!!
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122584386627599251.html
Why don't democrats practice what they preach?? And to tell us to move because we don't agree with you or with our current president is really pushing it too far!! Just incase you forgot, this is a free country and we are 'supposed' to be allowed to have our own ideas!!! Sorry to break it to you but it is our country too whether we support the current president of not!!!
Comment: Sorry to burst your bubble but I was for Bush when he got elected because he was the better man for the job at the time. So sorry, but I was not and never have 'whinned'. I did what I could to help my friends and family during the difficult times which is what YOU should be doing now instead of bashing our new President. Bush was the better man then, Obama is the better man now..Period! It is what it is for the next 4 years at a minimum so as I said, if you dont like it, and dont want to be positive about it....LEAVE!
I totally agree with your argument until you tell me to LEAVE my own country. My point is, we all have a RIGHT to think and believe what we want. This is a free country. You however, do not have a right to tell me to leave just because we don't not see life the same. You don't even have a right to tell me to leave if I am saying something you don't like. I don't think people should attack each other but I certainly believe in the right to voice my opinion and have my own thoughts. No one can tell me to leave my country for any reason!!!
I voted for Obama the same way I vote for any candidate. I listened to what he had to say. I thought of my children who are talking of moving away with my grandchildren because they can't afford to stay here. I thought of my friends who have no health insurance because they can't afford it. I thought of my daughter who can't afford college, my son who might not be able to buy a house. I thought of how my husband and I worked hard to provide for our family. Obama when he spoke seemed to understand all that as well. That's why I voted for him.
Oh excuse me but the majority vote was not from a bunch of jobless citizens. The votes Obama received came from every economic class. Oh by the way, it is payweek and yes my check is directly deposited into my money market account. And of course my government badge allowed me in the doors earlier on Nov. 5 to calm the atomosphere from my disgruntled employees. It's funny how no one ever had a problem with the voting process until now.
To (Vanessa2008) You are an ignorant an immature ass .... I bid a good-luck to Michelle Obama and her family in moving their family to Washington, and having a safe and good life ahead.
And they will certainly need all the luck they can get...on all counts
She's got some big hips too man you could block a barn door with those ugly too her face is weird looking looks like a chipanzee or something
Take it from a gay man who doesn't find women at all attractive. Michelle Obama is a very attractive lady.
I agree with that for myself, this never was a race issue, it was always about where the candidates sttod on the issues. My wife and I voted for Oboma in the primary, but later became very concerned about his positions as they related to protecting the Constitution. As a Republican, and a military retiree who deployed, I was never excited about Bush and felt it was wrong to go into Iraq: but I was more upset when the democrats, knowing perfectly well the same intelligence Bush had, played games with not shutting this down and prefered to keep it going for their own political gain. Bush had it wrong from a Constitutional basis; the Democrats appear they may be moving away from it as well, though from a different angle. So to those you say we should move if we don't agree, I would say this country was based on an ideal that isn't found anywhere else. I would therefore rather support my president, and press on to protect the constituion in areas where we have our differences.
Nice article. The more I read and learn about Michelle and Barack the more impressed I am with them. They aren't "made up" for the campaign, they are real people who are thoughtful and who dont respond to questions with canned responses. I wish them the best!
Theresa, Tumwater, WA
Let's see ho Michelle *really* is. . .can't take interviews BEFORE the transition at face value when not even the Obama family knows how that transition will effect them. Still, I like Michelle so far. Peace.
get over your shelf and the ignorants he won and he won fear so get over it the color of your skin does not make you his wife is beautiful more than many of you can say get some shelf confidences and stop hatting it is not going to get you any were god bless presedent elect Obama and family and god bless america.
It's amazing that a woman who was never proud of her country until the last year can end up being the First Lady. There's really nothing to be proud of in our 200+ year history? I think she's pretty ungrateful and I hope she works a little harder to unify & be optimistic like her husband.
Are you aware of the institutions of slavery and lynching in the USA, Jim Crow, the institutionalized rape of black women (most black Americans have white blood) ??? hence the ???one drop??? rule ??? created by white men (who would no doubt deem Obama black (polite description)) who wanted to ensure their position on the ???food-chain???, the horrors of the Civil Rights struggle???Birmingham, Selma, Jackson, Chaney, Goodman & Schwerner, Emmett Till, institutionalized racism which (eventually) led to Affirmative Action ??? from which white women have received the most benefit, the fact that many Democrats changed their political affiliation to Republican because of the Civil Rights Act of 1964???
Have you ever seen Eyes on the Prize? Many citizens can answer yes to each of these questions. It would be wise and beneficial to exercise empathy in order to better understand why there is so much pride and jubilation among so many of us -- black, white, Native American (suffered untold injustices), Michelle Obama, Michelle Smith, and so many Americans regardless of their melan-content. Historically speaking, sure, we can be proud of so much, but one can easily see why there is much to be ashamed of ??? or to definitely not take pride in. John McCain and President Bush have both acknowledged this in the last 48 hours.
On a happier note, Mrs. Obama is accomplished and family-values define her. She will perform wonderful tasks during their tenure.
First of all - most of you bloggers might want to familarize yourself with 'spell-check'. Second of all - in the article Michelle talks about the lack of support groups for the military. I live in a huge military community - near Camp Pendleton and we take very good care of our guys and their families. The local paper and the marine base paper had continual info - so whatever city/state she is referring to should be embarrassed!
Third of all - I am a union worker and I voted for McCain. That said - most of his supporters LISTENED to his speech and will act accordingly. But, yeah, give us some time to recover from OUR disappointment. Obama will be our president and no matter which SIDE you are on - you should support him and give him a chance. And remember, Bush may have not been the best - but he has kept us safe for nearly 3,000 days and made some thoughtful Supreme Court appointments - and THEY are the ones that governing our country for LIFE.
Cograts to President Elect Obama from a staunch MATURE Independent California Republican! and best of luck cuz you are going to need it!
Why don't you try not sounding like too much of an elitist... cut people some slack with the spelling.
Having a basic education isn't "elitist".
It is an elitist to assume that it's a lack of education and not just a typo... there are many people out there with a 'basic' education who might struggle with spelling. I just think it sounds really petty.
Interesting argument.
BUT, when you weigh that against the fact that McCain voted AGAINST the Civil Rights Act of 1990, voted AGAINST the Equal Pay Act for Women, was the only head of state that voted AGAINST the MLK holiday, AND called the Confederate flag "a symbol of heritage" just to appease the voters in S. Carolina. - I feel much safer w/ Michelle's particular experiance w/ race when she was IN SCHOOL.
Based on McCain's voting record, it's safe to say that his view for ALL Americans was not EQUAL.
BUT hey, if you share that view, I can understand your argument.
Debbie1234510--
I doubt if you are suggesting that our President-elect is gay or a murderer [by the way, with your Bible close by, couldn't you look up how to spell Gomorrah], so perhaps you could explain what you are talking about.
What i am talking about is Gay marriages and abortion, he believes in both. The bible (the best book in the world) speaks strongly against both!!!!!! I didnt know we were in a spelling competetion
The bible (a work of fiction by many human authors) barely mentions homosexuality and never mentions abortion. Are you ready to follow all of the rules laid out in Leviticus? Should we stone people for eating shell fish, amongst other absurd things?
If it is a work of fiction why should you be worried about how many times it mentions homosexuality or whether or not abortion is mentioned in it at all. The simple fact is that when a child is aborted (1st, 2nd or 3rd trimester as in partial birth) for no better reason than it will be inconvenient to have is called murder. That is mentioned in the Bible but of course, it is a work of fiction.
Actually he is not for gay marriage. Perhaps civil unions, but not actual marriage. He believes, for example, gay couples should be able to visit one another in the hospital if one is sick. Yes the Bible is a good book, but we do not live in a Christian run country. The United States is a Democracy not a Theocracy. Marriage is just a word and should be available to all.
I believe the Obama Family living in the White House will bring an air of tranquility, honesty, and excitement to the American people. We'll witness a balancing act of politics, personal life, and perserverence in action on a daily basis. I am so utterly proud of our new President and his family and have renewed fervor in the American way of life.
I knew if I waited long enough, my name would be the same as a First Lady's and here it is! The ignorant, or as I like to say, ignant ,people of the world will spew their racial venom but Michelle Obama brings grace and charm to the White House. She's a beautiful creation of an educated and well-spoken woman.
