I just can't get over all the racist b.s. being written on here. You Reps were in control for 8 yrs. To try to raise our voices democratically we were lablelled as being unpatriotic during your reign. The people have spoken through the vote. Instead of being so negative, why don't you help our new President? Get politically active at the local level/state level if you are so dissatisfied? You don't see such ugliness and violent talk from the Democrats. We demonstrate usually peacefully. We don't call for the death of a person. We are supposed to be Americans, welcoming to all. Instead you all are preaching fear, hate, etc. Give the Obamas a chance. He must love our country to put up with all that's gone on in the campaign. We are living in modern times....catch up and join present day. Keep an open mind.

Wow - I did rip on Michelle as a person from what I can see. The truly sad thing is Obama is supposed to be the link that breaks racism and prejudice, but it is doing nothing but flaring. The irony to the story is that he is half black AND half white! And these blogs are talking about black OR white. Instead of a time for togetherness, it is reliving segregation. So if his supporters support the idea of change, then why are they still promoting the same old practices of black against white, or white against black? I guess his ad commercial shouldn't have stated about McCain keeping our country the same, it should have said him.

I did not vote for Obama because of his values and ideals. Not because of his color. I could care less if he was black, blue or purple. I am afraid he is not what he portrays himself to be. Young, enthusiastic, yes.
Knowledgeable about how to be the President, No.

OBAMAYOMAMA AND "ENOUGH ALREADY"

Okay everyone all jokes aside this time. Let me clarify some things to the 5th graders of our class.

I'm not saying you have to leave if you don't agree with the man I am saying at least try and offer other alternatives and solutions to the ideas you don't like. That's what your Senator is for "GO VOICE YOUR OPINIONS" but there are some bloggers who have mentioned that they just cannot live with the fact that he is president and basically life would be better if they just slit their wrists and throats. So for those who have no words of encouragement, no words of kindness, no type of help, and just can't bear to be on this continent for one moment I say.... and i quote

"GIVEthe man a chance!!! He can't do anyworse than Baby Bush and if so then that's a helluva feat!. C'mon folks, get on the ban wagon. If not, find a way to help it move up the hill rather than being like dead weight plopping off the back of it but still holding on. LIKE I SAID .....

EXCERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO FIND A BETTER LED COUNTRY!!!

I agree with (oi8afly@), we as Americans should be proud that not only did we vote an African-American man into office, but a man who is working for ALL AMERICANS. We should be proud that he & his family is willing to sacrifice themselves to see that we unite as a nation. I just pray for President Obama & his family's safety. He gave me & many others hope that YES WE CAN do it. And as for the person who stated earlier that the new First Lady was UGLY, the only thing that is UGLY, is that statement. She has to be a strong women to be have an even stronger husband.

While I did not cast my vote for Obama he is the new president elect. We need to unite now and stop bickering. Come what may, good or bad, we will have to deal with it. (still a republican, still Proud of America)
I can't say I am happy with the choice America made but life doesn't always work the way we like.

I think we have a wonderful, beautiful, and special 1st family entering the whitehouse and a truly gifted 44th President in Obama. I don't know if even he knows how gifted he is. Obama not only has reignited the american dream back into the souls of this nation but has reminded all americans, and the whole world, what the USA was built upon - the belief that nothing is impossible if we only believe YES WE CAN. That has been what I have been taught and teach those aound me my whole life! The American Dream has never been one of a material possesion of items, but the freedom to live one's dreams if they truly believe in them. Too many people in this world arent allowed dreams. They are born into some one else's paradigm of what the world should be and are never given the liberty to dream or the concept that yes they can. Americans have that right, that freedom to dream. Americans have that right to believe YES THEY CAN. When you combine a dream with a belief that YES YOU CAN, anything is possible ... there are no limits to what one can do!!!
As far as vjmhmom's posting and all those who continue the negativity, they must remember that in the United States of America, the majority rules. The majority of Americans have said Barack Obama will be the 44th President of the USA with a landslide election. No president has made it into the whitehouse with 100% of the vote, but once voted in, has been accepted as our President, PERIOD! Anyone who claims to be an American and can't accept the decision of the majority now needs to examine their own insecurities and issues and deal with them ASAP.

Ahhh.... You know, it doesn't matter about all the racist posts about gorillas and negros and welfare and all the other ignorant comments. President Barack H. Obama is here, he's it, he's in!!!!! Nothing can take that joy away. Every time I read negative racist post or I listen to a negative racist conservative talk show I smile, I laugh!! Because these people are scared. Your worst fear, your grandparents and great-grand parents and great-greats worst fear has come to pass. Say what you want, call him what you want. That doesn't take away who he is. Your president, my president, OUR PRESIDENT!!!! :-) feels so good to say that.

WOW, I am so happy to hear our First Lady speak with such great wisdom. I know that she will be one of the greatest First Lady s ever. I appreciate her commitment to her family and all American families. What a increditable to for change. Our country will forever be the greatest country in world for our desire for change and hope for the future. I will prayer for our President and First Lady that they will continue to be encourage by the American people;s desire for great leadership. I believe we are now living in a free America!
