    There is only one reason why Obama won the presidential election. Study your history. Whenever there has been a financial crisis, the party that is in power at the time goes out, and the opposite party comes in. Only one time in all of American history has this not been the case. If Obama does not fix the financial problems that have occured as a result of Wall Street, he, too, will be out in four years.

    Some people can be so ignorant. Lack of education= ignorance. Michelle Obama represents EVERYTHING a First Lady embodies...what a well rounded, intelligent, cool First Lady she will make. =) It's a proud moment in American History so be proud as Americans.

    To "BlackLikeMe" / I am seriously happy that Obama has been elected. BUT i take issue with your comments that Canada would be "GLAD" to have the American's that aren't happy with the outcome of the election. WHY on earth would we want them or even need them? We are not a dumping ground.

    Now that they are elected to office, I, for one - and republican - am going to back our new President Elect and his beautiful First Lady. They will represent our country well and with renewed vigor we should all work to make the transition for them and their children as smooth as possible. I make memorial quilts and bears for families that have lost a loved one, such as President Elect just lost his Grandmother. I would love to make one for them and bears for the girls.

    It's always nice to have extended family around when you have young children. What it would cost to have one "extra" person there is peanuts compared to the money fradulently spent by Bush/Cheney to "redistribute" wealth to their already wealthy cronies. I hope the whole family moves in...let Obama focus on national and global issues.

    Reading the comments makes me ashamed to be an American. It lets me know that there are still people in this world that thinks by degrading someone else makes them bigger. Do those that dont support the Obama camp think that McCain and Palin could do better? Palin could not even hold an intelligent interview. She didn't know anything. You could tell her words were fed to her because she didn't have a rebuttal to the follow uo questions. Picking Obama was picking the best of two evils. Give the man a chance. After 4 years you can put Palin on office and see if she can even read.

      Comment: If people were truly honestly good people we would all stop talking like everyone else is wrong and we are right. I know that my vote counted for something good and I am glad Michelle and Barrak are going to be our next president and first lady of the united states. It makes no difference of their color. I just hope and pray that someone doesn't harm any hair on either one of them and that they can find some way to help single parents with children have better lives. Because right now I am a single mom with two kids working two jobs and have been single for 15 years and want to find a way to get out of debt and be able to truly live the life I deserve. I am not asking for a hand out but a hand up. So many people want hand outs in this country and I am working hard just need a hand up to make my kid's lives better than mine was growing up. And community, people helping people is just what we need just like Michelle says in her article here. Community helping community. That is what we need to help get our country back on track no more bickering no more arguing no more hate and lies and more crossing the boundries and loving our neighbor. Please people love one another stop the hate.

    I am still proud to say I voted for George Bush he was and is the better choice over Kerry. I am tired of him being accused for everything. People learn how your government works, it is the Democratic contolled congress which makes the laws not the President. I am proud I voted for McCain. HOWEVER I am horrified at the racist, rude remarks being posted about Michelle. I do not like her views or what she stands for but to call her names and label her by her race is anti-American. We should all be figuring how to keep our households going and start picking our new President for 2012, not Obama, and stop the racial hatred!

        Patriotism has nothing to do with putting you hand over your heart. Patriotism is standing up for the issues that make the country better and helping a neighbor (even if it is a nasty neighbor) b/c it is what GOD SAID TO DO.

    Wow really Is Barrak and Michelle Black. I thought all men were created equal under God's eyes and if I remember correctly we also have laws in our constitution that state all men are created equally. So prejudice people from one white woman to the rest of the world get over this crap and grow up and start looking beyond color. God himself says there is neither jew nor greek nor bond nor free for all are one under God. And this country was built on freedom of Religion and expression and believe me it still is so grow up and start loving your brother as you would love yourself. I am so tired of the bickering and arguing over who is best. I prayed and thought long and hard and God is the one who is still leading this country not man and his thoughts and ideas. If some of you would of been following the campaign from the beginning you should of know that Obama would be our President.
