"OBAMAYOMAMA" (still laughing as i type this creeps name) you have truly shown that you dropped out of school in the 6th grade and just said "F" it. LOL Learning is just too hard for you. Pick up a dictionary and define the two terms

    DAPPER

    DAME

    you dumb@@@.

(this gets funnier by the moment).

Yes! Thank goodness we can all be united now. Nothing will seperate us and we will all be so excited to do the good works of Obama! Thank God for his election. I can't wait for the goodies he will giving out to all of us. oops, I guess I just realized I won't be one of those because I work! Oh well, thank God that I'm not selfish and will be looking forward to "giving" my good hard earned cash to a government that will decide who and where it goes and welfare programs that have such fantastic track records of success. Like for instance the "growth" of the African American Family from a mom/dad children unit to todays "family". Of course I suppose the other good thing will be folks like me who don't really won't to "give" to this won't have to worry too long, because with all the "bad" and "evil" corporations needing to be shut down, there won't be any jobs, so I will be able to join the ranks of those who don't work and we can all be miserably happy together.

Fortunately, I don't really think this will happen; however, it certainly could be possible if Lord Barack has his way! Pray that he won't and he will just be able to sit there and smile the next four years away!

STILL A BOY FROM ARKANSAS - YOUR ENVY IS SHOWING BOY. I KNOW IT HURTS TO SEE US MOVING UP BUT GET USED TO IT - WE ARE THE BRIGHTER OF THE TWO RACES YOU CANNOT STOP US. THIS IS NOT 1920s - TRYING ASSASSINATION IS SUICIDAL AND ANOTHER THING - IT IS NOT ONLY BLACK AMERICANS YOU WOULD HAVE TO CONTEND WITH - THERE ARE BLACK OTHERS WHO IF OBAMA AT 47 IS ASSASINATED THERE ARE 47 WHITE FAMILIES THAT WOULD PAY DEARLY FOR IT. I PROMISE YOU THAT

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE OBAMA FAMILY, AMERICA VOTED AND WE GOT WHAT WE WANT. I SHALL BE KIND TO THOSE WHOM DID NOT WANT SUCH, BUT NOBODY IS A LOOSER HERE. WE MADE HISTORY. BARACK OBAMA WAS THE BEST CANDIDATE AND THAT IS THAT. PERIOD OVER AND OUT.

With each hateful comment here the soul of American dies bit by bit. "...one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all..." become just words with no meaning as the facade of unity and justice crumbles to dust and the ugly racial hatred rears its head. Please stop ....stop please....

    • Posted By: eppie @ 11/06/2008 5:02:46 PM

At what point does this nation die completely? When the ACLU takes "under God" out of the statement you just used to make your point?

Comment: If people were truly honestly good people we would all stop talking like everyone else is wrong and we are right. I know that my vote counted for something good and I am glad Michelle and Barrak are going to be our next president and first lady of the united states. It makes no difference of their color. I just hope and pray that someone doesn't harm any hair on either one of them and that they can find some way to help single parents with children have better lives. Because right now I am a single mom with two kids working two jobs and have been single for 15 years and want to find a way to get out of debt and be able to truly live the life I deserve. I am not asking for a hand out but a hand up. So many people want hand outs in this country and I am working hard just need a hand up to make my kid's lives better than mine was growing up. And community, people helping people is just what we need just like Michelle says in her article here. Community helping community. That is what we need to help get our country back on track no more bickering no more arguing no more hate and lies and more crossing the boundries and loving our neighbor. Please people love one another stop the hate.

I find it very hard to stomache the comment by Michele that she values all opinions. This is the same woman who states she is ashamed of America. As an American I am offendedat her narrow minded view. I happen to be proud to be an American, no society is perfect, but surely, we are not as bad as she believes us to be. I am worried that I don't fit into her elitist persepctive. It is going to be a long four years.

    • Posted By: christy25148 @ 11/06/2008 4:11:06 PM

you aren't thinking straight... lets put this election which was made negative by the republicans smear campaign behind us... accept the fact that a brilliant black woman is YOUR first lady for at least the next 4 years and get over the fact that most smart americans didn't fall for the accusations hurled out of the republican party. you had your chance for 8 years, Bush drove this country into the ground. I for one am extreemly proud of what was done on Tuesday, and everyone who didn't vote for Obama should get over it and lets move forward. Ms. Obama is smart, beautiful and she has her own opinions just like you. This is not about black or white it was about who would best serve as our President... and that is Barrack Obama hands down...

      • Posted By: errnkme @ 11/06/2008 5:00:00 PM

In addition Christy, the big businesses, Wall Street, a Democartic house, and a Repubilcan president, that allowed inappropriate lending go on., but most important our own greed, are the down fall of our ecomony. It is an impossibilty for one human to destroy any economy, we are all to blame for this mess.

NOW back to the relevant topic Michelle Obama

Your reply is that of a biggot. YOu have no idea of my backgroud yet you assume I am Republican. You are able to access any media file in any library or your home computer to witness the actual footage of Michelle Obama's statments. Please do your research befor entering irrelevant replies. I continue to stand by my comments I am proud of my country, We are not the horrible people she stated us to be. I believe in standing in respect and saluting the Americal flag.

I am very glad that I have witness the fact that some of the people in the united states are getting over the black and white issues that we have had for so long. Mr. Obama is not just a black man but he is also a white man, he has lived on both sides of the fence where he probley was not welcomed as a white man some point in his life and where he was not welcomed as a black man at sometime in his life. This is where us as the people of the united states needs to know we are one...not anything else...that is what we need to focus on to make anything work!!!

  • Posted By: tangaray29 @ 11/06/2008 4:00:36 PM

Sadie, so are you saying that If Barack Obama was unknown, Joe American walking past you down the street, that it would matter to you at that time that his mother is white? I am the mother of two BLACK children by my white ex-husband. We all acknowledge that the kids are black. Do you know why? Because that is how society treats my children. The kids love their dad, are close to his family, and respect their heritage, but even at their young ages, they recognize subtle differences in the way that they are treated from their more obviously white counterparts. Try not to be so naive as to think that Barack Obama has been afforded all of the priveleges that white males his age have had at their fingertips. It is also not necessary for you to be so bitter that maybe, just maybe, our President-Elect actually relates a little bit more to a browner persuasion than you.

    • Posted By: SuzieReeve @ 11/06/2008 4:36:46 PM

I am very tired of the poor me mentality of black people saying that they don't have the benefits that white people do. It really isn't true any longer and it shouldn't be a factor in any conversation.

I disagree with you, in principle, and in practicality. I am a white female, I am on Native American decent, with seven children. I am a small business owner and I work VERY hard to make a living. My son is a single dad who cannot afford to live alone with his two kids since he is not a college graduate. WHY isn't he a graduate? Because I could not afford to send him to school and he could not get the benefits of the grants until he was 24 years old unless he was first married. See his ability to get the grant was based on MY income, which isn't enough to feed my other kids and pay the house payment most of the time, but it was supposedly enough to pay for his college. Now had he been a black student - there are all kinds of potential scholarships, grants and benefits that he could have gotten as a minority. And in case you are wondering his GPA was 3.4 so he was not failing, but he was not getting a scholorship either.

So, now at 25, working full-time, with two preschool children, he is trying to make it going to school part-time. He is NOT On welfare or medicaid - we all pitch in as a family and struggle to get by. But DO NOT tell me that we are privileged because we are white and not black. That is reverse discrimination.

I am not a racist, I have dear friends and family members of multi-culteral backgrounds and I am proud of them all. But, don't kid yourself - discrimination has flipped and Affirmitive Action has become another form of discrimination in this Country. Stop believing the propaganda of another generation - look to the generation you are living in for the answers.

      • Posted By: tangaray29 @ 11/06/2008 4:59:22 PM

S.R., with all due respect, I don't think that I was putting a "poor me" mentality out there, by any means. I am college educated, came from almost nothing (without the use of welfare and medicaid) and worked my way up the ladder. I work in a white collar environment, own a house and all of the other things that ALL Americans have the right to possess. I was an A student, and although I had a small scholarship (that was merit based, and not based on my race), I paid for the rest of my education with federal loans. I am sorry that things have been difficult for you and your family, but grind your Affirmative Action axe elsewhere, for although I agree with the reasons why affirmative action came about, I don't agree with it, either. I want to be recognized based on what I bring to the table as an articulate woman, not because I am black.

At the same time, you don't know what it is to be black in the south. I am not believing any propaganda of another generation, I have lived through this mess.

This win for Obama couldn't come at a better time.

  • Posted By: CIB867 @ 11/06/2008 4:53:30 PM

Really, Rebecca318? Just MOVE? That's not what you whining democrats did for the last several years. I seem to remember so many threats that if Bush was re-elected in 2004, you were going to leave the country in protest. quote:"If you dont want to be a part of the solution REGARDLESS of who was elected, then you are part of the problem and you should just us all a favor and move out of the U.S.!" Why didn't you follow your own advice during the last couple years? Oh, and is this your idea of unity? Your way, or get out? Nice.

    • Posted By: Rebecca318 @ 11/06/2008 4:58:57 PM

Sorry to burst your bubble but I was for Bush when he got elected because he was the better man for the job at the time. So sorry, but I was not and never have 'whinned'. I did what I could to help my friends and family during the difficult times which is what YOU should be doing now instead of bashing our new President. Bush was the better man then, Obama is the better man now..Period! It is what it is for the next 4 years at a minimum so as I said, if you dont like it, and dont want to be positive about it....LEAVE!

  • Posted By: DapperDame @ 11/06/2008 4:52:35 PM

"obamayomama" now this name is quite peculiar ( i know you don't even know what that means lol) You too are another on my list of laughs. Place him on "HATE ISLAND" with the rest of 'em lol. I'm sure they will start someother new form of predudice. ..(as I sit back laughing at how ridiculous and dumb your 7 year old immature screen name sounds)....

    signed... dying over here laughing...

You guys know your rights so well..... so excercise them.... EXCERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO LEAVE LOL LOL

For those of you who are not happy with the outcome of this election, stop complaining and blaming and hating. Just MOVE!!! you've got many places that you can go outside of the US if you feel that strongly about Obama being President. Seriously! We have too much to work together on right now to make sure our kids are ok and our future is ok. All this hatred and 'opinions' about things that MOST of these poeple have no idea about in the first place is rediculous! This is the UNITED States of America! Get it PEOPLE, UNITED!!! iIf you dont want to be a part of the solution REGARDLESS of who was elected, then you are part of the problem and you should just do us all a favor and move out of the U.S.! Period! I am sure Canada or Mexico even (if you dont like the cold) would be GLAD to have you! If you are afraid of ONE WORLD ORDER.....Geesh, I guess there's still .....??? MARS???

    • Posted By: Imreadyru @ 11/06/2008 4:58:25 PM

We don't need to Move to Mars.... Isn't earth in enought trouble geeez

  • Posted By: andilem_L @ 11/06/2008 4:47:19 PM

For those of you who keep tell us to "Move On" why don't you give us a little while to moar over our lost. I voted for McCain and am feeing very disappointed that he lost becuase I felt he was the better man. I am not the only person. I worry about what kind of changes will happen but realise that both men want what they feel is best for the country. I will give Obama a chance and will suppost him. I hope that all those who voted for Obama will give the rest of us some time to get over McCains loss. It might take some of us, including me, more then just two days. I also hope that those how voted for McCain will give Obama a chance.

    • Posted By: fobulust @ 11/06/2008 4:58:13 PM

I agree it will take some time and it's clearly stated with how you voiced your opinion that you're not ignorant or naive about the facts of life as like others who posted earlier. It's the way people speak, afterall, we type how we speak and it's obvious when stupidity is the foundation!!!!

  • Posted By: CHARMH @ 11/06/2008 4:35:33 PM

People always think the grass is greener on the other side..Canada & Mexico are struggling like the US is!!!. We need to work together as a people, no matter who leads us!
Remember, judge not as you will also be judged!!
Just get off your soapboxes & get to work..if you worked as hard physically as you do emotionally then we'd get a LOT done!!!

    • Posted By: Rebecca318 @ 11/06/2008 4:41:04 PM

      Do you have a solution?

      • Posted By: littlemiss_scrubtech @ 11/06/2008 4:52:21 PM

I work quite hard thank you very much. I don't like them, but I am not hating on them because it is pointless. Good luck to them. Maybe he'll surprise all of who are honestly afriad of what is going to happen here in the U.S. now that he is president.
If it gets too bad, though, I'm out.. I'm thinking Australia...

        • Posted By: Doc Howl @ 11/06/2008 4:58:09 PM

If you love democracy so little that you would leave because "your side" didn't win, then go.

And let posterity forget that you were ever here.

  • Posted By: TCParr0308 @ 11/06/2008 3:07:47 PM

I did not vote for President-elect Obama but he is my president now and I will support him as long as he is our President. I think what people fail to understand is that this country is in a real situation and Obama has given the country hope for change. Will he be perfect? NO! Will he make mistakes? OF COURSE! But what president hasn't? He has a tough road ahead of him but we as Americans all need to keep things in perspective. It wasn't a race that put him into office. It was the American people. We have to stop all of this back-biting and race slapping and come together as a nation.

  • Posted By: PBHO2012 @ 11/06/2008 3:09:05 PM

To my Brother and Sister Americans,
All six of my grandchildren in AZ (ages 8-17) listened closely to the presidential campaign speeches and debates. Each of them decided for themselves who was their presidential hopeful. Every day in school, teachers and students alike voiced vicious and malicious allegations toward the presidential candidate my grandchildren chose. Every day they came home concerned.
As a family, we drove 150 miles round trip to cast our votes, then came home to eagerly watch together for the outcomes of this historical election. We cried tears of joy in appreciation for the centuries of sacrifice that made it possible for an election like this to take place in America in 2008.
The next day, every one of my grandchildren came home from school with stories of how the other students were enacting murders of our new Commander in Chief and all those who voted for him.
Tell me, is this the environment we intended to create for Americans, for our children by our irresponsible spewing of hatred, lies, judgment, slander, prejudice and ....? Have we long forgotten how to disagree peacefully and respectfully? Have we lost the concept of disagreeing without being enemies? I suspect we have lost a great deal more.
We learned today, that our schools' events are not isolated. What are we going to do about this parents, grandparents, relatives and neighbors? Our actions today impact tomorrow. Our posterity depends on our example. We have some serious soul searching and some very important decisions to make in the coming days, weeks and months. May we make them with reverence and humility. Thank you.

    • Posted By: vlamb @ 11/06/2008 4:56:47 PM

I am so sorry that your children should have to hear all that. The viciousness of this election has made adults heartsick. It is not something to which children should be exposed. When are we going to stop?

    • Posted By: Pearlann @ 11/06/2008 3:42:39 PM

Wow, where do you live? I have a hard time believing that sort of thing happens in school. I have 2 children in Public Schools and our expirence has been quite the opposite. I have been frustrated because the schools seem too scared to discuss the election at all out of fear. They try so hard to remain so neutral that these poor kids barely know or understand what is happening in their own country. I admire you for encouraging your grandchildren to be interested, to observe, to gain knowledge for themselves, and to think and make their own decisions. I'm sorry they have encountered hostility. It's not like that everywhere. It's good to hold your head high, stand up for and know what you believe in.

  • Posted By: oi8afly @ 11/06/2008 4:48:14 PM

Apparently no one has learned the big lesson of this election. We are not black and white, we are not a color we are Americans. Born here, raised here, and proud to be a part of this great country in this amazing time.
No one I know has ever owned a slave, taken over Indian lands, or been forced to bow to a King.
Our own prejudices are the real issue here. Maybe seeing a black man elected to the highest office of our country will make Americans reevaluate their views. Understand that it was not just black people that voted Obama in to office. Voting for a Presidential candidate because of race or gender is ignorance at work, we have the privilege of voting our leaders in to office why wouldn't you take the time to vote in the best?

    • Posted By: justplainoldme @ 11/06/2008 4:55:07 PM

Good comment. Americans should label themselves as Americans. Not African-americans, or Irish-Americans, etc. Only if YOU came here from another country and became a citizen. Not based on your ancestors.

Let me tell you something, I voted for Senator Obama, I have a well paying job. I am a Reservist and have been for over 22 years. I put myself through school, I have an MBA. I own my own home, don't own credit card debits. Have no kids, so please get your facts straight. And, yes, I resent the fact that over half my property tax goes to people like you who probably live in an apartment with a bunch of kids and pay no property tax. So, grow up, and start contributing to society in a positive way instead of making ludicrous statements!
