ahuman, yeah, this is supposed to be about Michelle Obama but I can't resist commenting on some of the comments posted.

Sadie0902, i understand your anger in this. Maybe I can help clarify...for years and obviously even today,,,,when a baby was born of a white mother or black father or vice versa.....there was the "one drop rule" that was stated by the white community...that even if there was one drop of "black" blood...they were black. So for years whites and even blacks have been programmed to think that way. It should not be and both sides can share in the pride that their "race" was involved. But from a true point....only one race should matter......the human race. The color of our skins are no different than polar bears being white and brown bears being brown..they are both bears. The funny thing is there are a lot of white people believe me based on the "one drop" rule that Barack Obama is only black...until they are reminded by the likes of you and me that his mother was white....not only that he was raised, raised by a white family....his color of being brown and becoming president is a testament to the fact that a Majority of America does not see his color..but alas there will be some that do from both sides. So keep fighting that battle whenever you can, correct those whenever you can, because not only will it help our country and the world..it will help a little closer to my home...my son and my daughter have the same multiracial background as our President Elect. Interestingly, I think blacks in America are forgetting a major point. Raina Kelly says to her son "that you are as black as the man who sits in the Oval Office", but remember President-elect Obama is one HALF white! He has never denigrated his heritage on either side and so should you do the same. He is as proud of his white heritage as his black heritage. Raina, my comment to you - and to all Americans - is simply this. Mr. Obama is a person living in a free country and has done what all people do on the way to the White House. Dream, make a plan, and work hard to get there. Please do not forget this. Thank you.

I love that people are now not allowed to voice an opinion in this country anymore without being called 'bitter grapes'! I think we needed a unified front when Bush was re-elected over Kerry and that certainly DID NOT happen from the liberals. Now, you all expect us to just back up a man who we do not trust, believe, agree with or support. Interesting how the tables turn when you have a democrat in office. The rest of the world could read all the hatespewing that was happening 4 years ago but no one expected you guys to join behind the Republicans (and trust me you never did!!!).

And honest, enough with the race card!! I really don't care if he is black, white or orange so stop making that a part of your arguement!!! Some blacks voted for Obama because he was black. Many of them admitted that. Some whites voted for McCain because he was white. Deal with it and stop making it so one sided!!!

Wow this is amazing.... Just twenty years ago none of this would have been possible. Has anyone really thought that a mixed race person could become president of the "United States". Are we at war within the country with which we hold sole dearly? Time will only tell us the true outcome of the election.

President Obama is black. Our country decided that for him. I am the white mother of 4 bi racial children. That's what "they" call them now. And as a white mother, I have 4 black children. Their birth certificates confirm they are black and 95% of white people would tell you they are black. White people would tell you they are black, also, just by their skin color, not by mine. But the real question is what does it matter? It surely doesn't to me. I raised 4 wonderful children. Not white children and not black children. Just absolutely wonderful children. God love them, God love us all ... and not just those of us here in the US. Sheesh. Catch up people!!
