Alot of these comments are just ridiculous. Obama won! Lets see what he is going to do know he said the hard work starts now. Eveyone needs to get on board. As far as the comment from GeneralKnowledge. Why in the world would Michelle turn to Palin about raising kids when they have a daughter having a baby underage and not married. The Obama's are doing a great job with their girls and are going to continue to focus on their children there is alot of love in their family. Stop all the black and white crap it is 2008 and people

Intelligent lady and I'll bet she won't insist on sharing the vice-presidency like a previous democratic first lady.

    • Posted By: I'm just sayin' @ 11/06/2008 3:43:13 PM

A former first lady sharing the vice-presidency....hmmm...was there some hanky-panky going on there? Your stupid comment doesn't even make sense.

If this isn't the most fantastic First lady and President to lead all of us into the future, I don't know what is. My race didn't factor into my wanting the best for my family and the future of ALL of us Americans. Thank you Lord for giving us the opportunity to be born in America and giving us free will to elect such a fine American family to lead us...

All I can say is, I was there at Mr. President Elect's speech and there weren't just blacks, there were hispanics, whites, and all other races. Let's get over it. I feel inspired every day I wake up and realize that this man truly is our President come Jan 20th. I could care less about his race. He's amazingly smart, eloquent, and well versed.... none of which I could say for Baby Bush. That alone should make some of you proud. But... such is life. And some of you will.... I guess.. just have to settle with being miserable with Mr. Obama being the next president. LOL. Get over it. Had McCain won,....guess what, we'd just have to deal with it. Michelle will do a wonderful job. Can't wait to see her in the White house!!.

MICHELLE OBAMA NEEDS A MAKEOVER. THOSE EYEBROWS ARE AWEFUL. SHE IS ALMOST AND I SAY ALMOST, UGLIER THAN HILLARY CLINTON. AND THAT DRESS SHE WORE ON ELECTION NIGHT MUST HAVE BEEN A KMART BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL. WHY IS IT THAT THE WIVES OF DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTS ARE ALWAYS FRUMPY, DUMPY, LUMPY AND BUTT UGLY?

    • Posted By: pepperjojo @ 11/06/2008 3:40:31 PM

HOW HATEFUL CAN THIS COUNTRY GET

    • Posted By: latinlady @ 11/06/2008 3:04:37 PM

This is for Atomic3062 first of all the elections weren't based on the wives, sounds like you voted for the wrong person:) I don't think the Bush's had beauty queens and if you remember Jackie Kennedy was the beautiful wife of president Kennedy who was democratic !!!

    • Posted By: Catbubba @ 11/06/2008 3:03:41 PM

When you point at others you are actually pointing back at your self. I am sure you have heard before, if you don't have nothing kind to say , don't say nothing at all. First Lady Michelle Obama have more dignity and character than you may ever understand. The election is over, President Barack Obama will be your president too. We are the United States!

Get a life and worry about the real issues! it's ignorant and trifle folks like you that make Americans look bad. Who are you to judge how anyone looks?

  • Posted By: JamGirl29 @ 11/06/2008 2:59:08 PM

As a black person I have traveled to multiple countries and I have to say hands down our country is definitely the Most Racist. If we think it's the weakening of the economy that will cause America to fall think again. The worst issue in America is racism. I am a mother of beautiful girls but I have been reconsidering whether or not to raise them here. I remember when my older one was a little over a year we were in a local mall and like most baby would do she waved to this white man and said hello...wow the look that he gave her was as if she was a Piece of ish. She is now 8 and it still waters my eyes when I recollect that memory. I am happy that I voted for President elect Obama but I must say I didn't just vote because he was black. I voted because of his ideas and his intolerance of Racism.

    • Posted By: Sunshine1957 @ 11/06/2008 3:03:47 PM

GET OVER IT AND MOVE TO ANOTHER COUNTRY! i TOO EXPERIENCE A SIMILAR SITUATION! YOU MOVE ON. THE WORLD IT'S NICE LADY!

      • Posted By: Doc Howl @ 11/06/2008 3:30:15 PM

Why should she move? This is her home. She should work to change it (instead of dropping out as you propose to do), and there are many of us who will help her do so.

This isn't "White America", anymore...now it's just "America". Get used to it.

        • Posted By: Sunshine1957 @ 11/06/2008 3:40:05 PM

WELL WE HAVE TO SEE - BECAUSE THE AMERICA I KNOW WORKS HARD!!! THERE ARE ALOT OF LAZY PEOPLE WHO CHOICE NOT TO WORK - THEY'RE LAZY PEOPLE. to laidylittlebit :

I cant belive that you would make a statement like that. I can name many black Americans that have left a good and profound mark in our history, BTW, I'm white. I work for the Department of Defense and I work with many African Americans who work just as hard as I do. I also have had the opportunity to be meet many young African Americans who went off to war in Iraq, who died to give you the right to speak so freely. So with that I must say to you, you can take the ignorant away from the ignorance but you cant take the ignorance out of the ignorant. I feel so sorry for individuals like you who are so shallow and who just cant accept change. Change is coming be prepared and you really need to learn how to adapt, improvise and overcome.

      Bravo...well put...

      • Posted By: CouldCareLessAnymore @ 11/06/2008 2:19:28 PM

Yet you won`t walk through South Central L.A. at nite... Why? Because your a racist at heart too! Yup I lock my doors which makes me a racist just like all of you...

        • Posted By: gracefulwitch1 @ 11/06/2008 2:40:21 PM

I dont often walk anywhere at night because of the society we have become. Just as many whites, latinos, mexicans, african americans and other nationalities arent safe to be with in any city let alone a city in New Orleans, and I dont lock my doors at night........I'm lucky enough to live in a country setting where I have had the same neighbors since I was a little girl. No one has moved in, no one has moved out. We all look after one another and maybe if a few more people would look out for their neighbors and so on we wouldnt have to be afraid anymore. Now I realize thats just a dream, for everone to look out for everyone else but its how I deal with the society that we have created...........I pray for a better tomorrow worldwide, but when we have narrow minded individuals who refuse to be open to change then we will have no growth, the mind sets that people have are stagnant, stale and rotted. When you take your own future in your own hands and take responsibility for yourself then change can happen. Then the snowball effect comes into play. I have thrown my snowball today............have you?

          • Posted By: CouldCareLessAnymore @ 11/06/2008 3:03:36 PM

I just happen to like "witches" since they tend to be closer in beliefs than any other religon i`ve ever seen... Just remember you don`t need to light a match under a cats a@@ to make something happen... Leave the crutches for the lost souls that need them...

            • Posted By: gracefulwitch1 @ 11/06/2008 3:08:58 PM

LOL, ok I'll give you that one and I am glad you like people who are Wiccan and I am very true to my faith and my beliefs thats why I feel as strong as I do. We are the ones who have to make the change, we are the ones who can make the difference but we cant do it if we cant see past our own noses, and no comment about witches noses ;)

              • Posted By: CouldCareLessAnymore @ 11/06/2008 3:40:04 PM

                heheh

The hardest things to see are right under our noses... If you do start seeing them it really makes you question everything you`ve been "told"... Guess this isn`t a good place for story telling eh, lol...

          • Posted By: CouldCareLessAnymore @ 11/06/2008 2:57:38 PM

Just a reminder that your racist just like 99.99% of everyone in this world... It`s only white Americans that aren`t allowed to be themselves...

            • Posted By: gracefulwitch1 @ 11/06/2008 3:05:51 PM

I am a third generation American, with my roots hailing from Cork County, Ireland. I dont look any anyone differently until by their own actions would I. I cant hold the entire black race responsible for actions of others nor can I hold any other race accountable for actions that they themselves were not personally responsible for. Blaming one race for the actions of some is narrow minded. If all races were equal in receiving negative news and media coverage I'm sure you would hate everyone including white Americans. Lets see, Scott Peterson was a pleasure to have in our race and lets not forget Charles Mansion another leader there huh! Look hard in our backyard before you go throwing dog poop in others.

              • Posted By: CouldCareLessAnymore @ 11/06/2008 3:26:49 PM

I`ve never looked at anything the way most people do. To make it easier I dislike and don`t trust anyone until i have reason to otherwise. This makes me not predjudice since i single out no one, lol.

  • Posted By: lthal @ 11/06/2008 3:39:58 PM

I have read each comment and find it very sad it has become a black issue. I did not vote for Obama, however, I will respect President Obama and the position he will hold. I thank God I was raised that it does not matter what color your skin is that blood that runs through all of bodies is red. The country is a mess and change is needed, however, as my Mother always said "the proof is in the pudding"

  • Posted By: luvusa4ever @ 11/06/2008 3:39:44 PM

A comment ...Please get a grip on reality and stop blaming Obama for all of America's troubles that have been stirring for decades. This may not be the perfect country. The USA is the BEST country that offers many freedoms. Be grateful for what we have because in other parts of the world, people are not as lucky. Throw out the hatrid and negativity. Give Obama your support just like any other former president. GOD WILL CONTINUE TO BLESS AMERICA!!!

  • Posted By: PENASHUEB @ 11/06/2008 3:39:40 PM

i think she will be a good first lady for the united states of america, and i just want to congra, to the president obama, good luck and peace...

The greatest thing we do for our country and our elected leaders is to pray that God will give them the wisdom to lead us.

  • Posted By: pat .. the positive... @ 11/06/2008 2:10:31 PM

National service organization? "Mandatory voluntary service"????
    KGB???????

I and my family will not serve. We take care and give to where and whom we see fit for us to take care of and give to.

I and my family WILL NOT serve at the command of our governemtn.

    Simple.

    • Posted By: gigglinggirl @ 11/06/2008 3:38:57 PM

Should be "pat...the one who needs a dictionary". How can service be both "mandatory" and "voluntary". Pat...you need to study English a little bit longer before you start trying to make sentences. ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!

    • Posted By: DoogieBo @ 11/06/2008 2:16:59 PM

"positive"? Kind of a misnomer. Should be "pat... the self centered".

      You must be so proud.

      • Posted By: Heartlover @ 11/06/2008 3:33:14 PM

No, Pat the positive it is. She is positive she won't be forced into serving. I'm with her!!!

Comment: I am African American and a former US Servicemen, personally I could careless about who is president at this point because it is God that promotes and not man even though I did not vote for Obama I voted for McCain. Nonetheless I accept the out come of the elections as God's will and that is enough for me.
Do I trust him on military issues? Absolutely not because to my knowledge he has never served.
Do I trust him on the economy? At this point I will wait and see attitude.
If I was still of military service age and you ask would I serve him? The answer is yes because I love this country and I bleed red, white, and blue.
I say that; to say this, let's all stop the bickering because what's done is done and there is nothing that is going to change the out come. It is time to lay down the party lines and realize that we are all in this baking oven together. The question is are we going to rise or fall? There is an ole' saying "we either all hang together or we all hang seperately, in either case we all hang!"
