    President Elect Obama said the right words "Let's all work together" to make America a better economy and place to raise our families.He didnt say just blacks or mixed races he said All. If people put all their ignorance behind them, they will be amazed at the change in this country. It didn"take this country 1 day or 1 year for the economy to get so bad, so please don't expect him to change the world in one day or one year, when there are so many small minded people who are doing nothing for this country but complaining.They say when you leave this world, its not how you live, but what you leave behind when you go.

Look at the STATISTICS on ALL VOTES throughout America, you will see that predominately and statisically it was not ONLY Black votes nor ONLY White votes that lead this great country to a victory !! It was all votes from ALL PEOPLE !!!! Not ONLY Black and not ONLY White, BUT ALL ! For the record ...... there is more "White" people in USA then there are any other race. GOD ..... STOP THIS BICKERING !!!

    We still see racism, sex discrimnation, and etc.. everyday around us. For example, someone who is not white will more likely not get hired even they have the same talented and meet all requirements as the others. Same people like to communicate with their own race... 99.9% of Blacks voted for Obama and the rest considered to be minorities. It doen't mean that Obama is Black and he would represent the Black. He is the president of the USA. Even if he is Asian, it doesn't mean he represent Asian more than others group. Why people are celebrating that he is a black president and still refering to 40 yrs. ago about slavery. It is not like the law just passed yesterday that Black, Latino or Asian can run for president now... My point is that Obama is a brave and very smart man. It doesn't mean that he is Black and now all Blacks are free to do what they want and or all Whites needed to be awared of the changes... Please grow up people and lets be real here. He represents DFL and we Americans are ready for a CHANGE!!!! by the way, I am Asian...;)

    Just because someone did not vote for Obama does not make that person a racist. We all should have voted according to our conscience. I voted according to my moral conscience. On the other hand, I will continue to pray for my President and the future President Elect for as long as I am able to do so freely.

      I'm afraid for the next four years anything you say that is not highly complementary of Obama will get you labeled "racist". Perhaps the attacks are from the group of First Time Voters who are naive and don't know how ugly politics can get.

    What a sad time we live in still being divided by race. I am latina and I voted for Obama. Maybe if McCain had not spent so much time bashing Obama, the outcome may have been different. But it is what it is, and the outcome could not have been greater! I am just thankful that my children were alive and old enough to see history being made. I made them stay up and watch Obama's speech after he won the vote. It was an awesome speech and I know he will live up to all he has said. Get over the race issue, and let's all work together and support him in trying to handle the "MESS" he has to deal with as the new President.

    What is really amazing is the comment from smartamerican. Why should we learn a different language? Because there are so many mexicans living here? If i move to China are they gonna make THEIR people learn english for my sake? NO. Anyone coming here should be MADE to learn english, as a requirement for being allowed to live here. Its ridiculous going places and seeing a sign with multiple languages on it.

    I agree with you too. I'm a black woman married to a white man. Our kids know they are be best of the best and they can be who they are without trying to select a race to belong to. The racism in American is sad, BUT I am hopeful that a change will come and come soon.

    If anyone disagrees, that does not make that person a "Hater". Why does it always have to be turned into a "Black thing". I realize that I just would not understand that and I'm sure that a black person made that saying up. But, seriously...why does Obama being elected as our future President have to do with race. It should have to do with issues. You should be debating the issues instead of touting the fact that Obama is dark skinned. Did the majority vote for a President simply because of the color of his skin? If so, we really are in trouble.

    If Obama is a murderer, what is Bush? How many soldiers have we lost in a war that was based on a lie? How many of those funds wil benefit you? I voted for Obama because I want change in AMERICA. At some point in our lives we need to look at the inside of people and not their color. If Clarence Thomas was running for president, I would not have voted for him, he is black!! I am also black born and raised in the Mississipi Delta, change needs to come. Look at what has happened under the Bush administration. housing meltdown, war, debt. We dod not have this problem with Clinton. You talk about abortions, that is my freedom of choice. I wonder how many you know about or haw many people you encourage to have one. There are more abortion performed in this country on white people that any other color. White people opened the doors for abortions. you need to think about somethings before you write it out, grow up and get over the race thing, Obama is here to stay.

It was the Indians who showed you how to plant and grow food. What thanks did they get - alchohol and a reservation.     Now that's coming from a real genius. It's people like tpinto that help spur and keep lingering racism around. I'm not saying that America is racists free or that tpinto comments are in some way true, but it is this type of attitude that assists in keeping the "black man down". You can tell by the tone of his posting that he feels as if he is owed something because of events that occurred so long ago. Changes and revolutions don't happen overnight and as things get better in the US pertaining to racism, enjoy and embrace it. Don't reflect on history from 225 plus years ago and attached it to "white people" of today. If it weren't for the "ignorant, uneducated piece[s] of trash", Barack Obama would not have been elected President. He would not have had that opportunity, nor would he have gotten the result that many black men and women desired.
